And credit cards?\n\nWith no further ado, Ray Blanco:\n\nWhen bitcoin debuted a few years ago, it seemed little more than a novelty for cryptocurrency enthusiasts.\n\nThe value of a bitcoin was a small fraction of a cent in value. Today, one bitcoin is worth more than $5,600.\n\nCompeting currencies have also blasted off. One popular alternative, ethereum, is up over 3,000% year to date.\n\nThere’s no question that the cryptocurrency idea has spread — and is still spreading.\n\nWhat accounts for its meteoric rise?\n\nBitcoin drew attention as a way to do this thing called “money” in a way that didn’t involve central bankers or even physical access to precious metals like gold.\n\nBack when I first learned about bitcoin, it was still very cheap. And you could go out and grab as much as you liked — if you were willing to do the work.\n\nRegular money like dollars and euros is created out of “thin air,” so to speak. The central banks do this, and it’s unpredictable when or how much. In the old days, money creation was largely a matter of printing more bills or minting more coins. Today, central banks do most of this money creation digitally.\n\nThere is no central anything, however, with bitcoin. The system is distributed and transparent. And there is no unpredictability with creating new units of value, either.\n\nThat’s one of the selling factors for cryptocurrencies. They are inherently better stores of value than the depreciating currencies we’re used to using.\n\nBut the underlying technology behind the cryptocurrency trend is the real enabler… and that’s going to change everything.\n\nI’m talking about blockchain technology.\n\nBlockchain might not just be the future of money. It could revolutionize everything. It has the potential to disrupt almost every industry.\nBlockchain might not just be the future of money. It could revolutionize everything. It has the potential to disrupt almost every industry.\n\nWhile I expect many of today’s cryptocurrencies to fail, I also believe blockchain technology has a bright future.\n\nThe impact on our lives could one day rival the impact the internet has made over the past 20 years. That potential of cryptocurrencies and blockchain hasn’t been lost on buyers of bitcoin.\n\nA World Economic Forum report predicts that 10% of GDP will be stored on the blockchain by 2025.\n\nGlobal GDP is around $78 trillion. So we’re talking about a massive role for this technology.\n\nWhy is blockchain technology so disruptive?\n\nIt could eliminate the need for the “middleman” with most transactions.\n\nBlockchain-based systems can be used to transparently account for and immutably record just about any transaction.\n\nFor example, it could allow for direct, peer-to-peer transactions that bypass the need for banks or credit card companies. It can also fundamentally transform the financial services industry and the way you buy stocks or bonds. You wouldn’t need an intermediary like you do today. It could all be done directly on a peer-to-peer basis.\n\nIn addition, blockchain can store public records, real estate titles, contracts, patents and much more.\n\nThere will certainly be bumps in the road for this incredible new technology. It’s like the Wild West right now, and a lot of frauds are piling onto the bandwagon while the getting is good.\n\nBut that doesn’t mean the future isn’t blindingly bright for the blockchain. [Kanzul Ummal, Volume 7, hadith 18897)\n\nThe transitions of prayer times actually coincide with the change in energy of the universe which may be measured and felt through changes in its colours. The following are several findings from academics in their respective fields (eg. health, psychology and others).\n\n*THE SECRETS BEHIND PRAYING ON TIME*\n\n1.) *FAJR*\n\nThose who are still deep asleep during Fajr will face issues in provision and communication, for the thyroid is unable to absorb the blue energy of the universe. \n\nThe universe is in the blue spectrum which is compatible with the frequency of the thyroid gland. In Physiology, the thyroid has control over the body’s metabolic system. The color blue is also tied to provision (rizq) and communication methods. During the Fajr athan, the energy of the universe is at its optimum. This energy is then absorbed by our bodies especially when performing ruku’ and sujood.\n\n2.) *DHUHR*\n\nThose who frequently miss Dhuhr prayer will face digestion and mood problems.\n\nThe universe turns yellow, which influences the stomach and the entire digestive system.       "body": "My husband has a way of settling issues or quarrels among our children which works perfectly and amazes me. Well, I'm blessed to be married to a very wise man shaa.\nLet me share some of his tips and hope that it will help you.\n\nMy children especially the two youngest , always fight over things like pencils, crayons, cups , plates , teddy bear etc. I thought the solution was to buy for everyone and that was what I did. I felt that if everyone had their own then I wont hear struggle again or that disturbing cry that children do when they are fighting for something. But to my amazement and bewilderment, the fighting continued and infact escalated as one person will misplace his red pencil and will cry for the other person's yellow pencil. I was practising law in the house; being solicitor and judge at the same time. Sometimes it can be so depressing.