Dicho esto, la definición de  **Reiki para Animales**  puede cambiar dependiendo de la fuente. Una definición que me gustó es la que ofrece la [UK Reiki Federation](https://www.reikifed.co.uk/reiki-healing/animal-reiki/): es el ofrecer Reiki a animales. Es una definición sencilla y que va al grano. Es el principal centro energético, el que conecta con todo el resto de chakras. No matter if the receiver is a human, an animal, a plant, or even a rock. Reiki is Energy Healing. Energy being channelled by the Healer towards the receiver. Desafortunadamente, la información sobre  **electromagnetismo humano**  que puedes encontrar en los libros de texto es incompleta. Faltan muchas piezas del rompecabezas. Necesitamos más investigación y consenso acerca de todos los eventos electromagnéticos que tiene el cuerpo humano, y si existe un campo global.\n\nEl papel exacto del campo electromagnético humano parece estar fuertemente conectado con  **eventos subconscientes**. Aunque esta teoría está en desarrollo, varios científicos han escrito sobre ella, entre ellos el Dr. Fröhlich, el Dr. Pokorny, y el Dr. Cifra.\n\n----------\n\n## BIOFOTONES\n\nEn 1976, el físico teórico y experimental  **Fritz-Albert Popp**  descubrió que los seres vivos producen  **Emisiones Fotónicas Ultradébiles (EFU, o UPE en inglés)**. Él dedicó el resto de su vida a estudiar este fenómeno, y acuñó el término:  **Biofotón**. Ésta teoría implica que los seres vivos producen fotones.\n\n**En otras palabras: los humanos emiten luz.**\n\nAhora, estas emisiones son muy débiles, y necesitamos fotomultiplicadores para detectarlas. Debido a que los seres vivos estamos hechos de un 70% de agua, los resultados están brindando las primeras evidencias sobre lo cuánticos que somos.\n\nEsta teoría abre un amplio abanico de posibilidades, y antes de que la describa, hay que tener en cuenta que las iniciales EZ se refieren a  **Zona de Exclusión**  en inglés. En dicha zona, excluyen todas las cargas positivas cerca de la membrana, por lo que esa área vecina a la membrana acumula cargas negativas. Esto  **crea otro potencial eléctrico**, justo como el potencial de membrana. Bajo estas condiciones, la molécula de agua deja de ser H20 y su estructura es entonces H302. Esto le otorga un nuevo estado al agua, y es un estado entre el líquido y el sólido\n\nEl Agua EZ se produce siempre que existe  **agua junto a un material hidrofílico**, creando dicha zona EZ. Lo más sorprendente de esto es que la zona EZ crece cuando recibe luz. Cada área con estas características es un Dominio Cuántico Coherente, y éstos se sincronizan con sus vecinos, hasta que  **el organismo entero se vuelve electromagnéticamente coherente**.\n\nEl Dr. Pollack concluye con la siguiente frase: ‘_Las células se comportan como si fueran  **baterías energizadas por luz**, porque el agua EZ produce un plasma de electrones libres que favorece las reacciones redox, que son la base del metabolismo energético en los seres vivos_‘.\n\nEsto nos brinda otro argumento a favor de que el Sol es bueno para nuestra salud, ya que la luz solar amplifica la zona EZ y esto a su vez amplifica la energía de esta batería orgánica.\n\nEl trabajo de Del Giudice enfatiza el hecho de que el agua que retiene campos electromagnéticos es la que nos da la vida y nos hace sensibles a los campos electromagnéticos. Todavía estás considerando que somos un 70% agua, ¿verdad? Éstas moléculas permiten que los campos magnéticos tengan influencia en los seres vivos. Las bacterias, por ejemplo, almacenan magnetita dentro de estructuras conocidas como  **magnetosomas**, y las utilizan para navegación.\n\nLas tortugas caguama (_Caretta caretta_) migran a través del Océano Atlántico, para luego volver a anidar, y los científicos descubrieron que: ‘[eventualmente regresan a anidar a la misma playa donde nacieron -o en su defecto, a una isla con un campo magnético similar al de la playa original.‘](https://www.sciencealert.com/scientists-have-discovered-a-fascinating-link-between-magnetic-fields-and-turtle-nesting)\n\nLa brújula magnética de las aves es un sistema complejo con varias propiedades. La base de su sentido geomagnético se localiza en el  **ojo**, pero algunas aves también disponen de magnetita en la parte  **superior del pico**, lo cual les orienta durante las migraciones.\n\nTambién en las aves, tanto la magnetita como el [criptocromo](http://www.ks.uiuc.edu/Research/cryptochrome/)  son moléculas que asisten en la navegación adecuada, pero en los humanos solamente se ha encontrado magnetita. Hay evidencia de magnetita en varias partes del cerebro (incluyendo todos los lóbulos), el tallo cerebral, el cerebelo, los ganglios basales, y el hipocampo.\n\nEl papel de la magnetita en el cuerpo humano todavía no se comprende. Aunque carece de suficiente evidencia y consenso científico, es bastante interesante la idea del Dr. Popp. Él propone que la  **principal fuente de biofotones es el ADN**. Otras teorías apuestan por la existencia de un  **ADN resonante**  que crea a la vez que absorbe ondas electromagnéticas. Otras teorías indican que el ADN se acopla con estructuras específicas en el momento de división celular. En realidad, encontrar una nueva propiedad del ADN, prácticamente cualquiera que sea, sería un momento muy interesante y que cambiará las reglas del juego. Esto hará del ADN una molécula todavía más relevante, pero todas estas teorías requieren de más estudios.\n\n----------\n\n## TELOCITOS\n\nLos telocitos fueron descubiertos en 2005, así que su propósito todavía no se define. Éstos son células que forman parte del andamiaje y pegamento de los tejidos y órganos. Crean una red que recorre todo el cuerpo, conectándose entre ellos y también a diversas estructuras del citoesqueleto. La más conocida de estas células son los fibroblastos, que se encargan de crear tejido conectivo y colágeno ([click aquí para leer las propiedades eléctricas del colágeno](https://www.humanfrequencies.com/living-matrix/)).\n\nRecuerda que la estructura determina la función.\n\nSi la estructura de los telocitos es diferente a la estructura de los fibroblastos, entonces su función también es diferente. Para añadirle curiosidad al asunto, los telocitos son estructuralmente similares a las neuronas. Dicho esto, hay que considerar que mientras más asimétrica sea una célula, más citoesqueleto necesita para que la estructura se mantenga estable. Necesita más andamiaje, por así decirlo.\n\nLa relevancia del citoesqueleto aumenta al pensar que pueden jugar un papel como  **material resonante y electroconductivo**, creando y permitiendo el flujo de electricidad. Ésta teoría general está muy ligada a la  [Teoría Orch-OR](https://www.humanfrequencies.com/es/teoria-cuantica-conciencia/).\n\n----------\n\n## TRANSMISIÓN DE EMOCIONES\n\nEl Instituto de Heart Math propone que los patrones rítmicos del corazón pueden transmitir información emocional a través del campo electromagnético ambiental, y ésta información puede ser detectada por otras personas, y procesada de la misma manera que las señales internas.