| body | Interesting article. I'm very open minded to your thought and like the metaphor of Satan being the spine which leads to the brain.. Could be some truth to that. The only thing I disagree with is the Satan - Sate in part and I'm not saying there isn't a connection there, there absolutely might be.. Just that the word Satan came much later and originally I believe it was a Hebrew word which if I remember correctly is suppose to mean "adversary". Which is a very enlightening thing to think of and perhaps the negative ways we treat others is our ultimate adversary. Not even sure you'll read this since I'm pretty sure you don't have access to this account right now, but maybe some day you will and.. I basically just wanted to say it was a really interesting theory.. You might be right! However I'm not sure how much any of us can truly know about what happened so long ago. I do like learning about the different possibilities though and this was a new one to me I hadn't thought of before! Makes me wonder.. |

However I do think many people are more good than they are "bad" so to speak. >It seems cruel to do this to a man, and it is definitely cruel according to my sense of morality to murder a lamb. Are you vegan? Just curious. >It's somewhat paradoxical, as it would suggest that if you want to protect the ones you love the most, the way to do so is to be willing to fail them in order to do the right thing. That's interesting to think about. Reminds me of the whole "super hero" idea as I watched the movie Kick-Ass with my friend recently and it seems like in order to help others sometimes you gotta do some bad things. Sometimes you even gotta be more ruthless in some ways than the bad guys you are fighting or else you'll lose. >What does a life of doing good, true good, look like for someone living in today's world? They too would suffer persecution, and very act of doing good is a sacrifice for the people, for it is putting everyone else before the desires of oneself. Agreed. I think almost anyone.. Maybe not everyone.. But if you wanna do true good in the world and really help move society forward then you're probably going to face a lot of hardship and pain and suffering because of it from the very people you're trying to help. >A further deception of the Bible then, could be that we are led to believe Jesus is our saviour - the one and only. But perhaps in light of the full texts, we can look at Jesus not as a sole saviour, but as an example of how to ignite the saviour within ourselves, and a demonstration of the power one will be rewarded with in order so that they can do more good by following Jesus' example. I like that idea and I tend to resonate with that more than what most people seem to think in regards to the subject. >So, invite you to entertain this theory for a moment; take goodness to the next level, and see what rewards it begets you - even if I am currently lacking the courage to walk that path at the moment. Even if I am wrong about the theory, which I very well may be, the world could certainly benefit from many of us trying harder to do good, and being willing to sacrifice what we hold dearest in order to do the right thing. I hope that soon I will be in a position where I feel I can step onto that same path again, and hopefully, I will not be alone when I do. Well said. I think the world would be much better if we all sacrificed more to help each other. And while I've spent much of my life trying to help, in some ways I've played it safe too.. Not going too far out of my comfort zone so this is a good reminder for me to perhaps step up my game a bit. Definitely gave me something to think about. Thanks for sharing! |

| body | Good effort! I've never really tried to fast more than a day, though a few times when I was sick I went a long time without eating. I did OMAD or one meal a day for 3 years and then eventually felt like I prefer snacking or having a small meal earlier in the day before my big meal. There's some interesting science behind fasting, and some is concerning.. Some people even die fasting.. It can be dangerous.. I did OMAD or one meal a day for 3 years and then eventually felt like I prefer snacking or having a small meal earlier in the day before my big meal.\n\nThere's some interesting science behind fasting, and some is concerning.. Some people even die fasting.. It can be dangerous.. What makes you want to try fasting for so long if you don't mind me asking?",

