body**Capturing an Environment** A transaction is recorded by entering a deduction in the sender's column and an increase in the receiver's column. An exchange might be recorded by keeping track of items going out and coming in, so that's two transactions or four entries. But we want to record the environment not the events in it. Then we want to derive results that look similar to those events. **What Goes into an Exchange** First, we need to define the outcome of an exchange. In the blockfield ledger, everything goes to the network, and everything comes from the network. Sender and receiver are obsolete distinctions, and the network is always producing rather than transmitting. The outcome therefore represents a quantity to be delivered and someone who is entitled to that delivery. Next, we need to define the origin of an exchange. In the blockfield ledger, something has worth if someone is willing to make it a priority over something else, and that can be any combination of available time, resources, effort, or opportunity. Once again, objects of value and services are exchanged in the physical market as a way of giving momentum to the blockfield system. The origin therefore represents a quantity offered in a limited context from someone committed to offering it. To connect origin to outcome, we need to define the process of an exchange. In the blockfield ledger, we have participants committing and consuming resources, which creates the momentum we mentioned earlier. This momentum represents offerings and deliveries from both ends of an exchange. The process therefore is the encoding of information which enables participants to more quickly accomplish their own exchanges. To make everything fair and equal, we need to define the quality of the exchange. In the blockfield ledger, we look at openings for collaboration and available resources, so we're interested in production, storage, labor, and exchange. The usefulness, the longevity, the accessibility, and the convertibility of values all go into the decision making process. The quality therefore is total value of all the ways these aspects relate and each has a success rating per exchange.

body* Record the Environment, Not Events * The transaction ledger of Bitcoin has a few issues. Although anyone can contribute to the network and form pools, the tendencies seen in legacy economic systems such as centralization of capital, are reflected in the amount of expense necessary to have a profitable mining setup for example. Bitcoin's ledger also depends on transactions from a decade ago and full complete distribution of the ledger, with the exception of light wallets like Electrum. In the worst case, it's a nightmare scenario where, if say banks adopted it, you might not have the Robodebt fiasco from Australia, but it is still a perfect monster database, like IBM's Hollerith machine, in the hands of corporations who have been caught collecting personal information of users of their services. The blockfield ledger records the way the market moves along with the transfer of coins. We have the accounts of users, which contain very few transactions, a series of snapshots of the grid, again only a few as needed, the grid workers converting local value to remote value, with many users participating, and the architecture of values in the system, broken down into four types. We want to only store the minimum necessary to allow users to be their own banks, their own SEC and Federal Reserve, their own lenders and service accountants, and to be able to counter any attempts by one group to exclude others from the benefits of the system. This system will keep enough information to verify the current snapshot of all accounts and grids, but will discard enough to prevent anyone from creating a system which can be abused indefinitely. Grid workers collect trace amounts of different items and exchange their collections to set a given ratio at that point on the grid. An exchage of goods, loan with interest, trade in shares, and an investment all have ratios and curves as their amounts are transferred. Grid workers have the job of making the grid reflect those ratios and curves by actually performing equivalent trades on the grid. Over time these ratio and curve descriptions will create smooth paths for many transactions to be represented. This is important: all actual trades will pass over tracks imprinted into the grid by grid workers, tracks which will be used by many users. This makes faking transactions especially difficult because the grid confirms transactions and any cheating in the ledger will affect other transactions. It will be impossible to modify the ledger without triggering alarms all over the place. The difficulty of abuse rises linearly with Bitcoin, but here it accelerates with each transaction. * Value Types and Combinations * There are four value types: coins, tokens, tickets, and points. Points and coins are used in users' accounts, while tickets and tokens are used on the grid for transfers. Points and tickets enable the holder to receive earnings and rewards periodically based on previous activity, while coins and tokens are the value types one earns or qualifies for as a reward. All value types can be exchanged, except points which can only be shared. Coins are generated by exchanging items, the amount determined by a mock trade across the grid, since these will often be shipped items. The traders are given a choice to accept the generated coins, or to get points instead. If they choose points, the coins go into a reward pot, while the points allow them to receive a proportional amount of coins from that pot, every so many trades on the network. Similarly, tokens and tickets, have the same function on the grid, but they are only available for a limited time. Potency in the form of coins measures total assets. Potential allows a group of people to pull out of a series of repetitive events or conditions by overcoming the sum of the loss or cost of those situations. Represented as points, potential allows a group to receive periodic earnings or reward that is proportionally worth more than the sum of the users' separate points held. This what we mean when we say points can't be transferred, but can be shared. The points represent the potential in the account, whereas coins represent the potency. Potency is simply what the user can create, whereas potential measures the what they can brainstorm together. Potency represented in coins tells us how much there is in an account, but