      "body": "Dwayne Wade is arguably an top 5 shooting guard of all time.  His career is fantastic and Hall of Fame worthy no doubt.  He is having a good year as an 6th man for the Miami Heat averaging 14 points and 4 assists per game.  Many believe he has at least two more years left in him, but Wade has admitted that this is his final year as an NBA player.  Last night was special for the NBA star as he hit an uncanny game winner to defeat the World Champion Golden State Warriors.  The Heat were up 20 plus points in the first half, but the Warriors came storming back in the second half to take the lead in the final moments of the 4th quarter.  With the game clock coming to an end, Waiter's passes the ball to Dwayne at the top of the perimeter.  Wade pump fakes his first defender and shoots but is blocked.  Although he was block, Wade recovers the basketball and shoots off his wrong foot (right leg) and banks in the game winner.  Kevin Durant and the Warriors were crushed momentarily, but later on you could tell they were happy for the future Hall of Famer.  Wade gave his former foe, Kobe Bryant, some credit for laying the ground for hitting such an tough shot.  Another special moment in the many chapters of his amazing career.       "body": "The NBA All Star weekend was full of excitement and familiar faces.  From Michael Jordan to Lebron James, the stadium was full of celebrity and pro athletes alike.  But one rare face and name stood out from the crowd.  That name was Muggsy Bogues.  Bogues is a once in a life time talent.  Why you ask?  Bogues stood at 5 feet, three inches tall and played 14 seasons in the NBA.  That's right, an small NBA player played 14 years in a \"BIG\" man's league.  Very impressive I must say.  This accomplishment says a lot about Muggsy Bogues character and mindset.  Throughout his childhood and adult life, Bogues has always faced doubts of being an successful NBA player.  He was told he wasn't tall enough to make it, yet last in the NBA.  Bogues never succumb to the pressure and doubt.  He went on to play college basketball at Wake Forest before being drafted by the Washington Bullets with the 12th pick of the 1987 NBA draft.  \n\n   After a slow rookie season with the Bullets, Muggsy was selected in the expansion draft by the Charlotte Hornets.  In Charlotte, Bogues became one of the best passers and stealer of the basketball in the league.  His quickness and speed became an nightmare for opposing players.  Bogues also averaged an amazing double-double (10 points and 10 assists per game) in 1993.  His success (along with Larry Johnson and Alonzo Mourning) help propel the Charlotte Hornets into an playoff contender and one of the popular teams in the NBA. Opposing players would always have to protect the ball at all times because if not, Mookie could steal it and off to the races.  Blaylock averaged an amazing 2 steals per game for his NBA career.  Impressive for an small NBA point guard.  He was a solid scorer averaging nearly 14 points per game and a good passer as well (nearly 7 assists per game).       "body": "Kevin Garnett was a very talented NBA player.  He could play multiple positions (SF/PF/C) and was very good in the post/mid range area (shooting nearly 50% from the field).  He was a good defender (Defensive Player of the Year in 2008), especially from the weak side.  Rebounding the basketball was never an issue with Garnett (averaging 10 rebounds per game).  Kevin's skill set was very unique and special.  You rarely seen a player at 6' 11\" that could do a lot things on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.  Was Kevin a good teammate and role model?  Hmmm, maybe not in my opinion.  BUT, one thing I always respected about him was - His unique passion for the game.  Garnett might start fights sometimes, he might share some harsh words here or there.  But no matter what, he always wanted to win (NBA Champion with the Celtics in 2008).  That I can't deny.       "body": "In the beginning of an NBA game, most people are use to each team starting out a little slow.  Most teams are trying to build around their game plan and see how the opposing team responds as the quarter progresses.  But not last night.  The Golden State Warriors scored an NBA record 51 points in the 1st quarter.  That right.  Fifty one points in the first quarter (10 three pointers).  The Warriors hit 19 of 25 shots from the field, finishing the quarter 51-38 over the Nuggets heading in the the 2nd quarter. Kevin Durant scored 17 points, Curry scored 12 and Klay had 13 (all in the first quarter).  I never thought I would see the day, especially in an NBA game.  The Golden State Warriors, when at their best, are a serious threat to any NBA team. The Warriors won 142-111 against the Nuggets.       "body": "Many will tell you that this season is one of the toughest seasons the Patriots have had in a long time.  Injuries, mental health issues, father time, team-chemistry the list goes on and on.  Edelman is recovering from an leg injury (2017-18 injury).  Rob Gronkowski is a shell of himself (multiple career injuries).  