      "body": "I made a post the other day about power being out for most of the day. It is commonplace here, as I said, and a lot of people have generators. Believe me, I am thinking about a generator or a whole house solar system for this new year. \n\n\n<center>![stars.gif](https://img.blurt.world/blurtimage/sponge-bob/43360483bc8e18585b75fbba62aae853dce7c7d9.gif)</center>\n\n#\nUp  until now, I have relied on these huge batteries to keep my devices charged when the power fails.  I did not like being caught un prepared so I asked my mechanic - who lives with me - for some help. My son, before he left to go spend the holidays with his girlfriend, changed out the batteries on my electric unicycle. When I bought it, I got a box of \"extra\" parts that came with it.  It was nice to have a pair of batteries that are essentially new *in stock*.  The guy I bought if from bought custom upgrades - so the originals are now extra parts.  \n\nWhile @vatman was changing the batteries, the power went  out again and was out most of the day.  Parts are hard to get from China if you buy things made there, good that we had them. I was surprised how quickly he did the job.  Before, It would only charge to 70% - now it is back to new.  This shot was taken after I took it for a ride late night last night.\n\n\n\n![cover123125.jpg](https://img.blurt.world/blurtimage/sponge-bob/95f246f06dd02e7cb9fa666c8d5ab0762d7ee47a.jpg)\n\n\nThe wheel (electric unicycle) was done at 11:00 a.m. and my mechanic left.  It was now my turn to set up the power pads. These are necessary for acceleration and braking while riding.  I carefully marked the position of the pads.  Once I put them on, they can be adjusted but since I glued the velcro to the new batteries, I can only put them on one time and I wanted to ride it before the day ended.  \n\n\n![image.png](https://img.blurt.world/blurtimage/sponge-bob/da670b585fa48e0fb6e46336ae0021efa3bb335e.png)\n\nAt the bottom left is the 'pedal' I stand on while riding.  The power pads are positioned to hug my calf and feet keeping me on the wheel if I hit a pot hole or ride down a staircase.  \n\nSo  I spend the majority of the last day of 2025 gluing velcro to the sides of the old (original) battery packs, the extra ones that came with the wheel, and getting the power pads installed. Today,  I am happy to say that I am ready for a power outage that last 3 weeks, and all my devices will be charged because my battery is at 100%, which can charge my phone several hundred times in case the power goes out again. \n \nI plan to keep the wheel at or near full because of the electrical issues in this country.  Here is the completed job with one of the old batteries sitting on the floor.\n\n\n![bar-changed.jpg](https://img.blurt.world/blurtimage/sponge-bob/92e603b3bd624b402fe73bce0ef9f4ca0f9582d1.jpg)\n\n I was not able to charge many devices via my electric vehicle the other day, but now I am golden.\n\nAs far as vehicle function goes, I took the wheel out for a test drive and all seems to be in order. The two batteries are fully balanced which is important. I was charging the new batteries while doing the power pads. It charged to 100%, which wasn't the case with one bad battery.  \n\nI should now get about a hundred miles on one charge with both batteries functioning fully, which used to be the case and I expected to see it when I turned on the display. You usually says that I have 200 km of riding left when it's fully charged.\n\n\n#### Leaving 2025 Behind\nLast year had seen a decrease in inflation, gas prices going down, wars ended and a lot of provocation to try and get more started. I heard that the Ukraine, using weapons from the UK and other countries, tried to attack Putin at his own residence. Then the president of Ukraine wants Donald Trump to go see him in Ukraine without flying into Poland first, which is the norm. I'm sorry Vlad, you have lost all credibility, whether you have weapons from other countries or not. You are fighting a nuclear superpower, which is very metered in the responses to you, otherwise you would be a glowing ember on the face of the earth. \n\nRussia was never the aggressor.  They responded to the genocidal  actions against people who spoke Russian.  It is not the norm in war to kill the president of the country being fought, but since the Ukraine \"went there\", I am wondering if the precedent has now been set.   There are other things at play here.  I think Putin will let it slide and take the abuse.  