potential in the form of points allows users to form groups and increase their total points to more than their individual points combined. Potency is like combining assets, which are consumed by combining, but potential is like combining ideas, which are not consumed in combination. * Potential Math and the Grid * If 2 people have ideas, A and B, they can create 1 new idea, AB. Now that is the limit, because even though ideas aren't consumed, redundant statement adds no value. AA, BB, AAB, ABB, aren't immediately useful. But if there are 3 people with 3 ideas, there are 3 new ideas possible, AB, AC, and BC. The real magic begins when there are 4 or more ideas on the table, because now 6 or more new ideas are possible, AB, AC, AD, BC, BD, and CD. For 5 people, there 10 new ideas possible, while 6 people can bring 15 new ideas. There is going to be a limit to this exploding increase, as it is easier for people who understand ideas AB, AC, and AD to communicate since they all share an understanding of idea A. But they can also combine them in more arrangements such as ABC, ABD, ACD, and BCD to increase familiarity. Every transaction on the grid has an incoming amount, an incoming item code, an outgoing amount, and an outgoing item code. The grid will record the exchange rate (received / sent) between the items at the y axis and the inverse exchange rate at the x axis. In between these points, a smooth curve will be projected as a guide. Every point inside the grid will have the average of the neighboring curve values. Each grid will represent some user's economic environment. After some time the blockfield grid will have enough information to represent many transactions. The job of grid workers is to assign a path for installment based transactions to go through. The amount of work necessary to match the curves will depend on the local cost and value of various items in the user's economic environment. * Tickets and Tokens * Because sender and receiver live in entirely different places we treat the coins sent and the coins received as if they were different currencies. Tickets are like points in that they give the holder a limited time to periodically receive tokens however they can be exchanged. Tokens are like coins but can only be spent on specific items. Tickets and tokens can only be acquired by destroying points and coins, so they are no longer part of the currency supply. Tickets and tokens allow grids to be used for all installment based or periodic payments and exchanges such as purchases, subscriptions, loans, investments, employment, gifts, and donations. In order to hire someone, the employer must be able to guarantee they can periodically pay for labor performed so they need tickets that, like points, will attract tokens from the grid pot. This creates a competition between the worker's demand for jobs and the employer's demand for labor where the worker is no longer forced into wage slavery but can negotiate a higher wage as long as they have enough tickets to guarantee a steady flow of tokens. This also separates transactions for things users desire from transactions for things users need, where coins and points are the larger living economy, while tickets and tokens guarantee are the smaller economy for guaranteeing users have basic necessities. The purpose of the blockfield is to move us to a post-scarcity economy. Scarcity is a natural challenge which is abusively amplified by employers and money players so that a large section of society is constantly struggling to make ends meet. There are various ways that scarcity is used to force many people to sacrifice their youth and health for someone else's gain. Some of these methods are direct and abusive while other causes of the same sort of anxieties are indirect and culturally ingrained. Typically people try to either demand as little interference as possible or to get as much help as possible, the usual market vs government debate. The trouble isn't the fact people in power abuse, but rather the inability of individuals to pull themselves or others out of a difficult situation. The blockfield ledger solves this problem by first allowing the local market environment to be part of the transaction process. In the event of powerful groups making things more difficult, grid workers can intervene by refusing to process transactions despite the larger profit enabled by the abuse.

In the worst case, it's a nightmare scenario where, if say banks adopted it, you might not have the Robodebt fiasco from Australia, but it is still a perfect monster database, like IBM's Hollerith machine, in the hands of corporations who have been caught collecting personal information of users of their services.\n\nThe blockfield ledger records the way the market moves along with the transfer of coins. This system will keep enough information to verify the current snapshot of all accounts and grids, but will discard enough to prevent anyone from creating a system which can be abused indefinitely.\n\nGrid workers collect trace amounts of different items and exchange their collections to set a given ratio at that point on the grid. An exchage of goods, loan with interest, trade in shares, and an investment all have ratios and curves as their amounts are transferred. Grid workers have the job of making the grid reflect those ratios and curves by actually performing equivalent trades on the grid. Over time these ratio and curve descriptions will create smooth paths for many transactions to be represented.\n\nThis is important: all actual trades will pass over tracks imprinted into the grid by grid workers, tracks which will be used by many users. This makes faking transactions especially difficult because the grid confirms transactions and any cheating in the ledger will affect other transactions. It will be impossible to modify the ledger without triggering alarms all over the place. The difficulty of abuse rises linearly with Bitcoin, but here it accelerates with each transaction.\n\n* Value Types and Combinations *\n\nThere are four value types: coins, tokens, tickets, and points. Points and coins are used in users' accounts, while tickets and tokens are used on the grid for transfers. Points and tickets enable the holder to receive earnings and rewards periodically based on previous activity, while coins and tokens are the value types one earns or qualifies for as a reward. All value types can be exchanged, except points which can only be shared.