\n\n----------\n\nRecuerda que todas éstas son todavía teorías, se supone que tengan huecos o que estén incompletas. Por eso no me expando mucho en ellas, por ahora.\n\n----------\n\n### CONCLUSIÓN\n\nToda la Vida se resume en una  **transferencia organizada y eficiente de protones y electrones**. Ésta es la base de todas las reacciones bioquímicas.\n\nTodo comienza con la  **membrana celular**, la cual separa selectivamente cargas eléctricas a cada lado, entonces creando un  **potencial eléctrico**  y un  **campo eléctrico**  alrededor de la célula.\n\nEl campo electromagnético celular, en su forma total, también está compuesto de estructuras importantes, como los microtúbulos y el citoesqueleto. Incluso el DNA puede tener relación.\n\nEl Dr. Igor Jerman remarca el  **papel crucial del campo eléctrico**  cuando la célula se está dividiendo: ‘_los campos eléctricos generados por la red intracelular de microtúbulos, centrosomas, y cromosomas aparentan tener propiedades fundamentales sobre la regulación de la dinámica de la división celular, y otras varias actividades celulares_‘.\n\nY el Dr. Muehsam menciona algo similar: ‘_los campos electromagnéticos creados por las células vivas pueden jugar un rol fundamental en la función celular y la comunicación intercelular'_.\n\nÉste es un campo eléctrico que crea  **patrones de oscilación, y coherencia**, que regulan las diferentes actividades de la célula, al mismo tiempo que se adaptan e intercambian energía e información con el medio ambiente, ya que son sensibles a frecuencias específicas, tanto eléctricas como magnéticas.\n\nPor lo tanto, los campos eléctricos y electromagnéticos de la célula, están relacionados con:\n\n-   división celular\n    \n-   función celular\n    \n-   comunicación intercelular\n    \n\nEl corazón es tanto un emisor como un receptor de energía electromagnética, produce el campo electromagnético  **más potente de todo el cuerpo**, y puede alcanzar 1 metro de distancia a su alrededor. El corazón puede ser un **generador de bioinformación**.\n\nMacroscópicamente hablando, todavía hay muchas piezas que faltan para terminar este rompecabezas. Actualmente reconocemos y estudiamos los campos electromagnéticos del corazón y del cerebro, pero hay que integrarlos también, además de añadir potenciales campos electromagnéticos de otros órganos o sistemas (como el sistema digestivo, o la red de telocitos que ya se mencionaron).\n\nEl camino a seguir es bastante prometedor y emocionante, incluye algunos de los siguientes puntos:\n\n-   integrar el área macroscópica del cuerpo humano\n    \n-   determinar si el campo magnético del corazón es el predominante, o si existe otro campo, que integre holísticamente todo el cuerpo\n    \n-   profundizar la interacción e intercambio de información entre los campos magnéticos del corazón y el cerebro\n    \n-   descubrir más sobre las propiedades eléctricas del sistema digestivo y del nervio vago\n    \n-   la evolución de teorías muy interesantes, como los biofotones, el agua EZ, las propiedades eléctricas de los microtúbulos, entre muchas otras.\n    \n\n----------\n\nFinalmente, tengo que aclarar que por ahora no he mencionado al Biocampo. However, information about  **human electromagnetism**  is still incomplete. Many pieces of the puzzle are waiting to be discovered. We need scientific consensus about how many electromagnetic fields (**EMFs**) are in the human body, and if there is one global electromagnetic field.\n\nThe exact role of the electromagnetic human field seems to be deeply involved with  **subconscious events**. It might also perform as an  **energetic membrane**, where energy and information are being exchanged with our environment.\n\nThere are a lot of theories that are related to electromagnetism in the human body, therefore this post only presents an extract.\n\n----------\n\n## **COHERENCE**\n\nBefore going any further, there is a phenomenon that is mentioned over and over. Coherence plays important roles in many theories, this is because it  **enables efficient transfer of energy and information**.\n\nCoherence happens when two waves share the  **same frequency and waveform**. It was discovered in optics (light) but has expanded towards acoustics, neuroscience, and quantum mechanics.\n\nYou will find this term pretty much on this website.\n\n----------\n\n## MICROTUBULES\n\nMicrotubules are protein filaments that provide  **structure and shape**  to the cell. These little dynamic tubes satisfy the architectonic needs, depending on the cellular phase. They form part of the  **cytoskeleton**, and they are quite active.\n\nA few decades ago, they were considered only as support structures with no interaction or dynamic patterns, but there is enough evidence to give them an important role in many cellular processes. The interesting part here is that the microtubules seem to be guided (or at least strongly related) by the  **electric field of the cell**.\n\nMicrotubules play a fundamental part in several theories. Dr. Pokorni postulated that microtubules have an important role when the cell has a  **peak electromagnetic emission**  during replication. This theory is still in development, but it has good arguments. Some scientists that have written about it are Dr. Fröhlich, Dr. Pokorný, and Dr. Cifra.\n\n----------\n\n## BIOPHOTONS\n\nIn 1976, experimental and theoretical physicist  **Fritz-Albert Popp**  discovered  **Ultraweak Photon Emissions**  (UPE) from living beings. He dedicated the rest of his life to studying this phenomenon and coined the term  **Biophoton**. This Theory mentions that living beings produce photons.\n\n**In other words: humans emit light.**\n\nNow, these emissions are extremely weak, so we need photomultipliers to help us detect them. This theory is applying all our current knowledge of  **quantum electrodynamics**  towards water. And, since living beings are 70% made of water, we are getting the first evidence about the  **quantumness in ourselves**.\n\nThis theory opens a whole new universe of possibilities, and before I describe it, take into consideration that EZ refers to Exclusion Zone, the exclusion of positive charges near the membrane. The membrane then accumulates negative charges next to it. This creates  **another electric potential**, just like with the cell membrane's electric potential. Under these conditions, the water molecule stops being H20, and becomes H302, it's a state in between the liquid and the solid phase of water, so this theory also unveils a new state of water.\n\nEZ Water forms whenever  **water is next to a hydrophilic material**, creating an  **EZ Zone**. The amazing part is that the EZ Zone grows when it receives light. Photons that are inside water start resonating and creating an electromagnetic field. Each area with these characteristics is a Quantum Coherent Domain. These Domains synchronize with their neighbors until the  **whole organism is electromagnetically coherent**.