| title | QUARKCHAIN - 1 000 000 TPS !!! |
| body | Quarkchain is a blockchain that is looking to use sharding for providing a high capacity peer to peer transactional system. Now the problem that they want to solve is that of scalability and security. And as we know, they don't always work well together when it comes to blockchain. First of all, Remember CryptoKitties? Yeah, if CryptoKitties would have purred on top of Quarkchain that crash would have never happened. So they found an awesome solution that allows to balance both these needs by separating the two main functions of the chain in two separate layers. By taking this approach, the aim is to accomplish the trade off between the three pilars of blockchain: decentralization, scalability and security. If they can achieve that, they will be able to achieve around 1 000 000 transactions per second. Before getting to know very well the overall architecture of the platform, let's take a look at some of the key comune features. 1) The two layer blockchains So the first layer is perceived as the elastic sharding blockchains - a set of blockchains able to expand and contract accordingly to the requests. The second layer - the root blockchain - is set to confirm the blocks created on the first layer. Like a team of workers and a team of managers. The first team does all the hard work and the second one confirms the validity of what their "subordinates" have accomplished. 2) Market driven collaborative mining The idea here has been designed with game theory framework for incentives. So the hashpowers are ultimately incentivised to be distributed evenly amongts shards. The first layer that creates the blocks will receive less than 50% of the hashpower. The rest is allocated to the root chain to ensure the security by preventing the double spending attack. The theory mentioned above does not imply that the hashpowers "play" with each other. It is actually based on the mathematical representation defined as the "zero sum-game" in which every participant's gain or loss of utility is exactly balanced by the losses or gains of the utility of the other participants. Wait, what? To much theory. Alright. The base line is that all the shards are equal. 1 Tb of hashpower owned by a miner is divided to the two layers: the second one gets (at least) 51%, the first gets the rest. The remaining of ~490 Gb are equally divided to all the needed (let's suppose) 100 shards. Every each shard will be compiled with a hashpower of 4,9 Gb. 3) Horizontal scalability A super full node (as will be one of the 21 nodes in the EOS network) in this case is created by a cluster of honest smaller nodes. The idea is to reduce costs as a super-full node is very expensive and to assure decentralisation as the hashpower is in the hands of many distributed miners. 4) Cross shard transactions These transactions can be issued at any time and confirmed within minutes. So it's all about a high throughput element. 5) Simplified account management The idea here is that you end up having multiple addresses. They found a solution of creating a unique account that manages all your shards. Now let's have a look at the overall architecture. On the first layer we have all the miner blockchains or shards. And basically, this process is the subset of all the transactions independently. The number of shards will increase as the number of shards increase which can be processed in parallel. The second layer or Quarkchain is the root chain. And this primary function of the root chain is really to confirm all the blocks from shards chains, but it does not process the actual transactions itself. It also allows for two types of transactions: the first type the in-shard and the second one are cross shard which provides high efficiency and scalability. The in-shard transactions occur between addresses of the same shard. What sets Quarkchain apart from other high troughput solutions is ultimately its ability to conduct cross-shard transactions. And so the throughput of the cross-shard transactions systems syswill scale linearly as the number of shards increases. Now this also emphases the fact that we talked about a lot of shards and ultimately we must be seeing lots of different wallets in here as well with multiple different balances that you need to keep on top of. So here what they also have is a small wallet. And to ultimately simplify that whole process of keeping track of what's in each of the shards and what is in sort of the main chains. The idea here is that the smart wallet allows all the addresses owned by the user in any given shard to be accesible via a single private key. So in teory the user may have many addresses associated with this pair of shards, but to address this issue what happens here is that Quarkchain will employ both a primary and secondary account within the wallet. So the primary account contains all the addresses of the users default shards, while the second one manages the remaining addresses in other shards. And so, to simplify that management of the funds whatever transaction is executed in a secondary account will ultimately revert the remaining ballance back into the primary account. Therefore the users balance will then remain in the primary account, ultimately eliminating any confusion that could be caused by having multiple balances across multiple different shards. But this takes us on to mining. The sole means of transacting within the Quarkchain ecosystem is the token itself. It's also a supply and a reward for miners. And so the idea here is that there will be nodes and clusters for mining on the blockchain platform. Now clusters are basically multiple nodes forming as a cluster running as a super full node. The idea here is the super nodes can be formed without having to run any expensive super computer type hardware. And so this actually provides small individuals within that space to be able to also have a competitive edge in mining by ultimately clustering up with our peers to really represent what is also seen as a super computer. Now one of the other beneficial elements here is that Quarkchain will also support smart contracts on the Ethereum Virtual Machine. So this really really enables future compatibility with existing Dapps so they can easily move over on to the Quarkchain blockchain which will then also benefit them with the increase scalability that the blockchain provides. Now let's actually