| body | >I wonder what we can learn about love by looking at the language. The sound in love, "ove", which of course sounds more like "uv," doesn't seem to be too popular a sound in English. Off the top of my head I am thinking dove, glove, oven, cover, covet, govern and government, shovel and above. Figure out what these words all share in common and we might have some sort of clue as to what the fuck love is. May have something to do with being over something? Hmm.. Interesting that it shares a phonetic sound with govern/ment. There's some interesting stuff to read over in the etymological dictionary. https://www.etymonline.com/word/love#etymonline_v_14557 To me love is a positive energy for someone or something which we have an affinity for. Something or someone we "enjoy" and "joy" is one of the words used in the etymological dictionary. I do believe joy is what the word "violet" and "violin" mean, both of those things are things people tend to enjoy, but then we have "violence".. Which.. Makes that theory confusing, even though some do certainly enjoy violence and violence itself isn't always a bad thing.. It just means something like "swift" or a "swift action" like a wave in the ocean can be violent, it doesn't have to be physical fighting or anything necessarily negative like that. Here's a list of words that rhyme with love, numerous of which you already mentioned. http://www.rhymezone.com/r/rhyme.cgi?typeofrhyme=perfect&Word=love Not sure how much we can take away from the similar phonetically sounding words.. They seem quite diverse and quite different from the word love. If you think of anything lemme know, but I'm drawing blanks right now for the most part. >When you say we are all one I have a recurring thought of a similar nature. Much as how every cell in our body make up individual organs and then a greater human being, I wonder if we are acting as cells within organs within a greater whole. I was thinking the other day about the space in between particles they tell us of. Can you imagine if our planet is akin to a particle, and the vastness we call space is like the space between what we call particles? Or if the sun is like a nucleus and the planets are like the protons and electrons that orbit it, then the size of this universe becomes potentially so huge, especially if that universe is then just a cell in an organ in a greater whole. Lol. There's a quick way to make your head hurt. I've thought about that theory quite a bit in the past. And I think there might very well be some truth to it, it makes a lot of sense in an "as above, so below" kind of manner and.. Umm.. If the universe does go on forever maybe that is sort of how it works.. Perhaps there's infinite worlds above and below us that keep expanding and contracting into each other. Maybe just like there are bacteria crawling through our body we are like bacteria crawling on the body of some giant, lol.. It reminds me of a quote by Manly P Hall.. Lemme see if I can find it. "We are the gods of the atoms that make up ourselves but we are also the atoms of the gods that make up the universe." - Manly P. Hall. |

| body | Not sure if I can help there or not. I think for me at least it depends on if I felt that person was "right" for me or not.. I'll never fall out of love with the first woman I fell for because I think she was right for me, though the next 4 women I fell for I have done a pretty good job of falling out of love with them because I realized they didn't treat me well and that's not what I'm looking for. One of them still crops up in my mind from time to time cause I thought she was different, though I keep having to remind myself that if she was different she wouldn't have treated me the way she did. So.. I dunno what's going on in your case, but for me I find that it helps to realize that I "had" an idea in my mind of what I was looking for and I thought those women were that at first, but after a while I discovered that's not who they really were.. And when I realized that's not who they were and that they weren't as nice and loving as I originally thought then it became much easier to let go. Though as I mentioned one of them still crops up in my mind from time to time so it's not always so easy. Yet.. What helps me the most to let go is to keep reminding myself each time she shows up in my mind that.. She wasn't who I thought she was. I shouldn't be so heart broken over someone who ditched me and didn't even feel bad about breaking my trust numerous times and leaving me to fend for myself.. If she had genuinely cared and tried to work with me and such.. That would be different and it'd be more difficult to let go.. But at least in my cases most of these women ended up showing themselves to be much less caring and loving than I thought they were. Hope that helps in some way. |

| title | Is This What the Bible's Really Telling Us? |
| body |
This is my current theory on the secret message conveyed within the many pages of the Bible. I have arrived at this theory based on both reading the Bible, albeit in rather a rushed fashion, and through personal experience. I am not declaring this as truth, but merely as a possibility, and I am currently reading the Bible again far more closely in order to hopefully verify or debunk the following theory.
