      "body": "Today marks one month that I’ve been at this new job. New job, new industry, and a new type A boss to learn. To sort of pick up where I last left off, I’m not entirely sure HOW I’m feeling about this job. \n\nThe staffing agency calls me once a week to check in and last week I felt I wasn’t entirely honest, even half way, about my thoughts and feelings about the job. After taking the weekend and speaking more with my mentor, and some other people who’s opinions I value, and processing everything I made a phone call on my lunch break. When I went to work this morning I had that stupid sinking feeling that this isn’t where I’m supposed to be. I ignored it and took it as the Monday blues but as my day continued the feeling grew. I had to get this off my chest. \n\nMy support at the staffing agency was extremely understanding, compassionate, and open to my feelings. She tried to reassure me by telling me that on Friday she spoke with my boss and he told her that he believes I truly have some untapped potential and he wants to see that through. Well, that’s cool and all, but it doesn’t change how I feel. It just adds to my personal fear/hate of disappointing people. This man hired me for a reason and I don’t think I’m ever going to live up to whatever that reason was. \n\nI’ve had stressful jobs before, I’ve had jobs where I had to manage my time and balance my tasks at hand, but this one is different. Perhaps it’s the new industry or the fact that everyone, and I mean everyone even the people who have been there for 17 years, are intimidated and scared of my boss. He acknowledges that he’s not the friendliest or most approachable due to his cut and dry personality. I get that, but the fear is real and I don’t like that. \n\nI approach every job I have as “I’m getting paid to be good at my job.” I apply myself as such and try as hard as I can to become an asset to the team. I know that this place wants me to be an asset and already sees me as such (more my role and not me) but I can’t seem to find where my responsibilities will ever end. I fear that one day I’m going to come to work and be expected to be able to fully take on a role for the day that yes, I may have been trained in once during my first few weeks, but hasn’t been in my work thoughts since that training occurred because I am being trained in so much more on a daily basis. I can handle multiple responsibilities but when each are so different from each other I’d expect a little time to ensure that I am comfortable with those tasks. \n\nOne person I talked to told me that this situation is a perfect opportunity to actually advocate for myself. And she is right. I am always so quick to advocate for others but am always so fearful to advocate for myself. But why? It all comes back to my fear/hate of disappointing people. Then I remembered that not only is this an opportunity to advocate for myself but I am also employed through the staffing agency and they’re the ones who will advocate for me after I advocate to myself. I would ignore theses feelings and gut instincts at any other job and just stick with it because I had to to pay my bills. But I don’t have to because my employer is the staffing agency and they will place me somewhere else. \n\nI made my phone call on my lunch break with no definite decision made. I vented and cried and let out some of my anxiety and made the plan to call back in two days with how I am feeling then. When I got off the phone I still felt uneasy and when I returned to work that feeling turned into a burning desire of not wanting to be there. But I continued my day and to be honest, I did feel a little better by the end of the day.  I’m trying to give it the entire rest of the week before I decide for sure or if I am going to stick it out. I don’t want to jump to ending this opportunity because I know this door will never open again if I do, I want to make sure my decision is right with all the factors I have going into it. \n\nIt’s nice knowing that my employment is with the staffing agency because as long as I am accepting assignments through them I am employed by them. That means that during this time of employment uncertainty the staffing agency is my employer, no matter how long I stay in an assignment, and that will reflect more positively on my resume.  What sucks is that I am currently making $16 an hour...the most money I have ever made an hour other than babysitting.  That factor alone is two reasons why I’m driving myself crazy thinking about everything. 1. That’s a lot of money and I might not get another placement paying that (could definitely get one at $14 so that’s not bad) 2. Can I make it the three months with the gut feeling that I would not accept a permanent position just to keep collecting the $16 an hour until the end of the three months??????!!!!! \n\nTomorrow is a new day, and this job isn’t MY job if I don’t feel like it’s right do the best I can do is go in there with a fresh face and try again.",

I originally got on with the staffing agency around April or May of 2017 as I was trying my hardest to find another decent paying job because the position I held at the time was literally sucking the life out of me. I went on a couple of interviews through them but those didn’t work out and I ended up getting a job in daycare making a decent hourly so I jumped at that and left my hell job. \n\nI worked at the daycare from the end of June until just a few weeks ago after express randomly reached out to me to see if I was still interested in pursuing employment through them. At the time I was in awe of what the universe was doing for me. In the very beginning of the year I was on the side of town where the staffing agency is located and I do not frequent that area often. When I saw it I thought to myself “huh, I should get back on the website and show interest in some jobs and maybe I’ll get something more career based.” Well not even a week later and before I actually got back on their website I ended up getting a phone call from them asking if I was still interested in pursuing employment with them.  