      "body": "![moving averages.gif](https://steemitimages.com/DQmXr5bNiHL9MtkExLn5NZ3k7iMaV1CUPBnG3mLXg5bA5Zn/moving%20averages.gif)\nwe will discuss three types of moving averages and  how to\nuse moving averages to identify the\ndirection of a trend how they can be\nused to enter an Exit trade and\nfinally how to trade moving average\ncrossovers to determine the direction of\na trend using a moving average you must\ntake into account the set time period we\ntouched on this briefly in the last\nvideo where we showed you the most\ncommonly used time periods when\nanalyzing short term midterm and long\nterm trends but why is it important to\nbe aware of the time period of the\nmoving average in this chart where we\nplace a 20 period simple moving average\nby clicking the indicator icon and\nsetting the time period to 20 we can\nclearly see that it indicates an uptrend\nyet when we place a 60 period simple\nmoving average in the same way we see\nthat it shows the price in a range with\nno clear upward or downward trend the\ndifference in the direction of the trend\nportrayed by the moving average is due\nto the time period shorter period moving\naverages are faster at generating\nsignals and changes in the price of the\ninstrument will be reflected more\nquickly the longer period moving average\nwill react to price changes much more\nslowly but will generally provide more\nreliable trading signals as a trader\nmoving averages will help you decide\nwhich way to trade by looking at whether\nthe price is above or below the moving\naverage line in this chart the price is\nabove the moving average line and acts\nthe support you could buy and enter a\nlong position when the price pulls back\nto the moving average line you could\nthen place your stop-loss underneath the\nmoving average\nhere we can see the opposite the price\nis below the moving average and acts as\nresistance you could then enter a sell\norder when the price retraces to the\nmoving average line and place your\nstop-loss above the moving average the\ninteresting thing about moving averages\nis that they can be used alone or in\ncombination with other moving averages\nso when you place two moving averages on\none chart with different periods\nreflecting a short-term and a\nlonger-term trend in price you have the\nopportunity to trade moving average\ncross overs they can be used to\ndetermine when a trend has changed\ndirection let's show you what we mean on\na daily chart for the pound US dollar we\nwill now place a 10 period simple moving\naverage and a 20 period simple moving\naverage when a short appeared moving\naverage crosses above a longer period\nmoving average you can signal that the\ntrend is changing direction to the\nupside and it may be a good time to buy\nwhen a shorter period moving average\ncrosses below a longer period moving\naverage this is considered bearish a\nsignal that the trend may be changing\ntowards the downside and it may be a\ngood time to sell no matter which two\ntime periods you use this principle will\nremain the same to recap a moving\naverage is a lagging indicator that can\nhelp filter out the noise from random\nprice movements to see the average value\nit can help identify the trend direction\ndetermine support and resistance levels\nand can help confirm a trend reversal\nwhen looking at moving average\ncrossovers it is important to understand\nthe differences between the types of\nmoving averages and how to tailor the\ntime period to best fit the trend being\nfollowed in order to gain the maximum\nbenefit from this indicator\nthank you for reading this tutorial on",

But people just want to search a trading setup on Google, follow a line and make money, and they will get mad at you if you come with this truth at them.
