Today's post takes place a little ways outside of the city at the world's oldest and longest teakwood bridge. \n\nU Bein Bridge stretches 1.2 kilometeres across  the Taungthaman Lake. It was built around 1850 and is construced with 1,086 pillars that support the bridge. \n\nWe arrived at the bridge around 4pm in hopes of seeing a nice sunset. \n\nThe bridge was packed with local villagers and visitors from the city.       "body": "Hello my Steemit friends. As you may have noticed from the title, today I am posting four days in one. I am not cheating, I swear. \n\nI spent four amazing days taking part in Thingyan, the Burmese New Year Festival. I spent the first two days in Yangon and then travelled north to the city of Mandalay to experience the celebrations there. \n\nDuring the four days of the festival, everywhere you go people are pouring water on each other. The idea is that the water washes away the sins from the past year and makes you clean for the new year that is about to start. \n\nFrom the moment I left my hostel each morning, I was covered in water. Sometimes it was refreshing, other times it ice cold and made me scream. \n\nBut it was an experience I will never forget. So many happy people celebrating and dancing together. It was difficult to take a lot of pictures without my phone being destroyed from all of the water.       "body": "Hello my Steemit friends! I have some good Wi-Fi so I'm back for another post about my time in Myanamr.\n\nIn my last post I was taking a bus ride back to the city of Yangon. Travel blogs or social media posts tend to showcase all of the exciting things that happen in our lives and leave out all of the spaces in between.\n\nI absolutely love travelling and feel incredibly lucky to be able to have the experiences I do, but there are also many days when absolutely nothing happens. Days of sitting around a hostel reading a book, days where you feel a bit sick and sleep all day, days when the weather is terrible and you are stuck inside,  and days like today, the travel days, waiting at airports, train stations, or sitting for hours on a bus. \n\nIt is time to leave Inle Lake and head back to Yangon. I have taken a couple of long distance buses in Myanmar so far and both have been good experiences. The bus stations, espcially the one in Yangon, are quite chaotic. There is a lot of traffic and each bus company has its own building so it is important to know what company you booked your ticket with! \n\n![20180403_150923.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmegaNV9W2SKDNYHFgbr9Nk26NQf6YjaG4sxXXy2K1QaWA/20180403_150923.jpg)\n\nBut once inside the bus, all is peaceful. Both the buses I have been in have tons of legroom, blankets, free bottles of water, and a small snack. I really enjoy travelling by bus and train so I am happy whenever I find a nice, comfy bus.\n\nSo this boring post is dedicated to all of the boring days!