Of course I was still interested, I want a career or work experience that will help my future career. \n\nAbout a week and a half later I get a call about a position that just opened up and they thought I would be a great fit for it. They asked if I was interested in interviewing for it but being that it was a bit further of a commute I decided to take time after work and read the job description they had for it and consider it knowing the pay range. I’m completely impressed with the pay range and the job description doesn’t seem too aggregous so I call them first thing the next morning and tell them yes. They called me back that afternoon and told me the manager could interview me the next day around 1 or the following day around the same time. Being that my co teacher was out sick and I knew she wouldn’t be back the next day but possibly the day after I opted for the next day interview. \n\nFor my interview I had to drive 30 minutes down a bitch of an interstate during lunch time traffic and in order for me to get an “extended” lunch break for my interview incognito I told my boss that I locked my keys in my car. I was a nervous wreck. The moment I accepted that interview my anxiety went sky rocket and would not chill out. I was having mild anxiety attacks every time I thought about just driving to my interview and that was only during the course of about 5 hours until I got home and freaked because I couldn’t find anything decent to wear. Because I’ve lost so much weight in the last few years due to stress and anxiety, none of my clothes really fit right and if they do they don’t for long. It took me a good two hours to find something that I could change into quickly without being noticed (didn’t want my job to pick up on what I was doing) and I HAD to look professional. \n\nOf course the next day I’m still a huge ball of anxiety about this interview, mainly because the pay is actually something good for where I live. It was an opportunity for me to quit my Sunday morning job and be able to say no to babysitting jobs because I won’t NEED them to make it until the next paycheck. At this point I’ve talked to multiple people who I trust and value deeply and they’ve all done their best to reassure me and help lessen my anxiety. Nothing worked. And if it did it lasted two minutes and I was back to my anxious thoughts. I needed up having an anxiety attack IN my interview. It was small but it was one and it was one enough for me to even have the tears welling up that I could not stop. I was mortified. But I continued the interview and headed back to work where I had to hear everyone make their own chuckle about me “locking my keys in my car” and go along with it. \n\nI was supposed to call the staffing agency after my interview but I was so embarrassed I just couldn’t do it. The next day passes and it’s the weekend, come Monday morning I get a call from them but ignore it and the voicemail and go on about my day. The next day I get another phone call and ignore it but chose to read the voicemail since mine transcribe. I didn’t read the entire thing because I saw the words “good news” and called immediately. I GOT THE JOB. How? I have no fucking clue. But I did and was in such shock I had them verify that multiple times before I hung up the phone. I went back to my class, in shock, and told my co teacher who knew I was looking and had that, what I believed to be, terrible interview. \n\nI put my notice in on a Friday before I left for a vacation I had planned specifically to use my PTO before I left that job. I worked one week after my vacation and said goodbye to working in a daycare ever again. I loooved what I did and teaching my toddlers but the jobisn’t good and if the director sucks then the entire daycare will too. It is also not an industry that you can progress in or really expect a raise in  it was bittersweet and wayyuyyy too emotional but I’m ready for what’s a head of me? \n\nThat’s where I am now and that’s where I’m going to stop for tonight. Hopefully I’ll remember to do part two tomorrow, who knows there’s probably going to be a three and a four. I don’t know if anyone will read this but I do know that I already feel better by expressing just this part through this post.",

      "body": "I’m going to take some time to introduce my cat Leroy Winston. Leroy came into my life on May 14, 2015 at just 10 weeks old. With him turning 3 today March 10th!!!!  I can’t help but find myself feelings lol mushy gushy and reminiscing about the past 3(almost) years we have spent together. \n\n![image](https://img.esteem.ws/tknrcqlg2g.jpg)\n\nI first want to start off with...go ahead and label me a “crazy cat lady,” it’s nothing new. For some reason it is completely acceptable for people to talk about their dogs and how much joy they bring to them and yet cat lovers go to talk about their cat or cats and BOOM they’re crazy. Well guess what, IDGAF!\n\n ![image](https://img.esteem.ws/656vl42nr7.jpg)\n ![image](https://img.esteem.ws/snvwnvtd8t.jpg)\n\nThat’s Leroy when I first got him, just a tiny and curious little fellow.  In the beginning, Leroy and I would make regular weekend trips to visit my family with a total driving time of about 6.5 hours in the car. It was my goal to get him used to riding so that we could continue going to road trips together. To this day Leroy is chill as fuck in the car. I’ve had a few friends who were adamant about not liking cats and within five minutes of meeting Leroy were fawning after him. He is everyone’s friend and especially digs the ladies. \n\n ![image](https://img.esteem.ws/on1u29h3as.jpg)\n ![image](https://img.esteem.ws/irfh9ykjs9.jpg)\n ![image](https://img.esteem.ws/ktlzdpmlxm.jpg)\n\nA cat with quirks, Leroy is obsessed with chocolate ice cream to the point that he will meow my head off from the time I walk in the door with ice cream from my favorite ice cream place here in Asheville (Frostbite, will def do a post on them later!!) just for his share. He’s not big on other human food though, especially if it has seasonings on it, and no cheese (such a weird cat). If you’re around him and drinking something out of a plastic bottle, you better not take your eyes off of your bottle cap because he will steal it and start playing with it before you even realize it is gone. He also fetches bottle caps and will fetch all day long if you’d be willing to throw it.  I’ve also never met a cat who doesn’t care about dogs, like at all. He will taunt them but doesn’t give one flying shit about them otherwise. He is my saving grace when I need to be brought back to reality. Sometimes my anxiety is just too much but all it takes is a quick snuggle with my boy for my anxiety levels to drop. Now that’s not to say I don’t go back 3, 4, or even 5 more times before I can continue on with what I have to do but he helps. It also helps knowing that if I am somewhere other than at home and my anxiety takes over, Leroy is there waiting for me.
