      "json_metadata": "{\"app\":\"Musing\",\"appTags\":[\"Steem\",\"steemit\"],\"appCategory\":\"Steem\",\"appTitle\":\"What are \\\"Claimed accounts\\\" on Steem?\",\"appBody\":\"<p>The concept of claimed account is a new, shall we call it, \\\"innovation\\\" on the steem blockchain that aims to remedy the burden that was present in the past in regards to onboarding new users.</p><p>Previously in the history of the steem blockchain, when users wanted to open a new account, they had to go through a signup process that would require them to wait days and sometimes even weeks to get the account verified so that they could begin the esteemed journey on the steem blockchain. </p><p>This was not working out well, seeing as most users get frustrated some users cant even register and pretty much the process wasn't easy and conducive enough to attract new users on.</p><p>If you have a platform and you want people to get on it, then it lies on you, the responsibility is yours to make sure that that platform is as easy to get into as possible.</p><p>And how do you make your platform easy to get into? By making it so that the registration process is easy and seamless as it can be. Steem registration was not like that.  </p><p>The problem, indeed, was that there was a requirement of steem power needed to access the blockchain. In the past to access the ste blockchain you needed to expend a resource which was termed the bandwidth. And you get this bandwidth by having steem power. But now to make it easier during the hard fork 20 (HF20) the witnesses decided to replace the bandwidth requirements with \\\"resource credit\\\". </p><p>The presence of resource credit means that useRs no longer need to have steem power to access the bandwidth needed to interact with the blockchain. Now what you need is a resource credit.</p><p>It is still also linked to your steem power in a way, but not necessarily in the way that will make it so that if you don't have steem power you cant access the blockchain. </p><p>Now users with a lot of steem power can claim an account with their own resource credit at a discount so that when next a user is planning to open a steem account all that he or she has to do is take one of those pending claimed account that the users with the high sp has already claimed and install to use it for his or her own until he or she can build their own steam power.</p><p>This in effect has made it easier for new users to register and get on the blockchain. And most importantly it has also made it easier for our decentralised digital applications (like this one, musing.io,) to claim accounts of their own and onboard new users on their platform with it.</p><p>We've seen a lot of DApps do this--including the major ones like steemhunt and dlive and even musing has already a few claimed accounts.</p><p>Sadly like I said you'd need to have a certain amount of steem power/ resource credits yourself to be able to claim pending accounts at a discounted rate, so it's probably not for everyone. So he knew what not to do.\n\nHe picked the tall chair at the extreme end of the bar, adjacent to the bartender, just as you'd pick your favorite solitary chair in your living room. But it was not solitude he sought. It was a rather special company.\n\n\"Can I interest you in some idle talk?\"\nHe said, taking his seat with a bit of effort.\n\nHe spoke the words with an heaviness; a languorous language with which old friends who had fallen out reconciled. \n\nThe man to which he spoke looked just like him: same grey stubble beard, same receding hairline with a hint of untimely grayness here and there. They must have both been in their early forties, but looked, and spoke, no less than seventy.\n\n\"Idle talk is the only thing that interests me.\"\nThe other man replied. His voice was stronger and deeper. He had an empty cup in front of him.\n\n\"Another bottle, please.\"\nHe called to the bartender with his baritone.\n\nThe bartender arrived with a bottle.\n\n\"Open it please.\"\n\nThe bartender opened the bottle and poured its content into the glass.\n\n\"One for my -- *friend* here, please.\"\n\nThe bartender brought an empty glass and poured. After he had left the two *friends* toasted to the passage of time and got intimate. \n\n\"Why'd you make him open it?\"\nThe man who had walked in asked, adjusting on his seat, getting used to it. The man who had been seated earlier, with the stronger voice, said:\n\n\"Because opening bottles is what makes a drunkard.\"\n\n\"Tolstoy?\"\nThe man who walked in said.\n\nThey spoke with voices and gestures bearing a concoction of boredom depression and indifference.\n\n\"It isn't Tolstoy.\"\n\n\"Well I'll be damned. Who was it then?\"\n\n\"I can't remember either.