| body |
https://topstaking.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Untitled-drawing-16.png

MakerDAO is an Ethereum token that has become a token of the most valuable and exciting cryptocurrency products, Defi. Defi or Decentralized Finance is the most exciting and fastest growing portion of the cryptocurrency industry and its all based around MakerDAO’s DAI stablecoin. But, in order to make DAI, you need to have MKR. And unlike other cryptocurrencies, there are less and less MKR as time goes on. To date 4,625 of 1M MKR tokens have been burned, with 8,650 MKR worth of stability fees that still need to be burned currently and a yearly burn rate of nearly 20k MKR or 2% of initial supply. This deflationary burning of tokens is the equivalent of staking…just done in reverse. So lets look into What MakerDAO is, how it works, and how you can stake and earn with MKR token.
What is MakerDAO?
MakerDAO is a decentralized autonomous organization that runs on the Ethereum blockchain and is a protocol for minimizing the volatility of its own stablecoin DAI.
What is DAI?
DAI is the first ever fully-decentralized stablecoin. It maintains a 1:1 peg to the USD. Since stablecoin DAI is backed by ETH, a volatile crypto, maintaining the peg gave rise to interesting challenges.

$1.00

=

1 DAI

History
2015 was when the project started. To fund its development, they sold MKR tokens instead of conducting an ICO like most did. After 3 years, in 2018, Maker launched its own decentralized stable coin DAI and hast been widely respected across the cryptosphere ever since.
Who is using DAI?
Having issued more than $77 MM in DAI (debt) to date and inside its smart contracts holding 2% of all Ether, it’s safe to claim that DAI is the most successful project ever built on Ethereum. Maker continues to see perpetual 20% monthly growth in issued DAI. 71% of users spends their DAI as soon as they have it. This signals a shift of usage rather than speculation.
How does it work?
For example, you sent 1 ETH (worth $150), this will allow you to take up to $100 DAI (assuming a 150% collateralisation rate $100/1.50) against your $100. If the price of Ether drops below $100 your Collateralised Debt Position(CDP) will be forcefully closed with a 13% penalty if you are liquidated. You need to put in more Ether or take out less DAI in the first place to stop this from happening. This is to ensure there’s always enough capital locked against the amount of money being taken out.

Send Ether to Maker’s smart contract.

$150

Creating a Collateralised Debt Position (CDP)
@150% collateral ratio

Draw DAI
$100 (debt)

If you want your Ether back, you need to pay back the amount you took out with the addition of a minor fee.

Use DAI to pay back CDP

Close CDP + pay Stability fee

Get you ETH back!

How Does it Stake?
When we think of staking we usually think of inflation. New tokens are created and rewarded to those who put stake on the line and secure the network. However, deflationary currencies can stake too, and it’s a much easier process.

Looking at a simple supply and demand graph. Inflation is the equivalent of increasing supply. So, this would mean that over time prices will also go up with inflation if demand stays the same. So, if your tokens are not staking and sitting idle and demand stays the same you are losing purchasing power. Deflationary tokens such as MKR work the opposite because they lower supply by burning tokens.

This means that if demand stays the same, the price for things will go down. So just by holding a deflationary token you are essentially receiving all the benefits of staking. Your purchasing power is increasing as people use the network and burn other MKR.
What is the Staking APR of MKR
The staking APR for a token like MKR is variable. It depends on a couple factors. 1 the stability fee which accrues interest fees which burn maker, the MKR token price, CDP’s closing, eventually the DSR (DAI savings Rate). I won’t go into detail on all of this as there are better resources on MKR to learn this. But, you can watch the burn rate (or effective APR) on https://mkr.tools/tokens/mkr
In the snapshot above 10/8/19 you can see that the annual burn rate of MKR is 18963 tokens. Of the 1M token supply that means around 2% of the supply given constant variables is to be burned. This would roughly equate to a 2% APR for holding MKR (again depending on many multiple variables).
Like the sound of Deflationary assets?
If you like this idea of built in staking via burning you are in luck because there are more tokens that do the same thing. Mainly exchange tokens BNB, CET, and LEO. Exchanges share value and equity via these tokens and whenever they burn them, they are essentially reducing supply and making yours more valuable. Or Staking as we like to call it. So we hope this short article was informative and helped explain the staking nature of holding MKR even though it doesn’t use POS or earn staking rewards directly. |

