body![Reality vs Grounded.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYrRGXdUdtQgVi5RpEu6RyBCURB29CjPZYUgPXzxvinW3/Reality%20vs%20Grounded.jpg) It is true that problems pop up and that most of the times you have to solve them on the spot because the IMMEDIATE COST would be huge. For example, avoid losses from over production in a restaurant. It happens that in one day the restaurant produces much more food than it is sold. So, the next day, the restaurant decreases its normal production to minimum in order to compensate the over production from the previous day and avoid losses. This is an urgent (short term) problem, a fact that needs an immediate solution. But, a fact is also that the problem doesn’t get solved because although the losses are REDUCED, they are not completely eliminated. So, there are still losses. In addition, the EVENT keeps REPEATING itself, meaning there are days when demand is much smaller than food production. It is a repetitive problem which means a long term cost. Moreover, it also creates UNSATISFIED demand. At this point, unfortunately, the business owner doesn’t see unmet demand as an important FACTOR to cut the losses from overproduction and eventually, for influencing sales and profits. So, there is no logical, immediate argument to prove that unmet demand is a factor for increasing sales and profits. Thus, there is no IMMEDIATE answer or solution that comes to mind to solve the problem of losses from over production or unsatisfied demand. This means, the business owner perceives all the problems individually and DIFFERENT because time and space are relative, meaning every time you change POSITION or events around you change in the same space (e.g. restaurant), then you look at things differently and try to solve problems separately according to your relative position in the business. This means that according to the business owner’s perception, overproduction is a problem that has nothing to do with unmet demand. They are 2 different problems that need 2 distinct solutions. But, [I show in this article](https://steemit.com/optimizeresources/@mihaeladragan/how-to-use-einstein-s-relativity-theory-to-speed-up-the-process-of-finding-solutions-in-a-small-business) that once time and space disappear in the mind, ideas and solutions pop up. This is the Relativity Theory and applies to YOU and to everyone no matter if you see all the problems in your business INDIVIDUALLY or not. This is how the mind works and has always worked and will always work for every single human being on this planet. This means that no matter if you see all your business problems and activities separately or as a connected system, your mind will ALWAYS produce ideas and solutions in the same way: by CONNECTING different thoughts, ideas, factors that come from different times and spaces no matter if you think you are a pragmatic, realistic person, no matter if you are strategic or not, if you think you are smart or not, if you are a dreamer or not. Our surrounding REALITY is a mirror of the MIND, this means that if the mind produces solutions when time and space disappear and FACTS get connected, then REALITY works based on the same principle, meaning ALL problems, facts, events, activities in the business are CONNECTED even if IMMEDIATELY and apparently you cannot see it with your naked eye and they all contribute together (not individually) to the END RESULT which is sales and profitability. In our situation, this means that there is a CONNECTION between unmet demand and overproduction, between unmet demand and profitability and sales even if we don’t know and see exactly how. Maybe the connection is shallow or maybe it is meaningful. But what is certain is that we have a BIG problem: no profitability because of over production and we are in the UNKNOWN: we don’t know exactly what the solution is and how to start solving it. That is why, if we have such recurring events (unmet demand) it is our OBLIGATION to DIG deeper behind it to look for a solution. And since time and space are relative and disappear when solutions pop up, it means there MUST be some relevant information BEHIND unmet demand that you will find out that will help you make lasting, relevant solutions for increasing profitability. This means having the EXPLORATION attitude: be willing to look BEYOND facts, to look for the facts behind facts. So, if you think that REALISTIC is seeing problems separately, it is indeed a REALITY as you need to solve it NOW, but in the long run it becomes an ILLUSION because the AMOUNT of problems that come up is overwhelming if you deal with them INDIVIDUALLY, SEPARETELY. So, it is much EASIER to find ONE solution for a multiple of PROBLEMS or situations that happen at the same time when you see things as connected. Your reality is an illusion not because your problems do no exist, but because your approach of solving them is extremely inefficient: the INDIVIDUALITY of the approach MAGNIFIES the weight and importance of ONE problem which OVERWHELMS you and creates EMOTIONAL stress and pressure which creates further a lot of confusion and lack of clarity for how to deal with it. For this reason, you employ MULTITASKING in order to handle them ALL at once, right? However, when you do this, the FOCUS in on HANDLING tasks. As a result, you lose focus from other things: clients and serving them properly and you are UNABLE to sort tasks out and see which is relevant which is not, which is costly and which is not. You take them ALL in. On the other hand, when you are GROUNDED in reality, you still acknowledge your problems, they don’t go away, but you SEE them ALL at once, not separately and you find one solution for all. You still allow yourself to improvise on an individual problem (e.g. avoid losses from over production) on the spot, but you also look for its connection with unmet demand and other factors in the business. When you see them all at once, you have the necessary DETACHMENT to see each INDIVIDUAL problem SMALLER because they all fit a bigger picture. As a result, when a problem seems SMALLER, it doesn’t create the overwhelm, there is very little EMOTIONAL stress and thus, the mind stays clear and has more objectivity about how to deal with them (NO erratic behaviour). In addition, when you see them all at once, you can keep track of their CHANGES because your business is a constant moving and changing environment. When you MOVE towards something, it becomes BIGGER. It is physics, we all know this. When it comes to problems and you MOVE your attention and your physical body towards ONE problem, it becomes BIGGER, it creates the impression of feeling overwhelmed by it, thus the URGENT feeling of solving it on the spot. When you move away from a problem, it becomes SMALLER. Thus, it creates the impression that it is easier to handle, so there is no EMOTIONAL stress and urgency to jump on it, you spend little PHYSICAL EFFORT, ENERGY, you create better solutions and make better decisions. Moving away from a problem means to create the necessary detachment in order to have a better perspective. It doesn’t mean to ignore it. So, if you want to be REALISTIC, you will always have to deal with problems and facts separately which means ignoring the passing of time which will make you stay STUCK in the PRESENT moment which is NOT the same as living in the PRESENT and be grounded. Being realistic and stuck in PRESENT means keep doing the same things over and over again, get the same results and stay with the same problems and run in all directions to solve EACH of them INDIVIDUALLY. Being grounded and live in present means seeing reality and problems as dynamic, keep your POSITION without running in all directions and adjust accordingly to the CHANGES in the DYNAMICS, not in the ISOLATED, INDIVIDUAL problems like in the case of being realistic. Have a nice day! Mihaela

