With the development of this technology, people nowadays are able to print many innovative things or improved versions of the already existing items.  <b>In fact, more and more </b><a href=\"https://www.my3d.guru/en/3dprinter/businesses/\"><b>businesses</b></a><b> are using </b><b>3d printing technology as part of their daily operation.</b>\n\nBig companies like Sandvik use large industrial 3D printers by companies such as <a href=\"https://www.stratasys.com\">Stratasys</a> oder <a href=\"https://3dsystems.com\">3D Systems</a>. These are very expensive 3D printers which most people cannot afford for themselves. However, you can use services as by <a href=\"https://shapeways.com\">Shapeways</a>, buy a <a href=\"https://www.my3d.guru/en/3d-printer-home-institutions-businesses/3d-printer-advanced-users/3d-printer-small-build-volume/\">small plastic 3D printer</a> or even <a href=\"https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07PJQNNGP/ref=as_li_qf_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=my3dguru0f-21&amp;creative=6738&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;creativeASIN=B07PJQNNGP&amp;linkId=e567e131fd4f524fccd339e5b3b7d2d1\">build a DIY-Printer</a> yourself.\n\nThat is also the case of Swedish metal giant Sandvik. The company  managed to produce what they call “the world’s first smash-proof 3D printed guitar”. \n<center> <img class=\"size-medium wp-image-4938\" src=\"https://www.my3d.guru/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/sandvik-smash-proof-guitar@1400x1050_-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"World’s first 3D printed smashed-proof guitar ever made\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" /><br/> World’s first 3D printed smashed-proof guitar ever made</center>\n<h3>Which material the 3D printing technology used to create this guitar?</h3>\nMade of titanium powder, the guitar’s body was made by using a Direct Metal Laser Sintering 3D printer. While the body of the guitar was made by layers, the guitar’s neck and fretboard were machined by Sandvik Coromant. The material they used this time was recycled stainless steel. \n\nWhen it comes to the back of the guitar, it is hollowed out from the inside and is only 11 mm thick in some places. Finally, the guitars’ volume knobs and tailpiece which anchor the strings, were also the production of 3D printing\n\n“Additive manufacturing allows us to build highly complex designs in small production runs. It lets us create lighter, stronger and more flexible components with internal structures that would be impossible to mill traditionally. And it is more sustainable because you only use the material you need for the component, minimizing waste.” – stated Amelie Norrby, one of the manufacturing engineers at Sandvik. \n<h3>Who had the honor to try to smash it?</h3>\nIn order to prove the resistance of their incredible smash resistance guitar, Sandvik called the popular rock-star Yngwie Malmsteen to smash it! Malsteen is a famous Swedish metal legend who is known for his wild performances in which smashing guitars is a tradition.  In fact, during his around 40-years career, Yngwie Malmsteen is known to have smashed probably a hundred guitars. \n\nMalmsteen had the honor to smash the guitar in front of a crowd in a rock-bar near Miami. However, he did not manage to destroy it. \n\n“This guitar is a beast! Sandvik is obviously on top of their game. They put the work in, they do their hours, I can relate to that. The result is amazing. I gave everything I had, but it was impossible to smash.” – explained Malmsteen after he gave his very best to destroy this un-destroyable guitar. \n\nSandvik made a collaboration with the well-known guitar designer Andy Holt, who forms part of Drewman Guitars. That helped in order to help them meet Malmsteen’s wild performance on stage. \n\nImpressed by the guitar, Holt revealed that the guitar is truly a work of art and that there is not a single part of it that has been made befor. He even added that one can freely use a hammer and the guitar would not break. Sandvik made the neck and main hub of the body as one piece which is the weakest point of all the guitars.\n\nSandvik’s major challenge was to strengthen the fret and the neck as they extended into the guitar’s body. With this, the super-light lattice structure was sandwiched between the guitar’s neck and fretboard.  Amazingly, this  3D printing technology innovation made from hyper-duplex steel is a lattice structure. This is the strongest in the world for a given weight. \n<h3>Summary</h3>\nIn other words, the Swedish giant Sandvik made a real step forward not only in the music industry. Also in the 3D printing technology by introducing this undestroyable guitar. I used the text feature and experimented with the different options it had.
