You do not have, because you do not ask God. {3} When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.\n\nAlthough Luke 11:13 does say this:\n\n(Luke 11:13 NIV)  If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!\"\n\nIt's an interesting verse. Jesus is comparing people giving their children gifts to God giving the Holy Spirit. I'm not sure how that works today except that the more godly you are, and the more you're doing the work that God has called you to do,  the more the Spirit will guide you.",
