| body | The blockchain revolution is here to stay and you want as much of your life to enter it as possible. This includes your friends. Right? I suspect that most of you will agreed with the previous statement. I mean, who wouldn’t want to help his friends achieve financial independence, travel around the world, not worry about capital controls, drive fast cars..etc? Well, it is not as simple. The videos below are offering some of my reflections on this issue. | body | I think ripple will be a very important "lesson" in the future. If Ripple takes over bitcoin in popularity, then we will understand that our wish to be free is just talk. It will mean that the wish for freedom is weaker than the desire to be free of responsibilities. Weaker than the desire to make a quick profit in short-term pleasure followed by a long-term pain. If we keep on gravitating towards centralized and oppressive systems, then perhaps this is who we are. The blockchain does not allow us to blame anyone for choosing the complex type of slavery Ripple could impose on us in the future. No one is forcing us to favour ripple. We all do this. I would have some limitation in life and would say something like "Only if I didn't have that limitation, I wold do *******". Then a magical being come around says "It is gone! Go do the *******". Then i say "Well.....it is a full moon and I don't like the way the ****** looks on moon light. I will wait for the moon to change and then I will do it. ". Then there is more and more excuses and I fear that this is what most of us will do with this new new kind of freedom and responsibility. |

| body | I fully agree will the statement that crypto will do a lot less corrupting than teaching young people some very valuable lessons about life. Money, economy, politics, social dynamics, and most importantly, HUMAN NATURE. Now we have a chance to see what we are really about. There is no more a central authority to blame for how we behave on the blockchain. It is up to us now. If we end up turning this blockchain CHANCE into nothing but another oppressive system, then ....well, perhaps then this is what we really want and this is what we are about. So, lets see. |

| body | The blockchain revolution has started, but we might be a bit too idealistic on how everything will work out at the “end”. I don’t think it is a fight to the death between centralized and decentralized systems. It is about shifting the balance and each sphere of life will have a different shifting. The most important aspect of this revolution is that we now have a choice, and in the future this choice will be very diverse. It is very probable that we will have almost a completely decentralized world, but I think it is too soon to call on a time table. I think the centralized systems have their own evolving to do and they might cook up something that will be very attractive to the “relaxed” portion of the population. Governments and large corporations will need to give up on the old style of control and look at what is left that is of value to people. Basically, they need to look at their fundamental usefulness to people and channel it through the blockchain technology. This will trigger a competition with the private sector, which I think is a good thing. What about taxes? If there are any services left for the government to provide for the people, then how are taxes going to be determined? Public keys are hard to link to legal names. Plus there are so many ways to cover your trucks. It is a messy game. So, I think eventually the Governments will create a way of “encouraging” the cryptocurrencies to be taxable. This sounds like a taboo, but lets not forget that in a way the Government still got us by the balls on many day to day activities. You cannot move all your finances on the blockchain today. This will probably hold for the next 10 years. We are still attached to the physical world, and on that dimension, the centralized systems still rule. This may change one day, but until then, don’t count out the old system. I suspect that initially blockchains that are tax-friendly, will receive deeper adoption from the general population. Again, this depends on which country we are talking about. This phenomena will vary significantly from country to country. The future of centralized and decentralized will be nothing like what we imagine it today. This however, does not mean we should stop imagining and thinking of the future. |

The blockchain allows for any idea to grow or shrink depending on its merits. There is no such thing as taboo idea on the blockchain. There is no central authority to devalue it and set the tone for the masses to devalue it too. If it is the truth , it is the truth. We are just starting my friend ;-) Enjoy the ride! |

