      "body": "First as a kid in Liberia West Africa in 1966 I was exposed to Marine Boy, Astro Boy, Tobor The Eighth Man, Speed Racer and Kimba The White Lion. Life intervened and I was separated from anime for decades. \n     In the 1990's our paths again crossed. Cyber City Oedo 808 and the other Korean drawn classics made up group one...Ninja Scroll, Cobra, Goku Midnite Eye,  Wicked City and Demon City Shinjuku. \n     Group two was the awesome anime created by Rumiko Takahashi including Laughing Target, The Mermaid Saga and the infamous Ranma 1/2. \n     Group three were the girl groups Silent Moebius, Sol Bianca and probably my fav superhero group pf all time Bubblegum Crisis.  The spinoffs Bubblegum Crash and AD Police are just head shakingly good storytelling.\n     Group four are the movies that just knocked me on my ass. Akira, Vampire Hunter D, Ghost in the Shell, Neo Tokyo, Metropolis by Madhouse and Memories by Studio 4C and the incomparable Dagger of Kamui.\n     Group four is Studio Ghibli. Laputa, Grave of the Fireflies (yes I wept) Nausicaä  and My Neighbor Totoro. Forgive me but This is the smallest list I could provide. The stories in these clusters are what is responsible for my love of anime today. Hope my disobedience of the rules will not be held too much against me.       "body": "I only come here when I miss it. Not regularly. Not often. But when I do, this is where I come.\n     How ironic that a creature of the night,  should come to a place of darkness so she can see the light.\n     I stood out side the priest’s window tonight. Watching him sleep the sleep of the innocent.... waiting for the thirst to take me over. I thought that would be enough. It wasn’t. I forget the thousands I have slaughtered. The blood on my hands. The look of recognition on their faces as the moment is upon them. The shrill sounds of their screams, the breathless quality of their futile begging and pleading, my surprise just how many said not a word but simply raised their fists and made sure I would never forget their faces.\n     It is not the days I miss. And surely not proximity to the human soul and the intimate social exchange it engenders. It’s the sun. I miss the sun. Its warmth. Its brilliance. The way my clothes moved on my flesh as the sun dried it after a rainstorm. The smell of it on newly dried clothing.  Its soft, sweet loving caress on my brown skin. It was in those moments I knew I belonged to it and it alone.  But that was so long ago. All these things and more I miss about light I can see once and once only. So I cheat. I’ve cheated death(or is that life) for thousands of years so no problem there. I come here when I miss being alive. And if I am patient, somewhere and at sometime, I will catch a glimpse of it one more time. Such irony. The one thing I miss is the one thing that can destroy me.  The only thing that can. The naked light..... of the naked sun.