\n\nDr. Pollack concludes with the following sentence:\n\n_‘Cells work as a  **light-driven battery**  because the EZ Water produces a plasma of almost free electrons favoring redox reactions, the basis of energy metabolism in living organisms'._\n\nSo now we have another argument to why the Sun is so good for our health, because light amplifies the EZ zone, therefore amplyfing the energy of this organic battery.\n\nDel Giudice's work tells us that it is water trapping EMFs that give us life and makes us sensitive to EMFs. You are still considering that we are 70% water, right? If this is true, we are like  **electromagnetic wet sponges**  with waterproof skin, creating energy thanks to how the water and molecules inside are divided by an ultra-thin membrane, then creating resonance and coherence due to the capacity of water of trapping EMFs.\n\nI recommend you watch any video of Dr. Pollack. Choose your flavor.\n\n----------\n\n## GEOMAGNETIC SENSE\n\nWe know that certain animals detect the geomagnetic field, which is the magnetic field of the Earth. These molecules account for the influence of magnetic fields on living beings. Bacteria , for example, keep magnetite inside a structure known as  **magnetosome**, and they use it for navigation.\n\nLoggerhead turtles (_Caretta caretta_) migrate across the Atlantic Ocean, and then they go back to nest, and scientists discovered that:  [“eventually they return to nest on the beach where they hatched—or else, as it turns out, on a beach with a very similar magnetic field](https://www.sciencealert.com/scientists-have-discovered-a-fascinating-link-between-magnetic-fields-and-turtle-nesting).”\n\nThe magnetic compass of the birds is a complex system with many properties. The basis for their magnetic sense is located in the  **eye**  of the bird, but some birds display magnetite in the  **upper beak**, which helps them orient during migrations.\n\nIn birds, both magnetite and  [cryptochrome](http://www.ks.uiuc.edu/Research/cryptochrome/)  are molecules that help them to navigate properly, but in humans, only magnetite has been found in various parts of the brain (including all lobes), brainstem, cerebellum, basal ganglia, and the hippocampus.\n\nThe role of magnetite in the human body is still not well understood. Dr. Kirschvink is probably the most active scientist in this area. He  [published an article along](http://www.sci-news.com/biology/human-geomagnetic-sense-07005.html?platform=hootsuite)  with Dr. Shin Shimojo, which mentions the following:\n\n“_In our experiment, alpha-ERD shows that the human brain can detect Earth-strength magnetic fields, demonstrating that we have a sensory system that processes the geomagnetic field all around us._”\n\n----------\n\n## **DNA**\n\nAs you might have imagined, there are a freaking lot of theories that link electromagnetic phenomena to DNA. Still lacking enough evidence and scientific consensus, but quite interesting, is the idea from Dr. Popp. He proposes that the  **best source of Biophotons is DNA**. Other theories bet for the existence of a  **resonant DNA**  that creates and also absorbs electromagnetic waves. There are also theories in which DNA couples with specific structures when at cellular division.\n\nActually, anything that gives DNA another property which we still can't read in textbooks, will be a game-changer. It will make it even more relevant, but all those theories require further study.\n\n----------\n\n## TELOCYTES\n\nTelocytes were discovered in 2005, so their purpose is still under research. These ones are cells that are the glue and scaffolding of tissues and organs. They create a whole network around the body, connecting themselves and also to other cytoskeleton structures. The most known of these cells are fibroblasts, which take care of creating connective tissue and collagen ([read about the electrical properties of collagen here](https://www.humanfrequencies.com/living-matrix/)).\n\nRemember that structure determines function.\n\nIf the structure of telocytes is different from the structure of fibroblasts, then their function is different as well. To makes things more curious, telocytes are structurally similar to neurons. With that said, we must consider that the more asymmetrical a cell is, the more cytoskeleton it needs to safeguard its structure. It needs more scaffolding, so to speak.\n\nThis makes microtubules and the cytoskeleton more relevant. The cytoskeleton plays as a  **resonant and electroconductive material**, which creates and allows the flow of electricity. This one is strongly related to the  [Orch OR Theory.](https://www.humanfrequencies.com/quantum-theory-consciousness/)\n\n----------\n\n## TRANSMISSION OF EMOTIONS\n\nThe Institute of Heart Math proposes that the heart's rhythmic patterns can transmit emotional information via the electromagnetic field into the environment, which can be detected by others and processed in the same manner as internally generated signals.\n\n----------\n\nRemember that these are theories, they are supposed to have gaps and holes. This is why I don't expand too much on all of them, for now.\n\n----------\n\n### CONCLUSION\n\nAll of Life resumes in an organized and efficient  **transfer of protons and electrons**. These are the basis of all major biochemical reactions.\n\nIt all begins with the  **cell membrane**, which selectively separates charges on each side, thus creating an  **electric potential**  and an  **electric field around the cell**.\n\nThe whole cellular electromagnetic field is also created by other important structures, such as microtubules and cytoskeleton. And probably DNA as well.\n\nIt's Dr. Igor Jerman who mentions the  **key role of the electric field**  when a cell is dividing itself: ‘_electric fields generated by the intracellular network of microtubules, centrosomes, and chromosomes appear to play fundamental roles in regulating the dynamics of cellular division, and a variety of other cellular activities_‘.\n\nAnd Dr. Muehsam mentions something similar: ‘_EMFs generated by living cells can play fundamental functional roles in cellular function and intercellular communication_‘.\n\nThis is an electric field that creates  **coherence and oscillation patterns**, which regulate different functions, at the same time adapting and exchanging energy and information with the environment, because they are sensitive to specific electric and magnetic signals.\n\nThus, the electric and EMFs of the cell are linked to:\n\n-   cellular division\n    \n-   cellular function\n    \n-   intercellular communication\n    \n\nThe heart is both an emitter and receiver of electromagnetic information, it produces the  **strongest**  electromagnetic field of the human body, which can reach up to 3 feet away from it. The heart could be a  **generator of bioinformation**.