| body | Before I begin my topic, I would like to make it clear that I am simply brainstorming some ideas here. I am just thinking out-loud in a written form. I have been watching this crypto world unraveling almost with the speed of light, and I think most people are still underestimating how this technology will profoundly change our world. Not just on a technological level, but also on the social, political and economical aspects of our lives. Years ago, I made an analogy to a good friend of mine, regarding the changes the internet was bringing to our world. I saw it as people standing on the shore of a river, which is easy to cross, but the water is starting to flow faster and faster. There will be a point in the near future when it will take an enormous effort and risk to cross it. Which side on the river one ends up on, will determine one’s life. So, what is really happening outside the technology. Lets talk about the human factor and larger dynamics that are the real driving force behind everything. The technology is just the tool. What is this technology really trying to solve? I think almost every generation, finds a way to rebel against the game “imposed” on them by the previous generation. Previous generations have provided us with opportunities to participate in a “good” game that they have built. But lets me honest. The game can be very rigged, depending on how deep one wishes and can look into. This is very easy to spot when one is forced to participate in a rigged game, because of treat of violence. However, here in the West, this is no so obvious. The treat of violence is very distant and conditional. There are too many real and fake benefits that the game provides, and it is hard for the new generation to commit to rejecting its and building a new one. The internet changed this, because it didn’t take much of a commitment to participate in a new game. It was easy to stay with one foot in the old game and pay the bills, and another in the internet world to have fun. However, gradually the internet community started to create opportunities to shift the weight from one foot into the other gradually. No burning of bridges was required. The blockchain revolution is a continuation of the internet revolution, but on a much higher intensity and scope. So, why do new generations feel like the game is rigged by the older generations? I suspect that this is not really what older generations intended when they were unknowingly designing/building it. Their game evolved with their times and environment. The younger generation did not experience many of the signals that the environment was generating at the time of the game creation. All we can do today is read about those times. This is not the same as living the times. This does not explain the end result fully. There is another element which is the bigger reason the old game becomes rigged for the next generations. Lets not forget that a game is there to facilitate competition. All players look for strategies on how to win the game following the rules. As strategies evolve and grow, they create an environment where power concentrates into few. These few then start to build protection walls and even have a say in rewriting the rules of the game. Eventually, the game solidifies and anyone from the new generation is going to have a hard time entering. There are all sorts of grey area social rituals, licensing, special privileges, commissions, and alliances that puts the new member into a jungle. That jungle is also filled with fog. So, in a way the older generation did not really mean to bar the new generation from entering the structure, but this is the result anyway. Or maybe they did. Maybe, they are also carrying on a lesson from their youth. I have watched how no one pays attention to older people once they have no more a voice. Maybe, this is what they are trying to avoid. They built an insurance policy for their older years. However, this is also a recipe for a slavery for the new generation. So, what are we really doing with the blockchain? Well, we are building a game which is made up of rules that are very difficult to understand by the older generation. The difficulty does not just come from the fact that they don’t feel the world/environment as we do. It comes from the fact that they don’t need to bother to understand it. If the old game works well for them, why would they bother to learn a new one. They just call the new game “silly” and get ready for their next golf game. Now, let me emphasize here on something very important. The majority of the people from the older generation, are also outside (for the most part) of the old game. They did not play it well or they did not get a good entry. However, they are unconsciously supporting the old game, so don’t expect much support from them either. They will also label the new game “silly”. They are still hoping to finally start getting the benefits from the game of their generation. I suspect these times will never come, but this is another topic. I have to also admit that things are not as clear cut as I am defining them here. For example, there are good developers in the blockchain community who are from the older generation. I don’t want readers to interpret my post as a story about the war between different generations. I am not for a society in which the new generation rips down everything the old generation built. Some of the rules from the old game are there for a good reason. A reason that has nothing to do with the older generation, but instead it reflects an accumulated experience through many generations. A wisdom which is hard to pin down by reason. So, we are here and we are building our game. I personally do not think we can avoid building a structure that will not be oppressive in some ways to the ones who enter the game later. The fact that the main theme of this game is decentralization, is giving me some hope. However, from studying history and human nature, I have come to the conclusion that we are incapable of building any other type of game. Perhaps, this is the main point of a game, as far as we define it. To find a standard by which we can compete, and if there is a competing element, then there will be winners. No way to avoid this. However, we can try to build a game that makes smaller winners, but more of them. The blockchain idea, I think has a chance of doing it the right way. This is just the beginning. |

| body | Absolutely, when we assign a meaning to something, we believe that it will cause or act in a certain way on us, so changing the meaning or belief changes everything. Believing something means good will allow us to really accept that thing instead of trying to shut it out because it's "bad" Thanks for the tip on the author, he seems up my alley. I read some William Walker Atkinson back in the day and he seems similar. |