Maybe the Ukrainian president is needed to put corrupt politicians behind bars in the end.\n \nOn other wars and rumors of war...  Say what you want about Trump, but he went into Rwanda and killed the Christian killers.  The fact that that is even happening is very Hitlerish and I think Trump did the right thing.\n \n#### Money\nI am not talking about paper money...  Silver finally moved because everyone needs  it and nobody can find it at the old prices.  I am not selling.  I think it is heading to triple the price from January  2025 which was $29 per ounce.   The latest price before New Years was $79  - there are a lot of  people out there, me included, that like silver.   Paper contracts have kept it down for years, but now shortages are bringing it up to where it should be. \n\n**Crypto** is crypto.  Bitcoin is lower today than it was on the first of January 2025.  But, last year saw it hitting $130k per.  Like silver, I am not selling the tiny bit I am holding.  Hive is headed back to $0.06 as it always has.  I personally believe that the price drop is due to downvoting people before they can learn the ropes of the platform. We, no be, essentially kick people off the platform before they realize its value.   When we get into the five and six cent range, that tomfoolery ends. Sanity comes back because nobody is earning anything for participating, Nothing to take away and freedom comes back. I live here and I have seen this all happen many times before.\n\nCrypto is moving a bit like it used to.  The alts rise in price, as they used to, when Bitcoin drops.  Then before Bitcoin rises, the alts drop as people change out their alts for Bitcoin.  Pre-2017 was the same.  It is a very profitable time for trading.  \n\n#### Politics and Religion\nTwo subjects that are never discussed after dinner, for good reason.   I try to stay away from it but these two are joined at the hip.  I see a lot of corruption and crime in governments worldwide.  When wrongdoing is exposed, war becomes more likely.  Who wants to put a leader in jail when they are *defending* the country?  The ones that are guilty of atrocious deeds are chomping at the bit to start war so that the news can cover the war instead of their crimes.  Dangerous times.  Pick the late xx20's of any century and see the chaos and suffering that occurs.  This century is no different.  If we can avoid war, then we will see the corruption punished.  If not, then their scheme will play out again.   \n\nThis time, the world in general is trying to put every human being under their thumb with a one world currency, one world government, and full control over people's money, movement, activities, etc.  I will never comply with that because of what the Bible says about how it all ends.   There will be, as part of all that, a one world mandatory religion.  There will be no more  Christians and no more Atheists.  I think people should be able to choose their faith.  What they are trying to build will end all of that and the *person\" that will be worshiped is not even a god.   \n\nThe world survived Hitler. Let's hope the world recognizes the next megalomaniac and takes **that one** down as well. \n\n#### New Year - New Life\nLastly, the least of the human race are the little ones.   They are tiny and helpless.   In the next few days, it is already in process, I will become a \"Grandpa\" for the first time.  This is a new role for me.  Even with all the other things I was working on yesterday, I was getting the play by play information on my new grandson.  He is the only continuation of the family name.  I have three boys and none of them had *gotten busy* until now.  He will be born in Tennessee in the next few days.   I am elated! Hopefully, they will be here in April, May or June with baby in tow.\n\nI already love my daughter-in-law, and I already love my grandson. His name is Nikolai.. or it *will* be in 4 to 5 days. She's being induced due to her her health issues.\n\nAnyway, that is what's going on in my life right now. I am very happy to have 2025 end and I am very hopeful for this new year. What about you?       "body": "They never hear me coming.  The one wheel wonders that we ride are fast, silent and maintenance free.  It is a bit of a curse on the streets of Buenos Aires because, unlike a Harley, they do not hear an engine and they cross the street while texting.  \n\nBack to the story of what goes on in Mar del Plata.   I woke up at 6:00 a.m. and did not want to wake those that are working today.   I snuck out and got to ride on the ancient polo field.  \n\nI ran into some hawks that nearly attacked me because they had a couple chicks in a hole off to the side of the play area (outside the boundaries). Their wing span is about a foot shy of my arm span.   After being chased by the nesting hawks, I was a bit intimidated by them but I think the non-parent versions of the hawks are used to people playing high speed games in this particular back yard. \n\n<center>\n![s22.png](https://img.blurt.world/blurtimage/sponge-bob/800026aa733e9467b4690c02fee92bf3fd214841.png)\n</center>\n\n\nI am riding this all terrain vehicle while chasing them - please don't think that I am torturing them. Paid with Bitcoin - Steem will be the method next year with any luck.  **Get with the program LABitconf!**  No, we love you all!\n\nI have known Diego and Rodolfo (The guys running this event) since the beginning and they are very legal and compliant about their digital lives.   It is somewhat safe to handle **real money** that way down here in Argentina It might be the same in El Salvador once they get their crime low - in a historical way I mean.\n\nToday I am letting you all know about the event that is passing our way again.   The **Latin America Bitcoin Conference**!   That time of year has arrived again.  This event gets bigger and better every year and I am sure this year will be no different. It is right around the corner from the Driving Range and [Trixie's](https://hive.blog/tasteem/@sponge-bob/tasteem-497b4a) just in case you're from the 50's or 60's and want to be taken back to that era. You can walk just a couple of blocks to the east and you are at the water's edge.       "body": "I wanted to share a story with you all.  Nearly three dozen years ago I was riding my Honda 750cc down a suburban avenue, doing around 50mph, when the light turned yellow.  I had 30 feet to stop and I tried.\n\nLet me tell you first about the laws in that state.  If you are on an avenue wanting to turn left but the arrow to do so changes red, you can wait until the light changes and continue your turn.  Anyone that was in the intersection can turn without getting a ticket ***after*** oncoming traffic comes to a stop.  I was the oncoming traffic on the  avenue that day.  I was also taking a co-worker on the back of the bike,  I forget where I was taking him. \n\nI was in the right lane and there was a mid-seventies GTO to my left.   Apparently the lady driving a mid-size Nissan was just watching for the yellow and forgot the other part of the law....  She saw yellow and went to complete her turn, across my flight path.\n\nI looked to my left and saw smoke billowing from the front tires of that Pontiac.  I did not look to see if my tires were also billowing, but he was going to clear the rear of the Nissan.  I could try swinging right to go around the obstacle, provided she stops...  no sign of that happening.  \n\nYou cannot steer if your tires are skidding, brakes locked up, so I aimed for where her right rear tire was, she was still moving, I released the brakes and maneuvered.  The GTO cleared without impact, but I saw the woman's face as she heard and saw the skidding vehicles, and she hit the hooks.  I  hit her right rear quarter panel.  \n\nI do not remember the flight I took.  My passenger and I were on the grass about fifty feet from where we impacted.  My glasses were split at the bridge.  My bike was in the intersection and the throttle was full at full rev.   I ran out and killed the ignition hoping to save the engine.  After shutting it off, I realized that nothing about the bike mattered. \n\nThe fork was twisted, the front tire was under the bike,  it was touching the rear tired as if the motorcycle had tried really hard to bend down and kiss the rear tire with the front tire.    \n\nI left the scene in an ambulance.  This was the one and only 3 month span in my entire life that I did not have insurance.  I will detail a bit about that below.\n\nI got to the hospital and laid on a gurney and answered some intake questions.  They gave me a shot for the pain - only my head hurt (no helmet laws - I am hard headed though) - and I had an x-ray.  \n\nI was there for a couple hours. During those hours, at least 8 different doctors touched my neck and signed my chart.   I  began to protest and request leaving the hospital.  I felt I was getting scammed.  The literally did nothing but give me demerol and a couple x-rays.  \n\nI was let go and left.   I went to work the next day with the usual aches and pains and some road rash.  The passenger was at work as well.   