\n\nMacroscopically speaking, there are still many pieces of the puzzle missing. So far we know about the EMFs of the heart and the brain, but we need to integrate them both, along with adding any other significant field that any other organ may provide (such as the gut, or the cytoskeleton + connective tissue network mentioned in this post).\n\nThe road ahead is promising and exciting, and includes some of the following:\n\n-   integrating the macroscopic realm of human electromagnetism\n    \n-   determining if the heart's magnetic field is the predominant one, or if there is another field, which holistically integrates the whole body\n    \n-   the interaction and exchange of information between the heart's and the brain's magnetic fields\n    \n-   discover more about the electric properties of the gut and the Vagus Nerve\n    \n-   the evolution of very interesting theories, such as biophotons, EZ water, and the electric properties of microtubules, among many others.\n    \n\n----------\n\nFinally, I need to make clear that I have not mentioned the Biofield so far. CORRIENTES ELÉCTRICAS\n\nTodas las reacciones bioquímicas requieren la  **transferencia de cargas eléctricas**. El funcionamiento de las neuronas y los músculos se basa en un lenguaje electromagnético-químico.\n\nCuando hablamos de corrientes eléctricas que fluyen a través del cuerpo, entonces tenemos que hablar del Dr. Robert Becker.\n\nÉl era un investigador en electromedicina, y sus investigaciones demuestran que los organismos vivos poseen una carga eléctrica de  **Corriente Directa (DC)**, la cual se puede medir desde la superficie corporal.\n\nPor lo tanto, el cuerpo humano utiliza corrientes directas para comunicarse y enviar información.\n\nUn  [artículo escrito](https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.2466/pms.1973.36.3c.1131)  por el célebre Dr. Persinger menciona el trabajo de Robert Becker y el efecto de corrientes eléctricas aplicadas en los seres humanos. Sus resultados demuestran que dichas corrientes pueden influenciar el cerebro. El Dr. Persinger también recalca el hecho de que Becker y sus colegas han  **reportado la presencia de al menos un campo electrostático alrededor de los organismos**  (otra confirmación del campo eléctrico celular del cual ya hemos hablado en el artículo anterior).\n\nInvestigaciones posteriores han permitido profundizar en las propiedades de dichos campos eléctricos y corrientes DC están relacionadas con la curación de heridas, y la regulación de procesos como la embriogénesis. (McCaig).\n\nDe acuerdo con los resultados del Dr. Becker. podemos afirmar dos cosas:\n\n-   El cuerpo humano possee un lenguaje eléctrico del corriente directa (DC)\n    \n-   Existe un campo electrostático alrededor de los organismos\n    \n\n----------\n\n## 7. BIOMAGNETISMO\n\nComo ya se ha mencionado, la detección y medición de la actividad eléctrica de los serves vivos es bastante habitual desde hace varias décadas, el magnetismo se estaba quedando atrás debido a la falta de tecnología adecuada. Pero la teoría ya estaba establecida gracias a la adaptación de  [La Ley de Ampère](https://www.humanfrequencies.com/amperes-law/)  hacia los seres vivos. Dicha Ley determina que cualquier corriente eléctrica que fluye a lo largo de un  **conductor**, produce un campo magnético alrededor de la misma. En el caso de los seres vivos, la corriente eléctrica es el potencial de acción, y el  **conductor es el axon de la neurona**.\n\nEsto abre la posibilidad de que varias estructuras biológicas tengan campos magnéticos. Si el cuerpo está inmerso en un eterno flujo de corrientes eléctricas, entonces hay un campo magnético alrededor de cada una de esas corrientes.\n\nActualmente, los investigadores miden campos electromagnéticos endógenos mediante el uso de dispositivos específicos para cada parte del cuerpo, como el cerebro (electroencefalograma, magnetoencefalograma), y el corazón (electrocardiograma, magnetocardiograma).\n\nUn gran ejemplo es el  [Proyecto del Conectoma Humano](http://www.humanconnectomeproject.org/), cuya titánica misión es analizar una enorme base de datos de  **magnetoencefalografías**  hechas a voluntarios alrededor del planeta.\n\n----------\n\n## 8. SQUID\n\nLa invención del dispositivo  [SQUID](https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/SQUID)  cambió por completo el panorama, ya que permite  **detectar campos magnéticos en el cuerpo humano**. El primero de éstos se inventó en 1964, y es básicamente un  **magnetómetro muy sensible**, capaz de detectar campos magnéticos muy pero muy sutiles. El SQUID permite medir la actividad magnética de ciertos órganos, como el corazón o el cerebro. ONDAS CEREBRALES\n\nLa actividad eléctrica del cerebro tiene patrones repetitivos (oscilaciones) que dependen de nuestro comportamiento y nuestras emociones. Dichas oscilaciones son conocidas como Ondas Cerebrales. Estas oscilaciones se localizan en una área específica del espectro electromagnético: la zona de  **Frecuencias Extremadamente Bajas**  (si has leído más artículos en este sitio, verás que muchos fenómenos se encuentran en esta área de frecuencias).\n\nLas ondas cerebrales son 5, y cubren frecuencias que van desde 1 Hz hasta 150 Hz. CORAZÓN\n\nÉste es el  **principal órgano**  en cuanto a electromagnetismo humano se refiere. El corazón es la  **mayor fuente de energía electromagnética**  en el cuerpo humano. También, cuando los latidos cardiacos son más coherentes, el campo electromagnético que está siendo emitido por el corazón es más organizado.\n\nEl  [Instituto de Heart Math](https://www.heartmath.org/)  menciona lo siguiente:\n\n_‘El campo eléctrico del corazón es alrededor de 60 veces superior en amplitud en comparación a la actividad eléctrica del cerebro._  \n_El campo magnético del corazón supera en más de 100 veces la fuerza del campo generado por el cerebro, y puede ser detectado hasta 1 metro fuera del cuerpo, en todas las direcciones, utilizando magnetómetros SQUID.'_\n\n<center>![](https://www.humanfrequencies.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/GIF-Heart-Brain.gif)</center>\n\nCuando el corazón se contrae, rota y produce torsión, al mismo tiempo que sucede un  **flujo sanguíneo en vortex**  en el ventrículo izquierdo. Varios estudios han analizado la sensibilidad de este órgano.  **El corazón es electromagnéticamente sensible**, pudiendo sentir campos del mismo cuerpo y del exterior. El libro «[The Science of the Heart](https://www.heartmath.org/research/science-of-the-heart/energetic-communication/)«, es un repaso de la amplia investigación que ha realizado el Instituto de Heart Math, y menciona lo siguiente:\n\n_«El corazón es un órgano sensitivo que actúa como un sofisticado centro de codificación y procesamiento, y que le permite aprender, recordar, y realizar decisiones de manera independiente»._\n\nEn otras palabras,  **el corazón siente**. Recibe e interpreta información electromagnética, y actúa en correspondencia al estímulo.