I was lucky enough to purchase the majority of my holdings in Cardano at around 2.5 cents when it first launched on Bittrex back in October. I bought my second batch at around 10 cents leaving my average cost per coin at 4 cents. So even though it took a massive hit in January and February, I’m still up and a big believer in the project. &nbsp;</p>\n<p><br>\nWhy am I hodling Cardano? A few main reasons: it’s a protocol based currency, the team and organization, and Charles Hoskinson. &nbsp;<br>\n</p>\n<p>Cardano aims to be a 3rd generation cryptocurrency by improving the existing model of how a cryptocurrency (specifically protocol based currencies) operate. It has three main areas of improvement over the first and second generation currencies: scalabitly, interoperability, and governance. Cardano also allows developers to create new projects on it’s platform using the coding language they are already familiar with, which I think this is a unique and massive incentive for new developers in the space. In addition, the entire team, IOHK (the organization backing Cardano), and Charles Hoskinson (the CEO) are some of the most professional crypto developers out there. &nbsp;</p>\n<h3>Bitcoin&nbsp;</h3>\n<p>Bitcoin is the leading cryptocurrency for so many reason I don’t need to go into. My strategy is to always hold at least 20% of my entire portfolio (crypto and other assets) in Bitcoin. &nbsp;</p>\n<h3>Ripple&nbsp;</h3>\n<p>Ripple gets so much hate and for the life of my I don’t see why. Ripple (Xrp) has a real use case and real rich customers. I really believe it has the potential to be a $10 coin sooner than most think. The reasons for thinking this is that Xrapid, which is the protocol where banks use the Xrp token, is currently in the test phase for some seriously massive banks and global remittence services including Monygram, Western Union, Woori bank in Korea, SBI, and a few more. If the tests are successful and these companies decide to use Xrp as a means of improving international payments, the upside for Xrp is massive. &nbsp;</p>\n<h3><br>\nIcon&nbsp;</h3>\n<p>I’m so upset with myself because I missed Icon’s ICO by a matter of minutes. I came across the project for the first time when it had a few days left on its ICO and I was going to invest but stuff happened and it slipped my mind :( . &nbsp;Anyway, I managed to pick up some when it first listed on Binance and I traded some other coins (Vertcoin and Substratum) for more right before it exploded in late December. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p><br>\nThe reasons for investing in Icon (Icx)t are really similar to Cardano. In addition, I believe this protocol based currency from Korea has the potential to have a massive impact on the Korea market. I actually live in Seoul and I’m witness to the speed of innovation and acceptance of new technologies on a daily basis. Icon already has partnerships with local universities, hospitals, government offices, and many more in Korea. I’m also speculating that in the very near future the Korean government will remove its blanket ban on ICOs in the country, which, in turn, will allow new Korean crypto projects to begin developing. I have a strong feeling they’ll opt for Icon as their platform of choice.<br>\n<br>\n<br>\nOk, so that’s brief summary of my portfolio and why I’m hodling these coins. When deciding to live in a new country, you’ll need to adjust to new foods, cultural norms, and everyday routines. For many, life in Korea offers a unique and fun experience. &nbsp;If you are thinking of traveling in Korea, take a look below to see some of the cultural differences I found really interesting.</p>\n<p><strong>1. “How old are you?”</strong></p>\n<p>This is a question you’re likely to get asked a lot. The reason for this is that Korean society has been heavily influenced by Confucianism, which places emphasis on hierarchy; age is one way to determine hierarchy. In Korea older people get more respect in many areas of life and the language younger Koreans use to their elders is mostly very formal—in fact it is considered rude to use informal language to someone older than you. So, when someone asks you the question ‘how old are you?’ they are likely just determining how to talk to you in the appropriate way.</p>\n<p><strong>2. Shoes</strong></p>\n<p>Taking your shoes off when going inside. In most cases, this is expected. Schools, homes, and restaurants sometimes&nbsp;require it. At most places you can leave your shoes at the entrance and put on slippers before entering. There are slippers everywhere!&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>3. Dress Code in Work</strong></p>\n<p>Be careful wearing shirts that show your upper chest or shoulders, especially when in work. Many of the older generation consider this to be inappropriate.</p>\n<p><strong>4. Two Hands</strong></p>\n<p>It is polite to accept and give money with two hands.</p>\n<p><strong>5. Drinking at Social Gatherings</strong></p>\n<p>Drinking is a big part of the culture in Korea—even at school functions. You can of course politely say no, but you should expect to see others drinking often.</p>\n<p><strong>6.&nbsp;The Number Four</strong></p>\n<p>The number four is considered unlucky as is sounds very similar to the Chinese word for <em>death</em>. When getting in an elevator, you may notice that some buildings don’t even have a fourth floor; they skip the number completely or use the letter ‘F’ instead.</p>\n<p><strong>7. Dressing up</strong></p>\n<p>Koreans love to dress well and take pride in their personal appearance. You rarely see a poorly dressed person in the street.</p>\n<p><strong>8.&nbsp;Hand Gestures</strong></p>\n<p>Don’t call a cab by flagging them down with your palm up. Most consider this to be rude as it’s an action that is done when calling a dog over. The polite way is to&nbsp;place your palm face down when directing a cab to stop by.</p>\n<p><strong>9.&nbsp;Tipping</strong></p>\n<p>You don’t have to tip. In Korean culture, good service is to be expected and doesn’t have to be rewarded with a tip. While you may want to leave behind a token of your appreciation, it’s not necessary.