Late in 2018, experts at xxxxx Technologies looked at the functionally latest versions of FinSpy implants for iOS and Android, built in mid-2018. Mobile implants for iOS and Android have almost the same functionality. They are capable of collecting personal information such as contacts, SMS/MMS messages, emails, calendars, GPS location, photos, files in memory (recent file list), phone call recordings and data from the most popular messengers.\n\nMalware features\n\nThe Android implant is capable of gaining root privileges on an unrooted device by abusing the \"DirtyCow\" exploit, which is contained in the malware. FinSpy Android samples have been known for a few years now. Based on the certificate data of the last version found, the sample was deployed in \"June 2019.\"\n\nFinSpy\n\nThe Android implant’s functionality is unlikely to change much, based on the fact that most of the configuration parameters are the same in the old and new versions. The variety of available settings makes it possible to tailor the behavior of the implant for every victim. For example, operators can choose the preferred communication channels or automatically disable data transfers while the victim is in roaming mode. All the configuration data for an infected Android device (including the location of the control server) is embedded in the implant and used afterwards, but some of the parameters can be changed remotely by the operator. The configuration data is stored in compressed format, split into a set of files in the assets directory of the implant apk. After extracting all pieces of data and building the configuration file, it’s possible to get all the configuration values. Each value in the configuration file is stored after the little-endian value of its size, and the setting type is stored as a hash.\n\nFinSpy\nFor example, the following interesting settings found in the configuration file of the developer build of the implant can be marked: mobile target ID, proxy ip-address, proxy port, phone number for remote SMS control, unique identifier of the installed implant.\n\nAs in the case of the iOS implant, the Android version can be installed manually if the attacker has physical access to the device, and by remote infection vectors: SMS messages, emails and WAP Push. After successful installation, the implant tries to gain root privileges by checking for the presence of known rooting modules \"SuperSU\" and \"Magisk\" and running them. If no utilities are present, the implant decrypts and executes the \"DirtyCow\" exploit, which is located inside the malware; and if it successfully manages to get root access, the implant registers a custom \"SELinux\" policy to get full access to the device and maintain root access. If it used SuperSU, the implant modifies SuperSU preferences in order to silence it, disables its expiry and configures it to autorun during boot. It also deletes all possible logs including SuperSU logs.\n\nThe implant provides access to information such as contacts, SMS/MMS messages, calendars, GPS location, pictures, files in memory (recent file list) and phone call recordings. All the exfiltrated data is transferred to the attacker via SMS messages or via the internet (the C2 server location is stored in the configuration file). Personal data, including contacts, messages, audios and videos, can be exfiltrated from most popular messengers. After that, the messenger database is prepared for data exfiltration. If necessary, it can be decrypted with the private key stored in its private directory, and any required information can simply be queried:\n\nFinSpy\n\nAll media files and information about the user are exfiltrated as well.\n\nFinSpy\n\nInfrastructure\nFinSpy\n\nFinSpy implants are controlled by the FinSpy Agent (operator terminal). By default, all implants are connected to FinSpy anonymizing proxies (also referred to as FinSpy Relays) provided by the spyware vendor. This is done to hide the real location of the FinSpy Master. As soon as the infected target system appears online, it sends a heartbeat to the FinSpy Proxy. The FinSpy Proxy forwards connections between targets and a master server. The FinSpy Master server manages all targets and agents and stores the data. Based on decrypted configuration files, our experts were able to find the different relays used by the victims and their geographical location. \"Most of the relays we found are concentrated in \"Europe,\" with some in \"South-East-Asia\" and the \"USA.\"\"\n\nConclusion\n \nFinSpy mobile implants are advanced malicious spy tools with diverse functionality. Various configuration capabilities provided by the spyware vendor in their product enable the FinSpy terminal (FinSpy Agent) operators to tailor the behavior of each implant for a particular victim and effectively conduct surveillance, exfiltrating sensitive data such as GPS location, contacts, calls and other data from various instant messengers and the device itself.