\n\n----------\n\n## 11. SISTEMA DIGESTIVO\n\nHace no muchos años, el sistema digestivo era solamente un procesador de comida., sin ninguna otra propiedad especial. Las cosas han cambiado mucho desde entonces, y actualmente ya tiene el sobrenombre de «**el segundo cerebro**«. El sistema digestivo actúa como un  **regulador principal de los estados motivacionales y emocionales**, e incluso investigadores de la Escuela de Medicina en el Monte Sinai han descubierto los circuitos entre las tripas y el cerebro.\n\nEn el artículo:  [Gut Branches of the Vagus Nerve Are Essential Components of the Brain’s Reward and Motivation System](https://www.mountsinai.org/about/newsroom/2018/gut-branches-of-the-vagus-nerve-are-essential-components-of-the-brains-reward-and-motivation-system), ellos explican que la rama derecha del nervio vago (que se encuentra en el abdomen) tiene conexión directa con las neuronas de recompensa dopaminérgica en el tallo cerebral.\n\nEste conocimiento profundiza la eficacia de la  **terapia de estimulación vagal**, un tratamiento que implica la aplicación de impulsos eléctricos sobre el nervio vago, especialmente en pacientes que sufren de problemas emocionales y alimenticios.\n\nOtro interesante descubrimiento lo hicieron científicos de la Universidad de California, en Berkeley, donde se comprobó que algunas  [bacterias que viven en nuestros intestinos pueden crear electricidad](https://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2018-09/uoc--gbs091118.php). Dichas bacterias pueden crear tanta electricidad como algunas bacterias electrógenas que viven fuera de nuestro cuerpo. La única razón que tenemos por ahora acerca de porqué generan electricidad es para eliminar electrones producidos durante el metabolismo, y para apoyar la producción de energía.\n\nIgual que con el corazón, la zona abdominal es una importante área sensitiva, donde se recibe e interpreta información del mundo exterior. Muchos le llaman  **intuición**, y estoy parcialmente de acuerdo, ya que es información procesada inconscientemente, pero necesitamos mucha más investigación al respecto.\n\n----------\n\n### CONCLUSIÓN\n\nHasta este punto, hemos discutido las bases principales del bioelectromagnetismo. Let's focus now on the macroscopic aspects of it. Let's see which organs and parts of the body produce electromagnetism, and if there is any relationship between them.\n\n## 6. ELECTRIC CURRENTS\n\nAll biochemical reactions require the  **transfer of electrical charges**. Neurons and muscles function because our body has an electromagnetic-chemical language.\n\nIf we are talking about the electric currents that flow through the body, then we should talk about  **Dr. Robert Becker**.\n\nHe was a researcher in electromedicine, and his work proves that living organisms display a  **Direct Current (DC)**  of electric charge, which is measurable from their body surface.\n\nTherefore, the human body uses DC currents to communicate and transfer information.\n\nAn  **[article](https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.2466/pms.1973.36.3c.1131)**  by Dr. Persinger mentions that Robert Becker studied the effect of electric currents applied to human beings. His results show that these electric currents can influence the brain. Dr. Persinger also mentions that  **Becker and his co-workers have reported the presence of at least an electrostatic field around organisms** (another confirmation of the existence of the cellular electric field which we talked about in the previous post).\n\nFurther studies also added the fact that endogenous electric fields and DC currents are involved in wound healing, and regulate processes such as embryogenesis (McCaig).\n\nAccording to Dr. Becker's work, we can affirm two things:\n\n-   The Human Body has a Direct Current-type electrical language\n    \n-   There exists an electrostatic field around organisms.\n    \n\n----------\n\n## 7. BIOMAGNETISM\n\nIt has already been mentioned that detecting and measuring the electric activity of living beings is quite common since many decades ago, magnetism was lagging due to the lack of technology. But the theory was already established, thanks to the adaptation of  **Ampère's Law**  towards living beings. This Law determines that any electric current flowing through a  **conductor**  produces a magnetic field around it. In living beings, the electric current is the action potential, and  **the conductor is the axon of the nerve.**\n\nThis opens the possibility for several biological structures to carry magnetic fields. If the body is immersed in an eternal flow of little electric currents, then there is a magnetic field along with each one of those currents.\n\nNowadays, researchers measure endogenous electromagnetic fields using devices specific for each organ, such as the brain (electroencephalogram, magnetoencephalogram), and the heart (electrocardiogram, magnetocardiogram).\n\nA great example is the  **[Human Connectome Project](http://www.humanconnectomeproject.org/)**, whose titanic mission is to analyze a huge database of  **magnetoencephalographies**  from volunteers all around the world.\n\n----------\n\n## 8. SQUID\n\nThe  [SQUID](https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/SQUID)  is a huge game-changer when we talk about  **detecting the magnetic fields**  of the human body, or biomagnetic fields.\n\nThis device was invented in 1964, and it's a very  **sensitive magnetometer**, being capable to measure extremely subtle magnetic fields. Thanks to the SQUID we can detect the magnetic activity of certain organs, such as the brain and the heart. Now we can influence the brain waves by using  **Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation**. HEART\n\nThe  **heart is the main organ**  when speaking of human electromagnetism. The heart creates the  **most powerful source of electromagnetic energy**  in the human body. Several studies have analyzed the sensibility of this organ. The  **heart is electromagnetically sensitive**, and it can sense fields from the body and external sources. DIGESTIVE SYSTEM (GUT)\n\nNot too many years ago, the gut was nothing more than a food processor, without any other special properties. Many things have changed since then, and nowadays we call it “**the second brain**“. The gut acts as a  **major regulator of motivational and emotional states**, and researchers from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai discovered this gut-brain neuronal circuitry.\n\nIn the article:  [Gut Branches of the Vagus Nerve Are Essential Components of the Brain’s Reward and Motivation System](https://www.mountsinai.org/about/newsroom/2018/gut-branches-of-the-vagus-nerve-are-essential-components-of-the-brains-reward-and-motivation-system), they found that the right branch of the vagus nerve (which is located in the gut) actually contacts the dopamine reward neurons in the brainstem.