Now my worries were law suits and money.  \n\nWeeks later, after I had health insurance, I went for an MRI to see if there was any damage.  They told me that I need surgery - they will need to put some pins in my C3, whatever that is, or I will be paralyzed. \n\nI worried about that for some time.  A friend told me about Chiropractic.  This was a trusted friend and talented natural therapist.  Her son in law had a practice so I went.  \n\nI know I have written about the bone snappers before, but this post is the whole story of when I was introduced to it.   \n\n<div class=pull-right>\n\n\n![image.png](https://img.blurt.world/blurtimage/sponge-bob/5559b73f895e30bb0f47c6669fce1bdb1cbdf3da.png)\n\n\n</div>\n\nThe Chiropractor felt around down my spine and  cracked this and that (only after seeing x-rays he ordered),  he put electrodes on my muscles after adjusting every adjustment, and showed me how to put some traction on my upper spine using a rolled up towel.  I did that religiously for years.\n\nLater on in life, I found out he also does acupuncture, which was painless.  It was intended to stop me from smoking and it worked.  I could not physically smoke a cigarette for weeks.  \n\nThe long and the short of this story is that I gained a distrust for the medical industry and a love for alternative medicine in the same year.   \n \nLately, I have had some dizziness.  I knew I had experienced some of that in the past so I turned to my journal and found out what had caused it some three years ago.  When you have solved a problem in the past, you know that your own handwriting will not lie to you or over charge you, there is no need to go to a man in a butcher coat so he can run tests to see what the cause is.  \n\nThree years ago, I had solved the difficulty when a friend told me that he had a problem in his neck and was very dizzy until he found the problem, that led me to see my  chiropractor (I had to find one first). \n\nIn my notes, I also had the vitamins I was taking at the time.  I started looking at the old boxes in a drawer and found one, a B12 supplement and a link to an article on how B12 should not be taken with sleeping pills.  The box said, \"causes dizziness\" on the back of it.  \n\n\n<center>![image.png](https://img.blurt.world/blurtimage/sponge-bob/7b02d91b4430b817e9502ade7d1cb822aba1c2ea.png)</center>\n\nFor the last six weeks, I have been going through all of this.  It was not just dizziness.  It was a specific kind of dizziness - dizzy only when changing from the standing to laying down position.  Well, anytime my head changed orientation.  If I looked down at my feet, I would get dizzy.   The dizziness was like the kind when you drink too much and the room spins.  That is pretty specific and it was **exactly** what I had written to myself over three years ago. \n\nI simply followed the same steps that I had followed three years ago.   I found a chiropractor, recommended by a friend, and made an appointment.   I waited until he was back from vacation, a common thing where I now live because people go on a lot of long vacations here, and he saw me.  He is an old school nerve doctor and he treated me in much the same way as I had been used to when I lived up north.   Two treatments with him and eliminating any supplements with B12 in them and I am good to go!  \n\nBack to the accident 35 years ago, it ended up being 80% the fault of the woman in the Nissan.  They said if I had chosen to go around that car to the right, around the front end of the car, it would have been 100% her fault.  The police had eye witness accounts of the details. She was ticketed.   My rider was okay and did not sue me.  The hospital bill in today's dollars was about $25,000 and all of those \"doctors\" had billed several thousand each.   \n\nHer insurance paid my hospital bill and because of the automatic awarding  of \"three times damages for pain and suffering\" policies, I ended up getting a check for like $12,000 free and clear and I got a car this time.  \n\nI was on my brother-in-law's Harley within a few weeks because of the old adage to \"get back on the horse\" so to speak.   It was an uneasy ride. I was out on my wheel today, after two month of not trusting my balance. Piloting a plane requires your *attitude* to change when ascending, descending, and turning. It would be a nightmare if my world started spinning while in flight.\n\nI am off of all pharmaceutical products and am sleeping well - no bed spins.  Life is back on track.  That is my story and I am sticking to it.",