\"\n\nHe poured another round into each glasses.\n\n\"Well we don't need to remember, do we? All we need is a good sleep. She'll help us sleep.\"\n\n\"Another toast to the passage of time then?\"\n\n\"Hear hear!\"\n\nThe men drank. And smacked their tongues and squinted their faces, synchronously, like old friends.\n\n\"Didn't he say it was solitary drinking?\"\n\n\"What?\"\n\n\"You know, what makes drunkards. Didn't he say it was solitary drinking and not opening bottles?\"\n\n\"Who?\"\n\n\"I don't know.\"\n\n\"We're not that old not to remember.\"\n\n\"How about another toast then?\"\n\nThe two men poured themselves another drink and another and called upon the bartender to open another bottle.\n\n\"You think he's a drunkard?\" The man who had been seated earlier said. \"He must have opened a lot of bottles in his lifetime.\"\n\n\"He's definitely one. I bet he drinks alone.\"\n\n\"He's such a fine one, though, isnt he?\"\n\n\"The fine ones make the most deplorable drinkards.\"\n\n\"True.\"\n\n\"Why do you think he works as a bartender?\"\nThe man who had entered said.\n\n\"Cos he's a drinkard?\"\n\nThe two men appeared very completely drunk now, and laughed as hard as the drink could take them. Which was quite far.\n\n\"We should toast to not being drunkards.\"\nThe man who had been seated said.\n\n\"We should. Hey boy. Fine boy. Pour us another drink will ya?.\"\n\nThe bartender edged closer, and eyed them both with a look filled with immense scorn and genuine pity at the same time.\n\n\"Say, boy. Why'd you become a bartender in the first place?\"\nThe man who had been seated asked.\n\n\"You've had too much to drink, uncle.\" The bartender said. \"You should probably leave.\"\n\nThe man who had been seated laughed and the man who had walked in laughed with him. \n\n\"Yoy don't dictate to me, boy.\" The man who had been seated said, \"now go back to opening bottles.\"\n\nThey both laughed again.\n\n\"You think he's really a drunkard?\"\nThe man who had walked in asked.\n\n\"No. No he's not. He's such a fine boy.\"\n\n***\n\nAt this point both their voices had became sober; even the one with the strong voice now had a tremulous vibration.\n\n\"You think *we're* the drunkards?\"\nHe said.\n\n\"No. No of course we're not.\"\n\n\"Yes?\"\n\n\"Sure. Sure we're not.\"\n\nThey both remained sober then, and silent.\n\n\"I still see the fire.\"\nThe man who had entered said, suddenly. There was fear in his voice, like a man facing his demons for the thousandth time, having lost the battle the previous 999 times.\n\n\"Don't.\"\nThe man who had been seated said, quietly, calmly.\n\n\"I still --\"\n\n\"I said don't! Don' talk--about the fire!\"\n\nIt was an angry outburst that drew the attention of everyone in the bar. The man who had walked in remained calm, though, as if he had not even heard his *friend*, being so occupied with himself; with his demons.\n\n\"Last time I saw her she -- she told me --\"\n\n\"Don't talk about her! I swear if you talk about her once again-- one more time i swear it! I swear I'll break this frigging bottle on your damn head. I swear I will.\"\n\nThe man who had entered sprang up now, with such strength as though he had been saving it. \n\n\"I still see the fire!\"\nHe shouted, gritting his teeth with passion. Stomping the bar floor with tears materializing on his face. \"I still *see* the fire.\" He said again. \"And I swear I see you there every time! Laughing! Scorning me!\"\n\n\"I absolved you of your pain!\"\n\n\"No. No you didn't, you stupid idiot! You took her from me!! You made it worse!\"\n\nIn a second both men found themselves rolling on the bar floor, exchanging blows. The man who had been seated was on top, connecting his fist with the other man's jaw. \n\n\"Do it!\" The man who had entered screamed unintelligibly, pinned under heavy blows, blood spilling out his mouth. \"Do it, you devillish bastard!\"\n\nThe people in the bar looked on with indifference, until the young bartender rushed out, with a couple other men, and separated them. They were yelling at each other, the two old men, and crying at the same time.\n\nThey were led out then, through separate exits. It was raining hard but they would not let them back in. \n\n\"See you tomorrow, nephew then.\"\nThe man who had been seated shouted from the rain, still crying.\n\nThe young bartender went back inside bar then, walking briskly towards the kitchen. There he saw a tall beautiful lady with hair packed under a bonnet, removing her apron.\n\n\"Its uncle Joe and Mark again.\"\nThe bartender said.\n\n\"I know.\"\nThe lady said, packing her things into a bag.\n\n\"Who started it this time?\"\n\n\"It was hard to tell.\"\n\n\"Who hit first?\"\n\n\"Uncle Joe, I think.\"\n\n\"Oh.