It depends on a couple factors. 1 the stability fee which accrues interest fees which burn maker, the MKR token price, CDP’s closing, eventually the DSR (DAI savings Rate).\r\n\r\nI won’t go into detail on all of this as there are better resources on MKR to learn this. But, you can watch the burn rate (or effective APR) on https://mkr.tools/tokens/mkr\r\n\r\n
\r\n\r\nIn the snapshot above 10/8/19 you can see that the annual burn rate of MKR is 18963 tokens. Of the 1M token supply that means around 2% of the supply given constant variables is to be burned. This would roughly equate to a 2% APR for holding MKR (again depending on many multiple variables).\r\n
Like the sound of Deflationary assets?
\r\nIf you like this idea of built in staking via burning you are in luck because there are more tokens that do the same thing. Mainly exchange tokens BNB, CET, and LEO. Exchanges share value and equity via these tokens and whenever they burn them, they are essentially reducing supply and making yours more valuable. Or Staking as we like to call it.\r\n\r\nSo we hope this short article was informative and helped explain the staking nature of holding MKR even though it doesn’t use POS or earn staking rewards directly.",

| title | Which Staking pool Should I use? |
| body |
If you have been following the proof of stake portion of the cryptocurrency industry, you will have noticed the explosion of staking platforms popping up everywhere. Pooled Staking has undeniable benefits when staking coins, and it really makes sense that these pool services will be popping up rapidly. And for the most part staking pools turn into a win-win situation, as the compounding effect can usually more than cover the staking pool fee. So, with all these options, the question then becomes which service should I use?

Question 1: Do they stake my coin?

This question is obvious, if you are wondering which services support your coin check out our staking coin list

Question 2: Are the legitimate?

This question is a bit harder and we highly encourage you to do your own research. The best advice we have come up with is applying the time test. And the time test is “have they lasted the test of time?” The older a company, the more likely they are legitimate and will stick around. Scams and bad companies will usually fail within the first 2 years.

Questions 3: How long have they been around? Do they have a big pool?

Following up on question below, the age of a staking pool is very valuable as the longer the service has been around, the more likely it has a larger pool as more people have had time to find and stake in that pool. Below we made a table with some very basic high level overview of the different services. They are sorted by age, which we think is the 1 of if not the easiest way to decide which service to use or look into when deciding where to stake.

| title | How to Stake EOS |
| body |
https://topstaking.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Staking-EOS-featured-image.png

EOS is a unique and exciting blockchain. Running off the DPOS (Delegated Proof of Stake) consensus engine. EOS is fast, scalable, and underrated for its performance today. If you have EOS, don’t be intimidated to actually use it! While becoming a block producer and actually earning new EOS via DPOS system is likely impractical, EOS’s recent REX (Resource Exchange) makes borrowing or leasing out your EOS resources (EOS token is a claim to resources as transactions are free) as easy as ever! With REX, anybody can stake their EOS and earn APR basically risk free. While the APR rates are currently not that high, as more and more platforms build on EOS and grow the demand for EOS resources, staking rates are likely to go up. And if you have EOS you plan on keeping for a long time, why not put them to work and grow your holdings?
EOS Resources and how it works
One of the main issues in EOSIO based blockchains today is the cost of using the network and CPU resources.

The CEO of EOS, Daniel Larimer presented a solution that can lower the capital costs of CPU resources and EOS network usage. As EOS is new and not that widely used yet besides by cryptocurrency enthusiast, there are a lot of people with EOS resources that don’t need them today. So the next obvious step was to create a rental market for those who want to rent their unused CPU time / bandwidth. This of course requires price discovery and liquidity. A rental market should be able to provide resources that are available for a low, reasonable price. This market will give Token holders the option to lend their EOS at a fee in exchange for some loss of liquidity for the duration of the loan. Therefore providing zero risk of losing capital to the lenders.

How will the Tokens for Lending work?
There’s a Resource Exchange(REX) that allows you to convert your EOS tokens for REX tokens at the current book value of the Resource Exchange and/or convert your REX tokens back to EOS at book value, anytime you like. The REX tokens’ book value will increase due to fees from various network operations, such as; fees generated when lending the EOS, fees earned for renting CPU and NET resources, RAM trading, name auctions and any other resources that the EOSIO chain provides. Accrued rewards from all possible sources, can generate an amount effective enough to be offered as a reward for holding EOS for at least 30 days (the rental period).