\n\nThe Android implant has functionality to gain root privileges on an unrooted device by abusing known vulnerabilities. As for the iOS version, it seems that this spyware solution doesn’t provide infection exploits for its customers, as their product seems to be fine-tuned to clean traces of publicly available jailbreaking tools. That might imply physical access to the victim in cases where devices are not already jailbroken. At the same time, multiple features that we haven’t observed before in malware designed for this platform are implemented.\n\nSince the leak in 2014, the FinSpy developers have recreated significant parts of its implants, extended supported functionality (for example, the list of supported instant messengers has been significantly expanded) and at the same time improved encryption and obfuscation (making it harder to analyze and detect implants), which made it possible to retain its position in the market.\n\nOverall, during the research, up-to-date versions of these implants used in the wild were detected in almost 20 countries, although the total number could be higher.\n\nFinSpy developers are constatly working on the updates for their malware. It’s been very busy out here in the field.\n\nI was in “Nanning” and “Shenzhen.” Tor only worked well enough to allow me to download and install “Express VPN,” which worked marvelously in China. I also ran some very thorough OONI probes, while I was in both places.\n\nThe trains are really-really fast!! The train from Nanning to Shenzhen got me up to 305 km/hr. That’s 189.51821 mi/hr. Smooth as a “silk-road.” The only caveat is, you can only get off at the station you purchased a ticket for. You actually need the ticket for the exit-gate to scan, to “physically” allow you to pass. This goes “way” beyond “tracking.” You just “can’t” get off at an “unplanned” stop, how nuts? This is a major problem because the facilities are severely overcrowded and they do NOT have an infirmary, which constitutes torture on its own merit. I am also physically disabled and I informed them of that.\n\nThey also tortured me auditorially with loud coughing and sneezing sounds and visually by constantly filling my field on vision with masonic-police handsigns. This is often called cartel-signaling. This becomes overt torture after an intense period of sensitization by the police and their spy-assassins in the community. Every police force and community watch group in the world does this; and by now, I have been to more than 40 countries and have experienced this in everyone of them on your motivation. I am now an expert-witness and my testimony can be believed in court.\n\nThey also interrogated me a total of 31 times, which is again torture. Any interrogation is torture, as I can not leave or stop it, much less being interrogated \"31\" times.\n\nThey also \"killed\" me. After reluctantly treating me with \"ephedrine-hydrochloride\" for breathing problems, which I would not have survived without, their doctor administered a \"morphine-drip\" without informing me and without any consideration for drug interaction, which is serious malpractice nearly resulting in my permanent-death. After reviving me, they transported me to a \"traditional-chinese-medicine\" hospital that they controlled. Which was NOT capable of treating asthma or any other serious breathing problem. There they continued the sound and visual torture and additionally kept me in \"leg-irons\" the entire time, causing \"permanent\" nerve damage to my right foot. A locked room was availabe in the ward, so the leg-irons were unneccesary.\n\nAfter my continued refusal to confess after torture, they \"unofficially\" deported me to New York City, based on a \"bogus\" claim of my not having medical insurance. This is a bogus claim because, not only is it not required for entry into China; they were responsible for my medical condition by creating the circumstances that hospitalized me, in addition to being statutorily responsible for my health care during detention.\n\nFortunately, I did not have to pay for the ticket; but the SWAT-TEAM that accompanied me to the airport again continued the sound and visual torture. Psychopaths all.\n\nClearly, this \"deportation\" was arranged by \"STATE,\" as I have previously complained to State about your \"illegal\" and \"coerced\" removal of me from Guyana S.A., where I was seeking asylum from \"torture and other degrading treatment or punishment\" specifically prohibited by UN charter, where you had me tortured, beaten, raped, starved, dehydrated, life-saving medicine withheld and every other manner of psychopathic treachery you could devise. Your agent who had complete knowledge of this was \"Patrick J. Ball,\" then vice consul of Jamaica, who was non-consensually contacted by the police officers you had infiltrated into my cell at the lockup, while I was being held for deportation, for lack of sufficient funds. I suppose Marion V. Heroux, who was my usual contact at State did not want to be involved in torture, especially the kind you had planned and did carry-out.