| body | Matthew 9:20-22 (NKJV) 20 And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. 21 For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.” 22 But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour. (You can also read of Mark’s account of this same incredible healing in Mk5:25-34.) Reflections: To this woman, who was so sick for twelve years, touching Jesus was all that mattered. She forced her way through the crowed that was thronging Jesus and desperately stretched out her arm as far as she could reach toward the Savior until her faith’s touch met with the hem of Jesus’ garment. And immediately it happened! She was made whole! Just think, no more bleeding! No more doctors! I can just hear her now, “Oh, thank you Jesus!” “Thank you Jesus!” Truth be known, (whether we’re a believer or not) touching Jesus is all that matters. Whether it’s spiritual healing (getting saved), physical healing, emotional healing, a desire to minister to people – whatever it is, touching Jesus is all that matters. We can, at any time, stretch out our desperate arm by faith until we too touch the very hem of His garment, and come to know for certain that, yes “touching Jesus is all that matters …” http://discord.me/adsactly .jpg) |

| body | Philippians 4:4-8 (NKJV) 4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. Reflections: The principles above make up an unstoppable power formula that opens wide the gates of heaven to all who will apply them in simple childlike faith. They don’t appear like strategic weapons of war, but in fact there are few greater than these. Why? Because they show the Lord that no matter what befalls us we are steadfastly trusting in him; knowing that it’s just a matter of time before the blessing of God arrives (Heb 11:6). In every situation “The Lord is at hand.” He’s found in the context of these power principles as we allow them to operate within us. Ø Rejoice in the Lord -- Always making him our boast in every situation. Ø Be gentle using God’s gentleness -- Wounded souls will respond to the gentleness of God flowing through us. Ø By being anxious for nothing we allow the peace of God to settle in our hearts and minds. Ø By meditating on the attributes of God the Holy Spirit imparts them to us so that they become a real part of who we are. As we surrender to God’s love, God’s ways and God’s desires – we will always be effective in the earth – not because of us but rather because “The Lord is at hand” working in and through us …! http://discord.me/adsactly [unnamed (13).jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmUAA3Lm7JYJMwrM5HCd1EHQNjvHCKiPybokmktCFssuDG/unnamed%20(13).jpg) |

Reflections: In Hebrews 4:12 the Word of God is likened to a discerning sword. In Job 23:12 to that which is more important than food. In Psalm 199:105 to a lamp to guide our feet. In John 17:17 to truth. In our verse today the words of the Lord are likened to perfect purity (the number seven being symbolic of spiritual perfection). But even though we might have a working knowledge of the written word of God -- without the leading of the Holy Spirit this could still only equal a form of dry religion. On the other hand to be “led by the Holy Spirit” without a strong biblical foundation of the word of God makes you a sitting duck for the devil’s crowd. The solution: · Surrender to the tutelage of the Holy Spirit and let Him teach you the word of God personally (1 John 2:27). · Study and become equipped to rightly divide the word of truth (2 Tim 2:15; 3:16-17). · Learn to be truly led by the Holy Spirit (John 16:13) Pure silver (the word of God), working in and through us, via the Holy Spirit, will reflect the true character and nature of the Father’s heart to those who are desperately seeking for Him. Isn’t this what we truly desire? ….gif) http://discord.me/adsactly |

| body | 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV) 7For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Reflections: We define fear as a feeling of agitation and anxiety caused by the presence or imminence of danger. Some synonyms for fear are: fright, dread, terror, horror, panic, alarm, dismay, consternation, trepidation. Ø What if I’m not able to pay my bills on time? Ø What will happen to me if I get laid off from my job? Ø Will I find I have a life threatening disease when I go to the doctor for a checkup? Ø Am I really saved and going to heaven when I die? And the list goes on and on … God’s Word must be our standard: “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18).” The “perfect love” here is speaking of God’s love freely imparted to us who believe if we’re willing to receive it. And who isn’t familiar with this promise in the Bible: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Phil 4:6-7).” Job’s “friend” Eliphaz the Temanite said to him: “Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward (Job 5:7).” Yes, trouble will surely come. It cannot be averted. But when it does will we panic, or will we trust in the bed-rock-solid promises of God’s Word. Will we react with fear, trembling in uncertainty, or will we allow the Holy Spirit to undergird us with that supernatural confidence, peace and perfect love that only he can bring? Once again, it really all does come down to choosing to believe God’s precious promises for our lives… ---------------------------------------------------------------- spirituality motivation life history love http://discord.me/adsactly .jpg) |