\n\nCoins are generated by exchanging items, the amount determined by a mock trade across the grid, since these will often be shipped items. The traders are given a choice to accept the generated coins, or to get points instead. If they choose points, the coins go into a reward pot, while the points allow them to receive a proportional amount of coins from that pot, every so many trades on the network. Similarly, tokens and tickets, have the same function on the grid, but they are only available for a limited time.\n\nPotency in the form of coins measures total assets. Potential allows a group of people to pull out of a series of repetitive events or conditions by overcoming the sum of the loss or cost of those situations. Represented as points, potential allows a group to receive periodic earnings or reward that is proportionally worth more than the sum of the users' separate points held. This what we mean when we say points can't be transferred, but can be shared.\n\nThe points represent the potential in the account, whereas coins represent the potency. Potency is simply what the user can create, whereas potential measures the what they can brainstorm together. Potency represented in coins tells us how much there is in an account, but potential in the form of points allows users to form groups and increase their total points to more than their individual points combined. Potency is like combining assets, which are consumed by combining, but potential is like combining ideas, which are not consumed in combination.\n\n* Potential Math and the Grid *\n\nIf 2 people have ideas, A and B, they can create 1 new idea, AB. Now that is the limit, because even though ideas aren't consumed, redundant statement adds no value. AA, BB, AAB, ABB, aren't immediately useful. But if there are 3 people with 3 ideas, there are 3 new ideas possible, AB, AC, and BC.\n\nThe real magic begins when there are 4 or more ideas on the table, because now 6 or more new ideas are possible, AB, AC, AD, BC, BD, and CD. For 5 people, there 10 new ideas possible, while 6 people can bring 15 new ideas. There is going to be a limit to this exploding increase, as it is easier for people who understand ideas AB, AC, and AD to communicate since they all share an understanding of idea A. But they can also combine them in more arrangements such as ABC, ABD, ACD, and BCD to increase familiarity.\n\nEvery transaction on the grid has an incoming amount, an incoming item code, an outgoing amount, and an outgoing item code. The grid will record the exchange rate (received / sent) between the items at the y axis and the inverse exchange rate at the x axis. In between these points, a smooth curve will be projected as a guide. Every point inside the grid will have the average of the neighboring curve values. Each grid will represent some user's economic environment.\n\nAfter some time the blockfield grid will have enough information to represent many transactions. The job of grid workers is to assign a path for installment based transactions to go through. The amount of work necessary to match the curves will depend on the local cost and value of various items in the user's economic environment.\n\n* Tickets and Tokens *\n\nBecause sender and receiver live in entirely different places we treat the coins sent and the coins received as if they were different currencies. Tickets are like points in that they give the holder a limited time to periodically receive tokens however they can be exchanged. Tokens are like coins but can only be spent on specific items. Tickets and tokens can only be acquired by destroying points and coins, so they are no longer part of the currency supply.\n\nTickets and tokens allow grids to be used for all installment based or periodic payments and exchanges such as purchases, subscriptions, loans, investments, employment, gifts, and donations. This also separates transactions for things users desire from transactions for things users need, where coins and points are the larger living economy, while tickets and tokens guarantee are the smaller economy for guaranteeing users have basic necessities.\n\nThe purpose of the blockfield is to move us to a post-scarcity economy. Scarcity is a natural challenge which is abusively amplified by employers and money players so that a large section of society is constantly struggling to make ends meet. There are various ways that scarcity is used to force many people to sacrifice their youth and health for someone else's gain. Some of these methods are direct and abusive while other causes of the same sort of anxieties are indirect and culturally ingrained.\n\nTypically people try to either demand as little interference as possible or to get as much help as possible, the usual market vs government debate. The trouble isn't the fact people in power abuse, but rather the inability of individuals to pull themselves or others out of a difficult situation. The blockfield ledger solves this problem by first allowing the local market environment to be part of the transaction process. In the event of powerful groups making things more difficult, grid workers can intervene by refusing to process transactions despite the larger profit enabled by the abuse.",

body* Independent Buyers and Sellers * The blockfield ledger takes into account the fact that while we may use the same currency, we are not getting the same value out of the currency. You might make more money in a busy city, but your rent is higher. You might pay less in a small town, but jobs are scarce. To have a truly fair system we have to treat the coins buyers spend as if they were independent from the coins sellers receive. Typically when we represent data we have variables at right angles to each other, in an x, y grid. The sender's account would be represented by an initial y value of say 10 coins available and an x value of 0 coins sent. The receiver's account would be represented by a final y value of 0 coins owed and an x value of 10 coins received. The transaction would be a downward diagonal line from the vertical y axis to the horizontal x axis. If we borrow money from a friend, the line will be diagonally straight down have points along the way where we pay the money back. If we borrow from a bank, the path may have less of a slant due to interest payments, or it may even be somewhat curved for an adjustable rate mortgage. Many scenarios can be represented using this grid. Where things get interesting is when we talk about sending coins between users in different areas where the values of various wants