      "body": "<html>\n<p>Finally I can publish this ICO Alert for <strong>Open Platform</strong>. I spent lot of time looking into this project and now I am ready to share my thoughts with you. Please take this blog post kind of as summary of Open Platform`s white paper and do your own research before you invest.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>In every project I look into, the below criterias are what I look into, but to understand what I am looking in each of them for, you should check my blog post explaining how I do my research. <a href=\"https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@topicopicks/ico-research-the-way-i-do-it\"><em><strong>Here is link</strong></em></a> or just check it out under my profile.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><strong>Vision - </strong>Open Platform aims to become first blockchain payments infrastructure for application developers to process e.g. in app purchases, app membership payments etc. It can be deployed on already launched as well as newly developed apps. OPEN is a utility token, that is needed to create the smart contract (or Scaffold as Open calls it), which is needed to start receiving payments from app users.</p>\n<p>OPEN aims to bring blockchain to the masses by tackling what is predicted to be $71.7bln market by 2020 and it has the first mover advantage in this field.&nbsp;Open is utilizing Ethereum smart contracts, it will be scaled via migration to Tendermint as the usage of the platform grows. This should be seemless as both are running on the same EVM.&nbsp;</p>\n<iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https://www.youtube.com/embed/94XITWOpb-8\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; encrypted-media\" allowfullscreen></iframe>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><em>What I like</em></p>\n<p><strong>Token metrics - </strong>total supply is <strong>1bln</strong> OPEN tokens, <strong>50%</strong> for sale, 1 OPEN - <strong>$0.08 </strong>- generally speaking 1 billion total supply is my maximum. Apart from those 500mln for sale another 200 mln are allocated to Developer Program to incentivize developers to use the platform via airdrops. And another 200 mln are allocated for the team and are vested</p>\n<p><strong>Team - </strong>Open has a quite large team of 10 core team members and 4 advisors. Team behind Open is very experienced in app creation and app promotion. Team is covering many important areas on both executive and developing side of their business. &nbsp;They have 2 Berkley absolvents among their development team. Their advising team covers finance &amp; partnerships, payment and operations (ex match.com president) field. Chandler Guo, who is very well known in crypto business is listed as investor. Apart from Open Chandler also invested in Qtum, NEO and Tron.</p>\n<p><strong>Social media</strong> support for Open is huge, but this could me mainly because of their bounty program. Open has 42k followers on Telegram and 23k followers on Twitter. Admins on their Telegram are quite knowledgeable and friedly. If they are unsure of topic discussed, they don`t hesitate to bring it to the team and ask questions.</p>\n<p><strong>Roadmap</strong> is something that I really like in this project. It is long enough and has a lot of releases that should help the price to go up.&nbsp; Open SDK 1.0 should be released in June and its update to 2.0 in July of 2018. Open platform (including Open Wallet and Open API) goes live in July 2018 under version 1.0 and by April 2019 will be updated up to 3.0 version.</p>\n<p><strong>MVP</strong> was released however only in form of video introduction.&nbsp;Video shows test user account creation and payment for service/membership of an email app (simple email app used as an example only)</p>\n<iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https://www.youtube.com/embed/2fI2RwVQU7k\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; encrypted-media\" allowfullscreen></iframe>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><em>What I don`t like</em></p>\n<p><strong>Hard cap was raised</strong>, actually it was more than doubled. The team actually realeased official statement explaining this move. Here is <a href=\"https://medium.com/@theOPENPlatform/hardcap-and-opens-vision-a-message-for-everyone-12976b04ade8?source=user_profile---------1----------------\"><strong>link</strong></a> to their Medium statement, read it and make your own peace with it. I mean it is not a disaster, but generally speaking I don`t like to see hard cap being raised.</p>\n<p>There are few things I was asking about that were declared as not shareable. Like how long are team tokens vested for, what amount of tokens and for what price were sold during private sale and if it was vested. I don`t like to see this amount of secrecy.</p>\n<p><strong>Developer program</strong> is 200mln token pool that is going to be used to incentivize developers to start using Open platform via airdrops. This is actually not a bad thing as it shows that they have plan for rolling the project out, but in my opinion the pool is too big (20% of total supply) and it will be topped up with 3% fee off of every transaction.