| body | Numbers 13:25-31 (New King James Version) 25 And they returned from spying out the land after forty days … 28 Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large; moreover we saw the descendants of Anak (giants) there … 30 Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.” 31 But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.” Reflections: The Israelites were told by God to enter the Promised Land; that it was theirs to occupy and that He would go before them and assure them victory. Having spied out the land the Israelites became fearful; responding to what they saw instead of trusting in God’s directive. They walked by sight and not by faith. That entire generation lost out on the promise of God because of their unbelief. Only Joshua and Caleb came to enter into the Promised Land after having to wait another forty years; and all because of unbelief. The principle: When God says, “Go” our faith is often tested to see if we truly believe His promise. If we falter through unbelief -- we fail to obtain the blessing. If we hold fast to His promise then we can be assured that the blessing will surely come to pass. http://discord.me/adsactly It’s all about believing God’s directives. But without faith it is impossible to please him (Hebrews 11:6a) ….jpg) |

You won’t, because you can’t -- but the Holy Spirit can – and He will if we’ll simply ask believing. Sounds too easy, doesn’t it? We all know that self-help programs really don’t work in terms of eliminating our problems. At best they can only keep us on the “wagon” which has been “life” to some. Many folks wouldn’t have made it as far as they have without that help. I am thankful for programs like Alcoholics Anonymous; Overeaters anonymous, Emotions Anonymous and the like. They have kept men and women alive and hopeful -- but there’s so much, much more in Christ… The Holy Spirit brings us beyond what self-help programs, psychologists, psychiatrists and medications can do; He brings us out of our problems and into a complete, and lasting, victory. “If the Son makes you free you shall be free indeed (John 8:36)!” Let’s choose to allow God the good work of emotional/spiritual restoration in our lives that our verse speaks of today -- and to bring it to completion. Help is only a prayer away. Ask and you shall receive (Matt 7:7-8). Rather than just leaning on the arm of flesh for our support, let us learn to rest in the everlasting arms of God (Duet 33:27), who will complete it in us. Now, mind you, I’m not suggesting we will receive an instantaneous result when we pray in this way, but I can promise you that the work will have begun the instant we pray. | body | Malachi 3:5-6 (KJV) 5And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts. 6For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. James 1:17 (NKJV) 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. Reflections: A lot of true bible-believing Christians believe that somehow God changed His mind between the Old and the New Testament. That the fierce God of judgment and severe justice in the Old Testament somehow repented and that now somehow He’s nicer, softer and gentler. Truth of the matter is He’s always been nice, soft and gentle to those who have loved, honored and obeyed Him. But to those who hadn’t, His punishment was sometimes unimaginable. The writer of the book of Hebrews wrote, “It’s a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the Living God (Heb 10:31).” No, God hasn’t changed, not even a little bit. He hated sin in the Old Testament dispensation, and He still hates sin just as much in this post New Testament dispensation. Only difference is that now He’s restrained by His own self-imposed grace and mercy expressed through a loving invitation to receive the sacrifice of His sinless Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Make no mistake about it; justice will one day prevail and “the God who changes not” will stand as judge when the books are finally opened. The Christ rejecters and unsaved folks will be judged out of it according to their sin. Their punishment will be unfathomable as the Lake of Fire licks its salivating lips and opens its fiery throat in anticipation of its long awaited banquet. I think I’ll pass … thank you Jesus!!!.jpg) http://discord.me/adsactly |

| body | 1 John 2:1 (NKJV) 1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. Reflections: It was a lazy spring day and little Johnny was playing near a flower bed where a bumblebee was busily working. It was his first encounter with a bumblebee and he stood very still and watched. Johnny had been warned to keep his distance from bees. But that bee looked so soft and the colors were such a bright yellow and black; it was so pretty and didn’t seem to be paying any attention to Johnny. As Johnny watched a foolish notion came to him and he wondered, “How close can I get to that bee? Well Johnny never did find out. That bee stung him so fast, and the pain was so bad that he went running home screaming to mommy. Johnny had attempted a foolish feat of misguided courage and ended up with a life-lesson that would never be forgotten. We’ve all done the same thing as Johnny when it comes to sin. Oh, sin looks so attractive…that money just sitting there for the taking…that married person we’re so attracted to…those people we malign to make ourselves look good (1 John 2:16). Nothing will happen we rationalize. No one will ever find out, when all of a sudden Wham! We get stung and life is never the same again. Those that trusted and believed in us feel so betrayed and hurt. If we truly repent God will forgive us, but will those around us, the ones we’ve disappointed in the process of our selfish sin? Hopefully, once stung, like little Johnny, we will learn our lesson and all will be forgiven. But why take that chance? Sin is never worth its price to be paid. Let’s keep our distance from sin … (and bees too) ... http://discord.me/adsactly (I adapted the story about little Johnny and the bee from “the Sonshine Society.”).jpg) |