\nOne day my husband just got up and announced;  'from now going forward, all the pencils, erasers, crayons, teddy bears, cups plates and toys in this house belong to me, and whoever wants to use it should take permission from me period'. \nHe collected all the pencils and other stuff and kept in one drawer. My dear friends, now there is great peace in my house; no more shouting, no more struggle, what I hear often is 'Oh, pls daddy may I borrow your pencil, or may I borrow your cup etc. Now that they all surrendered the whole stuff to Daddy, they are learning how to co-operate better, since no one own the stuff personally, they are no more quarrelling over it.\n\nWhen men step in, I tell you, there is always a big difference especially men who are godly. \nMen are endowed with the power and authority to rule in their homes. Unfortunately, these days you see them trying to rule the States and nations without having rule over their homes. \nIt is said that charity begins at home, and again one of the criteria for becoming a good leader is having a good rule over one's family first before trying to rule over other people.\n\nI do not think anytime a man spends with his children is ever in vain. I know a man who spends two hours everyday with his children looking into their school work and stuff, even if a governor sends for him, he will always say, 'I will be there when I'm done with my children' and his children end up taking all the academic awards in their school till date. It's not all about chasing money, sending them to the best schools possible but it's about passing on priceless values to them.\n\nThe family is one of the most important gift God gave to humanity and great families are like refreshing cold water on a thirsty soul. \n\nI call on our men to stand up and step in. The women, are tired of handling the children alone, settling fights, doing homeworks, cooking, washing up, leading devotions etc.\n\nThey want you to comeback home and lead, for they do not know the way like you do.\n\nRemember that the instruction on how to run this home successfuly was handed over to you directly from The Almighty. We, the women are on our knees in complete surrender and total submissionion, pls our men leave late night meetings, long office hours, other overstretched religious programmes and attend to the religious duties in your house. Without you, Sirs we are incomplete.\nSTEP IN PLS.",

      "body": "*WESTERN EDUCATION \"OBSESSION\"!!!*\n#EFFECTS\n1) As soon as a child becomes a year old, we\nstart buying toys for him or instilling the love of\npictorial objects or cartoons into him...\n\n2) The mother begins to teach him/her baby that: A is for Apple and B is for Ball, but doesn't teach her\nbaby that A is for Allah and B is for Bismillah continuously.\n\n2)At the age of two or three, we take him into a\nday-care centre where his Western education\njourney begins.\n\n3) At the age of 3, s/he is in nursery 1 or KG 1.\nChildren ordinarily don't like going to schools 'cos\nthey are not used to it. They prefer the company\nof Mummy at home. That’s why they all cry when going to school.\n\n4) The child begins to observe:\n\n#Everyday my mummy prepares me for school \n\n#Under the sun or in the rain\n\n#I have a unique uniform for school\n\n#With time, the kid begins to love \"schooling\" because it looks to him like the utmost reason of\nexistence.\n\n-5) At the age of 5, he is in Primary one:\n\n#Everyday, the parents wakes him up for school\nbut not for fajr\n\n#He is quickly bathed on school days but not during\nweekends\n\n#His hair is combed and his nails trimmed so that he won't be beaten in school for dirtiness\n\n#Everyday his assignments are checked by his parents but no one bothers about his Islamiyyah assignments\n\n#His school fees are paid on time bt no one\ncares about his Islamiyyah dues.\n\n#The father takes him to school early \"before\"\nassembly but the father doesn't take him to Juma'ah early \"before\" the Khutbah.\n\n#The child begins to reason about all these. So he becomes more inclined to school than Islamiyyah!\n\n6) When exams are approaching, the parents be like:\n\n\"Hey, no sleeping tonight, you gotta read, you must\ncome first in class\"\n\n#So the child begins to burn the night candles but no one orders him to wake up for tahajjud, \"...he should be tired. After all, he READ overnight...!!!\"\n\n##His parents be like:\n\n\"I will buy WHATEVER you want for you if you come out with flying colours\"\n\nBut, alas!!! no one makes such promises concerning his Islamiyyah exams.\n\n##During exam periods, parents be like:\nHey, no more TV until you finish your exams, no more visiting of friends, no more football bla bla bla.\n\n###So the child begins to see exam periods as a\nkinda mini judgement day!\n.\nThis is how a child's impression about Western\neducation is \"conditioned\" to look so great to him as if its the first purpose of creation!\n\n#LONG TERM EFFECTs...\nOn the long run, the child begins to think wild,\nread wide about life and worldly things, but\nhardly thinks about the hereafter.