body![Future.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQme3f62SRLfgXHfM7n2BDC64YQYkYtJysQnFZjSidWaWKA/Future.jpg) A business owner deals with 1 million problems that happen at the same time on a daily basis. In addition, he cannot anticipate what the next day will bring. The 1st factor (**multiple problems**) keeps him busy and the 2nd one (**uncertainty**) keep him WORRIED. As a result, the IMMEDIATE attention and focus are stuck only in TODAY, in the right now. The thinking is only SHORT TERM with a total inability to see in the future. Hence, there is no LONG TERM vision. From here he gets the urge feeling, need to solve and deal with the multitude of problems. So, he employs multitasking, improvisations and combines them with high SPEED to handle the overwhelming and unpredictable reality. So, any incentive to think or see about long term in terms of goals, a bigger vision or daring plan is rejected on the spot as he really doesn’t know what to expect from tomorrow, he cannot anticipate what is coming next in the SHORT TERM, let alone in 3 or 6, 12 months. When we cannot anticipate most of what is coming in the short term (tomorrow or within a week), it means we treat most of our daily activity as NEW. If it is right to approach every daily workload as NEW because it looks different and difficult to anticipate, then in general we wouldn’t recall PAST experiences in order to handle more or less similar or difficult problems and situations in the PRESENT. If our daily workload was that NEW, VARIABLE and IMPOSSIBLE to reorganize, than we wouldn’t have to recall PAST experiences from different businesses or jobs in order to validate our point of view to be multitasking and handle the workload just the way it is with no intention to modify it because it shouldn’t be any similarity between the 2 of them (between past and present). The point is that time is passing anyway and we always PROJECT our past experiences into our PRESENT ones, otherwise we wouldn’t LEARN at all and we wouldn’t make PROGRESS, we would stay children forever at the level of our understanding about the world within and around us, we would always look at our experiences with a sense of wonder as if they were something NEW. Think about LIFE in general. If you compare your current situation to 5 years or 10 or 20 years ago, do you consider that you have more EXPERIENCE or that you are in better position than before? No matter if this means: earning more money or you are in a better relationship, better health or able to solve more difficult problems, are more self-confident, have a better intuition or sense people better, or have particular skills etc. In at least one area of your life, you are better off. This is because you have, what they call, a LIFE EXPERIENCE which is a series of happenings that keep accumulating that taught you to make progress in a way or another. So, no matter what you do, time is passing anyway during which you accumulate a series of experiences from which, sooner or later, you learn particular things that help you move forward and make progress. You take with yourself some things from the PAST and apply them in more or less similar and different situations in PRESENT. No matter how RANDOM, busy, different our activity looks like from day to day, no matter if I am just a commercial worker with no relevant business experience, ALL these SMALL activities that we do on a daily basis are ACCUMULATING and time is passing anyway, no matter what we do and no matter if we believe they are relevant or not. Since past experiences are relevant to keep learning and make progress in life, it also means that in our daily ROUTINES there are factors, happenings that also have happened in the PAST (one day or one year before), they repeat themselves and that are relevant for the results we experience in the PRESENT. This means that when our daily activity seems difficult to anticipate or when it seems NEW and VARIABLE is actually REPEATING in a way or another, but our IMMEDIATE PERCEPTION cannot see the repetition, cannot distinguish patterns in a variable environment. Our immediate attention cannot perceive repetitive facts because we haven’t kept track of their happening in the PAST. As a result, different facts, information, happenings keep popping up as they were something NEW, as out of the blue. At this point one is totally unable to see in the FUTURE, to think in terms of LONG TERM plans, goals and vision. Your mind simply cannot imagine what could happen in the future, you cannot picture and you really dont know what to DO. Long term is just an abstract term that just doesnt exist. The mind doesnt have any context for it. This is because the majority of us are SELF TAUGHT, we have learnt everything we know from our own experience, through massive action, practice and constant adaptation and improvisation on the spot when things didnt go well. And everything happened in the PRESENT moment, not by thinking about the future. By constantly improvising and handling things with multitasking, you always deal with a problem as it happens in the NOW, in present and hence, with the symptoms of the problem, with the effects. Because you dont look in the PAST to retrace your steps, of different happenings and events, you are totally unable to identify the cause. You are not able to think in terms of CAUSE (something that I did in the PAST) and EFFECTS (something that will happen in the FUTURE) for your actions. So, if you dont have the habit of thinking in terms of cause and effect for the things that you do and that are happening around you, it is unlikely you will think about LONG TERM results. This means you dont have goals in your life, no vision, no direction. You will always be stuck in the PRESENT without making progress dealing with the same problems over and over again and you don’t even see it. Not being able to identify patterns from PAST leads to lack of vision for the FUTURE. On the other hand, if you keep track of the small happenings from the PAST, you will be able to anticipate some of the facts, activities from TOMORROW and then in a week and in time, your anticipation ability will extend far faraway in the FUTURE. And this is called having a big goal, a vision, a direction for the work that you do right now, thinking, seeing and anticipating in the LONG TERM. It is the ability of your mind to see in the future based on the natural process of learning by keeping track of past events and adjusting in the present accordingly. When you are able to anticipate your activities from tomorrow, you will organize yourself better today in order to meet them. And the same applies for that LONG TERM goal: when you have that great idea in the mind, you will organize yourself better today in order to make it happen and in time, you wont feel so overwhelmed by your work anymore. A long term goal, idea or vision gives SHAPE that could integrate the CHAOS in your work. As a result, the chaos would organize itself and in time it will lead to more HARMONY in the present moment. So, he employs multitasking, improvisations and combines them with high SPEED to handle the overwhelming and unpredictable reality.\n\nSo, any incentive to think or see about long term in terms of goals, a bigger vision or daring plan is rejected on the spot as he really doesn’t know what to expect from tomorrow, he cannot anticipate what is coming next in the SHORT TERM, let alone in 3 or 6, 12 months.\n\nWhen we cannot anticipate most of what is coming in the short term (tomorrow or within a week), it means we treat most of our daily activity as NEW.\n\nIf it is right to approach every daily workload as NEW because it looks different and difficult to anticipate, then in general we wouldn’t recall PAST experiences in order to handle more or less similar or difficult problems and situations in the PRESENT. \n\nIf our daily workload was that NEW, VARIABLE and IMPOSSIBLE to reorganize, than we wouldn’t have to recall PAST experiences from different businesses or jobs in order to validate our point of view to be multitasking and handle the workload just the way it is with no intention to modify it because it shouldn’t be any similarity between the 2 of them (between past and present). \n\nThe point is that time is passing anyway and we always PROJECT our past experiences into our PRESENT ones, otherwise we wouldn’t LEARN at all and we wouldn’t make PROGRESS, we would stay children forever at the level of our understanding about the world within and around us, we would always look at our experiences with a sense of wonder as if they were something NEW. \n\nThink about LIFE in general. If you compare your current situation to 5 years or 10 or 20 years ago, do you consider that you have more EXPERIENCE or that you are in better position than before?\n\nNo matter if this means: earning more money or you are in a better relationship, better health or able to solve more difficult problems, are more self-confident, have a better intuition or sense people better, or have particular skills etc. \n\nIn at least one area of your life, you are better off. This is because you have, what they call, a LIFE EXPERIENCE which is a series of happenings that keep accumulating that taught you to make progress in a way or another.