| body | I got in recently in the world of blockchain, and this is what I have been telling my friends who also are interested in this new revolution. Sure, right now, we can make some profits by trading, but this only focuses on the price of coins. There is a much bigger opportunity here. We as witnessing the creation of probably the most sophisticated social, economical and political system EVER. The system is already complex but try complaining to the people who will start entering it few years from now. They will claim that we got it easy, because the system was still relatively simple to comprehend. They would not be wrong. This system will exponentially grow in size and complexity. You think reading a white paper now is hard? Try in 5 years ;-) We need to start imposing some control over the short-term desire for rewards, and dedicate some time to actually getting the philosophy of each coin. The more time passes, the more noise will enter the sphere in the form of information. The longer one waits, the more reading and filtering one has to do in order to isolate the philosophy/principles of a coin. Believe me, I am no saint. Every day I say to myself "I should read the white paper I downloaded last night...." and then my twitter says "buy ***! It is about to shoot!!!". Then the primal in me takes over and I see nothing but numbers, instead of the future. If we fail to comprehend the philosophy of crypto, our early entry advantage will begin gradually to disappear. This reminds me of an old story. I had an early entry on the internet back in 1994. I remember that most people didn't know how to use it and i was a big user. But never really cared to learn the technology. Then it wasn't long before two of my friends invited me to do my first geopages site using html. I was like "oh no! I hear this html is really hard. I will stick to clicking on things in my Netscape". So, I never jumped on that. Then around 2002 I got on the web development train. It was already too full! I felt I was overwhelmed. Too many things to learn too quickly. I am not saying that it was impossible for me to become profitable in the web development business in 2002, but it was 10 times harder than it would have been 7 years earlier. So, get on these white paper and start thinking. The market will stabilize in 2 years and these big profits will be gone. By that time the action will be in knowing and feeling the system. Now, I got to go read my white paper, but before that, let me check twitter for some trading tips ;-) |

| body | I would claim that most teachers today are on amateur level. However, the teaching area is not the only industry where it is hard to find a strong thought. I think teaching today and in the future should be about fundamentals. The world is becoming so diverse. There is just too much information and specifics generated every single day, for a teacher to convey to a child. Therefore, a good education will consist in teaching the principles of thought. Most kids are not thought about thought. Once a child has learned to see the world in principles and patterns, it will be able to ignore all the noise and focus on the specifics that really matter. However, it takes about 1-2 generations to introduce a new category of teachers. I don't think teachers will rewire their brains for that kind of relationship towards knowledge. There has to be some sort of an incentive (pain/pleasure) that will get the kids of today to gravitate towards the new way of thinking, and maybe some of them will become teachers in the future. There is a possible shortcut, I have to admit. Who said that education has to remain in the schools? So, perhaps a new type of educating might take place from another source which will attract kids. This will have its own issues, for new sources are untested. In old traditions and institutions, there is a hidden wisdom and benefits, that are hard to see. Even if the tradition or institution is seen as oppressive. Removing it is desirable, but at the same time we remove some hidden benefits. This is why using reason for everything can be tricky. However, I have to say that reason will be enough to determine if a teacher is hurting a child's entry into the world of knowledge. I have used the Socratic method not just on teachers, but also on other professionals. Here is the fun part. By the 3rd questions, you sense that they know what is happening and they look for way out. So, this shows me that they are aware of their amateurish relationship to their profession. Hence, the insecurity. Watch for that moment next time. You can sense it or even see it in their eyes. So, before you start walking around like Socrates and asking fundamental questions to a teacher, keep this in mind ;-) . They might outright call you rude. |

| body | I enjoyed reading this post because I have experienced the change in attitude towards cold myself. It was a friend of mine who introduced me to this topic and the new knowledge completely changed the "MEANING" of cold for me. The term "meaning" is very important here and I have used this little mind "trick" when I want to dedicate to something. I would recommend reading William James's books on truth and meaning. It will open your mind on how we related to these two terms. Once I dived into the topic of cold, the meaning of cold changed for me. If the meaning changes, the experiences changes too. The previously unpleasant experience of staying in the cold, became pleasant, because it had a different meaning/utility. You don't believe me? Think of something that is painful and unpleasant to others, but you do it effortlessly. This is because it has a different meaning for you, than it does for them. Read on the benefits cold brings to the body and then when you do what the writer of this article suggests, you will have a different view on why you are doing what you are doing. This is how things get easy to do. They have a stronger meaning for you. Start with little steps. Leave the house little underdressed and experience some cold. When the mild unpleasant feeling hits you, you will ask yourself "Why am I doing this?! ". Well, if you have read on how cold is beneficial for you, you will have a good answer. If you have a good answer, guess what? You will feel less cold. Trust me. This has worked for me and not just for my relationship to cold. Play a bit with this idea. |