| body | 2 Corinthians 2:14 (NKJV) 14 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. Reflections: For those of us who will trust in Him, Jesus Christ will always bring us through in absolutely every situation, no matter what. He will never turn a deaf ear and will always make a way where there seems to be none. You say, “Well, yea, but not always when and in the way I want him to.” You’re absolutely correct! The reason is because he knows the beginning from the end, and we don’t! We’re not supposed to know all the details, “the just shall live by faith (Heb 10:38).” Christ gained the victory at the cross and was triumphant over the grave -- it simply could not hold the sinless Son of God. As a result the fragrance of Christ’s resurrection has spread throughout the ages and is just as sweet today as it was when sinners first sampled it on the Day of Pentecost and realized -- He’s alive! It’s the fragrance of death to the unrepentant, while at the same time the fragrance of eternal life to the spiritually hungry. This fragrance is what draws men to Christ. But do we oft stop and think that we too give off the very same scent. That’s right, the Holy Spirit, diffuses it through our life to be sampled by those around us. And if we will lift Jesus up and exalt him, he will be able to draw men to himself. I love the idea that God shares the process with us in that we get to witness and, He gets to save. We are truly a blessed, and a very special people in the earth … .jpg) |

Stay here and watch with Me.” 39 He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.” Reflections: The disciples had just come from the last supper with Jesus’ words, “Take eat, this is my body” and “This is my blood” still ringing in their ears. Peter, James and John found themselves in the Garden of Gethsemane being asked by Jesus to, “Wait and watch with me.” They fell asleep. Jesus went off a short distance to pray for he was exceedingly sorrowful as he knew his time had come to die. A painful emotional struggle ensued as Jesus wept his heart out. He was alone and the weight of the whole world literally loomed over him until blood seeped from his very pores. Perhaps many of us have also agonized before God and wept tears in an attempt to avert what we know must come to pass as it relates to a known call of God on our lives. Or perhaps there is something else we know we are being asked of God to do, but don’t want to go through the pain of doing so. It is at this point we must choose death to self for didn’t we also eat His flesh and drink His blood and enter into oneness with Him? It’s at times like this we mustn’t fall asleep in the garden. Our decision must be as Jesus’, “Nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.” You might be thinking, “Yea, but Peter, James and John fell asleep!” Yes, but they had not yet experienced the result of the day of Pentecost and the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit; we have… http://discord.me/adsactly DomenicScarpa.com .jpg) |

Reflections: Jesus had many fans, but not a whole lot of truly dedicated followers. They loved the excitement of being around Jesus and hearing his wonderful parables and miracles, but when it came to putting their money where their mouth was it was an entirely different story. Jesus taught that his followers must deny themselves, take up their cross and follow him. He taught that he must be more important that mother, father sister and brother! In short Jesus must occupy first, not second, place in the true Christian’s life. Our kingdom must be totally, willingly, turned over to Him as we receive a share in the glorious kingdom of God. If the Christian we looked up to the most died (be it a pastor, husband, wife, sibling or other) would we continue to stand strong or would we begin to slip into compromise? Whose shirttails are we hanging onto, Jesus’ or someone else’s? If it’s the latter perhaps it’s time to rethink our commitment and to decide, once and for all, whether or not we will truly eat and drink of the body and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ … http://discord.me/adsactly.gif) ------------------------------------------------------------------ |

| body | 1 Corinthians 10:12-13 (New King James Version) 12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. Reflections: These are familiar verses of scripture, although we usually don’t associate verse 12 with verse 13. We typically use verse 12 to rebuke someone who seems to be over-inflated by self; and we use verse 13 to encourage one another when we’re trying to make our way though what seems like a time of trial or testing. Actually these verses flow into one another and are exhorting us to not make the same mistakes that the Israelites made in the wilderness. What was their mistake? They lusted after evil things (1 Cor 10:1-10). What things? · They become idolaters. They had Aaron make a Golden calf to worship and sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play and commit sexual immorality. · They were not satisfied with God’s provision for their lives. · They constantly complained. These attitudes led to verse 12 where it says, “Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall” referring to the Israelites attitude toward God. Verse 13 is attempting to warn us not to be like them. It’s all a test! And God doesn’t want us to fail! And we don’t have to because “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” So let’s hang in there and hold steady by faith learning to trust God in all things … http://discord.me/adsactly ------------------------------------------------------------------ .jpg) |

