The city where the epidemic is most prevalent is said to be the capital city of Antananarivo, 805 thousand people were reported to be found in the plague. Due to the epidemic, the schools in the country were closed by the Ministry of Education.\nThe World Health Organization (WHO) has supplied 1.2 million doses of antibiotics that are vital to fighting the disease.\nSince 1980, there has been a plague epidemic in Madagascar every month between September and April.
