Kehidupan awalmasyarakat Dieng tidak dapat dipisahkan dengan masyarakat Bali ,di kalangan masyarakat Hindu Bali, Dieng dianggap merupakan tempat asal-usul leluhur mereka, khususnya dalam pengembangan agama Hindu. Di Dienglah mula-mula ditemukan candi Hindu Siwaistis. Para pemuka agama di Bali mengunjungi Dieng setiap setahun sekali dalam upacara muspe atau mabakti. Keterbukaan ini tentu saja menjadi nilai tersendiri bagi daerah Dieng saat sektor pariwisata mulai banyak dijalani oleh masyarakatnya.\n\nTradisi yang dimiliki oleh masyarakat Dieng bisa jadi agak beda dengan yang lain sepertiyang ada di Tengger, atau didataran tinggi lainnya , masyarakat memiliki kebiasaan Karing / berjemur matahari pada pagi hari, da nada kebiasaan lain seperti saat menerima tamu biasanya akan diajak langsung ke Dapur perapian untuk Genen /Menghangatkan diri di depan tungku  sampai kakinya Mongen / menghitam karena selalu kena panas api.\n\nMakananyang biasa dikonsumsi oleh masyarakatnya adalah Nasi Jagung,nasi Beras, sayur Lombok Bandung, Thikil kubis, Kacang babi, Rese/ Ikan asin, sayur kentang , minuman purwaceng dan carica dan lainya, makanan seperti ini bisa jadi sangat nikmat dan diminati juga oleh warga dari luar Dieng.",