They had Aaron make a Golden calf to worship and sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play and commit sexual immorality.\n\n \n\n· They were not satisfied with God’s provision for their lives.\n\n \n\n· They constantly complained.\n\n \n\nThese attitudes led to verse 12 where it says, “Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall” referring to the Israelites attitude toward God.\n\n \n\n \n\nVerse 13 is attempting to warn us not to be like them. It’s all a test! And God doesn’t want us to fail! And we don’t have to because “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”\n\n \n\n \n\nSo let’s hang in there and hold steady by faith learning to trust God in all things …\n\nhttp://discord.me/adsactly\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n------------------------------------------------------------------\n\n .jpg)",

| body | Matthew 4:8-10 (NKJV) 8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me …” Reflections: The world we live in is the devils turf. He couldn’t have offered it to Jesus if it wasn’t. Satan was cast out of heaven and into the earth. Jesus said, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven (Lk 10:18a).” As Christians we are now the devil’s enemy in the earth. If we don’t think there’s a war going on aimed at our destruction, we are dangerously mistaken. Jesus said it himself, “In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world (John 16:33b).” One of Satan’s most insidious ploys is to sow confusion in the believer’s mind about God’s integrity; just like he did in the garden with Adam and Eve. We must be careful not to get our kingdoms mixed up. We must never attribute to God that which is of the devil. “For God is not the author of confusion (1 Cor 14:23a)” and confusion is exactly what the devil specializes in. For example, can you hear him say: · If God loves you why are you sick? · If God is so good why did your loved one die? · If God loves you why is everything going wrong in your life? · If God loves you why is your life so miserable? And the list goes on and on … Sickness, sin and death are the result of the fall. God tempts no man with evil. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly (John 10:10). “Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone (Jas 1:13).” We must make up our minds that God is good as the Bible clearly states, for if we don’t faith cannot and will not work in us. How can it if we don’t believe, and embrace, the truth about God? As a result we’ll become more and more convinced that God doesn’t love us … This is truly insidious … and it is of Satan! http://discord.me/adsactly ------------------------------------------------------------------ |

| body | Judges 1:18-21 (KJV) 18 Also Judah took Gaza with the coast thereof, and Askelon with the coast thereof, and Ekron with the coast thereof. 19 And the Lord was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron. 20 And they gave Hebron unto Caleb, as Moses said: and he expelled thence the three sons of Anak. 21 And the children of Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusites that inhabited Jerusalem; but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Benjamin in Jerusalem unto this day. Reflections: When I first read this verse I was taken aback, saddened and disappointed. I just couldn’t believe that after all God had done in defeating so many of their enemies that they just stopped short of ultimately overcoming all their foes. It’s not that they couldn’t take the land … they just didn’t! God had set the whole of the Promised Land before the children of Israel with explicit instruction to utterly destroy all the wicked nations that dwelt therein: “Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree: And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place (Deut 12:2-5).” Whether it was because they were just tired of fighting, or they were satisfied with what they already had, they fell far short of God’s perfect plan for them as a nation. I can’t help but wonder about the disappointment God must have felt having had such a wonderful plan for his children fall short. The result was disastrous: “And they left all the commandments of the Lord their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal. And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger (2 Kings 17:16-18).” What are the reasons that we, the blood-bought children of God, fall short of God’s full provision for us? Have we, like the Israelites grown weary of the fight, willing to settle for just a portion of our full inheritance in Christ? Have we too become complacent towards God, digressing to a place where we are drawn away by our lusts to the things of this world; more than to the things of God? If so, perhaps it’s time to stop - and to reconsider our ways … http://discord.me/adsactly .jpg) |