\n\nSo, no matter what you do, time is passing anyway during which you accumulate a series of experiences from which, sooner or later, you learn particular things that help you move forward and make progress. You take with yourself some things from the PAST and apply them in more or less similar and different situations in PRESENT.\n\nNo matter how RANDOM, busy, different our activity looks like from day to day, no matter if I am just a commercial worker with no relevant business experience, ALL these SMALL activities that we do on a daily basis are ACCUMULATING and time is passing anyway, no matter what we do and no matter if we believe they are relevant or not.\n\nSince past experiences are relevant to keep learning and make progress in life, it also means that in our daily ROUTINES there are factors, happenings that also have happened in the PAST (one day or one year before), they repeat themselves and that are relevant for the results we experience in the PRESENT. This means that when our daily activity seems difficult to anticipate or when it seems NEW and VARIABLE is actually REPEATING in a way or another, but our IMMEDIATE PERCEPTION cannot see the repetition, cannot distinguish patterns in a variable environment. \n\nOur immediate attention cannot perceive repetitive facts because we haven’t kept track of their happening in the PAST. \n\nAs a result, different facts, information, happenings keep popping up as they were something NEW, as out of the blue. \n\nAt this point one is totally unable to see in the FUTURE, to think in terms of LONG TERM plans, goals and vision. \n\nYour mind simply cannot imagine what could happen in the future, you cannot picture and you really dont know what to DO. Long term is just an abstract term that just doesnt exist. The mind doesnt have any context for it. This is because the majority of us are SELF TAUGHT, we have learnt everything we know from our own experience, through massive action, practice and constant adaptation and improvisation on the spot when things didnt go well. And everything happened in the PRESENT moment, not by thinking about the future.\n\nBy constantly improvising and handling things with multitasking, you always deal with a problem as it happens in the NOW, in present and hence, with the symptoms of the problem, with the effects.\n\nBecause you dont look in the PAST to retrace your steps, of different happenings and events, you are totally unable to identify the cause. You are not able to think in terms of CAUSE (something that I did in the PAST) and EFFECTS (something that will happen in the FUTURE) for your actions. \n\nSo, if you dont have the habit of thinking in terms of cause and effect for the things that you do and that are happening around you, it is unlikely you will think about LONG TERM results. This means you dont have goals in your life, no vision, no direction. \n\nYou will always be stuck in the PRESENT without making progress dealing with the same problems over and over again and you don’t even see it. Not being able to identify patterns from PAST leads to lack of vision for the FUTURE.\n\nOn the other hand, if you keep track of the small happenings from the PAST, you will be able to anticipate some of the facts, activities from TOMORROW and then in a week and in time, your anticipation ability will extend far faraway in the FUTURE. And this is called having a big goal, a vision, a direction for the work that you do right now, thinking, seeing and anticipating in the LONG TERM.\n\nIt is the ability of your mind to see in the future based on the natural process of learning by keeping track of past events and adjusting in the present accordingly. \n\nWhen you are able to anticipate your activities from tomorrow, you will organize yourself better today in order to meet them. And the same applies for that LONG TERM goal: when you have that great idea in the mind, you will organize yourself better today in order to make it happen and in time, you wont feel so overwhelmed by your work anymore.\n\nA long term goal, idea or vision gives SHAPE that could integrate the CHAOS in your work. As a result, the chaos would organize itself and in time it will lead to more HARMONY in the present moment.\n\nMihaela Dragan",

body![Journey.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmV3Zpom854Q5ZPAzvdfjRMSGNBfvehJwMQ79xHePzNPMZ/Journey.jpg) Enjoying the JOURNEY towards success is about celebrating SMALL PROGRESS with detachment from specific results. Enjoying the journey means you don’t seek that ONE specific formula or ingredient, but about experiencing ingredient after ingredient until one understands the big picture of the situation, one gets a global perspective rather than staying stuck in solving one specific problem. This is the explorer’s attitude. The lack of enjoyment comes from the fact that people get FIXATED and stuck on the symptoms of a problem without seeing the conditions, the context that creates it. This means the perspective is too NARROW which provides SCARCE resources for solving the problem. As a result, one sees maybe 1 or 2 OPPORTUNITY or POSSIBILITY to get unstuck and solve the problem. With only 1 or 2 options available at hand, one has to face the LIMITATIONS of his conditions (from the environment or from his own experience and knowledge) which means one has to come up with MORE options in order to overcome them. But, since there are no more options, usually one gets STUCK with solving the problem. This increases the level of stress and frustration which causes you to RESIST the situation. This is the moment when ONE problem becomes the WHOLE world because there is nothing else in the mind. So, the problem gets magnified and one finds so many reasons and evidence that go BEYOND the FACTS, beyond what is rational. As a result, REALITY becomes STATIC: there is only the NOW and the problem. If you perceive reality as static, well there must be something that moves and it will be your emotions: one gets stressed, in panic, one gets the URGENT feeling to do something, anything. So, in a STATIC reality, one must DO something. As a result, we get a small business owner that is running in all direction and solves problems, handles things with multitasking which further increases emotional stress and leads to physical exhaustion. One focuses exclusively on short term thinking, improvising for immediate results. He totally dismisses the PAST and fails to see in the FUTURE as there is only the NOW. At this point there is no reason to ENJOY the process. If someone comes at you DARING to tell you that, probably you will snap at him in a second as there is a general LOSS of HOPE and faith. Enjoyment requires flexibility and flexibility is possible when one SEES in his mind a MULTIPLE pool of possibilities which are given by the multiple FACES of reality as you can move and switch your perspective from one face to another. This understanding can be metaphoric or specific by having certain skills. This means one has a GLOBAL view of the situation where that ONE particular challenging problem is included too, but it represents just ONE face of reality and not the whole reality. Thus, the perception, the FOCUS is NOT limited to that particular problem as it narrows the opportunities to overcome it. So, when you see the multiple faces of reality, you will understand that reality is not static and you wont feel the urge anymore to DO something. You will actually SLOW DOWN because you will SEE the MULTIPLE perspectives of the SAME problem, you will see the contexts and factors that influence your problem. Thus, you will slow down and take the time to figure out the proper order of the elements that will solve the problem without you pushing directly on the problem itself. In this way you get detached from a specific outcome, you get relaxed, you become flexible as you try different ways before getting the right combination that will solve your problem. So, the movements reverse: you don’t longer see reality as STATIC by getting STUCK of FIXATED on the problem, stressing out and running in all directions to solve it. You start to see the MOVEMENTS in a dynamic reality with multiple faces and you STOP to observe it and try to figure out the right