When fear becomes and irrational part of our lives it can express itself in unhealthy ways, such as phobias which by definition is an irrational fear of something.\n\nPhobias can be debilitating to those suffering from them and are at one end of the extreme on the scale of fear, where it prevents us from being able to do anything, at the other extreme is a lack of fear , leading us to take much higher risks than necessary. Higher risk taking behavior can be associated with problematic gambling, higher rates to car accin=dents and much more. \n\nwhat we see in these examples is that at both ends of the extremes fear is an issue for decision making and human interaction. What you see and experience by the five primary senses -- and your mind's interpretation -- is, in actuality, not what's really there, or occurring. There are increasing volumes of science and practical evidence that explore this. That's not the concern.\n\nTo awaken, empower, and enlighten someone, telling them \"none of this is real, and you're kinda gullible for believing it\", is perhaps a little counterproductive. \"You can heal your maladies with thought alone! Why are you choosing to suffer?\" Yeah, not helpful.\n\nThere is absolutely no doubt about the veracity of psychosomatic processes, and there are numerous ways to go about reversing damage, and restoring healthy flow.\n\nThere is absolutely no doubt that there's a hell of a lot more going on around us than meets the cornea, lens, rods, cones, receptors, and optical nerves of the eye.\n\nBut,we're here, now, to heal the rifts, to bridge the gaps, and to color in the voids. We don't achieve this any more easily by fostering cognitive dissonance, or self-abasement.\n\nIt always comes back to the feels. Before the mind has a chance to qualify, quantify, and solidify a notion, behind the grand mirror is understanding. We will all experience this expansive perspective whether in glimpses, or the occasional flicker in the matrix, or we will engage in a practice that allows us the means to peel back the veil.\n\nMediation can be a contemplative event, or it can be an act of unraveling the mystical. It can take a lifetime, or it can happen in a single breath. The illusion, perhaps, is that it needs to be difficult, or forced, or anything more than simple surrender.\n\nThe pain, the struggle, and the perception is valid. It serves us, to a degree. The perspective, however, could serve to alleviate suffering with the smallest of shifts.\n\nWhat if it is an illusion? You can see the evidence everywhere: how we treat ourselves; how we consciously and unconsciously control and manipulate each other; how we raise our kids; how we treat employees; how we need lawyers; how we troll on social media, and how the vast majority of snap judgment is biased toward the negative and fearful.\n\nIt's a chronic issue in our society. When a culture can more easily believe in inequity, imbalance, injustice, inequality, and powerlessness, it proliferates an atmosphere of distrust, cynicism, competition, and violence.\n\nYet fear is not the absence of love. The energies are not mutually exclusive. We're simply more accustomed to fear, than we are to deep, universal love.\n\nFear is a means; a gauge; a road sign that to the awake and aware is an opportunity for greater understanding and spiritual expansion. It's the added weight of emotional attachments, and the internalized meanings we ascribe to fear that clog up our organic mechanism.\n\nWe get stuck in our heads, and as we persist towards panic and anxiety, that faculty shuts down. We're reliant on instinct and our most primitive, childish programming -- and if that area is laden with trauma and wounding, we will act and behave as the worst version of ourselves. We will have need for escapism, just to get back into our heads, never mind elevating beyond.\n\nI would wager that most of us exist primarily in our minds, only occasionally dipping into the heart center, thus disregarding our spiritual brain. In fact, much of the intelligence that flows from the energy centers throughout our bodies (when functioning well) are vastly misused.\n\nThis can, of course, be rectified.\n\nI think a broader reaching consciousness is emerging, and we can all help move things along toward a universal awakening by doing the work: become aware of your unaddressed emotional wounds and unprocessed traumas; reduce exposure to fear-mongering media streams (you know, be aware, but don't soak in it); reconnect with your \"why\" in life; move your body, move your energy, move your emotions, challenge your notions; shake it up!\n\nGuidance and inspiration are ever-present. Even an atheist has to believe that others are theists...and most of humanity leans toward an appreciation of some kind of elevated or unifying consciousness, whether intrinsic, extrinsic, or somewhere in the middle.\n\nI find the idea of organized religion rather specious. I also think we're not at a level of consciousness and emotional maturity to really grasp the depth of what is meant by and written in spiritual texts. And, obviously, many original ideas and accounts have been distorted or omitted throughout the ages by massive egos, big agendas, and small penises...er, minds.\n\nBeyond that, our use of language is at best spurious and inadequate in these arenas. It's amusing to consider that creation and evolution are mutually exclusive. These days we have the holographic perspective, epigenetics, quantum physics, emergence theory, and mounting evidence that they are all useful expressions in exploring our fantastic little slice of reality in this version of spacetime.\n\nThe world of today is maturing toward inclusion and interdependence. The need to maintain dissolution, separation, polarity, and duality, only promotes continued dysfunction and disintegration. It is adolescent in notion to argue simply from the perspective of psychological and egoic constructs. I would say very few who are passionate about their beliefs have enough substance to truly justify their position; the exclusion-by-ignorance principle is simply not good enough. And, the louder you scream, I have found, the weaker your stance.\n\nFaith that begets any violence, ill will, or judgement is not faith at all. It's fear. The more extreme, the farther from the spirit of your beliefs you have strayed.\n\nI know my positions and arguments are incomplete. I know there is no way I will finish this journey of consciousness exploration. That, and the opportunity to pursue their interests and aspirations -- for their own actualization and for the betterment of humanity -- should be considered a bare minimum in today's world.\n\nAnything else is simply bullshit.\n\nThe capitalist system is heavily biased toward those individuals and entities who: understand the rules of the game, care to partake in the game, are usually willing to use planetary and human resources to achieve their ends (under the guise of career, and industry, and the ever-ambiguous \"progress\") and are primarily concerned with material gains.\n\nThe whole system is designed around the idea of money; we're conditioned to believe we need to sell our time, energy, and effort to earn the right to live... to earn a living. What a disgusting distortion of reality! Yet, with every dollar we spend and rely on, we choose to perpetuate the madness, and we most certainly feel trapped in within it.\n\nTechnology will continue to disrupt and displace the work force in many areas of industry. Computers and machines can work tirelessly, for free, won't show up late, get sick, or need vacations. They won't need unions or medical coverage. They don't need money. We can all be laborers, but we no longer have to be. We can choose to work, or not. We can specialize (apprentice, train, or take months, years, or decades to master something), or not.\n\nBut we should always be able to eat, sleep soundly, learn about what interests us, explore the world (inner and outer) and feel safe.\n\nIn the current climate, we cannot even pursue love, romance, and family without the preconditions of financial considerations, when accounting for notions of providing and stability and hearth and home. Somehow, this has inadvertently severed us from our neighbors and community. It's all so forced and superficial. Lock your doors!\n\nIt is wholly unnatural, and of course it destroys the delicate fabric of our emotional and spiritual states. Of course it does. It is mechanistic, heartless, desensitized, and inorganic.\n\nIt must be allowed to evolve. We have argued around the periphery for centuries, yet here we still remain; 2018, and people still have a choice, or lack thereof, that sees them sleeping in their own filth under a bridge... while the soon-to-be automated trucks and trailers move cargo to Walmarts, Costcos, and dollar stores.\n\nWe know it's wrong. We know it's harmful to us, and our planet. We know it's imperative to transition away from it. We know it's possible. We know we are more than this. We know. We know.