***
https://cdn.pixabay.com/photo/2017/02/16/23/46/book-2073022_1280.jpg
*** # The Theory For this theory to work we must observe it from the perspective that God is not good. Most who read the Bible find that the actions taken by the God of the old testament are not aligned to their own sense of morality. This is explained away by the inferior capacity of man to discern what is truly right and wrong, but for the purposes of this post I ask you to disregard that notion. We all are imbued with a sense of morality; a heart that leads us towards making the right decisions. It seems wiser for us to trust in that sense we were gifted with at birth, than words written down by an unverifiable source that tell us to ignore it. So if we can consider God to be a perversion of Good, not only in terms of the spelling but in the nature of the entity presented to us, then God's presence in the Bible, becomes an attempt to redefine good. Where the Bible tells us to listen to God's commandments, I would ask you to consider if that should truly be interpreted as, listening to your heart and what your conscience demands of you. When we are told not to take God's name in vain, I would ask you if that should not be understood as doing something for personal gain under the guise of "doing good," as opposed to saying "god damn," which is surely an inconsequential trespass in comparison. Where the Bible tells to be righteous before God, I would ask if that does not sooner mean to make the *right choices* in accordance with your innate sense of what is good, than to follow commands that your heart disagrees with. Looking at God and Good in this light, and wondering if it is more appropriate to put Good before God, rather than the way we are taught - to put God's sense of good before our own, many stories within the Bible start to take a different narrative. One thing that is stressed countless times throughout the Old testament is that if one be righteous, and follow God's commandments, then they will be powerful, able to slay all their enemies, never be sick, and have tons of wealth and servants. But if they betray God's commandments, then they will be weak, afraid, run from enemies that are not even there and be slain by their foes etc etc. If we look at this through the lens of this theory, then the message constantly being reiterated in the Old Testament becomes, if you follow the commandments of Good - of your conscience and what's in your heart - then Good, will look out for you. But if you do not, if you put yourself before others, then you will not be protected by Good. Some will say that this cannot be true, because bad things happen to good people. But do we know this to be true? We cannot know what is in someone's heart, only they can. And, perhaps our definition of what is good is not quite as it should be - as it is described by Jesus. A good man in modern civilisation is someone who takes care of their family and doesn't go out of their way to bring suffering to others. But, how many good men and women, by our definition, take jobs when they know there's not enough to go around, and loans when they know it adds debt to the system and pushes more people out onto the street? I would say that none of us are truly good. We all make choices to protect the ones we love, choices that come at the expense of others in the world or out community. Because doing the right thing has been made extremely difficult in this world, for if we know the system we are currently depending on is causing problems for many, then every choice we make that gives power to and perpetuates that system is not one that Jesus would call "good." In the story of Abraham, we are presented with text that tells us God demanded that Abraham take his most beloved son to sacrifice. But just as Abraham is about to sacrifice his son, God changes His mind, realising that Abraham is loyal to God. A lamb is offered up instead. Now this story paints God as quite the trickster. It seems cruel to do this to a man, and it is definitely cruel according to my sense of morality to murder a lamb. But let's look at this story through a different light. If God is attempting to take the place of good. Then let's look at the story of Abraham from a perspective of Goodness, and not Godliness. What if Abraham lived in a world quite like our own, where doing the right thing is hard, because we need to survive and protect our loved ones, and doing the right thing often seems like putting them in danger or leading them to starvation. If it was not God that demanded Abraham sacrifice his most beloved son, but Abraham's own sense of what is right demanding him to put what is good before the safety of his own family, then the moral of the story becomes something entirely different. Put good first and good will look out for you and your loved ones. It's somewhat paradoxical, as it would suggest that if you want to protect the ones you love the most, the way to do so is to be willing to fail them in order to do the right thing. In recognising that the lives of everyone else are as important as the lives as the ones you hold dearest, and not making decisions that favour your own at a detriment to others, you become good, and good, being a force in itself, chooses to look out for you and your own. If you're having difficult accepting good as a force, consider that an omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent God that is morally perfect would never have to change their mind. They would always know the best course of action to take, and they would always take it, make them essentially without free will. Their path would be predetermined, for there would be only one choice with the greatest good to be made at each instance. So I would say that something that makes the good choice always is more of a force than a sentient entity, and perhaps good is a force in this universe, much like an algorithm or protocol on a blockchain. Make the truly good choice as often as possible and you will grow close to this force, and its power will start to be able to operate through you. This may be why Abraham's son was protected, and why the old testament talks of the rewards and power one will receive by "keeping God's commandments." (Following your conscience to the letter, and doing only what you *know* to be good.) With that said, let's look at the story of Jesus and see if he is not an example of one who put good first, and consequently was imbued with the power of Good. We are told that Jesus was sacrificed for the sins of others. He gave his life and suffered persecution for the people. What does a life of doing good, true good, look like for someone living in today's world? They too would suffer persecution, and very act of doing good is a sacrifice for the people, for it is putting everyone else before the desires of oneself. The story of Jesus, who is called in the first chapter of the New Testament, Emanuel(A manual), appears to be telling the same story as the old testament. That if you are courageous enough to truly put what you know is right first, in spite of the inevitable consequences that will befall you for doing so in a world that is shaped around putting yourself first, then you will be rewarded with the power of the Creator. A further deception of the Bible then, *could* be that we are led to believe Jesus is our saviour - the one and only. But perhaps in light of the full texts, we can look at Jesus not as a sole saviour, but as an example of how to ignite the saviour within ourselves, and a demonstration of the power one will be rewarded with in order so that they can do more good by following Jesus' example. But as long as we who believe in a higher power wait patiently for a saviour to come along, we will never find within ourselves the self-belief to become our own saviours, and the saviours of others in need. So perhaps we should listen to the message repeatedly alluded to so many times throughout the old testament - be righteous(choose right), and you will have everything you need, and access to the innate power to shape the world that has always lied within you.