order of things. So, when you starting seeing reality as MOVING and CHANGING environment, your tendency will be to get centered in order to observe it and your emotions will tend towards STILLNESS. Hence, you will have a peaceful state. This is actually what staying PRESENT means which is the ability to see the dynamic of a moving reality that surrounds us 360 degrees. **For example**, I am in this kind of situation right now as **I am relatively new to Steemit** and I haven’t figure out yet what is the **“secret formula”** for getting up votes and more dollars for my posts in an ethical way. But, I am in the explorer phase where I still build up my GLOBAL view of Steemit by adding multiple observations, FACES around what makes a successful post. So, far I have noticed that there are many poor articles that receive no upvotes and also many poor articles that receive many upvotes with many dollars. There are very FEW that provide good quality content both in the **“no upvotes”** category and in the **“many dollars”** category. So, as a newbie, I think it becomes difficult for me to be SEEN in this whole POOL of dollars and upvotes hunters. But this is just a PARTIAL perception of the reality on STEEMIT. As long as there are people who make money ethically from Steemit, I will just have to find out how by building on my GLOBAL perception about Steemit and adding multiple observations that eventually will make sense of all these getting upvotes and dollars thing. In time we will see how this perspective changes. Good luck! Mihaela

body![Flirt.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmSj6P9Dvtzrn5wrmgPHguTEikUk5yJ2k2iBm42UZ2jJqi/Flirt.jpg) Recently I got involved in some flirting on Facebook and it was fun... until one point. It just happened and it was fun in the beginning because it was NEW and SPONTANEOUS and I didn’t expect it to happen and I didn’t have any expectations about it. So, what was UNEXPECTED in the beginning, it started to become a HABIT. When it became a habit, I started to have expectations. As a result, I got HOOKED before I knew it without being aware of it. And then, I started to want more of it, I was desperate in checking my fb to see if there is any news from this guy. I started to have expectations that maybe something MORE will happen beyond the VIRTUAL world. But, it never did maybe because it was NEVER meant for something to happen for REAL. So, I started to be confused, even desperate and I realized that he never intended for some more, it was just a game. When I became aware of this, my world crushed. I know, it sounds silly, but this made me realize some things: • What I thought I wanted was not REALLY what I REALLY wanted: being handsome is FAR from being enough. • That I have standards and that I am able to recognize them and act accordingly: I mean I cannot stay hooked on a fb fling. It is ridiculous. I have to meet someone out there in the REAL world. • That I have real needs that need to be satisfied in the REAL world: I think this one doesn’t need any further explanation. All that attachment came from an unconscious frustration that hasn’t been faced before. Since I am single, I wanted to date this guy and I started to believe that he is the one (to date, not to marry) and I started to get in this NEEDY mood and I was all HOOKED and confused at the same time and I didn’t understand what was going on, why it was not happening more just flirting. But that NEEDINESS was there BEFORE I had started that flirting thing. So, the moment I realized this I PULLED back to check myself. I started to see that all unsolved issues from childhood or even from past life (who knows) were still there. The flirt experience triggered that EXCITEMENT in the beginning, but when nothing more happened, it was the turn of my dark side to get on the surface: the feeling of not being good enough. So, I started doing some meditation for recovery and confronting, accepting what was all this time within me, but failed to acknowledge. I am still in the process of understanding my emotions, but the fact that I acknowledge them INDEPENDENTLY from the experience is a great step forward. All that just from a fb flirt. Can you imagine? Usually I don’t do this. I don’t even post on fb, I don’t even keep in touch with my fellows from fb. So, I doubt that it was just in my head this flirting thing. But, even if it was just in my head, the point is that it triggered an old wound which was REAL and I became aware of it and started to addressed it. Besides this, it happens often that we are in our own head every time we face misunderstandings and poor communication in our relationships, with friends and families, in our social life etc. So, no matter what the experience on the OUTSIDE is, the REAL one is always inside of us, in our soul. In addition, we all get HOOKED in this kind of bad habits that we are totally unaware of and that drive our life. We all get triggered every time someone says something or does a small and misplaced gesture that makes us fall in anger or victimization or any kind of negative feeling. **For example** when you go to buy something and the seller has this subtle and at the same time obvious attitude of rolling her eyes and saying with a very bored tone of voice “do you want something?”. Or if it is not about a stranger, it happens with your spouse or a family member who has the same attitude while you try to express your feelings and try to work things out. I mean in real life, we all get triggered by these small things that really bother us. So, I think a failed flirting experience on facebook shouldn’t be any different. All it matters is that we should become aware of the experiences, situations and people that we are HOOKED to. How can you tell if you are hooked in a toxic situation or habit? Well... check your feelings: • See if you are confused or clear about it/her/him • See if you feel exhausted after a situation or discussion with this person When you get clear with your emotions, you will recognize faster situations, behaviours, habits and people that keep you hooked in unhealthy ways. Hence, you will make better decisions about where to stay or not, who you should keep in your life and who should be removed. Mihaela Dragan

body![Change.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmRmjRkip5KGDN9h7ApgX4wcDRnZRYZi1SJLTzv3gKhELh/Change.png) Probably you often hear that success is a journey. A journey implies going through change, progress with its ups and downs. And sometimes results are part of it and sometimes they are not. Unfortunately the majority of people is constantly attached on getting RESULTS. For this reason they are unable to see their progress and resources when they are at their lowest point in life. But, this is just a temporary part of the journey, not a forever moment in life. Think about the moment you were born. Did Life promise you specific results on your journey through it? It sounds ridiculous, doesn’t it? Why? Because the only purpose of life is to LIVE. This reminds me of **Osho** who says something like: >The only goal in life is life itself and you already have it that is why you have to enjoy it. Of course, this doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t have goals at all. But, how many times do you reach your goals, aspirations, intentions and visions? How many times do your expectations get met? Does it happen 100% of the times? Even if you did reach your goals 100% of the times, was it always EASY? Probably not. Why? Because you have to ADJUST, ADAPT to CHANGE and sometimes, change is hard because you have to face obstacles, limitations both externally (physical resources) and internally (knowledge, experience, emotional states, lack of clarity etc.) and mostly because you really do NOT know what to DO when facing NEW and UNKNOWN situations. If you REALLY knew what to do, then change wouldn’t be difficult. But we already know how life is. We were not made any promises when we were born. So, we have to face the UNEXPECTED pretty often. The more you resist change, the more difficult your journey in life is or in business with or without goals. The more you accept and adjust to change, the more flexible you are, hence your ride will be easier, no matter if you reach your goals or not, no matter if you have goals or not. When is it easier to talk about change and progress? When you are in the BEFORE or AFTER picture? When you already reached your goals, when you