| body | We all heard the cliche sayings like "listen to your gut" or "I just have a gut feeling..." but do we actually understand what it means to listen to your gut? Because if I'm being honest, I never understood how to. The only thing my gut ever told me is that maybe if you didn't eat that pint of ice cream last night you wouldn't have to unbutton your pants every time you sit down. Well, now that there is a lot more research being done and readily available information on gut health and the community of bacteria living there, I took the opportunity to educate myself on just how much influence our gut health has on our body and thinking minds and it turns out, it plays a MAJOR role in just about every small to a life-changing decision. Knowing this key piece of information should make you think twice before really listening to your gut, however. One day I found myself watching a documentary addressing the micro-organisms that live in our gut and it suddenly became so clear to me how our guts have so much influence on not just how we think and feel about ourselves, but how that could also manifest itself through our outer environment. The good news is if you are unhappy with your environment, living situation, or just your overall health it is possible to change all of it through diet alone. However, it takes an understanding and awareness that the negative outlook about your life or your body is not your own but from the microbiome in your gut. In other words, if they are suffering-you will too. How Gut Bacteria Affects Our Thoughts And Emotions Left pic was taken Jan 2020; Right pic March 2020 This may not come as a surprise to many but for me, it was a bit of shock. It turns out there are over a trillion bacterial cells living in and on our bodies. So much so, that their cells outnumber ours by 10:1 and their bacterial genes contribute about 100x as many genes as our own genome. In other words, they are not OUR bacteria, we are THEIR human. Good bacteria holds valuable information about the outside world and it educates our immune cells when it makes contact. This strengthens our immune response and allows the body to regenerate more efficiently. The gut is like a microbiome made up of millions of bacterial civilizations, some good and bad and depending on what our diet consists of, will determine which ones will thrive. A diet that consists of mostly sugar, junk food, processed foods, and other digested toxins will support an environment of the bacteria we don't want. This food being fed to the wrong bacteria will disturb the immune system leaving it in perpetual inflammation, which is the result of autoimmune diseases, obesity, diabetes, allergies, cancers, and other viral infections. When the good microbial living in the gut lack a diversity of the key nutrient (fiber) then the whole system becomes out of balance. This not only is a detriment to our bodies but it also keeps us emotionally unstable and lacking mental clarity. As I mentioned earlier, we do think and feel with our gut. The gut has the most connections to our brain and it controls our perception and reaction to our environment. A gut with mostly bad bacteria will consume most of your energy leaving you feeling lethargic, anxious, depressed, unmotivated, uninspired, and toxic. Decisions made under these unstable emotional states will manifest in your outer world through your relationships, performance, behaviors, bad habits, body, and lifestyle. So if you are wondering why you attract toxic situations then you might want to start with what toxins you are putting in your body. This is why awareness of self is so important before decision-making because our decisions are based on our thoughts, which are based on our emotions, which are controlled by our gut. The more health-conscious lifestyle you practice the more you naturally become self-aware and find it easier to manifest beauty in your outer world. I used to find it so annoying when people would explain how to manifest your dreams, "think about the dream relationship or job as if it already happened..." Okay, thanks, that is great and all but how do I act as if it is already there when I know it's not? This is where I believe most people give up, well it makes sense then that in order to change our environment, we have to change the internal environment first. Transformation If you want to truly transform, the easiest way for me was through my diet. If our thinking and emotions are primarily controlled by the gut then it makes sense that when we begin to change our diet we can change the bacteria balance in our gut. I thought I had a moderately healthy diet but realized I could still make a lot of better decisions when it came to my diet. There is no doubt that most of us take our daily supplement, exercise a few days a week, or drink our daily green juice in the morning but let's be honest, it's not really doing us any good if we follow up with unhealthy choices that are not supportive of our overall well-being. I'm not saying we need to be 100% healthy, there is no such thing as perfection but the closer we can get to it, the more our bodies will thank us, and each little change you begin to incorporate into your daily life will become a habit and before you know it--you just made it part of your lifestyle. Once you begin incorporating more high fiber food in your diet you are now setting up the environment in your microbiome for the good bacteria, which will begin asking for more of that healthy food. Soon, you won't crave another cigarette, burger, or any other toxins. The thought of it will actually make you sick and that is when you know you changed your gut bacteria and it is now safe to listen to your gut with confidence and be on your way to a complete transformation. The best way to start is with sugar. Almost everything we eat, even food we think is healthy, has added sugar. On average, each American consumes about 150 pounds of sugar a year. Diet foods and beverages are just as worse, if not more because it contains the ingredient ASPARTAME that replaces the sugar but still makes you crave it. This ingredient not only makes you addicted to it so you keep on consuming it, but also kills brain cells. It is found in most sugar-free food, sugar-free yogurt, yogurt drinks, protein drinks, nutritional bars, meal replacements, diet carbonated drinks..so don't be fooled. The next best thing, which is the most obvious, is eliminating junk and processed foods. Nikola Tesla said, "if you want to think in terms of energy, think of vibration and frequency". Everything is made up of energy which means everything has a vibrational frequency. The reason why you feel heavy and discomfort after eating a lot of junk food is that it has a very low vibrational frequency. Anything manmade that is not from nature has a low vibration. The more processed, the lower the frequency. Homemade meals that are rich in nutrients have a much higher frequency and this gives the body energy to heal and regenerate itself. Packaged food with lots of ingredients that you never heard of and can't even pronounce should be kept away. Foods that are highly processed and packaged in the factory or from animals that were probably treated inhumanely also have a very low vibration and are not the kind of information you want to feed to your gut and immune system. Once you begin to incorporate more wholesome foods in your diet and change your bacteria. Not only will this give you more energy but even when you do sneak in a cookie or burger every so often, your immune response will still be stable enough to bring your body into balance with much more ease. If you keep this up long enough you will begin to see changes in your appearance. The skin is the last organ to get the nutrients, so when your skin is looking good then you know your gut is thriving. However, that is not the only change you will see. You will begin to feel different about yourself and the world around you. You will have what people will refer to as a "presence" and move through life with much more grace. The healthier you feel the easier it will be to incorporate more healthy lifestyle changes that you probably never envisioned yourself doing before. I am not saying changes will occur overnight, it all depends on how disciplined you are. It's okay if you slip up every now and then as long as you start over again the next day. The worse thing you can do is beat yourself up about it because then you keep yourself in that negative feedback loop. Forgiveness is key to everything so just be patient with yourself. Monitor your progress and give yourself credit for even the smallest of wins. For example, maybe for the time, you went a whole day without drinking any sugar beverages--that is a win! So pat yourself on the back. Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoyed this and found it informative. I will be posting other follow-up stories explaining many of the concepts mentioned, so stay tuned if you are interested. |