| body | Hebrews 10:25 (AMP) 25Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching. Reflections: The word church in the Greek is ekklēsia meaning “the called out ones,” those that have been called out of the world’s system (kingdom) and into the kingdom of God. Wherever Christians gather together is, from a biblical frame of reference, “church”. You may attend a mega-church, a small house church, or just a gathering of two or more Christians who meet somewhere; anywhere. The point of this verse is to encourage us to keep on fellowshipping with believers to the end that we might be a blessing one to another. After all there is only one true body (church) (Eph 4:4) in the earth and it is made up of true blood-bought believers, no matter where they fellowship. When we fellowship it allows us to build up, stir up, and cheer up each other in Christ. It’s our opportunity to learn to apply our spiritual gifts, allowing us to mature and to increase in the Spirit. Oh, we can go it alone, so we won’t get hurt, but it gets a bit dry out there all alone. I know; I’ve done it for long periods of time more than once. Truth of the matter is that we grow spiritual muscle by exercising what the Holy Spirit teaches us, with one another, through fellowship. This is not a “you must do this” verse. Grace alone is what saves us. It’s simply good sound biblical advise for us all. As always, we get to choose ….jpg) http://discord.me/adsactly |

Reflections: The above is a small portion of a song King David wrote to glorify God on the day when the Lord had delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul. In it he speaks of God’s conditional responses. This sounds like a strong correlation to 2 Cor 9:6: “[Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings.” The difference being that in today’s verse we are considering God’s responses to us, and in 2 Cor 9:6 we are considering our responses to one another. Once again we’re brought back to the truth that we are created in God’s image; love, integrity, purity, giving and blessing. Our problem of course is sin and so these responses don’t flow from us like they do from God. We have to constantly be reminded through the reading of God’s written word, the leading of the Holy Spirit and fellowship with the saints (God’s born-again company of believers). The wonder of it all is that when we do function in our heart, like God desires of us, we find wonderful peace, blessing, and unity. We must remember that His word never comes back void ….jpg) http://discord.me/adsactly |

In it he speaks of God’s conditional responses.\n\n \n\nThis sounds like a strong correlation to 2 Cor 9:6:\n\n“[Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings.”\n\n \n\nThe difference being that in today’s verse we are considering God’s responses to us, and in 2 Cor 9:6 we are considering our responses to one another. Once again we’re brought back to the truth that we are created in God’s image; love, integrity, purity, giving and blessing.\n\n \n\nOur problem of course is sin and so these responses don’t flow from us like they do from God. We have to constantly be reminded through the reading of God’s written word, the leading of the Holy Spirit and fellowship with the saints (God’s born-again company of believers).\n\n \n\nThe wonder of it all is that when we do function in our heart, like God desires of us, we find wonderful peace, blessing, and unity. We must remember that His word never comes back void ….jpg)\n\nhttp://discord.me/adsactly",

| body | Matthew 11:28-30 (New King James Version) 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Reflections: Until a soul comes to Christ they carry around a cumulative burden of sin which grows greater as each day passes. It literally sucks the life out of the unsaved and drives them to do something, anything just to numb the pain, i.e. psychologists, psychiatrists, substance abuse, ungodly sexual relationships, perversion, and on and on the list goes. Some folks head for religion, hoping perhaps it will ease the pain and relieve some of the burden they’re bearing. Unfortunately religion preaches good works and behavior modification which can never truly lighten the load. The result is that the burden just doesn’t go away. As a matter of fact it gets even heaver now that the person is striving religiously; struggling to be good and to earn their way into relief. Real relief comes to a person when they genuinely come to Christ. This requires an awareness of, and a deep desire to turn away from sin and its consequences. The Bible gives a very clear pattern for becoming saved. It’s found in Acts 2:37-38. Although much of the church has sadly modified this pattern, it remains unquestionably the clearest salvation instruction in the entire Bible. Here it is: “Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” 38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38).” This biblical pattern requires only a heart surrendered to Christ – not good works! One of the ways we can know it (salvation) is working is by measuring the weight of the burden we now bear. Does our burden remain heavy, or hasn’t it in fact become easier and lighter -- just as Jesus promised? Jesus always keeps His promise … |

| body | Matthew 6:22-23 (AMP) 22 The eye is the lamp of the body. So if your eye is sound, your entire body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is unsound, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the very light in you [your conscience] is darkened, how dense is that darkness! Reflections: What a precious gift the eye is. Through it light enters into our bodies and brings to life everything around us. There is so much we want to see and do in the earth. In the Book of Proverbs we read, “Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied (Prov 27:10).” King Solomon withheld nothing from his eyes, “Anything my eyes saw and wanted, I got for myself. My mind was pleased with everything I did. And this happiness was the reward for all my hard work (Eccl 2:10).” What we see can have an incredible impact on our lives. What we allow our eyes to behold can either bring life and blessing or death and cursing. The eye is the window to the soul and what images we store up internally can and does affect our lives in some way. Why is it that the wholesome images we take in seem to flee rather quickly, but the dark or evil images seem to burn themselves so deeply into our soul; resisting expulsion and bringing torment with them? I can’t help but thinking about the words that children’s song, Be careful little eyes what you see. Be careful little eyes what you see. There’s a Father up above and He’s looking down in love. So be careful little eyes what you see. We would serve ourselves well to choose carefully the images we allow through our eye-gate and into our souls … http://discord.me/adsactly |