\n\nThis knowledge will increase the efficacy of  **vagal nerve stimulation therapy**, a treatment that involves delivering electrical impulses to the vagus nerve, for patients suffering from emotional and eating disorders.\n\nAnother interesting discovery was made by scientists at the University of California, Berkeley, where they found that the  [bacteria inside our gut can create electricity](https://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2018-09/uoc--gbs091118.php). These bacteria can make as much electricity as other already known electrogenic bacteria that live outside our bodies. The only reason we have so far for bacteria to create electricity is to remove electrons produced during metabolism and to support energy production.\n\nJust like the heart, the gut is also known to be an important sensitive area, in which information from the outside world is received and interpreted. INTRO\n\nÉsta serie de artículos explica cómo creamos un  **campo electromagnético humano** y cómo se utiliza para  **enviar información**. Los biocampos electromagnéticos son clave para entender cómo funcionan nuestros cuerpos, ya que son un intermediario entre el cuerpo físico y nuestras zonas etéreas.\n\nEl cuerpo humano tiene un lenguaje  **electromagnético-químico**. Esto significa que la información que fluye por el cuerpo es de 2 tipos: electromagnético y químico; y éstos interactúan entre sí constantemente. Los libros de texto usualmente comentan que el lenguage es electroquímico, ya que el magnetismo llegó tarde en comparación a los descubrimientos eléctricos y químicos, pero actualmente es más certero definirlo como electromagnético-químico.\n\nÉste primer artículo determina cuáles son los elementos clave que permiten la existencia de  **fenómenos electromagnéticos en nuestros cuerpos**.\n\n----------\n\n## 2. CARAS OPUESTAS DE LA MISMA MONEDA\n\nEl siglo XVIII era una época en la cual el electromagnetismo era un fenómeno externo, y no tenía  **ningún vínculo con los seres vivos**. De hecho, hasta el año 1800, tanto la electricidad como el magnetismo se consideraban fenómenos separados, y  [fundar una Teoría Electromagnética](https://www.humanfrequencies.com/es/teoria-electromagnetica/)  también estaba pendiente.\n\n**Franz Anton Mesmer**  y  **Luigi Galvani**  nacieron en dicha época, incluso en la misma década; Mesmer nació en 1734, y Galvani en 1737.\n\nEllos son como caras opuestas de la misma moneda.\n\nMesmer se dedicó sobre la  **naturaleza magnética del cuerpo humano**, considerado por muchos como un charlatán que ofrecía un espectáculo, mientras que Galvani era un científico respetado que contribuyó enormemente en  **establecer el vínculo científico entre la electricidad y los seres vivos**.\n\n### FRANZ ANTON MESMER (1734-1825)\n\nEl introdujo el término  **_magnetismo animal_**, explicándolo de manera muy semejante a lo que la Medicina Tradicional China entiende como Chi (Qi). La definición de Salud para Mesmer es el  _flujo libre del proceso de la vida, a través de miles de canales en el cuerpo_. Su acto implicaba manipular imanes sobre una persona, con el supuesto fin de reestablecer dicho flujo. Posteriormente se dio cuenta de que el uso de las manos ya conseguía resultados, y eventualmente descartó el uso de imanes para sólo utilizar las manos.\n\nCabe la gran posibilidad de que Mesmer fuera un charlatán, honestamente no lo puedo descartar. Yo quiero pensar que había algo de efecto en sus sesiones, pero nunca podría confirmarlo. Él no era ningún científico, nunca se dedicó a estudiar este fenómeno, le iba muy bien ofreciendo sesiones a la gente bien de París.\n\nDe cualquier manera, en una Era en la cual el electromagnetismo era considerado como algo externo a nosotros, es curioso que Mesmer explicaba que sus efectos eran de causa magnética, y que utilizara imanes para curar a la gente. También es de interés que, a través de la experiencia, descartó los imanes y utilizara solamente las manos, como actualmente lo hace un terapeuta energético.\n\n### LUIGI GALVANI (1737-1798)\n\nEs bastante famoso su experimento sobre la  **corriente eléctrica que contrae la pierna**  de una rana. Éste evento fue la chispa que encendió una guerra sin cuartel entre dos bandos. Galvani y Marconi no se ponían de acuerdo sobre las propiedades de dicho evento. Ésto provocó que los científicos pudieran profundizar sobre las propiedades eléctricas de los tejidos vivos.\n\nDesde ese momento, la  **fisiología humana**  se hizo 100 veces más interesante, porque ya podemos entender gran parte del reino microscópico del bioelectromagnetismo. Se introdujeron conceptos tales como  **corrientes eléctricas en estructuras biológicas**.\n\n----------\n\n> **El elemento clave es la Membrana Celular.**\n> \n> **Es ahí donde comienza todo.**\n\n----------\n\n## 3. EL POTENCIAL DE MEMBRANA\n\nLuigi Galvani pensaba que la electricidad animal existía en un estado de  **_desequilibrio_**, y determinó la existencia de «_una máquina particular capaz de crear dicho desequilibrio_«.\n\nActualmente ya sabemos cuál es esa máquina: es la  **membrana celular**. Éste es un  **potencial eléctrico**, es energía disponible, lista para ser utilizada. Los electrolitos son las moléculas con carga eléctrica. Los iones con carga  **positiva**  son el sodio, potasio, calcio, e hidrógeno, mientras que los iones con carga  **negativa**  son el cloro, bicarbonato, y los fosfatos.\n\nEn condiciones de reposo, la célula tiene más carga negativa en su interior con respecto al exterior. En términos concretos, el interior tiene una diferencia de alrededor de -70 millivolts.\n\nLa separación de cargas se conoce como  **polarización**  y permite guardar energía. La membrana sabe muy bien cómo gestionar dicha energía.\n\nÉste es el  **potencial de membrana**, el cual es el estado normal de la célula, es un estado en desequilibrio eléctrico. EL CAMPO ELÉCTRICO CELULAR\n\nEn el artículo  **[Evidencia sobre el Biocampo](https://www.researchgate.net/publication/305469096_EVIDENCES_FOR_BIOFIELD),**  el Dr. Igor Jerman enfatiza que toda célula tiene un campo eléctrico de muy alta intensidad (107 V/m), y un bajo voltaje (-70 mV).\n\nPor otro lado, Menas Kafatos menciona **[en su artículo](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26665039/)**: «_se entiende de manera amplia que el biocampo está asociado con los campos electromagnéticos de los organismos, cada célula tiene un campo eléctrico de muy alta intensidad, y bajo voltaje;  **éste es una de las características principales de la vida**._«\n\n<center>![](https://www.humanfrequencies.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Biofield-Cell.gif)</center>\n\nLa membrana celular es tan delgada, que permite el flujo de varias  **líneas de fuerza**  a través de la membrana, ésto provoca la alta intensidad. La separación de cargas es bastante sutil, y de ahí sale el bajo voltaje, pero es suficiente para crear energía potencial.