</p>\n<p>Token sale orientated mostly towards developers, although this could be seen as positive as it shows that Open wants to do serious business. &nbsp;But between the airdrops, developers program and most of the tokens sold to developers there is little space left to make profit, at least in short to mid term as in my opinion all of the developers will have tokens they would need for that time being.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Above points should play important role in decision making whether to invest in this project. In my opinion Open Platform is very good project, that the team behind manages very well and I have no doubt that this project will help to bring crypto adoption to the masses.       "title": "COTI, Cardstack, Hycon and Metronome ICOs - why am I not investing?",
      "body": "<html>\n<p>All of us, that research and invest in ICOs have our own set of factors that we check as part of our research. As everyone of you, I have my set as well and I always want to hit all of them. As explained in my yesterday`s blog post mine are &nbsp;<strong>Token Metrics, Team &amp; advisors, Social media, Vision, Roadmap, MVP and Partnerships.</strong> In this order. Why? I find that many very good products, that have great product, roadmap or team have token metrics that I am not happy with. So I set this order up, as the initial few steps only take few minutes and help you weed good 70% out. With the number of ICO launching daily, it is very important to research as many as possible. If you didn`t read my post about my criteria, make sure to read it to understand my explanation below, <a href=\"https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@topicopicks/ico-research-the-way-i-do-it\"><em><strong>check it out here.</strong></em></a></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Doing my research today, I came across these, here is my standpoint</p>\n<p><strong>COTI - </strong>$60m hard cap, 42% of tokens for sale - this one fails at the first hurdle by me, without even looking much deeper into this one I know I won`t be investing. As you know, I aim for absolute maximum of hard cap to be $50m and at least 50% of tokens for sale... Lower hard cap means higher possible multipliers (e.g. $60m can 10x on the way to $600m, whereas $20m one will 30x)</p>\n<p><strong>Cardstack</strong> - 6bln total tokens, 40% of tokens for sale - similar as COTI above Cardstack fails already at Token metrics. My absolute maximum of total tokens released is 1bln. And as stated above I want to see at least 50% of tokens for sale</p>\n<p><strong>Hycon</strong> - 10bln total tokens, 10% for sale (70% will be mined over time) - same as above</p>\n<p><strong>Metronome - </strong>good looking project, but tokens will be sold in auction, so no hard cap is given and more tokens will be issued over time. Also team members don`t link to their LinkedIn so cannot justify strength of the team.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Came across <strong>Open Platform ICO</strong> that I like very much and will be writing ICO alert about (tomorrow or Tuesday depending on my schedule). <strong>Open Platform</strong> is blockchain payment infrastructure for applications.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Another interesting ICO from today`s research is <strong>Kairos</strong> - face recognition solution that is functioning already and workes with huge companies too. Want to create revolutionary blockchain powered verification solution.       "title": "ICO Research the way I do it",
      "body": "<html>\n<p>Hello and welcome to my new blog. I will be posting all my future ICO Alerts here , as Twitter is not offering enough letters for a proper ICO overview. To kick off, I would like to share with you how I do my ICO research. This should help you read my future ICO Alerts and give you understanding the way they are structured.</p>\n<p><img src=\"http://bitcoin-newswire.com/2018/02/04/reinventing-ico-research-and-reviews-with-revain/\"/></p>\n<h3>My set of parameters for ICO research</h3>\n<p>I am sure all of you reading this have their own set of parameters, that are important for you when you research ICO (or any crypto project). &nbsp;Mine are <strong>Token Metrics, Team &amp; advisors, Social media, Vision, Roadmap, MVP, Partnerships. &nbsp;</strong>For the best result, all of the above need to be met. And I always check them in this order, as today`s ICO market is a numbers game and you want to be checking as many of these as possible. It happened to me many times in the past, that I was checking ICO project, everything looked great, but as last step I checked token metrics, where it failed. I can exclude at least 70% of ICOs based on the first 2 parameters alone. &nbsp;That makes my life easier. &nbsp;Now I will explain all of them in more detail one by one.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<h3>Token Metrics</h3>\n<p>I am looking to getmax hard cap of $50m</ins>, but that is absolute MAX and only is acceptable if project is great. Holy grail for me is anything below $25m.