Additionally, Staked EOS or/ SEOS tokens is created every time an EOS is contributed to the books of REX. Using one system, SEOS can be further converted into the delegated EOS for CPU resources over a 30 day period.
How can this lower the costs of resources?
The current allocation model in the EOS network is built in such a way that using the network for a month costs exactly the same as having the right to use the network forever (minus the proceeds of selling 30 days later). The issue about this allocation model is that, 30 days of interval with the possible market volatility can either double the amount or lose half of it. Therefore, renting out CPU resources heads the traders not being exposed to the EOS’s price volatility and will have the advantage of EOS’s cheap price. This model incentivizes participants in the governance of the EOS network and by doing so, lessens exposure to EOS price volatility. This will surely create a huge demand for buying and holding EOS tokens.
How to Stake your EOS
It’s time for the “How?”, now that you better understand the “Why?” for EOS staking. The process is actually made very easy and EOS Authority has made a very easy website and guide for staking your EOS on the REX. I will briefly summarize so you know what to expect

Step 1: Get a wallet

Scatter is EOS’s main wallet interface and has become widely accepted as a way to use and interact with EOS platforms. So the first step is to download scatter and get your EOS onto your wallet. Follow Scatter’s guides to making a secure wallet and make sure not to share your private key with anyone.

Step 2: Login to Rex

Once you have Scatter installed simply go to a REX homepage. We recommend accessing through https://eosauthority.com/rex/. Once there go to “Add account” and enable pop-ups and other activity on your website as your EOS scatter wallet will take over from there. Remember to be logged into Scatter before doing this step.

Step 3: Voting and Other Prerequisites

If you want to Utilize EOS’s REX, there are some prerequisites you will have to complete such as voting for block producers.

Scatter and the website will walk you through this process with general ease. My suggestion if you don’t know who to vote for is just to delegate your EOS voting to a trustworthy delegate. This will be the wallet and website recommendation as well.

Step 4: Deposit into REX

On the “Borrow CPU/Net” tab go to deposit into REX. Choose the amount of liquid EOs you want to eventually stake and click deposit. I recommend keeping a little liquid EOS in case you need to stake it later for more network resources for your own wallet activities.

Step 5: Stake to Savings Account

Once you have REX tokens (takes about 1 min after deposit) you are ready to stake. On the “Get/Sell REX” tab go down to savings and select “Stake my REX (savings)”. Simply deposit your REX tokens here and you are done and will now be collecting interest as people borrow EOS resources from the general fund and pay back interest (which you get a chunk of).

Step 6: Watch your EOS Grow

You are able to unstake your EOS at anytime once its staked. Otherwise you can view your earnings and progress on the main dashboard page.

You can also view overall statistics about REX via the “REX statistics” tab. Currently as not much borrowing is going on the APR is under 1%, but something is better than nothing.

And there you have it. A quick overview of what and how to stake your EOS

|

"body": "
https://topstaking.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Staking-EOS-featured-image.png

EOS is a unique and exciting blockchain. Running off the DPOS (Delegated Proof of Stake) consensus engine. EOS is fast, scalable, and underrated for its performance today. If you have EOS, don’t be intimidated to actually use it!\r\n\r\nWhile becoming a block producer and actually earning new EOS via DPOS system is likely impractical, EOS’s recent REX (Resource Exchange) makes borrowing or leasing out your EOS resources (EOS token is a claim to resources as transactions are free) as easy as ever!\r\n\r\nWith REX, anybody can stake their EOS and earn APR basically risk free. While the APR rates are currently not that high, as more and more platforms build on EOS and grow the demand for EOS resources, staking rates are likely to go up. And if you have EOS you plan on keeping for a long time, why not put them to work and grow your holdings?\r\n
EOS Resources and how it works
\r\nOne of the main issues in EOSIO based blockchains today is the cost of using the network and CPU resources.\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\nThe CEO of EOS, Daniel Larimer presented a solution that can lower the capital costs of CPU resources and EOS network usage. As EOS is new and not that widely used yet besides by cryptocurrency enthusiast, there are a lot of people with EOS resources that don’t need them today.\r\n\r\nSo the next obvious step was to create a rental market for those who want to rent their unused CPU time / bandwidth. | title | Staking Stablecoins: Best ways to earn interest on stablecoins |
| body |

