      "body": "JTBC의 암호화폐 토론회를 봤다. 유시민씨는 수천개의 암호화폐 중 유독 비트코인을 물고 늘어졌다. 토론에 너무 열중한 나머지 본인의 무선마이크 송신기를 두 번이나 바닥에 떨어뜨리면서 말이다. 자신의 설명대로 문과여서 그런지 기술적인 이해도는 좀 부족하지만 사안의 본질을 파악하는 촉 만큼은 상당히 예리하다는 생각이 들었다.\n\n나도 비트코인이 매우 중요한 암호화폐라고 생각한다. 많은 사람들이 이야기하는 것처럼 블록체인 때문이 아니다. 내가 이해하는 비트코인의 핵심은 블록체인이 아니라 peer to peer에 있다. 블록체인은 그것을 완결성있게 구현하기 위한 도구일 뿐이다.\n\n비트코인의 peer to peer는 좁게는 당사자간의 거래를 의미한다. 그러나 넓게는 명확한 중앙집중적 구조를 가진 부채화폐 시스템의 대척점에 있는 무엇을 의미한다. 유사이래 인간은 재화와 정보를 한데 모음으로서 더 높은 효율과 번영을 이뤄왔는데, 이 화폐는 사용자에게 '정부의 발권력에 기대지 않아도, 네가 의지가 있다면 정확한 거래가 가능해'라는 메시지를 던진다. 추측컨데 유씨가 '암호화폐 가만히 두면 안된다'며 열을 올리는 이유도 비트코인이 가진 특유의 이런 아나키한 뉘앙스에 있지않나 싶다. 지금의 시장과 거대 기업들은 힘이 매우 세고, 이를 제어할수 있는 것은 강력한 정부 뿐인데, 비트코인은 정부의 힘을 약화시킨다는 논리일 것이다.\n\n이러한 인식에 대체로 동의한다. 건강한 공동체를 위해 사회 주체들의 힘의 균형은 꼭 필요하다. 다만 나는 '빅데이터 분석 기술과 AI 기술이 발전할수록 정부는 점점 더 시장을 이길 수 없게 될 것'이라는 확신도 동시에 가지고 있다. 그렇기 때문에 유씨와는 달리 비트코인 류의 암호화폐가 확실한 존재가치를 가진다고 생각한다. 어차피 정부 하나만으로 시장을 견제할 수 있는 시대가 지나가고 있다는 이유에서다.\n\n그럼 개인들은 어떻게 시장을 견제할 수 있을까. 나는 개인들이 자신이 생활하며 생성하는 정보들의 가치를 자각하는데서 그 가능성이 시작될 수 있다고 본다. 구글이나 아마존, 네이버 등의 거대 기업들이 차후 제공할 고도의 개인화 서비스들은 모두 당사자가 제공하는 정보들로부터 비롯된다. 지금은 이 기업들이 헐값에 각종 데이터들을 줍줍하고 있다. 가령 SK 텔레콤은 2016년 4월 동부화재와 자동차보험 제휴상품을 출시한 바 있다. SKT가 자사 내비게이션인 티맵으로 운전자의 과속 여부와 급가속, 급정지 등을 측정해 보험사에 넘기면, 보험사가 안전 운전을 하는 운전자 보험료의 10%를 할인해주는 내용이다. 본인 운전정보의 가치를 자각하지 못하는 사람은 '어 티맵 좋네'라고 생각하겠지만 사실 SKT는 운전자가 해당 보험에 가입할때마다 넘겨준 데이터의 대가로 일정 수수료를 받는다. 원래는 정보의 주인인 운전자와 나눠야 할 수수료다. 개인정보의 가치를 깨달으면 이 지점에서 기술 마케팅에 현혹되지 않고 더 유리한 조건을 제시하는 기업을 선택할 수 있게 된다. 정치공동체 구성원이 하나의 정보 생산자로서 시장의 권력구도를 한단계 조율할 수 있게 되는 셈이다.\n\n개인정보의 가치를 자각할 수 있는 가장 빠른 방법은 내 정보에 의미있는 가격을 매겨서 사고팔 수 있는 시스템을 경험하는 것이다. 요즘 이 단계가 잘 설계된 탈중앙화 암호화폐로 가능하지 않을까 상상하고 있다. 그 암호화폐가 제도권 내에 안착하지 못해도 사람들에게 인식의 전환을 줄 수 있다면 대 환영이겠다. 언제나 그랬듯 아님 말고.",