and needs are very different. So far the coordinates on the grid still only represent coins transferred and not the actual transfer. If we represent the movement of coins rather than the endpoints, then we're talking about what happens between points on the grid. Specifically, instead of each x coordinate being the sender's remaining debt and y being the receiver's increase, what we do is set a direction and difference at each point. What this allows us to do is combine changes in the market value of coins with the transfer of coins. * Markets and Coin Flows * There's a catch though. It would be deliriously complicated to look at every possible market move in the calculation of value during the transfer of coins. Instead what we want to do is allow users to perform tasks in the context of the transfer which do the calculation for us. Users with local interests and needs would choose to work with items with values they already made decisions about. The way to look at this is a bit like a series of locks for moving ships between different water levels. The difference is the water levels move all the time. Only local users know what anything is worth their time and effort. So it's necessary that they express the value of items so that everyone gets what they're due. Now we come to some technical details. There are the endpoint values for the transfers. There is the curve of the transfer based on interest and fees and so on. There is the actual local value of items which users can express with trading items and performing work. And finally there is the incentive for users to participate in the transfer process. For now the curve of the transfer is the most important. What the user in the grid must do is perform work that moves the grid values so it represents reality accurately. There will be a certain pull from the sender's position to the receiver's position. The grid users will receive a reward based on the intensity of that pull, let's say the profit receiver will make, and this gets combined with changes in the market so the receiver gets what they are due without taking advantage of or abusing the sender.

body**An Economy which Works for Users** A cryptocurrency platform that simply represents the world we already know is just going to recreate that mess in cryptocurrency. We need a currency system that represents our hopes and values so that we don't have to bend over backwards achieving things we all want in common. The question is what do we want to measure, what assets we have, or what we can do together? Banks care about what we can get for them, while most of us care about what we can do. **Meaningful Exchanges Enabling Informed Decisions** As I mentioned in my introduction post, transactions are historical accidents representing nothing but flows without any easily discernible meaning. You might as well be staring at the Matrix code screens and you might catch something if you've been around the system for a while. Unfortunately, a transaction based system is one where the workings are inaccessible to the majority of users and leaves them vulnerable to all kinds of manipulation from experts and gurus, much like how pulp economists and bankers do. Transactions are the machine code of economics where it is a chore to represent higher level concepts with symbols and structures we all recognize. **Context Enhanced Analytics Available To Everyone** What we need is a system where meaning is encoded from the bare metal trades all the way to the shopping list. When we send coins we are expecting something in return or even if happens to be a gift we want someone to benefit from it or enjoy it. So instead of only recording transactions, every entry in the system is an exchange. Now every interaction can provide a sense of the likelihood of other exchanges being worthwhile giving everyone direct access to the same basic information analysts, researchers, pundits, and peddlers spend millions on. **Exchange Based Generation, Installment Based Blockfield** Such a system also needs new kind of record format represents what we actually do with currency and also allows us to discard old and potentially binding information. This is the kind of information that enables one group to economically feed off another perpetually, often backed by shiny purchased unbalanced regulations. To prevent the rise of the same old hierarchies, the need for them, such as risk, scarcity, desperate needs, and perpetual obligations, must be removed from the system. Coins are generated by exchanging items and services, while a new grid based round robin database recording format allows exchanges to be done in installments.

The question is what do we want to measure, what assets we have, or what we can do together? Banks care about what we can get for them, while most of us care about what we can do.\n\n**Meaningful Exchanges Enabling Informed Decisions**\n\nAs I mentioned in my introduction post, transactions are historical accidents representing nothing but flows without any easily discernible meaning. Transactions are the machine code of economics where it is a chore to represent higher level concepts with symbols and structures we all recognize.\n\n**Context Enhanced Analytics Available To Everyone**\n\nWhat we need is a system where meaning is encoded from the bare metal trades all the way to the shopping list. When we send coins we are expecting something in return or even if happens to be a gift we want someone to benefit from it or enjoy it. So instead of only recording transactions, every entry in the system is an exchange. Now every interaction can provide a sense of the likelihood of other exchanges being worthwhile giving everyone direct access to the same basic information analysts, researchers, pundits, and peddlers spend millions on.\n\n**Exchange Based Generation, Installment Based Blockfield**\n\nSuch a system also needs new kind of record format represents what we actually do with currency and also allows us to discard old and potentially binding information. This is the kind of information that enables one group to economically feed off another perpetually, often backed by shiny purchased unbalanced regulations. To prevent the rise of the same old hierarchies, the need for them, such as risk, scarcity, desperate needs, and perpetual obligations, must be removed from the system. Coins are generated by exchanging items and services, while a new grid based round robin database recording format allows exchanges to be done in installments.",
