You either love it or are starting to despise it a little by now. For me, I have to love it because it's my day job; I'm a community manager. I write to customers on social media platforms, answering their questions, discussing topics, you know, all that jazz. Throughout my time in this industry, I've noticed that each social media guru will have at least one or two favourite platforms that they can't live without. If I were being asked, it would be, Instagram. Photography is awesome. So... when my friend started talking to me about Mithril and the app that it has created, I started to perk up a bit. \n\n[Mithril](https://mith.io), if you don't know yet, is coining itself as a decentralised social media platform/network that rewards content creators; just like Steemit. However, this platform (for the moment!) is geared towards photography and video content  via their new app. They will be adding other features to this ecosystem in the future. But with their first instalment, The [Lit app](https://lit.live/#/), they decided to start with a Snapchat-like concept, in which your content disappears after 24 hours. But the fun thing, the more likes you get, and the more you interact, the more MITH you receive. After the photo/video disappears, a little sign pops up informing you how many MITH tokens have been credited to your account. Et voilà, you are now a hodler. \n\nBefore I get to the positives, I do have a couple of little critiques that I will mention first. \n1. **The tokens are stuck on the app** -  \nYou can't move them out or even transfer MITH from an exchange to the app. The admins have said via their Telegram account that they will be adding this in the near future. So this point really isn't such a negative one, just a minor hindrance. \n2. **Trying to find my friends on there has been a lost cause** - \nThis might be an iOS glitch but for the life of me, I tried searching for my friend a few hundred times and he is nowhere to be found. Just out of curiosity, has this happened to anyone else? Anyway, I've been saying 'Woosaaah' as to not let it bother me. Why, you may ask? Because this is a new app. It will evolve. The devs will improve it, therefore, I'm not fussed. Now I know, some of you trigger happy individuals out there are quick to run and give negative 1 starred reviews for such a thing but why? Just relax, say woosaaah with me and let's grow a fun community instead. \n3. **People do post some less than pleasing images**- \nI've come across blurred shots, super close-ups of odd little trinkets, unsavoury food shots, etc. Some images, I stop and stare at, pondering, why on earth would someone post such a capture? Like I saw someone taking a close-up of an ATM number pad, another one taking an image of a blurred ice cube in a glass, a half drunk Fanta bottle, a wooden floor, blurry stairs and so on. But again, I think that when more people join, the content will improve. As of right now however, they are posting as many images as they can, not really caring whether their content will be appealing to the masses. Their thought is, 'The more I post, the more MITH I get.' But what they are failing to see is, people will always flock to the images that are aesthetically pleasing. And besides, a little composition never hurt anyone.\n\nWhen I first started using the Lit app, I was a little bummed out by the fact that I couldn't upload my personal images onto the platform. But then I stopped and really thought about it. Could this be a blessing in disguise? \n\nOur social media lives are fake AF aren't they? I mean I look at my Instagram account and think to myself, who are you trying to kid?! Then I look at my friends accounts, and friends of friends and dear baby Jesus, don't get me started on the celebrities! The point is, we upload touched-up, altered, warped impressions of what our lives are like. I would, for once in my life, like to be a part of something that is real. Real, unaltered images. Maybe it's the nostalgia in me that's coming out. From a time of only being able to develop rolls of 24 or 36 frames. Who knows. Anyhow, The Mithril team are saying that they will be adding the feature of being able to upload images in the future, but I really want to plead with them and say why?! Leave it as it is. Who's with me? (Probably no one 😫) \n\nIsn't the whole point of blockchain and decentralisation a way of improving our society? Well, why can't we improve our society by sending out real images of our lives? Maybe little boys and girls will stop hating themselves a little bit less, maybe people will stop drooling over a smokescreen and mirror filled lifestyle? Am I going slightly overboard? Well, maybe. But I have grown to love the shitty pics that people post of the randomest things on Lit. It's real, raw, untouched life. So if the big man himself ever reads this (which I highly doubt) please don't change that aspect of it! Alas, somehow I fear that if they want \"influencers\" and the social media elite to hop on board the Lit train, then being able to upload your fancy schmancy images will be a must. It just would have been nice to see a different kind of social media platform start to take shape. One in which we start to look at our world in a different way and not hide behind a facade of tricker and illusion. Oh well, a girl can dream...