feel safe and successful OR when you are down, when you got fired or when your business is going through a crisis, when you have no profits and low sales? Of course, it is easier to talk about change and progress AFTER you overcame some difficulties in life. But, when is it the MOST RELEVANT to talk about change and progress? When you are down or when you are up? Of course, when you are down because this is the moment you can see how you REALLY react to change, if you resist it, if you accept it or not. This is the moment you can observe yourself how you actually pull yourself out of it, how you adapt to change, how aware you are of your INNER resources to overcome limitations and obstacles. So, here I am: a commercial worker that UNEXPECTEDLY got fired a couple of months ago. And one thing that came to my mind (besides being angry) is how do I make money next? I didn’t want to look for a job, I felt I couldn’t start over with another employer. I wanted to go on my own, but I didn’t know exactly how because essentially I was in a LOW position to TEACH or PREACH about improvements in a business or in life in general: I am not in a business and I am not even employed anymore, I don’t have specific skills, I have some cash for a limited time period and I have no idea what I am going to do next. In this situation, nobody is going to listen to me or pay me for something that I have difficulties defining. So, I am kind of between leaving the OLD behind and going for the NEW, for uncertainty, the uncharted, the untried. While writing this article, I googled **“dynamics of change”** to see what shows up and I got across the Change Curve from bellow. ![Change Curve.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmf3sLGCJzTd13gMXqaAWUKUKJP27u5XaUHcBR65Zq3gjm/Change%20Curve.jpg) It is from the book “Dynamics of Change” and you can [download it for FREE here](https://www.valuescentre.com/resources/books/dynamics-change/dynamics-change-exercises). I didn’t read the book, but I found the picture inspiring and I am going to add my own interpretation to it given my perception and situation right now: If I look at my situation externally: the fact that currently I am unemployed and don’t know exactly what I am going to do next to earn money, I could say that I am in the position of **“Inability to act”**. But if I look at my situation internally, I could say that I am somewhere between **“Testing new things”** and **“New stability”**, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to write this right now, I wouldn’t have the clarity to put this into words. I don’t know exactly where I am heading to, but I am excited to test new ideas and that I can post here on Steemit because I got it that sometimes LIVING is the only goal that matters in life. Of course, this doesn’t mean that I should be irresponsible with my financial situation, but as you can see CHANGE and PROGRESS are indeed DYNAMIC and it doesn’t look like a flat or simple curve. It is a combination of multiple factors. I am saying this because I have been in lower points in my life where I was in the position of **“Inability to act”** and in **“Denial, escape”** at the same time. These low points were both externally as I was jobless and internally as I was feeling like crap, feeling ashamed, guilty, victimizing myself and all that negative stuff. But, now I am just jobless :) and it took me just 4 days to get it from the moment I got fired while in the past it took me at least 3 months or even years to get over a rejection. So, from my point of view, this is progress and progress is dynamic and cyclical. So, successful people are right when they say that SUCCESS starts first in the MIND, it is a MINDSET. The mindset you have influences your results. Your inner world reflects on your outer world. But progress is a dynamic between the 2 worlds (within and outside). Now you might say: >Yeah, right, what success? You are jobless! The interesting part and the point I am trying to make is that you don’t need to get to the TOP of an external SUCCESS in order to get it. The mindset comes first and then, success on the outside if you want to experience fullfilment and enjoy the journey because, as you know, you can be successful without enjoying the journey. Ok, so I have a good mindset, but not success. You are right! But this is the beauty of writing in REAL time BEFORE it happens. It is more exciting, you don’t know what comes next! And I got it that success is a journey, not an end goal and I enjoy the process right now while I am jobless and I have no idea how I will earn money next. So, I was at my lowest point (both broke and depressed with **“Inability to act”** and in **“Denial”**), everything was foggy, I didn’t have the INNER CLARITY to understand what I was going through, I didn’t even know that I was depressed, I didn’t know I was victimizing myself. All I knew is that things were not going the way I wanted them to go. From this point of view, I could say that I am in the AFTER picture and I could place myself in between **“Ideas”** and **“Testing new things”** because I am writing this right now. I could also say I have a **“New stability”** because of my current attitude. And if I look at the fact that I am jobless and I have no idea how I will earn money next, I could say that I am still in the BEFORE picture, at the point of **“Inability to act”** and maybe also at **“Acceptance of reality, looking ahead”** at the same time. As you can see CHANGE and PROGRESS are DYNAMIC, it is never a straight line or curve, it is cyclical. It is never about a secret ingredient. You constantly RECYCLE, RELIVE past or similar experience and the moment you change your REACTION, your RESPONSE to it, then PROGRESS occurs. This means you have learnt your lesson and you can go to the next level. The moment you change your RESPONSE and learn your lesson, the cycle of progress becomes a SPIRAL, meaning you are in a state of FLOW of LIVING your LIFE. Maybe that is why our DNA has a spiral shape. Now, you can look at it as you wish because REALITY and PROGRESS are dynamic, they have many faces. You can look at how you feel about a situation or you can obsess over external results. But, I believe that by accepting both perceptions, then this is the moment when you start to live your life because life is the only thing it was given to us when we were born with no promise for results. Change is unexpected, but we can CHOOSE our response to it. And the ability to CHOOSE does NOT come from will power, from ambition, but from the ability to TRACK and MONITOR your progress over time because it creates AWARENESS. And awareness is the ability to ACCESS resources from within when things don’t go as planned or as expected. The moment when you SEE your INNER resources, it creates you the opportunity to CHOOSE your response, the attitude you have and eventually, influences the ACTION you take. And I am sure you have also been going through this type of changes and progress in your life when things don’t go as planned or as expected. The question is: >How AWARE are you of your inner and outer transformation and progress? How good are you at monitoring, tracking your progress? given that progress is cyclical and it implies change. And change implies different combinations of UPS and DOWNS in life. Can you still see your PROGRESS when you are at your LOWEST point in life or in business, or in relationships when your label does not “scream success”, when nobody knows you, when you feel you are a failure? Can you use your lowest points to get to the next level? You have everything you need right now to make progress and become whoever you want to become, it just that you might not be aware of it. See you in the next article with other UPS and DOWNS in the CYCLE of PROGRESS because the beginning and the end are at the same border. Mihaela Dragan

