| title | GPU prices are totally insane right now. |
| body | A week ago you could get some decent prices for mid level cards like the RX 570 4gb or 1060 6gb. Now those cards have gone through the roof. Miners like myself are buying up cards like crazy in anticipation of increasing Crypto prices this year. AMD and Nvidia cannot keep up. Nor do they want to. They don't want the market to be flooded with used cards if crypto falls dramatically. They are selling out everything they produce. Last week the price for an MSI RX 570 4gb card was around $249-$270 at Newegg and Microcenter. You cannot find them at retailers and if you do any 570 is $500 plus. The prices on Ebay are now less than the retailers for these cards. Even with the 10% taken by Ebay and free shipping. In my opinion, over the next month it will only get worse. You can't find Vegas and if you want a Vega you can get one 3rd party for $1500. Microcenter is now selling 1080 Ti's for $1500 , as well. There may be some relief if AMD and Nvidia launch the rumored mining cards, but don't be surprised if they sell out instantly. People are insane for mining right now. They see huge growth and so do I. The market is ripe for a new player to manufacture GPUs but as I understand it Nvidia and AMD hold all the patents. Could a new company emerge? Only time will tell. Maybe Asics will be developed for some of these currencies, but until then the GPU drought of 2018 will continue. Good luck out there if you find any deals, take advantage of them. My guess is summer time before we see some relief. |

"body": "A week ago you could get some decent prices for mid level cards like the RX 570 4gb or 1060 6gb. Now those cards have gone through the roof. Miners like myself are buying up cards like crazy in anticipation of increasing Crypto prices this year. \n AMD and Nvidia cannot keep up. Nor do they want to. They don't want the market to be flooded with used cards if crypto falls dramatically. They are selling out everything they produce.\n Last week the price for an MSI RX 570 4gb card was around $249-$270 at Newegg and Microcenter. You cannot find them at retailers and if you do any 570 is $500 plus. The prices on Ebay are now less than the retailers for these cards. Even with the 10% taken by Ebay and free shipping. \n In my opinion, over the next month it will only get worse. You can't find Vegas and if you want a Vega you can get one 3rd party for $1500. Microcenter is now selling 1080 Ti's for $1500 , as well. \n There may be some relief if AMD and Nvidia launch the rumored mining cards, but don't be surprised if they sell out instantly. People are insane for mining right now. They see huge growth and so do I. The market is ripe for a new player to manufacture GPUs but as I understand it Nvidia and AMD hold all the patents. I bought Paragon coin , but have no idea if I wasted money or not. New ICOs popping up everyday. The one I think is the most ridiculous is "Cream coin" the one sponsored by Ghost Faced Killah. It will always be worth $1, so why would anyone invest in that? Makes no sense but I am sure people bought it, because it was an ICO. |

| title | Could Bytecoin make a comeback in 2018? |
| body | The success of Monero and now Electroneum as CryptoNight algorithm currencies has recently overshadowed the original Cryptonight coin BCN or Bytecoin. They had a rocky start and there was some controversy that basically ended the currency. Recently, there have been posts of updates on their site, https://bytecoin.org/ that indicate some new development and a new road map. A release of a new webwallet (which I never trust and highly recommend not using ever for large quantities) and a coming soon mobile wallet. This has seemingly gone under the radar and there have not been many announcements, I have seen. I only read one article about this, just recently. Do they want to keep it low key? Or are they looking for word of mouth, like what I am providing right now? Not sure what will happen with this currency and I am still mining Monero, Aeon, Ethereum and Decred but I may mine some BCN for a week or two just in case this explodes. Let me know what you think, whether you are a miner or investor. I would love to hear your thoughts. I hear in my mining forums it is 80% pre-mined and a scam but would love to hear opposing arguments. |

They had a rocky start and there was some controversy that basically ended the currency. Recently, there have been posts of updates on their site, https://bytecoin.org/ that indicate some new development and a new road map.\n\nA release of a new webwallet (which I never trust and highly recommend not using ever for large quantities) and a coming soon mobile wallet.\n\n\n\nThis has seemingly gone under the radar and there have not been many announcements, I have seen. I only read one article about this, just recently. Do they want to keep it low key? Or are they looking for word of mouth, like what I am providing right now?\n\nNot sure what will happen with this currency and I am still mining Monero, Aeon, Ethereum and Decred but I may mine some BCN for a week or two just in case this explodes.\n\nLet me know what you think, whether you are a miner or investor. I would love to hear your thoughts. I hear in my mining forums it is 80% pre-mined and a scam but would love to hear opposing arguments.",

| body | I try to describe Bitcoin to people as the Myspace of Crypto all the time. So glad you feel the same. I am mining Monero, Aeon, Ethereum and Decred at the moment. I see potential in all, also Electroneum and Tron could be players. I have also heard rumors of Bytecoin coming back. Which appear to be true, if they can get the trust back of the community they could be an interesting investment this year. I think this is the year for Ethereum, though. It has too many possibilities in real world applications to fail. Once more games (Crypto Kitties- and yes I own some)and programs for business are available using the blockchain. I predict an enormous leap in value. Bitcoin gold got off to a rocky start but it has the Bitcoin name in it so it could go far. Bitcoin cash will overtake Bitcoin in value in the next few years. Great stuff and keep it up. |

| title | Vega Mining Rig Issues (Loss of mind possible in days or hours)- Reinstall Windows if this happens to you. |
| body | I have 3 Vega 56 cards. One MSI and two Sapphire reference cards. I was running them in my gaming PC and everything was working ok. Had two attached to the Motherboard and one on a riser out of the tower, with the side open. They were running fine. Hashing 5700 H/s on Cryptonight with no issues of instability. I built a rig for these cards so I could get my gaming PC back and have had crazy instability. I am not sure if it has to do with the PCie SSD that I am using in the M2 slot, or that I am using 3 risers now but it keeps crashing. Anyone have any experience with instability and no real solutions to be found? I feel like I have tried everything. I have use Wattman, use OverdriveNtool without wattman but nothing seems to be stable. I just removed that SSD and installed a new version of Windows on a Samsung EVO SSD. Hopefully this works. (Will update later) Maybe windows install was corrupted on the other hard drive. Also, I do not think it has to do with temps, since I have a giant box fan blowing on the cards and have the fans at 3000 or max at times. Hardware below: Z170-AR motherboard https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/Z170-AR/ Corsair AW1200i Power Supply http://www.corsair.com/en-us/ax1200i-digital-atx-power-supply-1200-watt-80-plus-platinum-certified-fully-modular-psu 8 GB of Ram A PCie wireless card Risers HDMI dongle I have been using Hella's guide on Reddit and Circusdad's guide but nothing is working. I went back to original BIOS, ran DDU a million times it seems but I keep having issues. (Also done the disable driver thing, and using Teamviewer) Do I need to change the PCie lane settings to Gen 1 or Gen 2? Any ideas are appreciated. Any opinions on what it could be? The miner runs for a while an then crashes randomly. Then I see no hashes to the pool and lose my mind. Please help me get my sanity back. https://www.reddit.com/r/MoneroMining/comments/74hjqn/monero_and_vega_the_definitive_guide/ http://vega.miningguides.com/ Btw these above guides are great. Please feel free to share your own experiences and maybe we can help each other. |
