      "body": "You might have encountered the term 'pure cryptocurrency' in your endeavours around the field. But what are those and how does NANO fair in this aspect?  \n  \nCrypto was envisioned with and have been (at least in theory) applied for two basic use cases: Store of Value and Means of Exchange. \n  \nHowever, with time and adoption these have expanded, and nowadays most crypto aims for (or to get close to) a collection of other properties: decentralized, secure, low latency and feeless.  \n  \nApplying even *some* of these have proven rather difficult for the most well known players currently in the field and remains a significant struggle.  \n  \nAnd this is where [NANO](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IeDMkMDMOJY) comes in.\n  \nBelow, I will try to 'briefly' explain how all these properties work in the coin.  \n\n- Store of Value  \n  \nNANO's 133m coins have been already distributed via captchas and there is no mining possible to gain more. This means it's deflationary in nature.  \n  \n- Means of Exchange  \n  \nDue to its unique tech (a combination of Directed Acyclic Graphs and Block Lattice), it produces transaction times (wallet to wallet) ranging from [0.15s to 1.5s](https://nanospeed.live/Results) (and *even in the middle of a spam attack attempt*, 10s). Initially, new wallets get assigned semi-random (as in depending on which wallet you use) and anyone can change reps any time.   \n  \nIf the network is disputing a contradictory transaction, it takes 6 (soon 7) different confirmations to approve such a transaction, making it that much harder to go through, compromising the system. All coins are already distributed and the process of buying up 51% will drive up the price incessantly.    \n  \nThe difficult part isn't driving the price up for a rich person or entity, it's that if they were doing so for profit they would also want to sell and that is a lot harder to do without pushing the price back down again.  \n  \nNANO uses Proof of Work (PoW) to avoid spammers as there is no transaction fees on the network. Each block has a small amount of work associated with it, approximately about 5 seconds to generate, and 1 microsecond to validate. This forces a malicious actor to dedicate a significant amount of computing power to carry out an attack, whilst requiring only a small amount of computing power by everyone else. Furthermore, it is also even possible for these spam transactions to be pruned away, limiting the amount of storage that can be consumed from this type of attack.  \n\nAdd to these that due to representatives and inherent security, a significant portion of the supply is offline in wallets so 51% of the coins needed for this might wouldn't even be available to purchase on centralized exchanges.  \n\n*Double spend by a malicious user*: Both versions of the double spend need to be signed by the users private key. I need to figure **a lot** of things out yet. But with my limited perspective, BTC seems more and more like a pump and dump while BCH is valued way below its potential yet.  \n  \nDue to the larger block sizes, the latter is a much more capable platform  for large volumes (eg. everyday use) with faster transactions and cheaper fees.\n  \nAnother view I tend to agree with: if emerging economies are to step in on the crypto game since their own currencies can't be relied upon, which platform are they going to choose? The bloated and unwieldy one or the streamlined and undervalued and -used one? I'd go for the latter personally.\n\n\nCurious how it'll all pan out.       "body": "Ending 2020, the year when I finally managed to recover my trading account (lol).  \n\nAlthough I had crypto reserves from earlier,  could only get into trading from 4 Sep.  \n  \nAdmittedly, it's as easy  as it could possibly be with the current market trends, I'm still happy with my +52% stock portfolio performance. \n\nThis of course does by no means mean that I'm a good trader (I only lost with those yet) and maybe an average investor in the recently diluted field. The reason for my gains is that I just bought TSLA (still kinda late) and the hype exceeded everyone's expectations to date.  \n  \nIt's pretty much the same with crypto, in which I ended up reversing my BCH play. I need the money to work yet and that I can most efficiently do with BTC with the current trends. Will see for the future.    \n  \nBut either way, let's get to the point. Here's how it looked going into 2021. This is most likely to drop in 2021 as I'll be looking for ways to diversify to an extent (more on that later). For the time being, my strategies for various tickers are:\n  \n- Long on BTC, institutions have just started pouring into it properly and there's hype around it as well.\n- TSLA I might take some profits on post Q4 report momentum (if I do, only to diversify) but planning long in general.\n- Now NIO, there's a chance I might sell for profits post NIO Day since I would like to grab the share at a lower price point ($50.35 DCA atm), I FOMOed into them pretty badly so it couldn't be that hard (famous last words).