\n\nAnyway, I slightly digressed... The positives! Yes! I see a real potential in Mithril as a whole ecosystem of sorts. The Lit app is easy to use, and for me, has become slightly addictive. Yes, there are some glitches, but that is normal for anything that is just starting out. And let's not forget, being able to post content and get paid for it, is a big plus. Hello... that's one of the reasons why we like Steemit, right? \n\nAll in all, I am now starting to remember why I loved taking photos/videos in the first place. It's made me want to participate more. On Instagram, my photography is all filtered, edited images of landscapes, Urbanscapes and such. I'll be lucky if I can be bothered to edit an image and post one every two weeks. With Lit, I am looking at my surroundings and seeing the unaltered beauty of everyday life. Under normal circumstances, I usually would be saying, man I need to use snapseed or VSCO or this needs to be tweaked by adding a sun flare, etc. I've missed looking at things and not giving a crap about how pretty I can make the image. Maaaann, I was so obsessed with needing to have the right stylised photo on Instagram. Ok, I'll be honest, I probably will still be doing that, it's just refreshing to feel like I don't have to. \n\nAll in all, I'm a fan of Lit, even in it's early stages. And I'm also excited to see how Mithril will evolve as a whole. But of course, you be the judge of it yourselves. I'm just  one lady merely giving my point of view on the matter. \n\nNow if you'll excuse me, I've got some less than pleasing images to capture... \n\n\n\n\n*And don't forget, as with everything in the cryptosphere, do your own damn research! 😉",

You could even say it's a gaze that is more than life itself, aided by the twinkling of stars that has somehow been born from the universe. You are looking at a deep galaxy of lights, where each illumination is a memory that the bearer holds dear. And suddenly, just like the quickness of the snapping of fingers, a stillness of time manifests into infinity. It is just the two of you who matter, as the noises around you mute. You both seem to be in the know, while the rest of the world ceases to exist. That gaze, the one that makes you almost feel like you know the meaning of life, morphs into something that logically you can't comprehend, and yet emotionally understand without question. Once this realisation hits, you become very aware that your breath becomes caught up in the thickness of the air around you, making it hard to digest the intensity. It's a rarity... but if you are lucky enough to experience it, it is likely one that you will never forget.\n\nI have had the great pleasure of experiencing such a gaze, not once but a few times throughout my life. And with each, came a knowing that at that moment the man that was doing the gazing cared for me without question. It was reassuring, comforting and probably made me overlook other blemishes that I otherwise would have never allowed. But once the gaze materialised, all rationale would fly right out the window. It was a drug so potent and so euphoric that I stuck around in the hopes of experiencing it again. I was a girl who loved love after all. Each gaze somehow cemented my romanticised conviction about love. As I look back on each encounter, I do so with a longing and admiration that I was fortunate to experience the amount that I did.\n\nI remember where I was and what I was doing with each gaze. Even the ones that were many years ago still feel like new. But I have realised that there's definitely different variation of the 'gaze'. There are ones, a gushy gaze, that allow you to open up and let the person in. While other's, a grand gaze, that make you feel like you are an admired and wanted human being. And then there's the doozy of all gazes, a gladiator gaze, which is the one that awakens your soul. The one where you can see each other growing old together.\n\nFor me, each experience has no doubt been ingrained right down to my core and from time to time I find myself thinking about those moments. I don't think of the men, or the relationships. I think about the feeling, about the emotions, about the senses. It comes to mind more when I lose faith in men. Or when a devastating experience knocks me back into my fortified walls. Or when a momentary overwhelming feeling of loneliness settles in. But I want to make it clear that I don't think of these instances to reminisce on what I've lost, or even to do a pity party, or a woe is me chant. No! I think of them because those feelings make me happy. Happy that I actually was able to experience such a powerful emotion. Happy that even despite the uncertainties that life brings, for a brief moment I felt love in all its richness and grandeur.