</p>\n<p><strong>10. Eating</strong></p>\n<p>When&nbsp;possible try not to refuse food. Even if you’re full or not interested, you might want to give it a try just to show that you care.</p>\n<p><strong>11. Paying the Bill</strong></p>\n<p>Elders usually offer to pay when you go out to eat. This is great if your the youngest in the group (like me!). I try to make it up to my 'elders' by buying them coffee the next time I see them.</p>\n<p><strong>12. Toilet Paper</strong></p>\n<p>Toilet paper is not flushed in many parts of Korea. Instead, expect to place it in a bin next to the toilet. This may take some getting used to.</p>\n<p><strong>13. Holidays</strong></p>\n<p>Be prepared for some quirky holidays. For example, on April 14, Black Day is celebrated. On this day, singles get together to share a meal. Typically, jajangmeyon a noodle dish with black sauce is eaten.</p>\n<p><strong>14.&nbsp;Red Tape</strong></p>\n<p>Expect a process of official approval. So let’s get to it! &nbsp;<br>\n</p>\n<p>Today’s ICO under review is <a href=\"www.crypto20.com\"><strong>Crypto20</strong></a>. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<h3>What is Crytp20 and what’s their mission?</h3>\n<p>Cypto20 is to be the first tokenized cryptocurrency index fund. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Just in case you are totally new to investing, and don’t know what an index fund it. An index fund basically tracks a market. So this means that you don’t have to pick individual companies to invest in, you can invest a large amount of these companies through an index fund. Index funds are usually for passive investors who don’t have the time to research and select individual companies to invest in. Essentially when you invest in an index fund you are buying the haystack instead of looking for the needle, the needle being the one or two companies that are going to make it big. As the famous quote goes, “Don’t look for the needle in the haystack, just buy the haystack!” &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p>So, that’s what Crypto20 is aiming to be: An index fund for Cryptocurrencies. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p>This project is the first tokenized cryptocurrency index fund, which tracks the top 20 cryptocurrencies by market cap autonomously using blockchain technology. When you buy the Crypto20 token, known as CR20, you are essentially investing in the top 20 cryptocurrencies. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p>As their website states, owning a diverse crypto-portfolio is now as easy as holding a single token.Which is pretty awesome, in my opinion. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p>They go on to state that there are literally thousands of coins / tokens available now for investors to choose from and this choice is paralyzing. And I totally agree with this. We simply we don’t know or no one truly knows what is going to happen in the future. We simply just don’t know which cryptocurrency projects will succeed or not. &nbsp;</p>\n<p>So it is basically simpler and safer to hold all of the top coins than pick a few projects to invest in. So what this shows me is that this is a team which gets things done quickly and I can’t stress how important that is. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<h3>Potential Return on Investment (Based on the charts from 2016 &amp; early 2017)</h3>\n<p>The last thing I want to look at is the returns that could have been made last year if the CR20 Token was available and these returns are simple insane. If the CR20 Token was around and you invested 10,000 dollars on the 1st on June, by August 16th that would have been worth 317,000 dollars! Wow. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p>There is a little &nbsp;little toggle on their home page which you can play around with to check the returns based on last year’s charts. Have fun with that. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<h3>Final Thoughts</h3>\n<p>As an investor, I am very excited about this project and I am certainly considering getting involved. So let’s get to it! &nbsp;<br>\n</p>\n<p>Today’s ICO under review is <a href=\"www.crypto20.com\"><strong>Crypto20</strong></a>. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<h3>What is Crytp20 and what’s their mission?</h3>\n<p>Cypto20 is to be the first tokenized cryptocurrency index fund. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Just in case you are totally new to investing, and don’t know what an index fund it. An index fund basically tracks a market. So this means that you don’t have to pick individual companies to invest in, you can invest a large amount of these companies through an index fund. Index funds are usually for passive investors who don’t have the time to research and select individual companies to invest in. Essentially when you invest in an index fund you are buying the haystack instead of looking for the needle, the needle being the one or two companies that are going to make it big. As the famous quote goes, “Don’t look for the needle in the haystack, just buy the haystack!” &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p>So, that’s what Crypto20 is aiming to be: An index fund for Cryptocurrencies. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p>This project is the first tokenized cryptocurrency index fund, which tracks the top 20 cryptocurrencies by market cap autonomously using blockchain technology. When you buy the Crypto20 token, known as CR20, you are essentially investing in the top 20 cryptocurrencies. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p>As their website states, owning a diverse crypto-portfolio is now as easy as holding a single token.Which is pretty awesome, in my opinion. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p>They go on to state that there are literally thousands of coins / tokens available now for investors to choose from and this choice is paralyzing. And I totally agree with this. We simply we don’t know or no one truly knows what is going to happen in the future. We simply just don’t know which cryptocurrency projects will succeed or not. &nbsp;</p>\n<p>So it is basically simpler and safer to hold all of the top coins than pick a few projects to invest in.
