The security, privacy advantages and impressive 10k tx/s offered by the KMD platform went largely unnoticed by the market. However, Komodo wasn’t entirely ignored. Within the community and discussions present on the KMD platform were a handful of capable individuals that eventually conceptualized a new and better cryptocurrency, ARRR.\n\nFundamental\nARRR, or also known as Pirate, is an independent blockchain built as an asset chain to the KMD platform. Designed as a combination of ZEC and XMR, Pirate looks to improve the privacy and security features of XMR whilst fixing the fungibility problem of ZEC through the enforcement of forced shield-transactions.\n\n\nThe issue is that transactions from shielded balances to transparent balances are often the cause of decreased fungibility, as it is possible to identify coin mixing patterns. Concerns are also had about coins being “tainted” by affiliations to past transactions. The solution is to completely prevent this from happening.\n\n\nThis means that Pirate is a forced shield-transactions (z-transactions) only blockchain, making transparent transactions impossible on the Pirate blockchain. The ultimate objective of the project is to be the next-gen privacy cryptocurrency with completely anonymous transactions, except for mining rewards and notary node logs.\n\n\nAs an asset chain of the KMD ecosystem, Pirate also inherits much of Komodo’s features such as Zero Knowledge Privacy and delayed Proof-of-Work (dPoW). Also included, is the ability to backup asset chain records into the Komodo main chain and record them on as a hash on Bitcoin. This effectively enables the asset chain’s records to be then included in the backup that is pushed into the protective hash rate of the main Proof-of-Work (PoW) blockchain, Bitcoin.\n\n\nThis is made possible due to KMD being a fork of ZEC, which was a fork of BTC. In this way, the asset chain records can be protected by the largest hash-rate available on one blockchain. To compromise an asset chain that is employing Komodo’s dPoW protocol, the attacker would have to destroy all existing copies of the asset chain, all copies of the KMD main chain, and the accompanying PoW network (Bitcoin) into which the dPoW backups are inserted.\n\n\nA visualized schematic of dPoW protocol.\n\n\nKomodo’s security service is performed by notary nodes, chosen through a stake-weighted vote. These notary nodes have the option to switch notarization to another PoW network besides BTC if needed. For an example, in the event where worldwide miners’ hashing power changes to that of another PoW network, or the cost of notarization becomes unsustainable.\nIn addition, since KMD derive from ZEC and BTC, all features included in the Bitcoin protocol and Zcash parameters are also available on ARRR. This includes Zk-SNARKS, the top-tier standard for blockchain privacy at this time.\n\n\nEven for individuals with the utmost priority for privacy will require the need for receipts to verify transactions, therefore Pirate will utilize view keys for this purpose. With view keys, one can prove they paid a certain amount of coins to a certain address. A node processing an incoming viewing key for a z-address can view all past transactions received by that address, as well as all future transactions sent to it. The viewing party cannot spend any funds from the address.\n\nCryptocurrency\nAccording to information included in the Pirate whitepaper, current block-time is 60 seconds, using the Equihash Proof-of-Work mining algorithm. The maximum supply is approximately 200 million ARRR, with a speed of 6-26 TPS and a transaction fee of 0.0001 ARRR. \n\n\n\nThe emission schedule for ARRR coin.\n\n\nIncluded is also an emission schedule of the Pirate cryptocurrency, halving in block rewards every 388885 blocks, equating to an estimated 270 days per reward period.\n\nDevelopment\nThough early in its infancy, the Pirate team has been able to facilitate the use of z-address deposits and withdrawals with the exchange DigitalPrice.io and successfully launched coin trading at the end of October 2018. In an ideal world, those platforms would enable the sharing of content between users without arbitrarily imposed censorship laws that are often based on the private interests of corporations and malicious government regimes.\n\nHowever, as is well known by now, the world's biggest content-sharing platforms are rife with corruption and censorship tactics. Novusphere is a blockchain-based content sharing architecture that allows users to create unstoppable and censorship-resistant communities far from the reach of centralizing forces. Using Novusphere, content-sharing economies are created by a positive feedback loop of viewers, content-creators, requestors, bounty hunters, and judges.\n\nPlatforms such as YouTube incentivize the creation of original content by allowing users to monetize their channels. However, the content within the channel must be YouTube approved, and the platform itself takes a massive chunk of the revenue stream. Novusphere, by contrast, places no limits on content creation and doesn't stand between content creators and their viewers. Instead, Novusphere facilitates the sharing of content and does not in any way control it.\n\nOn a practical level, the way it works is simple. ATMOS is the Novusphere's native cryptocurrency and is the base unit of monetary exchange between viewers and creators. As a content creator, a user decides what type of content to create and at what cost it can be accessed. Viewers can then pay to watch the content, or if it is free, view it without the expenditure of ATMOS.\n\nIf a viewer wants something specific, they can create a bounty on the Novsuphere community outlining the type of content they want to see created and how much they are willing to pay for it in ATMOS. Bounty hunters who are capable of creating the requested content accept the bounty, fulfill it, and have the work rated by viewers who determine if it fulfills the specifications of the bounty or not.\n\nIn effect, Novusphere communities are self-governed and centered around the fungible and anonymous ATMOS token. By holding ATMOS, users have governance rights to the Novusphere. Protocol-wide changes must first take place with 10% of the ATMOS supply participating and a majority consensus decision is required to effect a yes or no.\n\nNovusphere is built atop the high-performance EOS blockchain and uses IPFS for off-chain decentralized storage of content. It has a media player which is strictly right out of the book basic JavaScript embed and reminds me of those heady days of yesteryear when people thought that streaming their own radio station was going to end up with big bucks. (I remember those days. I was part of those days.)\n\nEven by Internet radio standards, this is pretty weak sauce. No playlist of recently played tracks, no ability to request things from your archives when there's no live show planned – all pretty basic stuff for Internet radio as of 10 years ago.\n\nNot to mention the header image which has a broken bottom shading underneath the embedded player if your browser is running 1920 x 1080.\n\nThese are bush league design errors that I've talked first year design students around.\n\nSo I'll reiterate – what could an employee of your site take 30,000 of from \"clients?\" It certainly can't be USD, or I'll have to ask why it wasn't invested into a solid web design company instead of whoever did this mess.\n\nAnd if you're going to link to an article which supposedly describes what's going on, you probably ought to at least make sure that it resolves to an actual post and/or article on your site instead of giving:\n\n> ParseError thrown\n>\n> syntax error, unexpected '<', expecting end of file\n\nI don't want to suggest that you have a credibility gap here, because that would be to imply that you have any credibility at all.\n\nLike I said, minor-league web design stuff.