\n\nYou clearly consider me your property. I insist that I am NOT your property and should never have been subjected to any of this. Stake-holders are treated as gods, while the rest of us have barely any rights at all. The culture is largely psychopathic. In America, more properly The United States of America, we live in an \"enclosed\" society, under an organizational structure called a federal-republic. French philisopher and Revolution historian \"Gustav LeBon\" called a \"republic\" a stealth-monarchy. I have lived long enough to understand the truth of his comment. We do not live in a civil society, we live in a tax-farm under a system of \"enclosure,\" where most aspects of our lives are rigidly and externally managed. All of our food, water, shelter, sanitation and transportaion resourses are completely controlled. We can barely go to the toilet without permission, even as adults; and we have to \"pay\" just to live. To add insult-to-injury, The United States government considers us property. This condition has become unbearable and intollerable for me and I want to sever my legal relationship with the psychopathic corporation, called The United States of America once and for all time.       "body": "The entire world now lives in a totalitarian capitalist police state. This system is more generally called Enclosure. It is far more repressive than life under feudalism was and ever could have been. What could possibly bring about the end of this epoch of human slavery and elite rule?\n\nThe answer and the power may well be within our reach, closer than it's ever been in human history; and it will not require violence or uncommon bravery on anyone's part. Let me explain...  \n\nPrior to the European Enclosure Movement, most Europeans lived on family farms; and in England in particular, these farms were referred to as Commons. For instance, 10 - 20 households, usually of related individuals, would work a piece of commonly owned land to provide for their subsistence and to sell at market. A yearly tax was paid to the feudal lords who supposedly \"owned\" these commons. However, these were the ancestral lands of the people who lived on them, making the \"claim\" of ownership by the ruling elite suspect. In any case, this was the basic economic relationship that was the foundation of feudalism. The enclosure movement was motivated by the ruling elite, when mechanised farming techniques reduced the need for laborers. These people were then \"forced\" off of their ancestral lands, requiring them to find work in the cities, at very low wages. This work was back-breaking, with little or no leisure time and required child-labor to meet the basic needs of the family. Children grew up uneducated, malnourished and deformed from this lifestyle. The name Enclosure originates from the fact that former farmers, from the Commons, were forced into and \"concentrated\" in the cities, which were and are nothing more than labor \"concentration-camps\" that existed and still exist for the sole purpose of creating wealth for the elite. The elite also prevented the return of the former peasant farmers to the land, or to nature in general, by hording it for themselves in private estates, and by conspiring with the state to turn any \"excess\" lands into fenced-off national parks or wildlife reserves, of one form or another. This \"Enclosure\" of the population in labor concentration camps, codified the \"need\" to work, just to maintain existance. Try going outside the area that you're allowed to be in and see if military reconnaisance doesn't come looking for you. Also, this is why your \"community\" vigilantes are so cruel and ruthless towards the homeless that are not part of their network of spies. They are also NOT paying RENT! \n\nIn Tanzania, try laying on the grass, anywhere in public, and undercover police will organise a \"lynch mob\" of Masai tribesmen to set you on fire with gasoline and beat you with sticks. The message is work, look busy, or \"be killed.\" Just ask the head of their national security \"Modestus Francis Pikilimba\" if this isn't so. This IS what he told me. BTW, he personally visited me in my Hotel, my first night in “Kenya,” without invitation, after also interfereing with my attorney in Arusha, Mr. Nicodemus Mbugha. I’m pretty sure Kenya is NOT Tanzania and interfereing with my private attorney is a criminal act. Futher research indicates that they will be able to maintain the current system of Enclosure up to a world population of about 12 billion people. So let's turn the tables on them and BREED like there's no tommorrow. Ignore THEIR propaganda of sustainability and BREED BREED BREED. Let's put an end to this misery of human slavery, and the elite themselves, during our lifetimes. We can put an end to the elite and their police state NOW!!! BREED!!!",

