Je souffre d'une grave maladie qui me condamne à une mort certaine, c'est le cancer de gorge, et je dispose d'une somme de 60.000 euros, dont je voudrais faire une donation à une personne de confiance et d'honnête afin qu'il en fasse bon usage. I believed her.\n\nI never felt hurried to lock into a career. That made it easier to walk away.\n\nI changed my mind after a taste. Or when I had enough.\n\nI love variety. I hate repetition.\n\nRepetition is the Mother of Skill. That’s not the kind I hate.\n\nI hate the dead-end kind. It tastes like cardboard.\n\nI repeat a task until I acquire the skill. Then I acquire another skill.\n\nLikely in a different field. Or in an adjacent field.\n\nFor security, my mother’s advice was horrible.\n\nSecurity and scarcity are bedfellows.\n\nFreed from scarcity, I felt good.\n\nI left for college. 1982. It was cheap.\n\nI changed majors five times. I graduated with a teaching degree.\n\nChristmas.\n\nI finished in four and a half years. I didn’t want five. Or six.\n\nI wanted out.\n\nI wanted the piece of paper. I didn’t care which major was printed on it.\n\nI moved from Pennsylvania to Florida the minute I graduated.\n\nI had my piece of paper. I applied everywhere. Including the school board.\n\nI had no expectation for a teaching job. I didn’t want more high school.\n\nI wanted rent money.\n\nThe school board called for an interview. I went.\n\nA formality. I was breathing. No felonies. Misdemeanors long behind me.\n\nI moved to the next round. That afternoon.\n\nThey showed a map. A school on the far side of the sugar cane fields.\n\nIt looked like twenty minutes. Forty-five minutes later I was there.\n\nThe principal expected me. Why blog this?  Drivel?  Aren’t there enough words out the to read before coming to this handful?  Of words.\n\nThe problem is.  I am a Creator.  It’s the thing I’m here to do.  To fully express myself I must Create something.  I must surprise myself how well things turned out.  And then start over.\n\nThe other problem is I’m lazy.  Like a cat.  Like a lion.  They sleep 13 hours a day.  And do WHATEVER they want for the other 11 hours…\n\nI won’t pursue that Lion thread.  But I am a Leo.  And proud of it.  Obviously.  Can we move on?\n\nAnyway, I gotta make stuff.  Noise.  Music.  Art.  Poems.  Songs.  Sales?  Yes, I have to make sales.  How do you think I pay for this?\n\nAnd I make those sales.  I create them out of thin air and with my effort.  Which is why I am in sales.  I am a Creator.  It suits me.\n\nNot everyone is a Creator.  That’s not their role. And that is a problem if misunderstood. And I have misunderstood that.  I sometimes misunderstand things.  It happens a lot. That’s why I learn stuff.  Constantly.  And when I am honest (and I am) I know that will repeat.  If everything goes right.  Otherwise, I have already expired.\n\nOnward…\n\nOthers have different gifts.       "body": "https://johnbermanthethird.files.wordpress.com/2015/08/cabs.jpg?w=600&h=446\n\nThe Ubers and Taxis squared off for a fight\nThat would burn in the streets, all the day and all the night\nArmed with lobbyists and lawyers, standing by their side\nTo finally determine, who could fairly give us rides\nUbers got the jump, the Taxis they were sleeping\nAnd when they woke up, the Taxis they were weeping\nThe Taxis got a little wise, and downloaded the Uber app\nSo they could track the Ubers, driving on the Uber map\nThey hired 50 lobbyists, and loaded up their pockets\nSent them to the Capitals, to file a million dockets\nThe Taxis weren’t done yet, they hired vicious bloggers\nTo spread some crazy scandals, and muddy all the waters\nCalling all the Ubers, wild depraved degenerates\nInflating all the mishaps, and ignoring all the benefits\nUbers sole response, was a thundering silence\nAnd refusing to accept, the rhetorical violence\nThe Ubers were quite sneaky, and kept sending all their drivers\nGiving rides to all the passengers, for twenties tens and fivers\nThe riders were quite happy, to be paying half the price\nThe pick-ups are much quicker, and Ubers are real nice\nThe Taxis have been angry, that the world has passed them by\nTheir old timey business model, has just gone off and died\nAnd it isn’t coming back, the application has disrupted\nThe old fashioned Taxi ways, since new ways have erupted\nThe people now have spoken, and sometimes they are heard\nThey voted with their dollars, for when they get chauffeured\n\n2017 - John B Murphy III - All Rights Reserved",