*** ##
Thanks for reading!
***
*It would be far more fruitful for me to spend my time seeking than surviving, so if you would like to help with a donation so that I can have more time to be reading, researching, deliberating and sharing my findings, then I thank you for any contributions to my BTC address. **15ys7RiuzXRhEcsPn8cb37W1RPqnph2BX9***
*** #####
All opinions on this blog are subject to change upon new information and fresher understandings
***
***All images on this blog are free to use or created by me personally***
#
Follow @the.seeker for more
|

And they said, So do, as thou hast said. 6 And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth. 7 And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it. 8 And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat. 9 And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent. 10 And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him. 11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. 12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also? 13 And the Lord said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old? 14 Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son. 15 Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh. 16 And the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom: and Abraham went with them to bring them on the way. 17 And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; 18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? 19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him. 20 And the Lord said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; 21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. 22 And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the Lord. 23 And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? 24 Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein? 25 That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? 26 And the Lord said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes. 27 And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes: 28 Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it. 29 And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty's sake. 30 And he said unto him, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there. 31 And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty's sake. 32 And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake. 33 And the Lord went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place. > I have nothing to say about this chapter beyond Abraham having some next level bargaining skills. Verse 17 also sounds quite mysterious, unless I am missing something obvious. Hopefully the following chapter has more for me to comment upon. |

| body | I did manage to complete 3 days but at about 80 hours into my fast, I ended up having a very large meal lol. I am not going to make any excuses. I was not feeling ill or weak at that point. I actually felt quite good. My problem was just mental weakness, as it was more the habit of eating that broke me than hunger itself. I had been silly enough to surround myself with people who were constantly eating and that is a mistake I shall not repeat next time I attempt the 30 day fast which will be very soon, as I have eaten like a king since breaking my fast and feel I will be ready to try again before long. |

| body | Yeah I think trust is important for any healthy relationship, romantic in nature or not. I wonder what we can learn about love by looking at the language. "ove" showing up in over too. Doesn't support my theory that love is what's underneath all the rest of the shit lol. You're right, we don't always love our families. I was going to say "loved ones" but thought I was using the word love too often lol When you say we are all one I have a recurring thought of a similar nature. Lol. There's a quick way to make your head hurt. |

| body | >Trust is surely something we have to build upon with others. But trust is not love. Trust may not be love, but I think they are connected and that if you love someone there is usually a desire for trust with them and also I think a good "healthy" loving relationship should have trust as a major aspect of it. >Perhaps then love is what we discover when we begin to dissolve the boundaries we divide ourselves behind I'm not sure anyone really knows what love is, though to me it is similar to the word "care" and if we love something we tend to care about it. The word love itself appears to be connected to "free" also and "friend", so I think love especially in a romantic sense is connected to wanting the best for someone and not trying to control them. >Why do we feel so close and so loving towards one another when under the influence of some psychedelic drugs? Is it because the drugs miraculously create the love and allow it to shine through us? Or is it far more simply, that the drugs relax those walls that life in modern society forced us to put up between one another? I think it's probably more of the latter? I can't say for sure though. >What is the reasoning behind many people's ability to love animals so much easier than humans? Is it perhaps because they needn't worry about fearing judgement or ridicule from their pets, and consequently fewer barriers make it easier for them to catch sight of the love that already exists underneath? Yeah.. I think so.. I've heard so many people say stuff like.. "My dog or cat will never judge me".. So I think that's a major aspect as people seem to fear being judged in a negative manner and want to be "unconditionally" loved if that is even possible. >Why do we love our families so fiercely? Is it because we've spent so much time with them, that our love has grown? Or could it be because the comfort we feel around them to be ourselves, that we may not feel with everyone else, relaxes