It's high in usable folate, it's the most concentrated source of vitamin B-12, it's an excellent source of trace minerals, and it's the BEST source of bio-available vitamin A! \nLiver also contains all of the fat-soluble vitamins and consuming liver is a great way to  increase your vitamin D intake. \n\nSo reading that short list, we can already see how nutritious liver is! It is essential that we consume animals that are local, pasture raised, and actually fed food that they're meant to eat (cattle should be eating a grass-fed diet, not corn and soy).  Meat from pasture-raised animals has 2-4 times more omega-3 fatty acids than meat from commercially-raised animals, and grass-fed cattle have higher vitamin A content as well. \n\n\nSomeone may bring up that liver is full of toxins because the liver filters them. However, liver does NOT store toxins. Once the liver has identified the toxins, they are marked to be excreted via the intestines or kidneys. This also falls back onto the  utmost importance to make sure that the meat your consuming is purely grass-fed and from a trusted source.\n\nI urge everyone to do the research yourselves. Now, couple ideas about consuming liver if you have a tough time with it like I do...\n\n  One way you can consume liver is to hide it in your smoothies. Yup! Just add about a Tbsp frozen liver (either pre-chopped pieces, or just shave off bits with a sharp knife) to your smoothie! You shouldn't be able taste it unless you add more than you need, But a Tbsp should be enough. \n\nAnother way is you can grind it up with ground meat, for meatballs, meat patties, whatever the recipe that calls for ground beef. Great way to hide liver.\n\nAnd one of my favorite methods that I learned from a close friend, frozen liver pills! I recommend using a nonstick surface or spray. Use something that you'll be able to scrape the liver pills with and wont get scratched up.       "body": "Hello! I wanted to share a little bit of what I've been learning (and still learning) with something I've been kind of going through recently. It's a massive shit show, and incredibly unnecessary. I've been sucked into this drama where I've felt trapped in that I can't get out of this situation, like I have to defend myself against harmful lies, that I have to change myself to appease the person who's obsessive with everything I do and say, and I've learned a lot from this experience by going about the situation wrong (from lack of knowledge). I've given this person what they wanted by giving my attention, and this person ended up messaging my cousin to try to convince her to team up against me... Perhaps if I had known better, my family wouldn't be getting involved and the slandering and obsessiveness wouldn't have gotten out of hand as it is. \n\nIt doesn't help that the person I've been dealing with is a narcissist. These people are relentless and completely unreasonable and will do anything they can to paint someone else as the bad guy and accept no responsibility for themselves.  So, I hope through my experience, some of you can learn from it and be better prepared in case it were to happen to you and not make the same mistakes that I did. Granted, some of these things are easier said than done, but it's worth sticking to. \n\n\nSo, how do you handle someone who starts defaming and obsessing over you? \n\n1. Look At The Source\nWho's the person(s) that are spreading misinformation about you? What are they like? Do they have a history with doing this to other people? When it comes to dealing with slander, it's important to try and not react, breath, and be observant with the situation. For the most part, gossipers/slanderers thrive on drama. If you give them an emotional response, you're only adding fuel to their fire. \n\n\n2. Communication\nUnfortunately, we cannot control what other people say and do about you, even if they're going out of their way to try and hurt you. One of the hardest things, at least for me, to do is to bite my tongue and not respond/defend myself. But no matter what you do, you cannot stop someone who has ill intentions to slander you and what they say. Sometimes, depending on the situation, you can try to confront the person (given that you know the source of slander) and try to figure out the roots to why they're saying what they're saying about you. You may be able to clear up a misunderstanding, so it could potentially be worth trying. However, I think this only works if the person is mentally well enough to have a rational discussion. I had thought about doing this, but in my case this person is focused on projecting their insecurities that it would have probably made things worse. \nCommunication with people like the person I've been dealing with, can lead to extortion. You cannot use reason with someone who can't reason with themselves or who has a record of emotional and mental instability. This falls back onto #1 and being observant. Use reason to decide what the best way to go about it is. \n\n3. Don't respond by looking for faults in them. \nSometimes our first inclination to someone talking trash about you is to find faults about them to exploit.