      "body": "I am NOT special. Not at all. That's something I've had to make peace with when I got a taste of grown-up life. And yet, I still want to believe that some things about me are not that ordinary. Every time I remember fragments of my past, I feel like I actually got some stories to tell. \n\nAnyway, this is just a list of things I value about myself. Frankly, I just want to feel a tiny bit better about myself than I feel now. \n\nReady or not, here I go:\n\n* I started writing an anonymous diary on the Internet when I was 15.  After 10 years, I had over 900 pages of thoughts and an honest following of like-minded people. Sadly, the website is not up anymore, but I still have everything on my computer. \n* Back in the day I've been diagnosed with clinical depression and severe alcoholism. After 7 years of endless misery, I got myself out of it. It's been two years since I've conquered my weaknesses. Sort of.\n\n* I made a some questionable, spontaneous decisions in my life that put me way out of my comfort zone. Like, for example, dropping everything and leaving my country for Cyprus. To work in a bar. As a waiter. This was the hardest, yet most epic and completely crazy years of my life. I did things and saw things you wouldn't believe. It made me so strong. I came to realize what I'm capable of and how tough I can be in extreme situations. That's how I became a warrior.\n\n* After two years of living a nightlife, I dropped everything again and went for a 1000-mile pilgrimage in Spain. That's where I fell in love with life for the first time. Sadly, that's also where I was betrayed by a loved one.\n\n* I went from journalist to finance analyst->marketing coordinator->waiter->content creator and some minor jobs in between. I still don't know what I want to do because I get bored very quickly. \n\n* I learned not to expect anything from love. Even though I am now comfortable with the idea that love is too fragile, I'm pretty sure I've never stopped loving that one person. It's been nearly 10 years now.\n\nBut most importantly, I realized that there are no more low points in my life anymore.  I've been at the bottom already, more times that I would like to admit. But the future is bright, I'm sure of it. I can feel it in my gut. \n\nOr maybe that's just cryptocurrency fever speaking to me. \n\nOne way or another, I intend to make this list way bigger. After all, I am my own man now. And I can't help but dream big.\n\nIf it got me here, I will get me anywhere.",

      "body": "When you can‘t write, you can‘t. And there are millions, billions of reasons for it. For example, laziness. For example, knowing that probably nobody will ever read your stuff. Or the belief that you‘re not as good as you think you are so you do not have an obligation to poison everyone‘s mind with your bulls**t.\n\nYes, whining about things you can‘t do is a chronical and stupid disease that nobody knows how to cure. What is the difference between those people? I don‘t know. Sincerely, I don‘t. Maybe in creativity, like in reality, only the strongest survive (though, in my opinion, the theory of selection doesn‘t work in these comfortable times we live in). That‘s why only a selective group of people that have enough determination and motivation can enjoy the benefits of sharing their work with others. Maybe those people have some inherent properties that help them manage stress and self-doubt to a certain level that they can finish their work in the way they see it in their heads.  \n\nI also believe that some people are driven exclusively by their success which is the biggest motivation to continue the work. For them, not creativity but the knowing that they are good at what they are doing is what drives them further, attention from others and those sweet sweet yields of fruits they are able to enjoy. But not every person can be as successful. What do others suppose to do then? The ones that are left behind the line of succession? Try again? Bang the head against the wall until the massive hole will appear and a ray of sunshine starts shining brightly in your face?\n\nThe creativity and, overall, creative work requires such a massive amount of efforts it‘s hard to describe it with words. It is a gruesome inner fight that is too hard to watch, so you turn the blind eye to it. Can this fight be a little bit simpler? Can we turn this fight into a diplomatic discussion where everyone just peacefully discusses the creative process and decides which word should lay down on a paper, which note should reach the audience‘s ears and so on?