Staking cryptocurrency is a fun, easiest, and quite profitable way to grow your cryptocurrency holdings. Staking, normally refers to POS consensus mechanism where a cryptocurrency blockchain, runs by people running nodes with collateral on the line to keep them honest. In layman's terms users lock up coins, for a period of time, and earn interest on those coins. So while you can’t actually “Stake” stablecoins by the proper definition, you can lock them up and earn interest on them in a very low risk high APR way. This article dives into the 2 best protocols for earning interest on your locked up coins. I have been using Crypto Lending platforms for quite some time now, so I wanted to share some I learned. Including the Decentralized Finance (DeFi) platforms as well. If you haven’t heard of Crypto Lending platforms before, it’s basically decentralized bank where you can either borrow cryptocurrencies against collateral or lend them out and earn interest. You never need to apply, or talk with a banker, it’s all done via smart contracts. Cryptocurrencies typically/usually accepted are Bitcoin, Ethereum and even Stable coins. The most profitable platforms and stablecoins I found are Compound finance and Dy/Dx Exchange for DAI and USDC.

Stable Coin Passive Income

If you just started cryptocurrency and you’re still reluctant on really investing in crypto because of the volatility, there are still high yielding ways to get involved and earn passive decentralized income. The best way to go about this is to use Stable Coins on Decentralized Finance (DeFi) applications. It’s quite simple.

Convert your USD to Stable Coins such as; DAI or USDC (article better explaining these stablecoins) The short summary is that with DAI, it’s an economically incentivized decentralized stablecoin. So its essentially trustless, but you need to trust the smart contract as well as the economics and market makers to keep the system sufficiently collateralized. For USDC, its a trust based system. So if you use USDC you are trusting reputable company Circle that every USDC is backed by a USD in a bank account. USDC is a significant improvement from largest crypto stablecoin USDTStablecoins are pretty simple, the goal is to put dollars on the blockchain. So they are pegged tokens that are suppose to trade 1:1($1 = 1 Stable Coin) with USD, but the demand of the market still fluctuates the price of the coin. Like for example, at the time of writing DAI is currently trading at $0.99 and has been below $1 for quite some time now.

Deposit your Stable Coins to a Decentralized Finance (DeFi) . For passive income its as easy as just depositing and starting to instantly earn interes. That Is all you have to do. Similar to MakerDAO’s DAI, the system is mostly trustless, but you still need to trust the contract as well as the economics and market makers to keep the system liquid.

Comparing The Platforms

There are a number of platforms where you can trade Stable Coins. Because we’re aiming to determine the best way to earn interest, we will only be comparing the top Decentralized Finance (DeFi) platforms. Namely, Compound.Finance, Dy/Dx Exchange and DDEX

Compound.Finance

Dy/Dx

Stable Coins Accepted

DAI, USDC

DAI, USDC

Major Crypto Accepted

ETH, BAT, REP, ZRX,

DAI, USDC, ETH

Interest Rates (As of August 2019)

0.07 - 7.47%

0.2%-25% range historic 10% APR

Compounding

Daily

Daily

Lock In

No

No

Decentralized

Yes

Yes

Minimum Amt.

No

No

Security

Own Wallet

Own Wallet

Compound.Finance

Is deployed on the Ethereum network which means that the platform is managed by Smart Contracts. Compound.Finance is considered the most decentralized platform to date. That being the case, it is safe to say that it is arguably the most secure and trustworthy platform. For the risk and liquidity it's definitely one of the best ways to earn interest on your stable coins

Compound currently accepts DAI - Maker Dao as well as USDC as stablecoins for borrowing and lending. You can also use Ethereum and some other quality ERC20 tokens, but the most profitable is by far lending out stablecoins.

Pros:

Decentralized through Smart Contracts

Dynamic real time changes on interest rate based on supply and demand.

