      "body": "Someone told me he went through a very embarrassing situation, and he keeps replaying the scene\nover and over again in his mind. It happened a while ago, but he can't get over it. He is embarrassed to\nbe seen in public. What could he do to regain his peace of mind?\n\nWe find that our great sages had a very different response when they were embarrassed. One great sage once came home overly happy, and his family asked him why. He said, \"I was just shamed.\nDo you know the value of shame? It is written that if we would know what being shamed\ndid for us, we would actually look forward to being shamed!\"\n\nG-d allows us to be cleansed from our sins in this world, in order not to undergo it in the next world. \"Imagine,\" he said, \"If a person was given a choice of what type of atonement to receive. Imagine he would be asked, \"Do you want a sickness that would require a prolonged stay in the hospital. The person would probably say, 'No, please not that.\" \"What\nabout having that happen to one of your family members?\" \"No! Please no.\" \"Would you like to\nlose all your money instead?\" \"No, definitely not.\"\n\"So you want an atonement; you want to be cleansed, but you're not willing to take anything?\" In the end he\nis told, \"There is one thing we could do for you. It will totally wipe you clean. You will not have to miss a\nday of work. Your family will not be affected, and you can keep all your money.\" The man would say,\n\"Sounds great. I'm in. What is it?\" They would say, \"Being shamed. It's a wondrous atoenment. It's just a\nfeeling, which dealt with the right way, can be overcome very quickly.\"\n\nThere was once a woman in a large crowded city who was not all there mentally. She would stand outside and\nshame anybody who passed her by. She would find out what people were saying about others, and\nwhen she saw them, she would call out the negative remarks people were saying about them in a very\nloud voice. If she saw a teacher who people did not like, she would tell them what the parents and\nchildren thought of him. If she saw a well known and respected individual, she would tell him the negative things his so called friends were saying about him. During a war when bombs were flying, this woman was in the same bomb\nshelter as a great well known sage. There, as well, she would constantly\nheap shame on all the people around her. Some of the people couldn't take it anymore and were\ncontemplating moving her to a different bomb shelter. Before they took action, they consulted with\ntheir leader and mentor.\nHe responded, \"Yes, it's okay, but before you do it, I want to tell you a story about my Father. I had a sister who had a condition that if she would contract a high\nfever, she'd be in danger of dying. One time her fever was over 104 degrees. The doctors tried to lower\nit without success, and they told my parents that there is nothing more to do. At that moment, my\nfather got up and ran out of the hospital. My mother asked him where he could possibly be going at a\ntime like this. He replied, 'I think I can save her. If I get shamed, I'll bring about such atonement  and that\nwill take the place of her death.' He was in charge of collecting the tuition of the school, and he knew\nthat if he asked a certain woman to pay, she would scream at him nastily, even in public. He went and\naccomplished what he set out to do, and miraculously, the fever went down on its own.\"\n \nThe great sage concluded, \"You can remove this woman from our bomb shelter, if you want, but in my\nopinion, she is a gift sent from G-d, because embarrassment will save us from death.\"\nWe may not be on the level to seek shame, but if it does happen, it is a gift from G-d.\n\nWe clearly see the connection between faith, connection to G-d and being rewarded greatly! May we all merit to only trust even when things don't seem like they are going well.       "title": "Health Goals for 2018! (My First Post!)",
      "body": "Hey everyone,\n\nI like to write and I am excited about using steem it for the first time. I didn't know what I wanted to start writing about and with it just being New Years I figured its a good time to discuss goals. I chose specifically health to talk about today.\n\nAlmost everyone gets into health starting new Years and often jumps off the ban wagon soon after (speaking from personal experience) sometimes in Mar or April, and some people don't even get to February.\nMake this year different, lets make goals and stick to them all year!\n\nWe need to change our mind set in order to change our actions.\nWe need to think healthy, and think feeling good and we will.\nLets make this year different!\n\n“Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve,” Napoleon Hill once said. “The mind is everything. What you think, you become,” Buddha taught. You've heard high-minded quotes like these all your life.\nHenry Ford also said “Whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right.”\n\nThis isn't a quote blog post but you can't talk about the power of the mind without mentioning at least a couple famous well known quotes.\n\nThere are so many small things one can do :\n\nYou do have a smart phone, dont tell me you dont.\n\n1. Download a free step counter (if it's not even on your phone already) and use it. Its free, its simple to use and effective. Set your goal of how many steps you want to walk and go for it.\nStart small if you want and every week or two raise it if possible.\n\nIts there simple strategies that make a difference in the long term.\n\n2. Drink more water (and less soda and other sugary drinks).\nPretty self explanatory right?\nNot everyone has an easy time drinking water, I get it.\nIt is huge though. If you are a big soda drinker and slowly but surely cut out all soda from your diet I think you can easily lose 10 or more lbs a year or about a lb a month with just this one change. Of course the more one needs to lose the quicker one will lose.\n\nDrink especially before meals. I have used this myself and I am a firm believer of it. Some say its healthier to drink 30 minutes before one eats, I don't know. I just know if you drink a couple cups (yes a couple is 2) of water before you eat and give it s few minutes you will be less likely to overeat and will end up eating less and thus saving many calories and will leave you feeling better as well.\nThere are many more tips and tricks but if we want to make progress we need to start small Remember, the faster you climb the quicker you can fall!\n\nMaybe soon we'll talk more about eating habits and going to the gym but for now thats all folks.\nHope you enjoyed, if you did please let everyone know!\n\nKeep up the good work fellow steemians!",
