      "body": "Washington (CNN)As Donald Trump reeled off his debut State of the Union address, it felt like the tumult and anger and chaos of the last few years never happened.\nFor after tearing at America's divides to win and wield power, the President used his big televised moment on Tuesday night to pose as the great uniter.\nSummoning all the pageantry of his office, in a scripted speech which mixed oratory with praise for inspirational American heroes in the first lady's gallery, Trump made a coherent, though controversial case for his presidency, declaring there had never been a better time to live the American dream.\n\n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmZWj8HU962JEW4ThVQnfFiVT7uLxSr3RYVkw372kwfVW1/image.png)\n\nBut as the last standing ovation subsided, questions remained: How many hours, or days, will Trump's optimistic vision and open hand for bipartisan compromise last, given his more usual erratic and confrontational behavior?\nAnd will Trump win any political benefit from an empathetic appearance given controversies that he can't control, including the corrosive daily toll of the Russia investigation that is now reaching deep into his White House?\nForge common ground\nRepeatedly on Tuesday, Trump offered to forge common ground with Democrats on emotive issues such as immigration or the meaning of patriotism, that were a departure from the radioactive rhetoric he had used in the past.\nHe even offered to work on issues important to liberals like infrastructure, family leave and criminal justice reform.\nBut then he used language that could inflame and offend his opponents, in an example of the bulldozing political method that undercuts his calls for national unity and likely makes compromise on the most difficult issues unlikely.\n\n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmekVkbTvEbgFhuoFJRJ4akbTyAHGMAVEcwVwiWsSnZweT/image.png)\n\nCommanding center stage, gripping the lectern in the House of Representatives, Trump, his jaw set, in a trademark dark suit and bold blue tie, looked every inch a president, striking a contrast with his often unpredictable behavior outside formal settings that has crashed against political norms.\n\"Tonight, I call upon all of us to set aside our differences, to seek out coming ground, and to summon the unity we need to deliver for the people we were elected to serve,\" Trump said.\nA year after decrying the \"American carnage\" of lost jobs and ruined lives in his stark inaugural address, Trump effectively declared it was morning in America again, recalling the upbeat economic message of Ronald Reagan.\nIt may be that in the short-term at least, that the President's calls for bipartisanship and compromise strike a chord with the public, which is weary of years of bitterly partisan politics.\nIn a snap CNN/SSRS poll, 48% of people who watched the speech reacted very positively, 22% reacted positively, and 29% had a negative response. The dino, Mansourasaurus shahinae, was the length of a school bus and about as heavy as an elephant, weighting in at around five tons.\nThat makes it a part of a group of dinosaurs known as the Titanosauria, which includes the largest land animals known to science.\n\nBut what's even more remarkable about this discovery is what it says about the evolution of dinosaurs.\nThis species was found in Egypt. For more than 250 years, most dinosaur bones have been found in Europe, North America and Asia. Scientists haven't had much luck digging up and documenting fossils in Africa. And that means the course of dinosaur evolution there isn't well understood.\n\nEnter the Mansourasaurus.\n\"When I first saw pics of the fossils, my jaw hit the floor,\" dinosaur paleontologist Matt Lamanna said in a statement from the Carnegie Museum of Natural History.\nHe's one of the coauthors of a paper published Monday in the journal Nature Ecology and Evolution that names the new species.\n\"This was the Holy Grail -- a well-preserved dinosaur from the end of the Age of Dinosaurs in Africa -- that we paleontologists had been searching for for a long, long time.\"\n\n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmQnMqHwcpWSTyKdj7QfTfNUdJvHyv4s7Y72oAabTqKU8V/image.png)\n\nThe fossilized remains of the animal's jaw\n\nWhy it's noteworthy?\n\nHere's why this is remarkable:\nAt one point, the continents of the world were all connected as one supercontinent called Pangaea.\nDuring the Cretaceous Period, the continents began splitting apart, eventually ending in the configuration we see today. Temporary land bridges connected them.\nWhat scientists want to know is: when this happened, how cut off were the animals in Africa, and how were they evolving in their own tracks?\nThe Mansourasaurus sheds some light.\nWhat it says\nThe fossilized remains were discovered in the Sahara by an expedition led by Hesham Sallam of the geology department at Egypt's Mansoura University.\nThe Mansourasaurus had a long neck, ate plants and had bony plates in its skin.\nWhat Sallam's team determined is that the Mansourasaurus is closely related to the dinosaurs found in Europe and Asia rather than those in South America or even parts of southern Africa.\nThis meant that at least some dinos could move between Africa and Europe.\n\"Africa's last dinosaurs weren't completely isolated, contrary to what some have proposed in the past,\" Eric Gorscak, a contributing author on the study, said in the Carnegie Museum of Natural History statement.\n\"There were still connections to Europe.\"",

The result: the moon appears larger than normal and NASA is predicting this one will be 14% brighter than usual.\nChances are you have used the phrase \"once in a blue moon\" -- but have you ever wondered where it came from? The well-known idiom actually refers to the rare instance when there is a second full moon in a calendar month. The first supermoon of 2018 -- which took place on New Year's Day -- was previously described by NASA as the \"biggest and brightest\" one expected for the entire year.\nThen completing this \"lunar trifecta\" is the \"blood\" element. Although it does not have a scientific definition, a \"blood moon\" occurs during a lunar eclipse when faint red sunbeams peek out around the edges of the Earth, giving it a reddish, copper color.\nWhere can I see it?\nEager stargazers living in North America, Alaska or Hawaii will be able to see the eclipse before sunrise on Wednesday, according to NASA. The eclipse begins at 5.51 a.m. ET, as the moon is about to set in the western sky, and the sky is getting lighter in the east.\"\nFor observers living in New York or Washington D.C., the space agency suggests a 6.45 a.m. ET start for the best viewing.\n\"Your best opportunity if you live in the east is to head outside about 6.45 a.m. and get to a high place to watch the start of the eclipse,\" Johnston said. \"Make sure you have a clear line of sight to the horizon in the west, opposite from where the sun will rise.\"\nWhere the moon is covered by the Earth's shadow, known as the period of totality, it will last just over one and a quarter hours, according to EarthSky.