\n\nI‘m not a very empathetic person, but at first, I was sincerely sorry for those who create art knowing that they do it for themselves only. Unsung heroes that buried their work in the flow of trashy information. In a place where everybody wants to be heard, but you‘re just a boy selling cookies in a huge supermarket during the endless Black Friday.  \n\nI believe that all of these creators should reconcile the fact that creativity is for yourself first, not the others, that maybe nobody ever will see what you did, or will never appreciate what came from your heart as you do. But maybe it is not such a bad thing. Maybe the purest art comes from knowing that nobody will ever care about it.\n\nWhat is the point then? \n\nMaybe there is none. Or maybe the meaning hides in the emotion you feel when you realize that you did what you wanted to do. The feeling you get when you can‘t find a way how to make it even better and you know you did all you could, you‘re finished. Maybe that‘s where the secret of creation hides. It is in you. The way you satisfy your hungry soul, the way you calm yourself down or maybe learn something about yourself, or about the thing you love to do the most when nobody ever asked you to do it in the first place. \n\nEven if it doesn‘t sound as much, it is something. And what happens with the art you created, we already know. But in the information age that shouldn‘t stop you from creating, because being unheard is the new norm of the century. \n\nCreate for yourself and for your closest ones. Be happy that you are able to create in the first place, that you have some sort of a gift. Just don‘t get disappointed if you‘re the only one who appreciates it. \n\nWe are too many. We are too loud. It is normal. \n\nEnjoy the journey.",

      "body": "I grew up with video games, like most of the millennials. Now I miss it a lot because on my way to adulthood it wasn't so easy to find time for playing or money for good enough gear to try out some amazing titles. Not only that, when I was a child, it seemed more mythical. Games motivated me, inspired me, and gave me wisdom and knowledge about certain topics like history, strategy, storytelling, or even relationships with other people.\n\nBut suddenly, you’re 26 years old and you’re not getting impressed that easily. You start noticing details and imperfections that bother you. You carry enough baggage and experience to evaluate and compare games, but not enough time and patience to enjoy them. You become much more selective about your choices, because you don't want to and can’t waste time and energy on something you’re not able to enjoy. \n\nNonetheless, I can’t let it go. Even if I’m not a hardcore player anymore, or don’t have a decent computer to enjoy these grand games, I still try and find time to relax or challenge myself in front of a screen. Much less than before, but passion is still there, even though it’s very simple and chill like I’m married for 50 years. There’s still love, but just a bit different, slower and more mature.\n\nIn time, I learned to appreciate this slow gaming pace, though I wish I were a child again so I could just spend my summers without a care in front of my Sega Genesis or PC. Actually, I talked about that in my older post called [Influence of Video Games: Precious Experiences (Part I)]( https://steemit.com/gaming/@vilius/influence-of-video-games-precious-experiences-part-i), if you feel like checking it out.\n\nFor those who feel the same way, I suggest you try games that challenge your mind instead of your reflexes. Personally, I really enjoy titles like Hearthstone or The Elder Scrolls: Legends. Those are well crafted online card games for every type of player. If you want to game a friendly match, you got it. If you want a challenge of climbing the ranks, you can do that. You want the arena, no problem. Even if you want to go solo and have some fun playing against smartass AI, you are more than welcome.\n\nSpeaking of Hearthstone, I'm amazed by their recent solo adventures that are completely brilliant and, most important, free of charge, no questions asked. They are so different in gameplay and so beautifully made it's incredible. What is even more incredible is inexhaustible replay value. And you don’t have to spend a single dime for 100-200 hour quality content that relentlessly keeps your mind sharp and focused. Can’t say a lot about it, because it’s been awhile since I logged in, but the last time I’ve played it I was pleasantly surprised. The game had different, never seen before mechanics that involve two separate lanes for battling, it was well balanced and had its own well-crafted lore about The Forgotten Hero who pretended to be an Emperor in order to lead The Imperial Army to victory. And you get to be that Forgotten Hero. I doubt the lore is canon in The Elder Scrolls universe, but it is still cool.  \n\nMaybe it is worth checking out.