The skin is the last organ to get the nutrients, so when your skin is looking good then you know your gut is thriving. However, that is not the only change you will see. You will begin to feel different about yourself and the world around you. You will have what people will refer to as a \"presence\" and move through life with much more grace. The healthier you feel the easier it will be to incorporate more healthy lifestyle changes that you probably never envisioned yourself doing before.\n\nI am not saying changes will occur overnight, it all depends on how disciplined you are. So pat yourself on the back.\n\nThank you for reading, and I hope you enjoyed this and found it informative. I will be posting other follow-up stories explaining many of the concepts mentioned, so stay tuned if you are interested.\n",

| title | Homemade Fried Wonton |
| body | One of my favorite things to cook is roast chicken, most often Cornish hens to be exact, since I can just pop this poultry into the oven and do other things while it's cooking. Thus, I always keep my eyes out for new cookware, especially roasters. CSN website has over 200 stores, and le Creuset is one of the brands that I like. After making this fried Wonton below, my children decided that they want them more regularly, so I started to look at the frying pan also. The white shell plate, I bought at Thrift Store for 50 cents, and it makes such a wonderful thing to show off my cooking. My ingredients for this yummy wonton are very easy. You Will Need: Wonton wrappers About 24 uncooked shrimps, shelled and removed the vein About 1 ounce of clean pork, or one chicken breast (optional), cut in thin strips White parts of green onions, cut into 1/8 inches thick Oil to fry Preparation: Separate your wonton, set them aside, flat on a plate Use whatever utensil you are comfortable with, and mash the shrimps, pork/chicken, and green onion parts together. Mix well, and season with a dash of pepper and salt. Spoon the mixture onto a wonton wrapper, and shape them however you want Pinch the edges to seal Pour just enough oil to cover the bottom of your frying pan, and bring it up on medium heat. (I don't deep fry my food!) Drop-in your wonton, and check it often. Once the skin of your wonton is golden, turn to fry the other side. Add more oil when needed. Now, you have it, delicious and homemade fried wontons for an appetizer! |

