Su impacto ha aumentado en gran escala durante estos últimos años. Los avances tecnológicos y la posibilidad de tener un dispositivo con conexión a internet a nuestro alcance han facilitado el proceso de crecimiento.\n\nPueden ser nuestras aliadas a la hora de comunicarnos con amigos o familiares, buscar información para un trabajo o ayudar a promocionar un negocio. También pueden ser  nuestras enemigas por algunas razones de las cuales todos hemos sido advertidos innumerables veces.\n \nSin embargo, considero a las redes sociales como algo más positivo que negativo, ¿Por qué? Bueno, con ellas he crecido más como persona y he expandido mis conocimientos sobre ciertos temas, incluyendo momentos históricos de otros países o datos sobre la vida de personajes notables como Frida Kahlo o Julia Morgan. Para mí es común iniciar sesión en Twitter y leer hilos sobre dichos tópicos y mucho más.\n\nAl seguir a usuarios de distintas nacionalidades, quienes han crecido bajo ambientes distintos al mío, no solo aprendo de la evolución de sus países, también me encuentro con un caudal de opiniones y puntos de vista que me permiten abrir mi mente a nuevos escenarios.\n\nHoy en día sigo pensando en cómo sería mi manera de ver al mundo si mis padres no me hubiesen permitido crear mis cuentas en Instagram o Quora. Siendo honesta no imagino nada bueno ya que no hubiera podido relacionarme con otras culturas y saber sus realidades. En el peor de los casos hasta seguiría con ideas retrógradas como muchas personas de la época de mis abuelos. \n\nLas redes sociales son muy influyentes. No debemos abusar de ellas pero tampoco permitir ser abusados por otros usuarios que al igual que yo se alimentan de la información que se genera desde cualquier punto del planeta. \n</div>",

The act of becoming bilingual or multilingual can give us a complete twist, it increases our knowledge and it serves as a boost to our work as professionals and more.  \n\nBy studying an alternative language we can understand our natural language since part of the process includes learning its grammar, tenses and structures. It also helps us to improve the way we speak, write and communicate. Of course, from time to time we forget some words or we only know how to say them in one language and not in the other one.\n\nWhen we embark on the adventure of knowing a language, we get to know the traditions of the original country. This cultural awareness provides us rich interpersonal experiences, such as building relationships, appreciating different ethnic and cultural values and discovering unique stories.\n\nThis is an achievement that any person should feel proud of, extremely satisfied. The benefits associated with the training of the new language increase our self-esteem and expand our horizons. Once the learning period ends, we value the time and effort invested and we realize that it was worth the experience. \n</div>",

El acto de convertirnos en bilingües o multilingües puede darle un completo giro a la manera en que vivimos; aumenta nuestros conocimientos; sirve como empujón a nuestra labor como profesionales y más.\n\nParte del proceso incluye aprender su gramática, tiempos y estructuras. Al estudiar un idioma alterno podemos comprender nuestra lengua natural ayudándonos a mejorar nuestra oratoria, escritura y comunicación. Claro, de vez en cuando olvidamos palabras o solo sabemos decirlas en un idioma, no en otro. Su impacto ha aumentado en gran escala durante estos últimos años. Los avances tecnológicos y la posibilidad de tener un dispositivo con conexión a internet a nuestro alcance han facilitado el proceso de crecimiento.\n\nA pesar de que pueden ser nuestras aliadas a la hora de comunicarnos con amigos o familiares, buscar información para un trabajo o ayudar a promocionar un negocio, también pueden ser  nuestras enemigas por algunas razones de las cuales todos hemos sido advertidos innumerables veces. \n\nSin embargo, a mí me gusta considerar a las redes sociales como algo más positivo que negativo, ¿por qué? bueno, con ellas he crecido más como persona y he expandido mis conocimientos sobre ciertos temas, incluyendo momentos históricos de otros países o datos sobre la vida de personajes notables como Frida Kahlo o Julia Morgan. Es muy común iniciar sesión en Twitter y ver hilos sobre dichos tópicos y mucho más.\n\nAl seguir a usuarios de distintas nacionalidades, quienes han crecido bajo ambientes distintos al mío, no solo aprendo de elementos de la cultura de sus países sino también de un caudal de opiniones y puntos de vista  que me ayudaron a abrir mi mente a nuevos escenarios.\n\nHoy en día sigo pensando en cómo sería mi manera de ver ciertas cosas si mis padres no me hubiesen permitido crear mis cuentas en Instagram o Quora. Siendo honesta no me imagino mis días sin las redes ya que no hubiera podido relacionarme con lo extranjero ni darme la oportunidad de saber como han evolucionado otras sociedades. En el peor de los casos hasta seguiría con ideas un tanto retrógradas como algunos de la época de mis padres. \n\nLas redes sociales son muy poderosas.  Lo ideal es no abusar de ellas pero tampoco permitirles a otros usuarios que abusen de nosotros.\n</div>",