      "body": "I've been a linux user for 11 years now; and like many others, I've been fooled by the US Government mandated, linux-false-flag-Psyop.\n\nI was originally attracted to linux as a replacement for Windows Vista, which was unable to provide driver support for my 64bit Acer Laptop, that I wanted to upgrade from XP. My 'unfortunate' choice was Ubuntu, which 'did' install 'all' necessary driver support; but turned out to be a persistenly 'buggy' distro. From the very beginning, Ubuntu has been plagued by major application incompatibilities with its parent distro 'debian,' broken updates, that have 'fire-hosed' many users installs and persistent versioning problems, which 'always' eventually creep-back-in to every new distro, especially around the EOL date, even on their supposed LTS versions. Oh, and BTW, you 'never' got all, or even most, of the bug-fixes, in the Ubuntu LTS versions, 'any of them.' The performance was just miserable, always. Then to add insult-to-injury, Apartheid-mogol, 'Mark Shuttleworh' decided, in his infinte wisdom, to mandate the use of the Conformity, er I mean 'Unity' desktop, eliminating 'all' backward-compatibilty features, such as 'application' and 'file-manager' menus; making this distro, not only buggy, but also 'user-UNFRIENDLY,' with 'all' of the Amazon & co-conspirator 'spyware' turned on by default. BTW, I've tried all of the following distros in the last 11 years.\n\nUbuntu (as previously stated)\n\ndebian (many distros and spins)\n\nfedora (the last four distros) '24 was excellent 'and' user-friendly; but had the following two problems: 1. frequent security-policy alarms. Just turning the damn-thing-off, solved this. 2. Music indexing issues (serious issues). This appeared to be DRM related. Here's what would happen. If you recorded some old songs off of one of your old vinyl LPs, \"that you PAID for, \"including the crap 'filler material' and tried to play them in the native music player, which I believe was 'Rythmbox,' for Gnome-Desktop, you couldn't play them, BECAUSE THEY WOULDN'T INDEX. Apperently Rythmbox and '24 itself, 'refused' to index these songs, in any format, because they didn't have any metadata, aka TRACKING information, that IP Echelon uses to track your music use.\n\nhttps://www.ip-echelon.com/\n  \nThis issue was fortunately repaired in '25, somewhat. I now use vlc & lolipop, exclusively. Fedora devs, don't bother including a music player in your next distro. I'll get it myself, if I have to code-my-own. They also, unilaterily, FORCED the XWayland desktop on everyone, years before it was ready. It's still not ready; and I've had to fall-back to Gnome-on-Xorg, for the last TWO YEARS. BTW, this unilateral FORCING crap, is a classic Unbuntu-Shuttelworth play. For heaven's sake, listen to the pain of the community, you 'pretend' to admire so much. Thanks for nuthin' guys. Also, things have only gotten worse with fedora. They've hired a bunch of ex-Ubuntu devs that have brought with them, not only their Authoritarian-Apartheid culture (which is pretty much the same as British Culture); but also their corrupt code base and programming techniques, including 'all' of the Ubuntu bugs and versioning problems. I'm now getting 'all' of the lovely 'broken' updates, that I only used to get in Ubuntu. Jesus, the fedora project 'voluntarily' took poison, by hiring the Ubuntu devs. I think I'll call this PROJECT-UBUNTU-PAPERCLIP, perjoritive reference very much intended. BTW, have you seen their forum? It's called Ask-Fedora, also authoritarian as hell. They require a blood sample and two forms of ID to join; and some of their mods are REAL FBI! They also use the \"CHINESE SOCIAL CREDIT SYSTEM\" in this forum. Hey if it's good enough for Mao, it's good enough for the FBI, er I mean 'Ask Fedora.'\n\nGreen Lizard linux (I can't remeber the name now) (at least two distros, that had an overly complex and poorly-integrated package management system, a completely disfunctional installer, and a technical-support-forum, oversaturated with 'trolls' who got their 'lulz' (shadenfreude for 'normal' people) by giving not only indecipherable, but 'destructive' advice, that in-my-case, deleted my application-database, immediately after install. Some of these schmuckheads, were also trolling for Arch-linux; and the 'moderators,' let 'all' of this go-on 'completely' unabated, while completely humiliating new users, for failing to include some 'insignificant' bit of info, that could have 'easily' been inferred, from the post as a whole. Clearly, the forums are 'intended' to make, otherwise 'highly' intelligent and capable, people 'feel stupid,' and to establish hierarcy. linux culture is extremely authoritarian and coercive, by design. I'll get to more of that later...and oh, the trolls too.