I could also say I have a **“New stability”** because of my current attitude.\n\nAnd if I look at the fact that I am jobless and I have no idea how I will earn money next, I could say that I am still in the BEFORE picture, at the point of **“Inability to act”** and maybe also at **“Acceptance of reality, looking ahead”** at the same time.\n\nAs you can see CHANGE and PROGRESS are DYNAMIC, it is never a straight line or curve, it is cyclical. \n\nNow, you can look at it as you wish because REALITY and PROGRESS are dynamic, they have many faces. You can look at how you feel about a situation or you can obsess over external results. But, I believe that by accepting both perceptions, then this is the moment when you start to live your life because life is the only thing it was given to us when we were born with no promise for results.\n\nChange is unexpected, but we can CHOOSE our response to it. And the ability to CHOOSE does NOT come from will power, from ambition, but from the ability to TRACK and MONITOR your progress over time because it creates AWARENESS. And awareness is the ability to ACCESS resources from within when things don’t go as planned or as expected. The moment when you SEE your INNER resources, it creates you the opportunity to CHOOSE your response, the attitude you have and eventually, influences the ACTION you take.\n\nAnd I am sure you have also been going through this type of changes and progress in your life when things don’t go as planned or as expected. The question is: \n\n>How AWARE are you of your inner and outer transformation and progress? How good are you at monitoring, tracking your progress? given that progress is cyclical and it implies change. \n\nAnd change implies different combinations of UPS and DOWNS in life. Can you still see your PROGRESS when you are at your LOWEST point in life or in business, or in relationships when your label does not “scream success”, when nobody knows you, when you feel you are a failure? Can you use your lowest points to get to the next level?\n\nYou have everything you need right now to make progress and become whoever you want to become, it just that you might not be aware of it.\n\nSee you in the next article with other UPS and DOWNS in the CYCLE of PROGRESS because the beginning and the end are at the same border.\n\nMihaela Dragan",

bodyYes, envy comes from low self-esteem or LACK of self-esteem. When there is LACK within, then a person doesn’t have self-knowledge, self awareness, she doesn’t see any resources within, she doesn’t see her true value. Essentially LACK is when someone doesn’t know her HEART. In order to get back to our heart and hence, move away from envy, we have to start by appreciating ourselves for all the things that we do right in our life, especially the SMALL things and small progress. Behind them, there is a HUGE potential to uncover who we truly are which is our HEART. In our heart there is no place for envy or any other negative emotion.

body![Observing.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQma2rXYJMApYmyFTyBq2UCzCfoUr6weNXL9vGVTwGxvCvY/Observing.jpg) Most of small businesses are chaotic, highly disorganised environment where business owners and employees are surrounded at 360 degrees by a million problems, activities, responsibilities. Given this complicated, moving and ever changing REALITY, how do you start making improvements towards a more stable and predictable business when you don’t know where to start? I mention in the previous parts of the article ([1](https://steemit.com/business/@mihaeladragan/good-observation-skills-the-basics-of-military-strategies-and-improvements-in-a-small-business-i-part-1), [2](https://steemit.com/business/@mihaeladragan/good-observation-skills-the-foundation-for-military-strategies-and-improvements-in-a-small-business), [3](https://steemit.com/business/@mihaeladragan/good-observation-skills-the-basics-of-military-strategies-and-improvements-in-a-small-business-i-part-3), [4](https://steemit.com/dynamicreality/@mihaeladragan/good-observation-skills-the-basics-of-military-strategies-and-improvements-in-a-small-business-i-part-4)) that the 1st step is to start OBSERVING individual activities, facts, information even if they don’t seem RELEVANT and they don’t produce immediate solutions or results. In time these RANDOM observations will get connected in a pattern which will produce the solution as already shown in the previous part of the article. This is part of the **“from specific to general”** approach that the military strategist Boyd uncovered and used as a tool for dealing with uncertain and highly risky, dangerous environments. In addition, this is OBSERVATION process is also part of our natural ability to BUILD order, learn and find solutions since we were children as discussed in part 3. Let’s see how the observation process unfolded in reality for me. ## The process of observation and the observer’s profile When I started working, I was taking notes on random observations clients’ requests, my interaction with them and from my daily activity. So, at this point I was split in 2 directions: **1** my rational mind that was recording the data about our customers: random observations, requests and discussions from my interaction with clients. These were facts I was completely aware of. **2** the stress I was feeling from my day to day job, but I was not very aware of because I couldn’t explain specifically why. I could just say: we have a lot of stuff to do, it is busy, chaotic and overwhelming. The interesting part is that my mind DIDNT make any difference between the two DURING the time I was recalling the day to day activity. Although, consciously I was recording facts and observation about customers behaviour, I was also recalling the images and movie from the WHOLE business: food production, random discussions with the business owners, clients and colleagues, cleaning dishes, lighting some essential oil, the books we had on shelves, running on stairs to bring the food for delivery and putting on shelves, sometimes the food was ready in time for delivery, sometimes there were delays and clients were calling to complain about it etc. In the beginning the recalling of these aspects seemed to be random, isolated and fuzzy with no specific order or connection among them. My mind added up more details day after day to the randomness and fuzziness of the activity until eventually it detected a pattern. Because of the speed that the mind operates with, it will eventually match what they seem to be RANDOM and UNRELATED facts, problems, conflicts in the business. This is because it can jump from what happened today to what happened 1 week before and then back to yesterday and eventually also to the future. This is how you actually get a dream, a big idea, vision and direction for your business. As discussed in the previous post, a vision and idea is just a pattern or a result of an analogy. In addition, you will also improve your memory and hence, the clarity and sense of control in your business. Uncovering your direction, you will link the facts from your business to it. As a result, you will detach from concepts and use only what is relevant for you not do because of concepts, generally accepted rules. Because you perceive your activity as chaotic, it is impossible to do this, to connect the dots in your business WHILE WORKING. This is because PHYSICALLY you are in ONE place with the few problems from there and hence, your mind is also ONLY there. As a result, you keep improvising and find yourself jumping from problem to another and eventually feel overwhelmed. So, stress can be a good symptom because you can use it to direct the focus of your mind to recall you business activity that produces stress. It was just that consciously I was PICKING up and writing down what I considered to be relevant or that one day will become relevant because they will connect in a pattern and I will have a better understanding of a situation that at that moment was unknown. This kind of goes with that saying: **“there is a reason for everything”** or the other one: **“there are no coincidences”**. To put it in other words: I was grabbing myself on everything I was getting in touch with during the day. Many observations seemed random, fuzzy, happening in the same time and coming from everywhere. Others made more sense. ## The observer profile • The observer can be outside the action while the action is happening: this is when you (the observer) is watching something or somebody else working or some business activity is taking place or you can observe customers buying behaviour: it depends how much you are aware of the facts taking place. In the restaurant case, I was observing the customers, the business owners and the restaurant as a whole. As a commercial worker I had the necessary detachment to observe the restaurant activities that I was not involved in. • The observer can observe herself after the action has happened and retraces her steps: after work I was taking some time to review the restaurant activity