      "body": "On one of the recent nice mornings I parked down at the port and crossed the road and took a stroll around New Bedford's Historic District. Whenever I do that I imagine what it was like back in the day when many of these buildings were built and wonder how life was back then when New Bedford during the peak of whaling days was one of the richest cities in the world\n\nI went with a mono edit for this first shot thinking back to those days\n\nThe Joseph Taber Building is a commercial structure composed of granite ashlar and built c. 1825-1840. This structure is an example of a simple, unadorned vernacular Federal style building. On the interior, the second and third floors are suspended from large trusses by wrought iron rods. Joseph Taber was a pump and blockmaker who conducted his business here from the 1830s to the 1880s.       "body": "And when I say \"FRAGMENTS\", I'm not just referring to these photos, but also to myself, understanding how life unfolds around me. Because in my town, life is divided into disparate pieces among everyone, and the streets end up seeming like a capricious kaleidoscope, with things happening simultaneously but \"for each person and each individual\"... And when I ponder this, when I tend to wander on my aimless walks as a timeless witness, I end up isolating myself somewhat, \"separated\" from everyone, simply \"observing\"... Or perhaps it's just that \"I too am in my own fragment\"? I don't know, but I like to immerse myself in this abstraction that attempts, from my point of view at least, to explain how things happen in each space, and I end up simply taking \"a photo at some point in time\"... Because street photography, I believe; It unconsciously leads us to these kinds of thoughts, where the way everyday life is structured can become a relevant topic...       "body": "Now in winter the sun is setting really early and in the late afternoon you can sometimes find a nice red sunset like this one. During the week it is nearly impossible to find a sunset like this at the moment since the sun has probably already set when I come home from work. But on weekends I am able to whitness some nice sunsets at the nature reserve. I enjoy walking at the nature reserve in woodlands near rivers and it always gives me some kind of great feeling of relaxation. Coming down from the stress during the week and enjoying some nice hours in the nature. Eventhough it is still pretty cold outside I really enjoy walking outside during this time of the year. One of the best feelings is coming back home and starting a nice fire at my fireplace.\n\nAt the nature reserve there are usually always a lot of people walking and enjoying the view as long as the weather is fine.       "body": "When I took my travel companions to Albion on the west coast of Mauritius a couple of weeks ago, the plan was to explore a specific abandoned building. The ruins of the Bergeraz hotel built in 1975. According to an article in the Mauritian newspapers L'express the former hotel belongs on a list of haunted houses on the island. We didn't see these ruins, because they no longer exists. Instead we got to see what is left of the lighthouse keeper's home. We chose to make our first stop at the Albion Lighthouse, because the ruins of the hotel was supposed to be located at the same place as the lighthouse – on top of the Pointe-aux- Caves Cliff. The lighthouse is still standing on the edge of the cliff guiding the ships safely on the way to the harbour in Port Louis.       "body": "I remember when I was a kid; I would pick up feathers, and for some reason they felt a bit fake, like a man-made object. Now I know better, of course, but it is interesting looking at them still and seeing their design, so perfectly suited to the birds they come from. Designed by nature to protect the bird, in this case a Canada goose.