Daily compounding interest

Cons:

Not significant

Dy/Dx

Dy/Dx Exchange is also a platform deployed through the Ethereum Network, and powered by open source Smart Contracts. "body": "\n
\n
I have been using Crypto Lending platforms for quite some time now, so I wanted to share some I learned. | title | Cosmos Atoms: How to stake the most important Proof of stake Coin Yet! |
| body |
http://35.222.221.24/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/cosmos-atom-Copy.png

It's finally here! The highly anticipated launch of Cosmos Network is done, and as of recently its native token ATOM can be bought sold and most importantly Staked. Aside from DPOS chains, the cosmos Atom is already the largest true proof of stake coin by market cap valued at roughly $1B*. And its currently staking at 13% APR which could be a fantastic opportunity to get in early and grow wealth overtime in this important project. *calculated using current supply and market price 4/29
What is Cosmos?
Cosmos is an ambitious project dubbed “the internet of blockchains” as it is designed to connect all the different blockchains. I won’t go into the technical details, but its security and incentive model is a new implementation of POS (Proof of Stake). Except, this implementation is a bit more aggressive than others with slashing (loss of proof of stake due to poor node performance).

Terminology: Cosmos Hub
The Cosmos Hub is the first blockchain of the Cosmos Network. The hub will connect to many other blockchains, effectively functioning as a light client of those chains. This will allow token transfers across different chains to be routed via the hub. Cosmos Hub 1 was the mainnet launch that enabled staking, and voting. Cosmos Hub 2 is the network which finally allowed transfers of atoms along with staking and voting.
Atoms
The ATOM is the token of the Cosmos Hub. It is the staking coin, and coin you pay your transaction fees in like ETH. It is also the governance token as its used for voting on proposals. This is important as Cosmos is arguably more democratic than other blockchains, as even its launch and token transferability had to be voted on by ATOM holders. For more on how weighted voting for validators works, read this blog post. In return for bonding(staking) atoms with their chosen validator, an atom holder, who has delegated (see below) becomes eligible for block rewards paid in atoms as well as transaction fees.
Validators
Validators secure the Cosmos Hub by validating and relaying transactions, proposing, verifying and finalizing blocks. Validators can stake their own atoms or be delegated tokens from other atom holders. This makes the system a bit like DPOS (delegated proof of stake). However, unlike DPOS validators are expected and compete to share staking rewards with their delegators. They only make a % of staking rewards, where as with DPOS block producers receive 100% of staking rewards.
Delegators
Delegators of the Cosmos Hub are holders ATOMs and regular users. There is no minimum amount of atoms required in order to stake atoms. They do so by selecting one or more validators and delegating their voting power to them by putting up atoms as collateral. In the case of misbehavior by the validator (for example, signing two different blocks at the same block height), part of the collateral deposited by both the errant validator and delegator will get slashed. In return, delegators can earn a proportion of the transaction fees as well as block rewards.
Staking Return
New atoms are created every block and distributed to validators (similar to miners) like most all blockchain systems. Validators then pass this reward on to their delegates and only keep their validator fee called a commission. This fee will be determined by the free market, but the commission rate seems likely to end up somewhere between 0-25% of staking rewards. The target rate of atoms staking is ⅔ of the total atom supply. If less atoms are staked, the block rewards increases up to a ceiling of 20% annualized inflation. If more than ⅔ are being staked, atom block rewards decrease gradually down low of 7% APR. At the time of writing ATOM staking ROI is around 13%.

More information:
Binance Research has aggregated a lot of good information about cosmos available in this post if you want to research more.
How to stake
So now let's get to the meat and potatoes, how do you get atoms and stake them to earn the 13% APR rewards of this promising new coin? It’s actually quite an easy process, especially if you have a Ledger wallet. But, the Cosmosstation mobile app has worked excellent as well and is very easy to use.
Step 1 get a wallet
If you have a Ledger Wallet, I recommend https://lunie.io/#/. Its similar to using MyEtherWallet with Ethereum and the most secure way for a regular users to interact and stake their atoms.
If you don’t have a ledger wallet, the Cosmostation mobile app has worked great. Interacting with the mobile wallet is very intuitive and similar to using any other kind of cryptocurrency wallet. If best practices are used, this is also a plenty secure way to use and stake your atoms.