| body | It seemed effortless for a certain type of woman to attract the opposite sex easily, but then there are others that couldn't get a date even though they are equally pretty. Blame it on the pheromones, which are the chemicals that release neurotransmitters to alter the response of the opposite sex, and for which some were naturally inherited. In my opinion, having a successful and happy relationship, the couple must have some mutual chemistry during the courting period. Pheromones came in handy and were proven by scientists as a powerful tool for those that need a little help. If I were in the market for a relationship, I would look for something specially made for women. |

| body | Let's just celebrate the last month of the year, but don't forget to count our blessings. Though it was a very challenging year for me, I still include myself in the lucky poll. I've accomplished many things, and didn't accomplish some, but who is perfect? I learn to gently pat myself on back for getting over the hurdles, and put one foot in front of the other to keep marching. I learn to look for blessings among the chaos. It's almost time to bring in a New Year, thus I wish everyone a fantastic one! Thank you all for following, reading, subscribing, and commenting. You're among my blessings! 1) What kind of superstitious things you do to bring in the New Year? (For me, I open the front door to welcome good spirit in, and open the back door to let bad evils out! Ok, I admit it, I didn't see anything different, just my habit I guess!) 2) Do you go out or celebrate at home? (I stay at home with my sparkle drink, warm and snug to wait for the New Year! No driving for me after dark, old age has left its mark, :-) |

| body | Share As much as one wants to stay uplifting, inspired, and positive; winter in Michigan can put a damper on mood changes. We have more dark, gloomy, cold, and dreary days than solar lights. On these kinds of days, we have no choice but to turn up the heat and the lights. My winter energy bills are something that I am not looking forward to opening, especially the heating bill. It is always a shock to my eyes and my pocket. I have considered switching to a different provider to supply my energy needs for my home, but we are limited to only two companies, and one doesn't offer coverage for my area. It would be a blessing to have choices as this would be such a benefit for consumers, and that no one company could monopolize the market. Private companies that provide energy deregulation for electricity and natural gas services are out there to do just that, giving consumers a cost-effective choice for their needs. When there are more companies in competition, they have no choice but to come up with a better solution to offer their clients, and I can't wait to have the option to save on my energy bills. Right now, I will just have to clench my teeth in paying my heat bill every month. |

| body | Alarming expansion of urban centres at cost of the green cover with their concomitant extravaganza and wasteful consumption of natural resources are the new challenges the millennial society faces. Development cannot be “for” the privileged “at the cost” of the deprived who have as much right to better quality of life. Noting that environment and society have many similarities, meeting the needs of over 1.2-billion people was a major challenge, as fruits of development including food, housing, healthcare, education, jobs and infrastructure, necessarily in the same order, have not reached even 70 percent of the rural Indian masses. Majority of villages and urban areas stare at acute water crisis every summer. Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) being imposed on the backs of the commoners long back notwithstanding, millions remain jobless or underemployed. Almost 50 percent of the children are malnourished despite the implementation of numerous healthcare programmes under the National Rural Health Mission. Sustainable strategies for implementing developmental projects are the only way forward for least adverse environmental impact sans hampering environment. Projects for conservation of natural resources and environment planned without consulting their custodians and addressing problems of the people concerned may not yield fruitful results. Let alone social acceptance for their respective implementation. Policy formulators, judiciary, executive and other stakeholders, including activists need to sit together and think for zeroing down to solutions viable in a democracy that India is. |