\n\nThe gaze is a powerful phenomenon surrounded by yearning, pheromones and enigma. It's something that makes you feel invincible. But with this awe-inspiring power comes delirium and a susceptibility to goofiness, vulnerability and even allowing the giver of the gaze more leeway then what you ever intended. So take great care when receiving the gaze. Cherish it, adore it, and be mindful of it. The whizzing of whimsy will engulf you; revel in it. Even if I never am able to receive the gaze from another man again, at least I can look back in fondness of the ones I have had the honour of obtaining.\n\n                                      💜💜💜",

      "body": "<html>\n<p><img src=\"https://thelonepanda.files.wordpress.com/2015/07/222.gif?w=700&amp;h=393\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\"/></p>\n<p>Firstly, I should start off by saying that I am not even remotely interested in exercise. I would rather read a good book or gauge out my eyeballs. But alas, I've succumbed to it because of health. After all, if you don't have good health then you can't enjoy your life to the fullest.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>However, it was hard for me to get started. I would end up saying things like... oh I'll start Monday (because everything we try and achieve starts on that day right?!), oh I have a paper cut, oh maybe after this last roast dinner, and so on. But then something happened.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>My motivation did not stem from the fact that I wanted to look more appealing. Nor was it because I wanted to get through 5 flights of stairs without huffing and puffing. No... my motivation was because of The Walking Dead.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>OK, so I don't know if any of you do this, but I tend to imagine scenarios quite a lot in my old noggin. In fact, I'm pretty sure I have an overactive imagination. One day, as I was watching The Walking dead (one of my favourite shows), I started thinking about what I would do in such a situation. Does anyone else every do that?</p>\n<p>There I was, picturing myself &nbsp;trying to run away from impending doom. My first thoughts were of creating weapons from household items, which, let's face it, would have been a disaster, seeing as I have nothing worthwhile in my possession. &nbsp;Then I would take inventory of the food supplies, which, knowing me, would have been super low because I was too lazy to go to the grocery store the day before. Next would come the plan of scavenging, and that's when I realised that I would only be able to muster up enough strength to become an onscreen extra in an excerpt of a prologue. The tiny blip of action that gets you hooked to a story, saving your emotions for the main, heroic characters. &nbsp;I would be the appetiser. A quick feast of non-epic proportions. It would probably end in a, palm to the face moment. A moment that makes you concede with a sigh as you realise you never stood a chance. And there I'd be, dragging my upper torso at a glacial pace, while my lower limbs trailed by an intestine 3 feet away.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>I did not want to be just a blip when an apocalyptic occurrence waged war. I wanted to survive. So the only course of action was to train as if I was Rambo on steroids.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>All in all, even though my humorous thoughts were that of fictitious scenarios, it did motivate me to get up off my fat ass and move a little. I of course don't train like Rambo, but I'm slowly getting there. I try and find entertaining ways to motivate myself. Whether it be through a new routine, or pushing myself to see how many sets I can do, or &nbsp;even letting images of me running away from zombies, meteors, or for that matter, any other doomsday scenarios that might pop into my head. &nbsp;I guess the point is, to find things that push you to better yourself. It doesn't matter what they are. It can be for the most absurd of reasons. At the end of the day your goal is to become the version of you that you see in your dreams. A happy version, one that you can be proud of.       "body": "I do that too! i feel like i have built up a tolerance to falling asleep and the sound waves i listen to from youtube have really helped me relax into a deep REM sleep. To me though the main cause of my sleep issues was watching tv right before bed since light from screens trigger our bodies to stay awake.\n\nI feel your struggle\nThanks for sharing :)\n\nDante",