\n- ETH is a mid term hold, there's likely more to come for cryptos in 2021 and the 2.0 framework's still being deployed. Also FOMOed it pretty hard back in 2017, sadly at $950+, need to correct.\n- TWOU I grabbed from ARK's top 5 back in 30. November. Had a good run with +18% so far, not bullish on it but there's potential for more, quite a bit below ATH but potential to sell.\n- AAL is a \"hell, they'll need to move up either way\" kind of mid-term play, not significant with $80 total value at all. Could sell in 2021 as the recovery's rather slow. \n - BTG is just there chilling in the corner being unnoticed. \n\nAs you can see I'm still on the verge between trying to hold long and thinking short/mid term. I know the former is the way to go but there is an urge for the latter. So far I've only ever done two actual loss trades with $70-ish each. My larger motivator with trying to diversify is that there might be stocks out there with better growth potential in 2021. Will see, trying not to be hasty either way - most of these \"sell\" ideas probably won't materialize.\n\nAs for diversifying: \n\n- For a start I'd like to push the EV market's share from 46.7% down to around 30% total. Potential for sells.\n- Crypto holdings are going to stay the same, most likely no sells but total % could drop. A more ideal ratio would be around 30% as well, down from 49.50%.\n- Would like to get into online services and platforms like TWOU more, needs DD of course.  \n- ETFs are another that I haven't touched yet. Aiming 10-20% total share, most likely Clean Energy ETFs for a start, namely ICLN or a European derivative.\n- Cash should be 5-10%, unless I always want to touch my shares I need leverage for what I'm aiming to be doing and also as safety net ofc.\n\nSo the ratios would be:\n\n- 40% Shares (down from 50.5%)\n- 30% Crypto (down from 49.5%)\n- 20% ETF (up from 0%)\n- 10% Cash (up from 0%)\n\nPortfolio value goal is around $30-40, 000 by the end of 2021, which feels quite ambitious with ~$555 monthly income before expenses (and roughly $335 per month to spare). From this source, total investment could probably be in the $3500-$4000 range for the year.\n  \nI do plan on securing other sources of income (eg. with dropshipping) so there's potential chance for more.\n\nThat is all for now, will see how it pans out.       "body": "Ending 2020, the year when I finally managed to recover my Revolut account (lol).  \n  \nAlthough I had crypto reserves from earlier,  could only get into trading from 4 Sep.  \n  \nAdmittedly, it's as easy  as it could possibly be with the current market trends, I'm still happy with my +52% stock portfolio performance. This,  however by no means mean I'm a good trader. I just bought TSLA and the hype exceeded expectations.  \n  \nIt's the same with crypto - in which I ended up reversing my BCH play. I need the money to work yet and that I can most efficiently do with BTC with the current trends. Will see for the future.    \n  \nBut either way, let's get to the point. Here's how I've looked going into 2021. This is most likely to drop in 2021 as I'll be looking for ways to diversify to an extent (more on that later). Could sell in 2021 as the recovery's rather slow.  \n  \nAs you can see I'm still on the verge between trying to hold long and thinking short/mid term. I know the former is the way to go but there is an urge for the latter. So far I've only ever done two actual loss trades with $70-ish each. My larger motivator with trying to diversify is that there might be stocks out there with better growth potential in 2021. Will see, trying not to be hasty either way - most of these \"sell\" ideas probably won't materialize.\n\nAs for diversifying: \n\n- For a start I'd like to push the EV market's share from 46.7% to around 30% total. Potential for sells.\n- Crypto holdings are going to stay the same, most likely no sells but total % could drop. A more ideal ratio would be around 30% as well, down from 49.50%.\n- Would like to get into online services and platforms like TWOU more, needs DD of course.  \n- ETFs are another that I haven't touched yet. Because you have a lingering sense of entitlement emanating from others' presumptions that it might be the right play in the long con... \n  \nToday I switched my entire BTC stock to BCH.\n\n\nNow, it's not much to write home about for many of you probably but it's a lot for me personally.\nHere are the cold hard (and oh so mighty) numbers:\n\n0.15 BTC to 11.18 BCH. $4000 value \n  \n\nI don't claim I'm a crypto expert since I'm not. I need to figure **a lot** of things out yet. But with my limited perspective, BTC seems more and more like a pump and dump while BCH is valued way below its potential yet.  \n  \nDue to the larger block sizes, the latter is a much more capable platform  for large volumes (eg. everyday use) with faster transactions and cheaper fees.\n  \nAnother view I tend to agree with: if emerging economies are to step in on the crypto game since their own currencies can't be relied upon, which platform are they going to choose? The bloated and unwieldy one or the streamlined and undervalued and -used one? I'd go for the latter personally.\n\n\nCurious how it'll all pan out.