\n\"Well, she has no place to talk because...\" It's not the best way to handle the situation, it's reactionary, and it doesn't help your case in how others see you.  It sucks you into the world of the defamer. It may make you feel smart and witty, but it's impulsive and you usually regret it later. \n\n4. DO NOT allow yourself to feel like a victim. \nSlander and gossip can be fairly difficult to deal with emotionally/mentally, but you do not have to let the circumstances make you helpless. Take responsibility for how you feel and what you're going to be doing moving forward. Use this as a learning experience to identify toxic people and who you're real friends are. Create drama or make small things into big problems\n. Gossiping or constantly caring about what others are doing\n. Lack empathy for others\n. Constantly projecting blame onto someone else\n. Refusal of responsibility\n. Arrogant, acts superior \n. Will lie and distort facts and change events to suit their own agenda\n. Regularly provoke people then blame them for the fight\n. Will not admit to their mistakes\n\nSTAND UP FOR YOURSELF. Don't give into what these people crave, which is your attention. Standing up for yourself in this circumstance is to not see yourself as the victim here. Take this as a lesson to never believe rumors. Gather your evidence, have a list of witnesses. Don't try to address every accusation being made. Remember that you don't owe anyone an explanation. Pay attention to what's being said, document. \n\nAnd remember that it's not good to seek others opinion of who you are. None-constructive criticism is not worth sticking around for and it's best to not get involved with in the beginning. It may help you avoid a situation like this in the future. I wish I knew what I know now, but I'm grateful for this learning experience and feel that it has helped me grow as a person. \n\nI still struggle with identifying  what the appropriate thing to do when you want to warn others of the person who's being relentless, as I feel it's important to give a fair warning, but also doing it in a tasteful manner. It can be difficult to figure out what the best approach is going to be.       "body": "Yep, that's right. Seems counter productive, I know. But I'm going to explain why, so hear me out. \n\nMaking abortion illegal will not end or lower abortion rates. What it does is make abortion unsafe for women. \nIn countries where it is illegal, women are punished and jailed if they're suspected of having an abortion, even if they're having a miscarriage. \nOne thing that bothers me is many pro-lifers (not all) are also against birth control and teaching children about how to have sex. They'd rather avoid that discussion and teach children abstinence only until marriage. However, completely relying on abstinence leaves you unprepared and it is incredibly irresponsible as it doesn't actually stop people, especially young adults, from having sex. \nIt is not only unrealistic, but it leaves young adults without important information and skills they need to be smart about sex and how to do it safely. We fail our youth when we don't prepare them with medically accurate information.\nAnother reason why abstinence until marriage doesn't work is because people are either marrying later, or not at all. The average person starts having sex at the ages of 17-18 and the average person gets married around the age of 26. \nWe can also see, as presented here, that States with the most religious background, and therefore, teaching abstinence only, are the least successful in actually lowering abortion rates as well as avoiding unwanted/teen pregnancies.\nExpecting people to just not have sex? Not going to happen. They teach sex education rather than abstinence and abortion is legal. \n\nWhen it comes to difficult subjects such as this, pro-lifers and pro-choicers takes their sides and argue back and forth which is counter productive. It doesn't get anyone anywhere, it doesn't make anyone happy, and it creates tension. \n\nWhat we need to be doing is educating self responsibility. First off, if you're going to have sex, you need to be responsible for the consequences of that choice if they be good, or bad. When you have sex, you are indeed risking pregnancy and possible STD/STIs. This needs to be taught so that we can be informed and prepared when it comes to being faced with our instinctive/primal needs and desires. \nIf you want to lower abortion rates, you need to step out of your comfort zone and choose education and teach about sexuality rather than being embarrassed about it. We need to be teaching how our reproductive organs work. We need to be teaching that there's consequences to our choices. We need to do this without suppressing sexuality and education. \n\nSo what are you going to do about it? I know for me, I'm going to encourage education because I know it's effective. \n\nRemember, United we stand, Divided we fall.