\n\nÉste escenario permite la existencia de un  **campo eléctrico**, que ejerce una fuerza sobre todas las moléculas con carga eléctrica que estén en su zona de influencia. Su movimiento no será caótico sino que es guiado por este campo.\n\nEste concepto es vital para que exista la Vida. (Syldona/Rein, y otros).\n\nAdemás, la teoría dice que si cada célula posee un campo eléctrico, entonces la suma de todos los campos de todas las células de nuestro cuerpo pueden crear un campo electromagnético humano. Solamente necesitamos comprobar su existencia y características.\n\n----------\n\n## 5. POTENCIAL DE ACCIÓN\n\nEl potencial de acción es lo que sucede cuando la  **energía potencial** (esos -70 millivolts) **se convierten en energía en movimiento**  (energía cinética).\n\nExisten proteínas que atraviesan la membrana, son las que transportan ciertos iones a través de la misma. Esto provoca que esta bomba transporte 3 sodios al interior. La  **carga eléctrica ahora está invertida**.\n\nSi la célula de la que estamos hablando es una neurona, entonces este impulso eléctrico fluye por todo el axón, creando una corriente eléctrica que alcanza el otro extremo de la neurona: la dendrita.\n\nLas dendritas se dedican a transmitir la señal, ya sea con otra neurona, o un músculo, órgano, o incluso liberando alguna hormona. Later on, he realized that the use of his bare hands could have the same effect.\n\nMesmer could have been a charlatan. I honestly can't discard that big possibility, but I want to think that there was at least some kind of effect. I mean, his definition of health is something that holistic practitioners and energy healers can agree to. However, we can't be sure. He dedicated his life more towards doing his thing than trying to find a cause that satisfied scientific principles.  **He was no scientist**, he just performed his acts in the presence of the wealthy people of Paris.\n\nHowever, in an Era in which electromagnetism was barely known and considered something external to ourselves, it's quite remarkable that he, at least, claimed the existence of animal magnetism and used magnets to heal people. Also, it's quite curious that afterward, he discarded the use of magnets and used only his bare hands, just like a modern energy healer does.\n\n### LUIGI GALVANI (1737-1798)\n\nHis experiment about the electric current that  **twitched the frog's leg**  is quite famous. Yo recomiendo el uso de terapias complementarias  **junto**  con los tratamientos convencionales. I recommend the use of complementary therapies that have been proven to be  **safe to use alongside**  conventional treatments. Particularly, I recommend Reiki therapy, as it's my area of expertise, and I have witnessed many of its positive effects for health.\n\nFinally, to explain the reason for this trend, is that a cornerstone benefit of Reiki is general well-being and improvement, relaxation, and immune system optimization, among so many others.  **This makes you more resilient and joyful, independently of which situation your life is on at this moment**. Normalmente, las manos están posicionadas sobre la cabeza y los chakras principales, pero también se colocan sobre los pies, rodillas, y otras partes del cuerpo. Mediante la experiencia, el terapeuta puede sentir cuáles son los chakras o partes corporales del cuerpo que están desequilibradas o enfermas, y varios terapeutas son <em><strong>sanadores innatos</strong></em>, lo que significa que apenas y necesitan práctica para poder despertar la intuición y comprender cuáles son las necesidades energéticas y alteraciones físicas del paciente. Simplemente saben dónde se necesita la energía.</p>\n<h2>¿CÓMO FUNCIONA EL REIKI?</h2>\n<p>Los efectos del Reiki se otorgan a través de la canalización de energía, lo que significa que dicha <strong>energía</strong> no proviene del terapeuta, sino de <strong>algún otro sitio</strong>, o sea alguna fuente externa de energía que proviene de la Tierra o del Cosmos. Esto significa que el terapeuta es un intermediario, un enlace.</p>\n<p>Hablemos de los términos <em>energía</em> y <em>algún otro sitio</em> que he utilizado en el párrafo anterior, ya que no me gusta ser inespecífico. Normalmente, cuando uno estudia Reiki, aprende que la energía es denominada <em>Energía Universal,</em> o <em>Energía Sanadora,</em> y como terapeuta, acepto y me gustan dichos términos. Pero por otro lado yo siempre intento buscar definiciones científicas y precisas, así que, o encuentro alguna definición técnica adecuada, o lo dejo pendiente hasta que la ciencia descubra algo al respecto.</p>\n<p>Los estudios científicos sugieren que la energía proviene de la Tierra misma, ya que hay vínculos entre las emisiones magnéticas de los terapeutas y las Resonancias Schumann, esto se discute extensivamente en el artículo <a href=\"https://www.humanfrequencies.com/es/frecuencias-reiki-resonancias-schumann/\">Frecuencias del Reiki</a>. El tipo de <em>energía</em> emitida en una sesión terapéutica es parcialmente magnética, y el <em>algún otro sitio</em> significa que proviene principalmente de la Tierra.</p>\n<h2>ASPECTOS FÍSICOS Y MENTALES DEL REIKI</h2>\n<p>Físicamente hablando, el Reiki tiene una fuerte relación con el <a href=\"https://www.humanfrequencies.com/es/campo-electromagnetico-humano/\">campo electromagnético humano</a>, así como con nuestros <a href=\"https://www.humanfrequencies.com/es/tag/biocampo/\">biocampos</a>. Y en el área mental, su efectividad está fuertemente conectada en nuestra <a href=\"https://www.humanfrequencies.com/es/tag/conciencia/\">consciencia</a> y convicciones.</p>\n<p>Vamos a desarrollar estos dos aspectos más ampliamente.</p>\n<h2>LA CONEXIÓN FÍSICA</h2>\n<p>Existen varios estudios cuyo objetivo fue encontrar evidencia de las emisiones magnéticas de las manos de terapeutas. Hasta ahora, la mayoría de los estudios no han tenido un diseño y protocolo adecuado, o carecían del número necesario de voluntarios para que los resultados sean estadísticamente significativos. Diane Wardell</a> y colegas, donde se encontró evidencia de que el Reiki produce <strong>cambios positivos en la producción de IgA</strong> (un tipo de inmunoglobulina, lo que implica que el Reiki promueve el sistema inmune), <strong>disminuye la tensión arterial sistólica</strong> (produciendo relajación), y <strong>aumenta la temperatura de la piel</strong> (sugiriendo una mejor comunicación eléctrica).