and my own too. This means that when you are involved in your own activity, the observation process takes place AFTER the work was performed. It is about taking the time every day to recall, review the day just like a movie: that is all. This brings you clarity about the overwhelming activity and builds your accuracy about it. It is not about having good memory, but about recalling events, happenings and the activity itself while it is fresh in the mind. Since the 2nd option is the case for a small business owner, let’s see why you need... ## Physical detachment from your work in order to OBSERVE better and get unstuck from running in all directions While in the action, the most you can do is to acknowledge INDIVIDUAL observations, happenings at the moment you get in contact with them. This is how most people do it. As a result, they see a FACT, an element which they consider an ANOMALY. So, they come up with a brainstormed, improvised solution on the spot (the typical 2 elements pattern: ONE cause – ONE result type of solution). But if you want MAXIMUM impact, you need to integrate ALL the individual and relevant FACTS you see at a given moment in time. Some facts can happen today at 9:00, next one at 10:00, the next 10 facts between 2-6 pm in your business activity, some facts happened already one week ago and some are permanently there in front of your own eyes. This is because it is PHYSICALLY impossible to be in the ACTION at 10:00, doing and solving urgent and multitasking problems RIGHT NOW AND at the same time to also OBSERVE, find solutions to urgent problems that happened yesterday at 6 pm and that will happen in an hour and those from 2-6 pm. However, as a DETACHED OBSERVER (by taking the time 1h/day to watch the movie in your business) it is ABSOLUTELY possible to see ALL these facts as once. Why? Because a picture is worth 1000 words, because your mind can skip in a fraction of a second from one activity to another in your business, from cooking in the kitchen to a random discussion with a client, from what happened at 10:00 am to what happened at 5 pm. But physically this is impossible. You cannot skip from Tuesday to Sunday in a fraction of second. Your mind is more powerful than you can be. In the restaurant case, I could connect in a fraction of second the crowded days from lunch during the week with the availability from Sunday. While we were running in all directions to serve clients in crowded days, the last thing that we would think of is that Sunday could be an asset to improve the flow of service during the week. It sounds already like a paradox. The interesting part, you already know all these FACTS. Nobody knows your business better than you. The problem is that because you are constantly in the doing mode and solving urgent problems on the spot that are happening right now, your mind processes them as DISCONNECTED, separated from each other because you see them just while in the action and because each of them happen at **different points in time and space**. But they are CONNECTED as already [proven with the Relativity Theory in this article](https://steemit.com/optimizeresources/@mihaeladragan/how-to-use-einstein-s-relativity-theory-to-speed-up-the-process-of-finding-solutions-in-a-small-business). That is why knowing is not the same as OBSERVING. When you feel overwhelmed and run in all directions, your business is just a multitude of 2 elements patterns, cause-effect solutions that are disconnected among each other and you feel disoriented in your own business because you don’t see them. With time, you get caught up and are missing the big picture of your business and hence, the direction. ### You can start OBSERVING from any of the following: **1 identify patterns** (big or small, good or bad): this means repetitive activities, behaviours, processes that happen on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. **2 contradictory, conflicting situations, facts**: “need a new employee, but I cannot afford it because sales are too low”. There is information that you dont see yet around this type of conflicting situations. **3 improvise**, but KNOW that improvised solutions are temporarily because you don’t know yet what works, what doesn’t and why. That is why, you have to keep recalling your activity on a daily basis to OBSERVE and keep your eyes on the dynamics on your business. Every small decision will cause multiple changes in other elements of the business. What it seems to be strategic today, tomorrow it will become obsolete and irrelevant. **4 write down random observations**, facts that you think that might be useful some day. You don’t need to write down everything or every day. It is enough to recall and review the day and watch it just like a movie. Your mind will do the rest by itself. ### Bottom line When you have a chaotic activity, don’t dismiss what they seem random and irrelevant facts and get detached from business standards, rules, concepts, practices because you are still in the process of sorting things out and you don’t know yet what business concept and standard applies to you. [The Relativity Theory proves](https://steemit.com/optimizeresources/@mihaeladragan/how-to-use-einstein-s-relativity-theory-to-speed-up-the-process-of-finding-solutions-in-a-small-business) that sooner or later, some of these facts will get connected in a meaningful pattern and give birth to solutions. In time these RANDOM observations will get connected in a pattern which will produce the solution as already shown in the previous part of the article.\n\nThis is part of the **“from specific to general”** approach that the military strategist Boyd uncovered and used as a tool for dealing with uncertain and highly risky, dangerous environments.\n\nIn addition, this is OBSERVATION process is also part of our natural ability to BUILD order, learn and find solutions since we were children as discussed in part 3.\n\nLet’s see how the observation process unfolded in reality for me.\n\n\n## The process of observation and the observer’s profile\n\n\nWhen I started working, I was taking notes on random observations clients’ requests, my interaction with them and from my daily activity.\n\nSo, at this point I was split in 2 directions:\n\n**1** my rational mind that was recording the data about our customers: random observations, requests and discussions from my interaction with clients. These were facts I was completely aware of.\n\n**2** the stress I was feeling from my day to day job, but I was not very aware of because I couldn’t explain specifically why. I could just say: we have a lot of stuff to do, it is busy, chaotic and overwhelming. \n\nThe interesting part is that my mind DIDNT make any difference between the two DURING the time I was recalling the day to day activity. Although, consciously I was recording facts and observation about customers behaviour, I was also recalling the images and movie from the WHOLE business: food production, random discussions with the business owners, clients and colleagues, cleaning dishes, lighting some essential oil, the books we had on shelves, running on stairs to bring the food for delivery and putting on shelves, sometimes the food was ready in time for delivery, sometimes there were delays and clients were calling to complain about it etc.\n\nIn the beginning the recalling of these aspects seemed to be random, isolated and fuzzy with no specific order or connection among them.\n\nMy mind added up more details day after day to the randomness and fuzziness of the activity until eventually it detected a pattern.\n\nBecause of the speed that the mind operates with, it will eventually match what they seem to be RANDOM and UNRELATED facts, problems, conflicts in the business. This is because it can jump from what happened today to what happened 1 week before and then back to yesterday and eventually also to the future. This is how you actually get a dream, a big idea, vision and direction for your business. As discussed in the previous post, a vision and idea is just a pattern or a result of an analogy.\n\nIn addition, you will also improve your memory and hence, the clarity and sense of control in your business. Uncovering your direction, you will link the facts from your business to it. As a result, you will detach from concepts and use only what is relevant for you not do because of concepts, generally accepted rules.