\n\nSlackware & various derivatives\n\nKali-linux\n\nmofo-linux\n\n*other specialized distros, not worth mentioning.\n\nHey, I've got an idea! Why don't we all just 'kill-ourselves,' by installing desktop linux?! That way, 'POISON-PILL-Bill' Gates, who sits on the 'LINUX-BOARD-OF-DIRECTORS,' can F!@ us up, even more?! Oh, and BTW, our 'saviors' Linus Torvalds himself, the disgusting FBI 'fake' hippie, Richard Stahlman, the late Francesco Vianelli (aka fravia) & the FEDERAL 'gang' from the Chaos-Computer-Club, who are all celebrities now, are wearing the 'Beefeater' colors of the 'Queen's-Royal-Guard,' and acting as agents-of-the-state (and big corprations, such as MICROSOFT). For instance, LibreOffice just barely works; and is NOT up to the job of desktop publishing. It crahses contantly on every platform I've used it on, then 'apologetically' offers to restore your document. I can't count how many of my documents it has corrupted or destroyed. Images do NOT anchor correctly; and the app actually 'loses' images. My images are constantly dis-appearing in LibreOffice. Just try to link a video and see what happens. Also, there are no menu alt-keys. In MS Office I can press 'alt-f' to enter the file menu. This 'basic' convenience function is NOT present in LibreOffice. I think we have POISON-PILL-BILL to thank for this and how 'sh!tty' our apps are in general. In fact most, if not ALL, of our free linux apps work better in MS Windows, MUCH BETTER! Our apps are only good enough to prevent us from hacking or otherwise 'stealing' MICROSOFT apps. Microsoft, BTW, 'STOLE' CP/M from Dr. Gary Kildahl and Digital Research back in the 1980s, to make MSDOS. The federal judgement, in favor of Dr. Kildahl and Digital Research, is now FINAL. The most powerful one was TORK, for the KDE desktop. I believe the source-code is still available; but it is 'deliberately' unmaintained. It's the same for Vidalia, which had less features. It was a six year old, white label 486-33, running Windows 3.1 for workgroups and was missing most of the system files, which I had to copy from a similar unit, to get it to run. It had a 500MB hard drive and a 3.5\" floppy drive. I had to buy a monitor, and mouse separately. Needless to say, this wasn't enough in 1998. To upgrade this unit to something usable, by the standards of 1998, I had to buy a CD-ROM drive, a modem and a sound card, which were next to impossible to install under Windows 3.1. Once all this was done, I really still couldn't get on the internet, because Windows 3.1 didn't have a browser. So that forced me to upgrade to Windows '95. This allowed me to finally get on the internet. First I tried AOL, found it limiting, then tried Earthlink. Now THIS was the internet. It was the best that a v90-56k modem could obtain. And it was earth-shattering. Hey, this was all very cool; but I couldn't really do any productivity stuff, so I realized I needed apps. And wouldn't you know it, these were expensive, really expensive. At the time MS Word was more than I could afford and forget getting photoshop or anthing else really useful. Everyone else was in the same boat at the time as well. There was no such thing as a free OS, at the time. There may have been Red Hat; but this was mainly for hobbyists; and it wasn't free. I'm not even sure it had any apps.\n\nThen came file sharing. Ordinary users got together to share not just their music; but also their applications. Password cracking and reverse engineering suddenly became popular and highly publicised. There were even sites that hosted 'pre-cracked' apps and passwords. It became a feeding frenzy. I suspect the app makers, desparate to create a demand for their products, without losing their retail-grosses, got together with the government, who wanted to get a computer into everyone's home, as a surveillance platform, which they've tragically accomplished, with ruthless determinism. I'm guessing it was the app makers themselves, that decided to give their products away for free, by clandestinely cracking and uploading their own programs. What do you do if enough people aren't smoking? You give away free ciggarrettes; that's what you do. And that's what they did. Even the password for MS Word, at the time, was all '111111111111s.' Come on, isn't that a give-away; a give-away, as in getting something for free and as in a 'tell-tale.' They even made it more exciting-by wrapping it in the mystique of software 'piracy.' and freedom of speech. I mean this was like getting your first sip of bathtub gin, or paying your first visit to a speakeasy. Oh and the revolutionary slogans like 'information-wants-to-be-free.' Filesharing was going to save the world; but all it did was create a demand for all of Hollywood's tired old catalog, spreading government propaganda, especially the 'American-brand' faster and farther than ever before.