For one reason or another, it seems like I have built up an intolerance to mellowing out over the years. As soon as my head hits the pillow, my brain starts going into overdrive. And so, every night without fail, I become an angry ball of mush who's brain is being stuffed full of convoluted silliness.\n\nhttps://thelonepanda.files.wordpress.com/2015/01/2brain.gif?w=640\n\nI would like to state from now that I hate people who can plop their heads onto a pillow and pass out within 5 minutes. Equally, I hate those who can fall asleep anywhere. You know those bastards that you see sleeping in a chair with their neck looking all severed; Kill Bill style - neck break. The sheer fact that people can sleep in weird places really gets to me, in a torturous way. Maybe hate is a strong word, but how do you freaks do it? How is it physically possible? Because I cannot recall a time, in my entire existence, that I magically fell asleep within 10 minutes. For the life of me, it perplexes my soul.\n\nHere is a typical night for me:\n\nAfter consuming what might be an eternity of crappy TV I retire to my bedroom to start the process of trying to fall asleep. First and foremost I check my alarms on my iPhone. I have 5 set. I then realise that I need to go to the bathroom. After finishing I return to my room, closing the door behind me and check my 5 alarms again. Once locking the phone I push the home button so I can see the little image of the alarm clock on the top right corner. As if to reassure myself that it's ok to put the phone down, the alarms are set. I then jump into bed and snuggle under the covers. And then... the thoughts begin...\n\n'God it's cold under these covers. Maybe I should put my socks back on? No, I'm sure it will heat up. I just have to wait it out. I think I need to check my alarms again. Last time I magically switched them off and I was late to work. I can't afford to do that tomorrow morning. Yeah, maybe I should definitely check my alarms again. Ok alarms look fine. Everything looks fine. Back to bed I go. It's still freezing under these covers. Oh wait, do I need to pee again? Shit!' I go pee and return once more.\n'Why the hell is it so cold in here? Stupid landlord and his stingy ways. No double glazing and a drafty wooden board that covers the hole to the attic. This is a shit apartment and a shit room. I wonder what rooms are like in Argentina. It's practically summer there right about now. I bet the view in Chile is just as amazing. I could hop on a plane right now and chill over in Chile, with a bowl of Chilli. Hahaha, that made me chuckle! Why did I find that funny? You are an old fucking granny that's why! No seriously, I could be over there for like 2 months. Then maybe I could fly to the South Pacific. Oh, ouch, pain in my stomach. Clench for dear life! I don't think I should have had that pizza today. I look and feel pregnant. This has got to be what it feels like to carry a baby. I heard preggy ladies get gassy. I'm gassy now. How do their partners deal with it? I wish I had a partner right now, that could rub my tummy. No, maybe I would be too gassy? No, no partner right now. Well, maybe for a little hug. A hug would be amazing right now. Like a big chunky hug. Why can't I find anyone? Surely I'm not that hideous. Jesus, you ate a WHOLE pizza to yourself today. Hideous is an understatement. You are a pregnant, lonely, fat, horrendous granny! No, don't be negative. You are fine. Everything is fine. Fine, fine, fine. FINE! You are doing your Course to better yourself and get a better job. You will lose weight. Oh who are you kidding, exercise is hell. I hate exercising. I bought a hula hoop... I haven't used it. It's currently collecting dust. Maybe I will run tomorrow. Yeah I will start tomorrow. Oh the lies!  You will come home and sit your fat ass on that couch and watch 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta' or 'Love and Hip Hop', take a shower and then go to bed. This pillow is bullshit. Memory foam my ass. I need to get a memory foam mattress. Aaahhhh! Shut up!!! Relax, think of fluffy clouds. Envision clouds floating past at a glacial pace. Soothing. Big ol' fluffy clouds. Care bears were awesome. I had a Care Bear stuffed animal. Where is it? Why can't we live on clouds like the Care Bears. That would be awesome.  I would live in a fluffy cloud castle, with a Care Bear. The one with the picture of a rainbow on his belly. My tummy is still rumbling. Rumble in the jungle like Jackie Chan. Waaaaahh! Jackie Chan! Jackie Chan! Chaka Khan! He needs to do another movie. OH. MY. GOD. They should totally make a Care Bears movie. If they still do not verify, those accounts can be blacklisted (the bot will run around following them declaring them as a fake I believe).  haha  One post back here is plenty!",