Tom Brady is getting old (41 years old).  Josh Gordon is out for the rest of the season (mental health reasons).  The defense is the worst it has been ever in the Bill Belichick's Era.  With that said, another New England Patriots' trip to the AFC Championship Game.  The Patriots defeated the Chargers 41-28.  Tom Brady threw for 348 yards and one touchdowns.  Julian Edelman caught 9 balls for 151 yards.  Philip Rivers threw for 331 yards, 3 touchdowns and one interception in a Chargers loss.  The Patriots use the running game to gain momentum early and Tom Brady took over from there.  Sony Michel lead the Pats in rushing with 129 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns.  Wow, the Patriots have made it to 8 straight AFC Championship games. You have to respect how Tom and the Patriots do it year in and year out. Not easy to do at all. Kudos to the Chargers for a great season. The Patriots are once again, one game away for a trip to the SuperBowl.  So who you got?       "body": "No Lebron James, no problem.  The Lakers played against the Detroit Pistons last night in LA.  Everyone is wondering who will help the Lakers win games without their superstar (Lebron) and key veteran point guard (Rondo).  James has been out of the Lakers' lineup since Christmas Day (against the Warriors) with a groin injury.  Well one second year player answer the call.  Kyle Kuzma played an amazing game scoring 41 points in a victory over the Detroit Pistons. He shot 16-24 scoring 41 points (5-10 from three point range).  Kyle's teammate Micheal Beasley pitched in with 19 points as well.  Pistons' forward Blake Griffin scored a team high 16 points in the lost.  Nice to see him have an career night with just his second NBA season.       "body": "What is perseverance?  The definition is \"steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty\".    Well most can say that for nearly all professional athletes.  But some athletes have a harder roads to travel then others.  Michael Adams is one of those athletes.  He was told that he would not be good enough to make the NBA (played 11 season).  He was to short (5'10\").  His shooting form is questionable (36% from 3 in 1988).  Not good enough to make the All-Star team (An All-star in 1991).  He wouldn't be a good scorer (Average 26 ppg in 1990).  Adams has been doubted his whole basketball career.  No matter what, Michael continued to prove his haters wrong to have an successful NBA career.  He finish his NBA career averaging nearly 15 points per game and 6 assists (84% free throw shooter).       "title": "The Rise and Fall of Josh Gordon!",
      "body": "Life has it shares of ups and downs.  Some days are good and some are bad.  No matter who you are, everyone has experience this.  Regardless of this fact, we must continue to do our best to enjoy the life we have.  Why am I saying this?  Josh Gordon is a very talented wide receiver for the New England Patriots.  Many believe he has Hall of Fame talent and could become one of the best WRs of his era.  Gordon has shown flashes of greatness throughout his NFL career.  He has had a 1600 yard receiving season (lead the NFL in receiving 2013).  He has made the NFL's Pro Bowl (2013) and was a NFL's first team All-Pro selection.  But sadly, Josh's career hasn't been consistent year in and year out.  Why you ask?\n\nhttps://i.postimg.cc/v8WjpQ9K/josh-gordon.jpg\n\n  Josh has been suspended multiple times for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.  Yesterday (12/20/2018) was no different as the NFL suspended Gordon again for the same violation.   As humans, we are not perfect and we make mistakes.  But this is not just a mistake but a huge problem that Gordon must over come to reach his full potential.  Gordon thanked the Patriots and his fans for their support this season.  He stated that he has decided to step away from football to get his life together.  I sincerely hope that he put all his focus into getting healthy and making the best choices for his future.  As it stands, Gordon's NFL future is in trouble.  This might be the last time we see him in an NFL uniform.  I hope this isn't true, but it is very possible.  Nevertheless, his life is more important and that should be his goal moving forward.       "title": "Tony Allen - An Offensive Player's Nightmare!",
      "body": "Many say defenders are a rare find in the history of the NBA.  Although that could be true, a few gems do come along in each era.  In recent years, one of the best defenders in my opinion is Tony Allen.  The Grindfather (Tony's nickname) was a tenacious defender.  He enjoyed playing against the opposing team's best player night in and night out.  From Kobe Bryant to Kevin Durant, Allen was up to the challenge.  He was the driving force behind those blue collar 2010s Grizzlies' teams.  He was a good finisher at the rim and played hard every game.  A six-time NBA All-Defensive Team member, Tony won an NBA championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008. I guess there is truth to the phase \"Defense wins championships\".