| body | Increasing population has placed authorities monitoring the welfare projects in a fix. For increasing population and degrading environment are identified as simultaneous threats. About 26 students were taken ill due to food poisoning after consuming mid-day meal. They were taken to Satyawadi Raja Harish Chandra Hospital. If the hospital authorities are to be believed, the students of Senior Secondary School in Narela complained of abdominal pain. Some of the students have been discharged. The rest are likely to be discharged later in the day, a doctor at the hospital said. Following the development, the Delhi government's Education Department has called a meeting of all midday suppliers in the national capital tomorrow. This is second such incident within a week. Two girls were taken ill after having mid-day meal on Saturday at a Delhi government school in East Delhi's Khichdipur in which a dead lizard was allegedly found. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had on Monday conducted surprise inspection in two kitchens in the city where the meals were being prepared for distribution in schools and warned the workers of strict action if any irregularities were found in future. "The Education Director has called a meeting of all mid-day meal suppliers tomorrow. I have directed that there should be regular monitoring of the kitchens where meals are prepared. If any of them is found not meeting the required standards, their contract will be cancelled," Sisodia told mediapersons. Social Welfare Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam also visited the hospital where the girls were admitted. It may be mentioned here that over 20 children in Bihar's Saran district died of insecticide poisoning after consuming food served under mid-day meal scheme, government agencies seem to have forgotten the serious concern over handling and banning of hazardous chemicals that the tragedy raised. The children of Dharmasati-Gandaman Primary School were served food prepared in cooking oil that had been kept in a can of insecticide, which led to their painful and agonising death. Focus on infrastructure, not health But in Gandaman village where the tragedy occurred, the focus of the district authorities is on providing a new school building, community hall and roads to the village. Nigam Prakash, head of paediatrics department at Patna Medical College and Hospital, who treated the students from Dharmasati-Gandaman Primary School, revealed that the hospital on an average receives five to seven cases of pesticide poisoning among children each week. “There is need for proper handling of pesticide or even banning them,” he said. He also warned that pesticide side-effect is a long term affair. Poisoning by monocrotophos insecticide leads to accumulation of toxin in the fats of children that releases slowly. “It might lead to convulsions even five years after treatment,” he said. More cases of food poisoning Claims of the state government notwithstanding, the incidents of mid-day meal poisoning continue. Altogether 25 children of Sonebarsa Upgraded Middle School in Bihar fell sick after consuming mid-day meal in which a lizard had fallen. Children of Bahadurpur Middle School in Dharbhanga protested after they were served mid-day meal that had worms. |

For increasing population and degrading environment are identified as simultaneous threats.\n\nAbout 26 students were taken ill due to food poisoning after consuming mid-day meal. They were taken to Satyawadi Raja Harish Chandra Hospital. If the hospital authorities are to be believed, the students of Senior Secondary School in Narela complained of abdominal pain.\n\n Some of the students have been discharged. The rest are likely to be discharged later in the day, a doctor at the hospital said.\n\n Following the development, the Delhi government's Education Department has called a meeting of all midday suppliers in the national capital tomorrow.\n\n This is second such incident within a week. Two girls were taken ill after having mid-day meal on Saturday at a Delhi government school in East Delhi's Khichdipur in which a dead lizard was allegedly found.\n\n Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had on Monday conducted surprise inspection in two kitchens in the city where the meals were being prepared for distribution in schools and warned the workers of strict action if any irregularities were found in future.\n\n \"The Education Director has called a meeting of all mid-day meal suppliers tomorrow. I have directed that there should be regular monitoring of the kitchens where meals are prepared. If any of them is found not meeting the required standards, their contract will be cancelled,\" Sisodia told mediapersons.\n\n Social Welfare Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam also visited the hospital where the girls were admitted.\n\nIt may be mentioned here that over 20 children in Bihar's Saran district died of insecticide poisoning after consuming food served under mid-day meal scheme, government agencies seem to have forgotten the serious concern over handling and banning of hazardous chemicals that the tragedy raised.\n\nThe children of Dharmasati-Gandaman Primary School were served food prepared in cooking oil that had been kept in a can of insecticide, which led to their painful and agonising death.\n\nFocus on infrastructure, not health\n\nBut in Gandaman village where the tragedy occurred, the focus of the district authorities is on providing a new school building, community hall and roads to the village.\n\nNigam Prakash, head of paediatrics department at Patna Medical College and Hospital, who treated the students from Dharmasati-Gandaman Primary School, revealed that the hospital on an average receives five to seven cases of pesticide poisoning among children each week.\n\n“There is need for proper handling of pesticide or even banning them,” he said.