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Circulating supply</ins> is very important, as it will influence the speed in which price ups and downs in future cryptos happen. See Ripple as example, the &nbsp;&nbsp;hype level it reached beginning of January and even despite of the hype it only reached all time high of $3.65 (XRP circulating supply is 36bln, total 99bln!).&nbsp;It takes a lot of money flooding in to the market to move a whale like that.</p>\n<p>Also very important is to see how many of all tokens available are offered for sale</ins>, I like to see 50% for sale and up (but by exeptional project will go as low as 40%, I never go below that). I would like to mention here, that I find more and more projects, that offer tokens for price, where hard cap is reached before all tokens are sold. Unsold tokens are burnt. This way, they move the participation of sold tokens down (say to 40% compared to stated 50 - hope this makes sence). Hopefully that makes sense</p>\n<p>Lock up period</ins> &nbsp;of teams tokens prevents flood of tokens to the market &nbsp;which would cause the price to go down. The longer the lock up period the better. Some projects do lock ups for sold tokens as well, which is nice as it helps to keep the price stable, since very little people are selling it.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<h3>Team and advisors</h3>\n<p>Experience</ins> in field related to the ICO project is essential. It won`t help that team is experienced in selling shoes when they want to launch &nbsp;medical records network.</p>\n<p>Superstars within the team</ins>, preferably in the core team, if nothing else at least in advising team. At least one is good, anything more than 2 is very good. The reason why I like to see this is, that someone &nbsp;who worked for large corporation &nbsp;is less likely willing &nbsp;to damage their reputation for ICO project.</p>\n<p>Clickable links to LinkedIn</ins> and few hundreds of connections, just to double check that person is really who they claim they are. Also to check previous work experience</p>\n<p>Years of experience</ins> in the field, especially important if no real superstar can be found in the team</p>\n<p>Size of team and right positions</ins> filled is another important factor, as only marketing and selling experts in the team are not enough. Blockchain project need blockchain developers to achieve their goals etc. Generally speaking, the bigger the team the higher the probability that the project is taken seriously by founders</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<h3>Social media</h3>\n<p>Size of social media accounts</ins>, especially of the ones on Telegram and Twitter are important. Anything with less than 5k followers doesn`t have enough hype to create long term interest in the project, at least 10k is my preferred option</p>\n<p>Admins in those groups and managing those accounts and their communication (or lack of it) are deciding factor. If they cannot answer questions, are not replying or even worse are rude to people, I am out</p>\n<p>Quality conversation</ins> and quality followers are what I am looking for. Too many GIFs and 'when lambo?'type of questions put me of project, as it suggest weak community</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<h3>Vision</h3>\n<p>This one is pretty straight forward, I like to see original projects that could bring crypto to the masses or improve on already existing projects</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<h3>Roadmap</h3>\n<p>Long roadmap that is full of steps that will increase value or popularity of the project is what you want to see here. As detailed as possible is preffered. Also acts as kind of a checklist of how the team is working. If the team misses 3 milestones I tend to sell my holdings, as it usually drives the price of tokens down</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<h3>MVP</h3>\n<p>I prefer to invest in projects that have at least MVP released pre ICO. Alpha release is preferred option. Also like to see testnet release not long after ICO.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<h3>Partnerships</h3>\n<p>Another factor that shows how thoroughly the team was working in the pre ICO stage. This gives a bit more credibility to the team and the project as whole, as this very promising sign of future developments. Please note, that even though partnerships are listed on the website of the ICO, it doesn`t mean they are real. In the recent weeks there were few ICOs with fake partnerships listed on their websites, please double check</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<h3>White paper</h3>\n<p>After all of the above factors, I make sure to read the white paper to understand the project better.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Please note, that even with this extensive research, you have no guarantee when investing in ICO. &nbsp;&nbsp;Investing in ICO is risky &nbsp;so due dilligence is very important. The above factors and their fulfillment help me drive risk of loosin my investment down, however there is no way of knowing which investment is the best for sure.
