He asks that his Glasses, be returned to him so he doesn’t go blind.\n\nJustice Nyako said the complaint has been noted and directed Ozekhome to proceed with the business of the day.\n\nAt this juncture, Ozekhome said he has an application that basically seeks the quashing, striking out, and dismissing of the 15-count amended charge against Kanu for being incompetent and denying the court of jurisdiction to entertain the 15-count amended charge.\n\nThe application, with 34 grounds, and supported by 36-paragraph affidavit, Ozekhome said, also seeks for an order acquitting and discharging Kanu for want of jurisdiction and defective, baseless and incompetent charges.\n\nThe matter was then adjourned to April 8 to rule on Kanu’s applications to quash the charge.\n\nMr Kanu is accused of various offences, including treasonable felony and terrorism, offences he allegedly committed in the course of his separatist campaigns.",

      "body": "officials announced on Tuesday they had recovered $3.6 billion of bitcoin stolen in a 2016, throwing a light on the scams that surround cryptocurrency.\n\nBut how exactly do criminals steal in the virtual world?\n\nHacking The Exchanges\nBitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are bought, sold and stored on exchanges, just like commodities in the non-virtual world.\n\nBut crypto investors, and those who organise exchanges, often object to centralised control and reject stringent oversight — and that sometimes leads to lax security.\n\n“Exchange sites have stocks that are relatively large at any given time in crypto,” says Manuel Valente of Coinhouse, a French company that manages crypto transactions.\n\n“But these are servers, machines — and malicious people sometimes manage to get into their servers and steal money.”\n\nMost of these problems are caused by weak security, he says.\n\nAlexander Stachtchenko of KPMG agrees, pointing out that some platforms still store passwords on their servers.\n\n“If you can get into the server you can steal the passwords,” he says. “Once you have the passwords, you move the bitcoins from one address to another and then people don’t have access to those bitcoins.”\n\n\nHacking The Blockchain \nAll things crypto rely on the blockchain — a chain of code composed of interlocking blocks. It stores the details of all transactions made in cryptocurrency.\n\nBecause each block is linked, it is impossible to change a block of code without altering the whole chain — the basis of the security claims made by those who trumpet the benefits of crypto.\n\nHowever, there is a theory that if a group was to obtain more than 50 percent of a particular blockchain, it could start rewriting transactions, blocking new ones, and double-spending coins.\n\nAn exchange called Gate.io alleged it lost $200,000 in an attack like this in 2019, but experts think it would be impossible to target major players like bitcoin.\n\nSuch an attack “would be incredibly hard and incredibly energy-intensive”, says Erica Stanford, author of “Crypto Wars: Faked Deaths, Missing Billions & Industry Disruption”.\n\n“With bitcoin now it wouldn’t be possible because of how much energy it would use.”\n\nCrypto-Adjacent Crime\n \n\nMany of the scams around crypto are less to do with the technology and more linked to old-fashioned confidence tricks or extortion where the criminals asked for payment in crypto.\n\nThe main family of scams have been the Ponzi-style schemes, where a new coin is hyped and its value inflated by the creators, who then dump all their coin when the price reaches its highest point, leaving many investors penniless.\n\nSuch frauds, while not unique to crypto, netted $7 billion for scammers in 2019 but dropped massively the following year, according to analysis firm Chainalysis.\n\n“The main scam hasn’t been about crypto so much as about using the belief that people will get rich quick to trick people into investing,” says Stanford.\n\nShe concedes, however, that the newness of crypto and its allure as a get-rich-quick idea has helped the scammers no end.\n\nThe Net Closes\nWhile cryptocurrencies became notorious for these Ponzi-style schemes, Stanford points out that the high point of the scams was between 2016 and 2018.\n\nShe says the market has now matured, people are more knowledgable, law enforcement and regulators are more involved, and analytical tools abound, allowing the currencies to be traced.\n\nChainalysis reported that overall crime related to crypto fell hugely last year.\n\nStachtchenko points out that many of the major platforms have now ramped up security to combat hackers.\n\n“Some have even bought ‘bunkers’ — a kind of digital safe,” he says.\n\nValente agrees, saying that monitoring has been ramped up to such an extent that criminals will not be able to spend their crypto even if they hide it for years.\n\n“As soon as the stolen bitcoins start moving again, everyone knows,” he says. “Now, almost no company will deal with bitcoins that have been stolen.”\n![crpto.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQme9Wq2TkcFxQ32EBkXypq1B81r12VU24JW5nGVHRYzMCo/crpto.jpg)",

      "body": "YouTube on Thursday laid out goals for the year that included making the lives of creators easier and boosting a popular format that rivals TikTok.\n\nThe video-sharing platform is investing in short-form and live video, along with tools to help creators make money and produce fresh content, according to chief product officer Neal Mohan.\n\n“YouTube creators are the heart and soul of the platform, and we want them to always be able to fulfill their most ambitious creative goals,” Mohan said in a blog post.\n\n“To give them every opportunity possible, we’ll continue to invest across our multiple formats.”\n\n\nShort-form content like the video snippets that are a winning ingredient at TikTok are incredibly popular.       "body": "The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) has directed all its depots and outlets to begin 24 hours operations to address the fuel scarcity across the country.\n\nNNPC Group Executive Director (Downstream), Mr Adetunji Adeyemi, announced this on Tuesday in Abuja amid the growing concerns over the scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) popularly known as petrol.\n\n“In order to accelerate PMS distribution across the country, NNPC limited has commenced 24 hours operations at its depots and retail outlets nationwide,” he said at a news conference in the nation’s capital.\nAdeyemi revealed that the company has several million litres of petrol in stock, adding that they were expecting about 2.3 billion litres of petrol in the country by the end of the month.\n\nHe stated that the retail outlets of major oil marketers have also commenced 24 hours service to ensure that more motorists were attended to daily.\n\n“To address the (fuel scarcity) situation, over 2.3 billion litres will arrive the country between now and end of February 2022,” the NNPC group executive director said. “This will restore sufficiency level above the national target of 30 days.\n\n“As of today, NNPC has over one billion litres of petrol in stock and the petrol being dispensed at the various filling stations in the country is safe.\n\n“Furthermore, NNPC has constituted a monitoring team with the support of the authority and other security agencies to ensure smooth distribution of petrol nationwide.”\n![NNPC-Briefing.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmdLDGedY6voKzRosShMGnk6mWooda1HhV8HyXSHC7dmVc/NNPC-Briefing.jpg)",