\n\nBecause you perceive your activity as chaotic, it is impossible to do this, to connect the dots in your business WHILE WORKING. This is because PHYSICALLY you are in ONE place with the few problems from there and hence, your mind is also ONLY there. As a result, you keep improvising and find yourself jumping from problem to another and eventually feel overwhelmed. \n\nSo, stress can be a good symptom because you can use it to direct the focus of your mind to recall you business activity that produces stress.\n\nIt was just that consciously I was PICKING up and writing down what I considered to be relevant or that one day will become relevant because they will connect in a pattern and I will have a better understanding of a situation that at that moment was unknown. \n\nThis kind of goes with that saying: **“there is a reason for everything”** or the other one: **“there are no coincidences”**.\n\nTo put it in other words: I was grabbing myself on everything I was getting in touch with during the day.\n\nMany observations seemed random, fuzzy, happening in the same time and coming from everywhere. Others made more sense.\n\n\n## The observer profile \n\n\n•\tThe observer can be outside the action while the action is happening: this is when you (the observer) is watching something or somebody else working or some business activity is taking place or you can observe customers buying behaviour: it depends how much you are aware of the facts taking place. In the restaurant case, I was observing the customers, the business owners and the restaurant as a whole. As a commercial worker I had the necessary detachment to observe the restaurant activities that I was not involved in.\n\n•\tThe observer can observe herself after the action has happened and retraces her steps: after work I was taking some time to review the restaurant activity and my own too. This means that when you are involved in your own activity, the observation process takes place AFTER the work was performed. \n\nIt is about taking the time every day to recall, review the day just like a movie: that is all. This brings you clarity about the overwhelming activity and builds your accuracy about it. It is not about having good memory, but about recalling events, happenings and the activity itself while it is fresh in the mind.\n\nSince the 2nd option is the case for a small business owner, let’s see why you need... \n\n\n## Physical detachment from your work in order to OBSERVE better and get unstuck from running in all directions\n\n\nWhile in the action, the most you can do is to acknowledge INDIVIDUAL observations, happenings at the moment you get in contact with them. So, they come up with a brainstormed, improvised solution on the spot (the typical 2 elements pattern: ONE cause – ONE result type of solution).\n\nBut if you want MAXIMUM impact, you need to integrate ALL the individual and relevant FACTS you see at a given moment in time. body![Freedom.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYeg2CTobHv6DKAyMPz5TzcqkaKxtBnjCB3iVXtsAsKvU/Freedom.jpg) When I was reading business books and articles, I noticed that many of successful people got through 2 types of situations in their childhood or teenage period: They either had entrepreneurial initiatives, like selling matches or they were going through some severe poverty or conditions that forced them to survive and put their mind at work to push through their limitations. While reading this type of stories, I was inevitably comparing myself to them as in my childhood I never had neither of this experiences, I was just there, a quite child that didn’t make too much noise. I never excelled at anything in particular and I was pretty average in school, I was neither good nor bad. Not even in high school and college I didn’t have any type of initiative or displayed a particular talent at something. I didn’t really stand out with anything and never had an opinion about anything. I was just there, watching people having arguments with each other and wondered how come that they all seem to be right. My mother was pretty over protective and took decisions for me until my early 20s. So, it was obvious to me that successful people have built their skills and success from their early childhood in a subtle or obvious way. And it seemed that I had nothing to build on: no particular talent or inner strength, no ambition, no practical experience. However, in time after reading books and doing a lot of self reflection, I started to notice that I am a good observer of an environment, of people and things and that I tend to notice details that in general people miss. In addition, some people and friends get very surprised about it. In the beginning this was showing as when someone was getting a new haircut and I was the first and only one observing it. In time it also reflected in the small restaurant I was working as a commercial worker and where I made some improvements: increased sales, improved the serving process, put the business owner on her true path although she is not aware of it yet. While working in the restaurant, it became very obvious to me that people don’t pay attention and totally dismiss the importance of small facts, information and happenings that are underutilized opportunities and assets, but they don’t see them. So the next question was: >How do I make people observe them? And it became very obvious to me in the restaurant that this question didn’t have an easy answer as I was getting in conflicts with the business owners that just didn’t see what I was observing. While reflecting on it, I realized that I have to explain something that to me comes NATURALLY. How come? Well, while I was not standing out with anything in my childhood and early adulthood, while it seemed I was doing nothing and there was nothing I was building on, there was actually something I was doing: I was looking around with a total sense of wonder about anything and about everything. In addition, I was a total daydreamer. I was getting a lot of random ideas and getting really excited about them. The problem was that my mother took all the decisions for me and I was never encouraged for my creativity and ideas. So, when I started reading books about 8 years ago, my sense of WONDER turned into CURIOSITY. Finally, I had a source that could explain what I was OBSERVING and couldn’t understand. So, right now I am able to explain the OBVIOUS that nobody sees because it is something that I have built on since I remember myself as a child. So, what makes me feel independent and free is the fact that I can OBSERVE the details that make a difference and that I can EXPLAIN them. In return this also helps me to come up with ideas and solutions. When I am able to explain what I think and see, somehow people get ideas or a little bit more awareness of their personal world. I can see it everywhere: with clients, with my family, with business owners, with friends or just in random conversations. What is great about all this is that I have kept my sense of wonder from my childhood and I get easily amazed about small things. Everywhere I go there is a part of my mind that is still wondering about everything I see, it is a sort of permanent practice of observing and trying to explain the existence of things. This adds a lot to my sense of freedom as I experience gratitude and get easily excited, especially when I get a new idea about something. Having a sense of wonder is something very important nowadays when most people chase for material and quick results or they struggle with surviving in their jobs and businesses. That is why I work on a course for small business owners that struggle with their sense of freedom in their small businesses. I think all people have a natural thing or talent that they have built on since their childhood, but they are not totally aware of even if it is something as simple as a sense of wonder. I will succeed because I can observe and explain what most people don’t see, they need it and somebody has to do it once and for all. I know it takes time, but I discovered that no matter if I am realistic or not, no matter if I do what most people do or not, there are always obstacles to overcome. There is no shortcut and no secret formula without putting in the work. So, why not following my own path anyway and that gives me a great sense freedom? Something will come out of it in a way of another. So, what is it that subtle or obvious thing you have always done right and practiced since you were a child? Mihaela Dragan