have a look at the overall roadmap in terms of how long will it take to achieve those 1 million transactions per second. So far we have the testnet 1.0 live which is reportedly proving to do around 2279 TPS. Now the next milestone that we're expecting around June time in Q2 is gonna be the public testnet which is aiming to achieve around 10.000 TPS. Followed by the mainnet launch which is at the end of the year which is looking at around 100.000 TPS and ultimately a year from now the actual Quark 2.0 platform should be delivered which is looking to achieve the 1.000.000 transactions per second. Now let's continue and get a look at the team. The most important part when reviewing an ICO is the team that has to proove that they really can achieve what they. So all members of team have a lot of experience which recommend them as professionals in the field. They have experience previously in holding CTO positions, experiences on previously sort of cofounding organisations as well as when I look at the team they are all quite heavy with research scientist who have significant backgrounds within high distributed systems and performance systems. Now as we look at the actual CEO and founder, Qi Zhou, he actually has a software engineering background. Has worked for the likes of Google, Facebook and DEL EMC where he has been responsible for developing high throughput solutions. If we continue on looking on the team, we can acknowledge that they have specific purpose such as the CMO, Chief Marketing Office looking solely at the marketing aspect. This is a must as every project needs to be pushed across various organisations and ultimately to form partnerships as well. We also have individuals who are looking after the development business side.. So they have a good all star team which makes me very excited and confident. Now, as we move further in we also got a number of advisors. So let's start initially with Leo Wang who is the head of pre angel VC. We have crypto investors and venture capitalists within board as well as Aron Predice professor of electrical engeneering at Virginia Tech. But the two that really stand out to me are Bill Moore who's the founder and CEO of DST which was later acquired by DEL EMC. So is interesting because clearly we can see that there is some sorth of link already there where Qi Zhou has already previously worked for EMC and Bill Moore is also part of the EMC going forward. If you don't know what DEL EMC is, they are basically known for selling data storage, information security, virtualisation analytics, cloud computing, an array of services that can be leveraged by a high throughput solution. Now the second one that I want to bring out is Mike Miller, founder and chief scientist at IBM cloud. And this is really interesting because IBM cloud is really about delivering global scalable database services built for speed of web and mobile applications. So these two partnerships really do excites me because these are very large organisations which ultimately are known for being professional service organisations. These are the types or organisations which other organisations will take on board to perform a certain function or activity or to provide a professional service within a certain area. So certainly by having this type or organisations onboard it is a way to actually cross sell your services through their professional services. So I gave you 1 000 000 reasons why this ICO is the best one of 2018. The most important part when reviewing an ICO is the team that has to proove that they really can achieve what they. \nSo all members of team have a lot of experience which recommend them as professionals in the field. They have experience previously in holding CTO positions, experiences on previously sort of cofounding organisations as well as when I look at the team they are all quite heavy with research scientist who have significant backgrounds within high distributed systems and performance systems. \nNow as we look at the actual CEO and founder, Qi Zhou, he actually has a software engineering background. Has worked for the likes of Google, Facebook and DEL EMC where he has been responsible for developing high throughput solutions.\nIf we continue on looking on the team, we can acknowledge that they have specific purpose such as the CMO, Chief Marketing Office looking solely at the marketing aspect. This is a must as every project needs to be pushed across various organisations and ultimately to form partnerships as well. We also have individuals who are looking after the development business side..\nSo they have a good all star team which makes me very excited and confident. \nNow, as we move further in we also got a number of advisors. \nIf you don't know what DEL EMC is, they are basically known for selling data storage, information security, virtualisation analytics, cloud computing, an array of services that can be leveraged by a high throughput solution. \nNow the second one that I want to bring out is Mike Miller, founder and chief scientist at IBM cloud. So certainly by having this type or organisations onboard it is a way to actually cross sell your services through their professional services.\nSo I gave you 1 000 000 reasons why this ICO is the best one of 2018. \nCheck their online profiles as follows: \nWebsite: https://quarkchain.io/\nTwitter: https://twitter.com/Quark_Chain\nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/quarkchain/\nSteemit: https://steemit.com/@quarkchain\nTelegram: https://t.me/quarkchainio",

| title | QUARKCHAIN - 1 000 000 TPS !!! |
| body | Quarkchain is a blockchain that is looking to use sharding for providing a high capacity peer to peer transactional system. Followed by the mainnet launch which is at the end of the year which is looking at around 100.000 TPS and ultimately a year from now the actual Quark 2.0 platform should be delivered which is looking to achieve the 1.000.000 transactions per second. | title | |
| body | What I like the most about all the NEP-5 tokens in general is that they try to build an actual ecosystem, a community around NEO that grows as a family using mainly services and products of their platform. Choosing NEO as the platform to develop on was the best choice you could ever make. This airdrop supports even more the idea of creating a community and therefore encourages more and more people to join and become a part of it. Awesome indeed |