      "body": "<div class=\"text-justify\">\n\nFollowing my [previous post](https://steemit.com/music/@accgutierrez/k-pop-more-than-a-genre) about K-pop, let's discuss the last point of it!\n### Music\nIn the past, K-pop idols were extremely “manufactured” and companies didn’t let them write or produce their own songs, they just were in charge of performing what they were given. Nowadays you can find “self-producing idols” in almost every group creating their own lyrics and music but at the end, they only have a little taste of freedom because the management staff still has the last say.\n\nLeaving all the rules behind, what I really like about entertainment companies is that they are very open-minded about learning what sells internationally. They are always experimenting with the latest trends from different music genres to create the diversity you can see in their groups, bands and soloists. Not to mention that some of them hold auditions in countries like China, Japan, Canada, the US and more, with the purpose of discovering and fostering young talented people, no matter their nationality, gender and age.\n\nAs a result, K-pop has always been influenced by Western styles, with the difference that they add their own color to it. Maybe it’s the energy that you feel when you hear idols’ voices or the catchy lyrics and beats or when you see the amazing choreographies and incredible music videos.\n\nThe best of it is that you can find different types of songs, from one regarding problems in our society: \nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ku_FYERiHC8\n\nTo a cute and upbeat one which is about love:\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0p1bmr0EmE\n\nAnd let’s not forget the high-quality dance movements and visuals:\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UGMDJ9kZCA\n\nAdditionally, it’s completely common seeing them going to Japan or China to perform songs in another tongue or making collaborations with international artists since idols are “export” minded from day one, often learning new languages and trying to communicate with fans from all over the world.\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4Qyk9IBI2s\n\nSouth Korean modern music is becoming more and more popular. People are starting to expand their knowledge of their culture and history.       "body": "<div class=\"text-justify\">\n\nI often hear that _K-pop_, also known as _Korean Pop music_, is something “weird” or “immature” and people don’t want to even listen to it because they don’t understand what they’re saying. \n\nThis inspired me to write about K-pop, which is not only a genre but also a whole industry that has influenced South Korea’s economy and the rest of the world thanks to the _Hallyu Wave_ or _Korean Wave_, which is the increase of South Korea’s culture popularity by exporting music, TV dramas and movies. \n\nBut this is just an introduction so let's get into it.\n### System\nK-pop artists tend to sign with their management company when they’re 15-18 years old, or even younger. They left their families, friends and even their studies behind just to pursue their dreams of becoming performers. After that, they have to go under a training process that usually lasts 2-5 years and then, only some of them make their debut since there are lots of “trainees” and the competition is too strong. Later, the agency regains its costs when idols debut but there is almost nothing left for the artists since most of their earnings go to the staff.\n\nThe synchronized dance moves, perfect vocals and spectacular wardrobes don’t just cost money but they also cost time and idols’ mental and physical health.\n\n### Daily life\nThere is a belief that famous people have a glamorous life since they are rich, but is not that simple for K-pop idols. Lack of privacy, extreme diets, packed schedules, the pressure of not knowing if they are going to be successful or not and public judgment are waiting for them to debut to tear them down. \n\nSome of you might think “But those are things that every famous person goes through” and that’s correct. However, K-pop idols go from singing in a music show to another one, give interviews, make appearances in variety shows and then leave to practice again; All of that (and more) in just one day. They barely have time to sleep and they have to look after what they eat so that they can maintain their shape since beauty standards in South Korea are too strict.\n\nOn top of that, some fans always follow them and it doesn’t matter the place because they even try to broke in where their favorite idols live. They call to their phones at night; they get jealous if they are in a relationship or they spy on them. There are times that I think they don’t see them as humans but as living dolls that gives them money.