Reflections: Peter was so sure He was ready to serve the master. He would soon realize that he wasn’t so ready after all. He needed to undergo a conversion. When we first get saved it takes a while for us to figure out what really happened to us. This is a time of conversion, or changing from one state to another. Salvation is instantaneous while conversion is a process. After a while (and a few trials and testing’s) as we fellowship with other believers, study our bibles, and pray we begin to grow SPIRITUAL roots as we receive nourishment from the indwelling Holy Spirit. The disciples were one up on us having already been schooled in the Old Testament all their lives. Perhaps this is why Peter, once he humbled down, could undergo a relatively quick conversion. He didn’t have to take a period of time to understand biblical truths – he’d been applying them all his life. Unlike us, he and the other disciples had no New Testament to read -- it wouldn’t be written for another 40 to 60 years. Once the Holy Spirit began imparting “spiritual” wisdom to Peter he was now ready to do what Jesus asked of him; “strengthen thy brethren.” And that’s exactly what he did. He gave his entire life to the brethren, just like Jesus did. This same calling is on our lives also. There is no higher calling in Christ than to give one’s life for another (Jn 15:13). It’s normal to only want for ourselves in the beginning, but there comes a point where it’s time to give. Our spiritual gifts, experiences, time, and love are all meant to be shared in order to “strengthen the brethren…” https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?ui=2&ik=1eef971fec&view=fimg&th=14bee77ef5ac161f&attid=0.2&disp=emb&attbid=ANGjdJ_sAvHf2ilIX8Vs0r9TdUtMn4p4xtLrfdQ04-LHc63yINHHSFLlRcSp6fjK6boW9nWiJgrLxIvfU0HckRv9HH9cTcwqJLSotU-CAQslsTEszJMFVxy2O8JQKMY&sz=w518-h208&ats=1517233076140&rm=14bee77ef5ac161f&zw&atsh=1 |

| body | Luke 10:17-20 (KJV) 17And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. 18And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 19Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. Reflections: Sometimes, amidst all the confusion here on planet earth, we lose sight of what spiritual life is all about. Just think, we're going to be with Jesus, in His glorious kingdom . forever! Now that's something to rejoice over! We don't know a whole lot about what that will be like, but we do know that "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him (1 Cor 2:9)." We're also told that God will wipe away all tears from our eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away (Rev 21:4). That sounds really great! In the meantime there's a spiritual war raging around us every day. If we've learned how to deal with it, it too can be pretty exciting, because we know we win (just like the disciple's in our verse today)! Jesus Christ gained a victory over all the works of the devil and then handed over His authority to us so that we, In His name, could also be victorious over all demonic activity in the earth (Eph 6:12). This warfare is of course for the souls of men. It is said that the angels crowd around the banisters of heaven looking down on the theater of earth. The Bible tells us that there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repents (Lk 15:10). We can only begin to imagine the cheers and excitement that swell from these curious beings when someone gives their heart to Jesus (1 Pet 1:12). We too, like the disciples of old, rejoice not only for the victory we have in Christ here on earth, but more importantly because we know that our names too are indelibly written in heaven ... | body | Matthew 10:37-39 (NKJV) 37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it. Reflections: In the natural, if someone finally rises up and finds their niche in life, most folks would rejoice with them; but not Jesus. To become a follower of Jesus is antithetical to the way the world operates. The kingdom of God functions in total contrast to this world’s ungodly society. In God’s kingdom what’s down is up, and what’s up is down: “And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ. But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted (Matt 23:10-12).” To humble oneself and to serve is considered great in Jesus’ eyes. “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you (Matt 5:11-12).” This really goes against the grain of the flesh. But this one is the clincher: “bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. 29 To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either. 30 Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back (Lk 6:28-30). A lot of Christians make up a lot of excuses to get around these commands of Jesus; but they are what they are, and they mean what they say. We say, “This stuff is not natural!” No … it’s supernatural, and without the Holy Spirit operating within us this calling cannot be sustained. But oh how sweet it is when we surrender it all to Jesus -- and do it his way … ------------------------------------------------------------------ |