our defensive boundaries and allows us to experience the love burning brightly inside? I believe this one is mixed.. And definitely not the same for everyone.. Some people can't stand their family, but in general.. I think maybe there's an aspect of "like kind" and "blood" so to speak that creates a form of loyalty but also the aspect you mentioned similar to a dog or cat or animal which doesn't judge AS MUCH, like a love from a parent can often be so strong that.. They will love you no matter what you do.. For example my mom is like that, I think she's really close to unconditional love.. I could probably go rape and murder and do everything horrible and she would still be there to accept and love me.. Whereas that is much less common the further out you get in terms of relationships with people. >Why does love for a romantic partner often seem to be the most powerful of loves? Is it because sex amplifies love? Or is there any chance it is because our lover is normally the person who knows us the best; who we lower every boundary for; and who we allow to see us naked in both a physical and a metaphorical sense, creating the best opportunity for the full intensity of our love to be exchanged through the absence of divisive barriers? Good questions and interesting thoughts.. I'm not sure here.. But I do think it is probably similar to the other loves in regards to accepting someone even the "bad" "unpleasant" parts or the parts we don't show to most people. And I think there's perhaps a deeper element there in regards to procreation and even in relationships where there is no procreation a lover in romantic sense is sort of like the most pure mirror we can find, they are not a peer or authority like parents or a submissive like a pet and are similar to a "friend" perhaps but I think even deeper in the sense that we tell them almost everything or at least a lot more than we tend to tell our regular friends. >If love is an underlying current, waiting to be discovered between any two human beings brave enough to break down the walls that lie between them: then how can we take this information and put it to good use in becoming more loving people? I like how you worded that! I think I need to work on being more accepting in general.. But especially in regards to my search for romance. >Why don't we feel an overwhelming love for the homeless person asleep on the side of the road? Would recognising the barriers we've put in place to prevent ourselves getting hurt by them help us to love them? It would be hurtful, given their position, for us to know that their life is just as important as our own. And yet to understand that their existence holds an infinite amount of possible futures that could shape the world in any manner of significance - just like our own - reveals to us that their life is just as important as our own. It would be painful to accept that we are responsible for the position they've found themselves in. And yet to realise that we've played a role in perpetuating the system that has left them without a roof over their head, would alert us to the fact that we are indeed partially responsible. It would be more burdensome still to accept that we might have the power to better their position, but that perhaps only fear of failure, or of losing some comfort from our own lives prevents us from doing so. And yet if we took a moment we would know that we do have the power and we are making the conscious decision not to help. This is interesting.. I was just talking about this the other day with a woman on the dating sites and she was complaining about all the homeless people where she lives and I mentioned how I try to give them a lil food or money when I see them and she said I'm just doing it to make myself feel better and I'm not really helping them and.. I responded that she might be right in some ways, but that I just like to help people and I feel like the world needs more empathy and people who want to help others. And I've also been thinking about this same sort of stuff in a more general sense in regards to how I've spent much of my life trying to help the world whereas most people seem to be all focused on themselves and their new car and house and blah blah blah, but meanwhile we're destroying the planet in our quest for material shit.. And especially after getting more into the spiritual idea that we're all "one" and doing a number of spirit quests with psychedelics I've further gone down that route of believing that we are all indeed sort of "one" even if we are different and unique as well, but that there's something that unites us and that I believe we all come from the same source and are essentially just the same consciousness in different bodies and lifetimes and that if we hurt others or ignore them or love them, then we are either hurting ourselves or ignoring ourselves or loving ourselves in a reflective manner based on how we treat others. Maybe if more people treated the homeless people and the animals and just anyone and everyone like they were "ourselves" like the Golden Rule and what Christianity and virtually every other major religion has taught then the world wouldn't be so incredibly messed up.. That "separation" from source and loving others like we love ourselves I think is one of the main problems which can be traced back to most of the main problems we face in the world. >Within these three observations, we find the making of three barriers that we rely on to protect us from loving that stranger on the side of the road. Because love and compassion invite the potential for hurt, and the call to action that we'd be far more comfortable ignoring. While I bet there are far more than three barriers between each and everyone of us, identifying them and finding the bravery to overcome them, may be the best possible approach to maximising love in our lives. Well said.. I highly agree. I think the more we can extend the love we have for ourselves to others the better things will be not just for us, but for others as well as the "collective" state of things on the planet as well. |