\n\n1) He doesn't cry when going to school anymore 'cos he is used to staying away from home.\nBecause of this, he wants a boarding school or he\nwants admission into a uni that's far away from\nhome! (Especially our Muslim girls)!!\n\n2) They don't wanna be under mum's control\nanymore. They wanna become their own \"boss\"!\n\n3) When a teenager gets an admission into any\ninstitution, he goes crazy, jubilating, and celebrating but when he is given an admission into an Halqah (study circle), he doesn't even\nwear a smile on his face!\n\n3) They now have big dreams, career obsession, \"I wanna become a Professor by all means\", but the young lad doesn't care about becoming a scholar of the Deen!\nAnd the parents too be like:\n'If u come out wit first class, I will send you to\n\"America\" for your Masters'...\n\n4) The child's obsession about western education\nincreases the more!\nSo s/he wants to earn dat first class by all means,\neven by offering herself to the lecturer or sorting\nhis lecturer!\n\n4) That's why you see that when Undergraduates\nfinally graduate from the University after their final\nexams, they go crazy, jubilating, staining their\nshirts wit markers, dancing, jumping, partying as if they have won a ticket to Jannah, you won't blame them, that's  because western education has been made to look like a TROPHY to them!\n\n5) They are graduates and their spoken English is\nmindblowing but they can't recite Suratul Faatihah with Tajweed!\n\n6) They contest and compete for SUG presidents, class monitors, school association Presidents. But when it comes to Sallah, they go and stay at the last line!\n\n7) When its time for NYSC, the Muslim girls won't hesitate to wear bum-shots and t-shirts, they \"happily\" run, jog and do exercises with men,\ndance and partake in MissNYSC because they don't give a damn what the religion says about all these because they already believe \"anything\" is worth sacrificing for education to prevail.\n\n##Because education has been made to look like a\ncompetition while religion has been made to\nlook like an \"option\"!\n.\n#PROBLEMS...\n\n1) This obsession, makes our women refuse to\nget married until they have bagged degrees and\nmasters!\n\n2) It makes d men lazy to prepare for marriage\nuntil they have gotten a well paying job, a car, a\nhouse and a professorship.\n\n3) It makes our women quote western \"proverbs\"\noften rather than quoting Ahaadith.\n\n4) Our children love soccer, artistes and\ncelebrities but they can't mention 10 Companions of the Prophet \n\n5) Our children now have a whole room full of\nnovels, western books, encyclopedias and the\nlikes but the only islamic book they have at home is\nthe Quran!\n\n6) Our kids now think, being an \"elite\" is the\nultimate success while those \"Imams\" are\nilliterates who are losers in this world!\n\n7) When that student finally gets a job, he becomes \"obsessed\" with it too at the detriment\nof his Deen.\n\n8) He goes to work everyday including sundays\n\n9) He is always on business trips\n\n10) He leaves home for work before his kids wake\nup and he goes back home late when his kids\nare already asleep.\n\n11) During Subhi, he is on his way speeding to\nwork, during Dhuhr, he is busy wit office duty,\nduring Asr he is in a board meeting, during\nmaghrib he is just closing for d day, during Isha,\nhe is stuck in the traffic jam, when he gets home\nhe combines all his Salawaat \"if\" he has the\nstrength!\n\nIn summary, this is the kind of AQEEDAH that\nour obsession for western education has instilled\nin us, if not for the timely guidance that Alllah\nhas bestowed on us, how many are people out\nthere who are still wallowing in this pool of ignorance thinking dey are d successful ones?\nAm not saying we shouldn't go to sch, surely\nislam encourages education but not to the\nextreme or at d detriment of Deen! \n\nSuggest the possible solution yourselves as two good heads are better than one!\n\nMay Allah forgive and guide us, amen!",

This makes\nchild bearing and rearing less cumbersome if not totally without\ntears. The converience which inoculation enables parents to enjoy\nis almost incalculable.\nVaccinated children grow up into healthy adults. Their\ngrowth is not impaired or stunted by measles or any of those\ndebilitating diseases. are capable of impairing the mental faculties\nof children. Immunization thwarts all diseases that can stunt the\nphysical and mental growth of children.\nAnother significance of immunization is that it gives the\nsociety the assurance that its young ones will soon grow up to\nreplenish the Labour force which old age and retirement of adult\nperson deplete. A society whose young population is seriously\nthreatened by widespread and unchecked killer disease is\ndoomed for so many reasons.\nMy locality of Yola which is trying to recover from the\nlosses of virile men and women during the insurgency now knows\nthe advantage of inoculations against all killerdisease too well.\nIn conclusion, immunization programme, which ourstate\nministry of health has been emphasizing has tremendously saved\nus from huge sums of money spent on herbalist, sacrifices and\nfruitless hunting for so•called witches that are allegedly behind all\ninfantdeaths.",