</p>\n<h2>LA CONEXIÓN MENTAL</h2>\n<p>Si tú crees que cualquier tratamiento va a curarte, entonces seguramente dicho tratamiento tendrá más y mejores efectos en tí. No importa si estamos hablando de cirugía, medicamentos, comer sano y evitar comida basura, hacer Yoga, Reiki, tomar una pastilla de placebo, o incluso cantar a viva voz <em>Sobreviviré</em> mientras sostienes un cristal de cuarzo en la mano. La mente es el tratamiento más potente que hay, y si tú crees que el Reiki es bueno para tí, entonces sus efectos serán todavía mejores. Existe un interesante artículo en <a href=\"http://time.com/5375724/placebo-bill-health-problems/\">Time.com</a> el cual precisamente menciona la tendencia de tomar pastillas de placebo. El Dr. Mikao Usui acuñó el término Reiki y lo utilizó para describir cualquier tipo de canalización energética, y su técnica se denomina <em><strong>Usui Shiki Ryoho</strong></em>. Personalmente yo considero al Reiki como una herramienta de autoconocimiento a la vez que una técnica de sanación, ya que te permite comprender cómo procesas tus emociones y cómo tus chakras gestionan las circunstancias en tu vida, y por lo tanto te ayuda a aliviar cualquier inestabilidad que tengas.</p>\n<p>Fuera de las opiniones personales, y tomando en consideración todo lo que se ha discutido hasta ahora en este artículo, una definición adecuada del Reiki es la siguiente:</p>\n<p><em><strong>Es una técnica curativa mediante imposición de manos, que enseña cómo canalizar energía magnética (de entre otros tipos que todavía faltan por determinar) hacia el biocampo de uno mismo o del paciente. Most frequently, the hands are positioned over the head and main chakra points, along with the feet, knees and other parts of the body. With experience, the healer can feel which chakras or body parts are imbalanced or sick, and lots of therapists are <em><strong>natural born healers</strong></em>, this means that they barely need practice in order to awake their intuition and understand what are the patient’s needs and energetic and physical disorders. They just know where the energy is needed.</p>\n<h2>HOW DOES REIKI WORK?</h2>\n<p>The effects of Reiki are given through energy channeling, this means that the <em><strong>energy </strong></em>given to the patient is not coming from the healer, but from <em><strong>somewhere else</strong></em><em>,</em> from some external energy source coming from the Earth or the Cosmos. This means that the healer is just an intermediary, a link.</p>\n<p>Let’s talk about the terms <em>energy</em> and <em>somewhere else</em> used in the definition above because I don’t like to be unspecific. Normally, when you study Reiki, you learn that this energy is called <em>Universal Energy</em>, or<em>Healing Energy</em>, and, as a healer, I like and accept these terms. But I crave for precise scientific definitions, so, either I find a proper technical explanation, or leave it as pending until science catches up.</p>\n<p>Scientific studies suggest the fact that this energy is coming from the Earth itself, as there are links between the magnetic emissions of healers and the Schumann Resonances, this is extensively discussed at the <a href=\"https://www.humanfrequencies.com/reiki-frequencies-schumann-resonances/\">Reiki Frequencies</a> post. The type of <em>energy</em> emitted in a healing session is partly magnetic, and the <em>somewhere else</em> is coming mainly from the Earth.</p>\n<h2>PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ASPECTS OF REIKI</h2>\n<p>Physically speaking, Reiki has a strong relationship with the <a href=\"https://www.humanfrequencies.com/electromagnetic-human-field/\">electromagnetic human field</a>, and with our <a href=\"https://www.humanfrequencies.com/tag/biofield/\">biofields</a> as well. And mentally speaking, its effectiveness is deeply rooted in our <a href=\"https://www.humanfrequencies.com/tag/consciousness/\">consciousness</a> and beliefs.</p>\n<p>Let’s elaborate these two aspects a little bit further.</p>\n<h2>THE PHYSICAL CONNECTION</h2>\n<p>There have been several studies with the objective to find evidence of magnetic emissions from the hands of volunteers. So far, most of these studies didn’t meet optimal study designs, or were lacking enough number of subjects in order to have statistical significance. Anyway, there are studies who managed to record magnetic emissions from the palm of volunteers, these are extensively discussed at the <a href=\"https://www.humanfrequencies.com/reiki-frequencies-schumann-resonances/\">Reiki Frequencies</a> and <a href=\"https://www.humanfrequencies.com/magnetic-properties-healing-touch/\">Magnetic Properties of Healing Touch Therapy</a> posts.</p>\n<p>https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmWMYA6fCahwgCrDKVkhfBULebkqPx6uxzCxJt6rUQv7Mj/Bio%20magnetic%20emission%20from%20hand.png</p>\n<p>Source: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1353653</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Another physical aspect of the effects of Reiki was published by <a href=\"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11251731\">Dr. Diane Wardell</a> and colleagues, where she found that Reiki produced positive changes towards the <strong>production of salivary IgA</strong> (an immunoglobulin, implying that Reiki promotes the immune system), <strong>diminished systolic</strong> <strong>heart</strong> <strong>pressure</strong> (producing relaxation), and <strong>increased skin temperature</strong> (suggesting better electrical communication).</p>\n<h2>THE MENTAL CONNECTION</h2>\n<p>If you believe that any treatment is going to cure you, then this treatment will certainly have better effects on you. It doesn’t matter if we are talking about surgery, medication, eating healthy and avoiding junk food, doing Yoga, Reiki, taking a placebo pill, or even singing out loud <em>I Will Survive</em> while holding a quartz crystal in your hand. The mind is the most powerful treatment, and if you believe that Reiki is good for you, then its effects will be stronger. There is an interesting article on <a href=\"http://time.com/5375724/placebo-bill-health-problems/\">Time.com</a> that precisely mentions this trend about people taking placebo pills. Dr. Mikao Usui coined the term Reiki in order to define any type of energy channeling, and his technique is named <em><strong>Usui Shiki Ryoho</strong></em>. Personally, I see Reiki as a self-knowledge tool as much as a healing technique, because it helps you learn how you process your emotions and how your chakras deal with whatever happens in your life, and it also aids you into fixing any imbalance.</p>\n<p>But, personal opinions aside, and taking into consideration everything that has been discussed in this article, an adequate definition of Reiki is the following:</p>\n<p><em><strong>A hands-on healing technique that teaches how to channel magnetic energy (among other energy types yet to be established) towards the biofield of oneself or a patient. This optimizes and balances said biofield, as well as the chakra and auric systems, which ultimately results in an improvement of health and well-being.</strong></em></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><strong>SIDE NOTE –</strong> When I say that this is an adequate definition, I mean it because it’s based on the current knowledge available, so this definition will have to change when new evidence arises, and I will update it, even if I have to discredit anything that I have written before.