I can't say for sure though. \n\n>What is the reasoning behind many people's ability to love animals so much easier than humans? Is it perhaps because they needn't worry about fearing judgement or ridicule from their pets, and consequently fewer barriers make it easier for them to catch sight of the love that already exists underneath?\n\nYeah.. I think so.. I've heard so many people say stuff like.. \"My dog or cat will never judge me\".. So I think that's a major aspect as people seem to fear being judged in a negative manner and want to be \"unconditionally\" loved if that is even possible. \n\n>Why do we love our families so fiercely? Is it because we've spent so much time with them, that our love has grown? Or could it be because the comfort we feel around them to be ourselves, that we may not feel with everyone else, relaxes our defensive boundaries and allows us to experience the love burning brightly inside?\n\nI believe this one is mixed.. And definitely not the same for everyone.. Some people can't stand their family, but in general.. I think maybe there's an aspect of \"like kind\" and \"blood\" so to speak that creates a form of loyalty but also the aspect you mentioned similar to a dog or cat or animal which doesn't judge AS MUCH, like a love from a parent can often be so strong that.. They will love you no matter what you do.. For example my mom is like that, I think she's really close to unconditional love.. I could probably go rape and murder and do everything horrible and she would still be there to accept and love me.. Whereas that is much less common the further out you get in terms of relationships with people. \n\n>Why does love for a romantic partner often seem to be the most powerful of loves? Is it because sex amplifies love? Or is there any chance it is because our lover is normally the person who knows us the best; who we lower every boundary for; and who we allow to see us naked in both a physical and a metaphorical sense, creating the best opportunity for the full intensity of our love to be exchanged through the absence of divisive barriers?\n\nGood questions and interesting thoughts.. I'm not sure here.. But I do think it is probably similar to the other loves in regards to accepting someone even the \"bad\" \"unpleasant\" parts or the parts we don't show to most people. And I think there's perhaps a deeper element there in regards to procreation and even in relationships where there is no procreation a lover in romantic sense is sort of like the most pure mirror we can find, they are not a peer or authority like parents or a submissive like a pet and are similar to a \"friend\" perhaps but I think even deeper in the sense that we tell them almost everything or at least a lot more than we tend to tell our regular friends. \n\n>If love is an underlying current, waiting to be discovered between any two human beings brave enough to break down the walls that lie between them: then how can we take this information and put it to good use in becoming more loving people?\n\nI like how you worded that! I think I need to work on being more accepting in general.. But especially in regards to my search for romance.\n\n>Why don't we feel an overwhelming love for the homeless person asleep on the side of the road? And yet if we took a moment we would know that we do have the power and we are making the conscious decision not to help.\n\nThis is interesting.. \n\nAnd I've also been thinking about this same sort of stuff in a more general sense in regards to how I've spent much of my life trying to help the world whereas most people seem to be all focused on themselves and their new car and house and blah blah blah, but meanwhile we're destroying the planet in our quest for material shit.. And especially after getting more into the spiritual idea that we're all \"one\" and doing a number of spirit quests with psychedelics I've further gone down that route of believing that we are all indeed sort of \"one\" even if we are different and unique as well, but that there's something that unites us and that I believe we all come from the same source and are essentially just the same consciousness in different bodies and lifetimes and that if we hurt others or ignore them or love them, then we are either hurting ourselves or ignoring ourselves or loving ourselves in a reflective manner based on how we treat others.\n\nMaybe if more people treated the homeless people and the animals and just anyone and everyone like they were \"ourselves\" like the Golden Rule and what Christianity and virtually every other major religion has taught then the world wouldn't be so incredibly messed up.. That \"separation\" from source and loving others like we love ourselves I think is one of the main problems which can be traced back to most of the main problems we face in the world.\n\n>Within these three observations, we find the making of three barriers that we rely on to protect us from loving that stranger on the side of the road. Because love and compassion invite the potential for hurt, and the call to action that we'd be far more comfortable ignoring. While I bet there are far more than three barriers between each and everyone of us, identifying them and finding the bravery to overcome them, may be the best possible approach to maximising love in our lives.\n\nWell said.. I highly agree. I think the more we can extend the love we have for ourselves to others the better things will be not just for us, but for others as well as the \"collective\" state of things on the planet as well.",