Step 2 back up your wallet
Always backup your wallets and make sure you have your seed phrase written down and stored in a safe place.
Step 3 Delegate
Delegating is not a complicated process at all. Both wallets have a very easy to use delegation process. For lunie wallet simply go to staking tab, then validators. Here a list of all the cosmos hub validators will show up. I recommend going with the top validators, as they are most likely to get staking rewards and most incentivized to avoid slashing. Lunie if you click the sort feature you can sort by voting power.
For Cosmos station the process is similar. All of the delegators are listed and you can click through and select the best one. Picking a Delegator: While you are free to do however you please with your atoms, I recommend delegating your atoms to a couple top validators to diversify. You can choose what percentages, and if you have strong feelings towards one or the other go ahead.
Delegating for both wallets is easy as a normal transaction. Select delegate and amount and submit the transaction. Do node that once delegated those atoms are locked and cannot be transferred for minimum of 20 days. Step 4 Claim staking rewards Staking rewards are not automatically deposited into your wallet. I am not sure all of the details of this, but I recommend always claiming your staking rewards in a transaction before unbonding. Also claiming staking rewards regularly could be a good idea and help increase the compounding effect for your atoms. Step 5 Unbonding period Delegating, or unboding is another simple transaction. After you claimed your rewards go to unbond and select amount. Once you send this transaction these atoms will remain locked and not staking for 20 days. So keep that in mind always.
Conclusion
The project is still very new and so far it’s all speculation. But it has a good team, a good money chest to play with, and some very exciting prospects. Don’t take any of this as investment advice, but hopefully this information was interesting to learn a bit more about this very exciting proof of stake project. |

| title | Staking a Casino |
| body |
http://35.222.221.24/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Untitled-drawing-5.png

Ever wondered what it was like to be a Casino and be on the other end of gamblers losses? Wonder no more, you can stake Edgeless tokens today and profit! Staking is not limited to only blockchains and consensus mechanisms. Today you can stake your Edgeless ERC20 token on the backend of their smart contract 0% house edge legal online casino! The process is called “Bankroll Staking” and there is no set APR, but if you have Edgeless or want exposure to the casino Industry you might want to research and take a look. EDG token holders can stake their tokens to participate in Edgeless bankroll funding. This new feature is called, EDG bankroll staking.
Why do we need to stake EDG tokens?
There are 132,046,997 EDG tokens in circulation and that is a fixed amount. 60% of the total bankroll funding is provided by the company, and 40% is funded by the community. In the not so distant future, the casino will grow in number of players and in betting amounts. A larger bankroll will then be needed to sustain the system’s growth. In order to make sure that there’s always a sufficient bankroll, the community has to be able to stake the tokens they hold to have a sufficient number of tokens rolling. Thanks to an extremely efficient mechanism, Ethereum Smart Contracts, for making it possible.
How EDG staking can work.
In this example, minimum EDG required, duration of bankroll holds for staked tokens, and other conditions are yet to be determined. Since Edgeless is still at an early testing phase, it still lacks data from a platform that’s already running in order to test further for all conditions to be defined. Edgeless is on ETH main net! and below is an example of a possible system architecture.

For example. Let’s say, there are 10 thousand players. And, to sustain them we need a bankroll of 10 million EDG tokens. With the 60% / 40% fund proportion, 6 million is funded by the company and 4 million are tokens staked by the community. So, staking EDG tokens is simply sending tokens to a bankroll Smart Contract and getting it back after a week with either, positive or negative surplus. If positive, the smart contract will automatically distribute the additional tokens proportionately to the wallets that staked. By staking your EDG tokens, you are helping to sustain an entire system. Helping in the success of your own investment.

Questions you might ask...

What is the status of EDG token legally? It’s a utility token used to avail services in Edgeless. It can also be used by the community to sustain bankroll growth.

Who can stake EDG tokens? Everyone can participate in Edgeless staking with the exception of US citizens. Regulations on tokens in the US are too uncertain at this time. To protect the system from possible issues that it may bring in the future, this feature is currently not available to US citizens Due to uncertainty in the US in regard to the regulation of tokens, for now this feature is not available to US citizens.

What is the maximum number of stakes one token holder can make? A token holder can only stake once every round.

Is it possible that there will be no surplus in Edgeless’ bankroll? Can I lose in staking? In theory, it is possible. But highly unlikely, because of the rules in game limit and strict bankroll management in Edgeless.

|
