(<em>See links at end of this article</em>)</p>\n<p>Our plan was to raise awareness up the coast and back...&nbsp;</p>\n<p>https://steemitimages.com/DQmNQd4htnx9AD9EjugV7esFhhPukj2TEH2zsRaQq1XmR5m/Map%20coast.jpg Image Source: Google Maps </p>\n<p>Sharing our story, seeing friends and family, making new friends, seeing the towns, and helping various projects/communities along the way...&nbsp;</p>\n<p>While building systems that can support this as a lifestyle/ ongoing (i.e. fundraising for an RV) via a strong sponsorship base (of businesses/organizations, friends, and family)...&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>December 19th &amp; 20th:</strong></p>\n<p>#1 priority to make this possible was having a car that runs well,&nbsp;</p>\n<p>We went out to <a href=\"https://www.oxnard.org/\">Oxnard</a> to purchase an air mattress (<a href=\"https://www.dickssportinggoods.com/p/intex-comfort-plush-queen-air-mattress-with-built-in-pump-17itxucmfrtplshqncsl/17itxucmfrtplshqncsl?recid=Product_PageElement_product_rr_1_3488_&amp;rrec=true\">Intex Queen Raised Air Mattress</a> from <a href=\"https://www.dickssportinggoods.com/\">Dick's</a>), and the spirit guided us to complete various errands that also would make this tour much smoother for all...</p>\n<p>We received an oil change at <a href=\"https://www.jiffylube.com/\">Jiffy Lube</a>! We went over and checked in! This is that moment where 2 years comes to focused action/ what can we build together, that serves us both, that is purposeful, and good for all... Woohoo!! And he wants to see us, and drives all the way to <a href=\"http://sunburst.org/\">Sunburst</a> to meet up! So cool! Connecting with many along the way... Our friend, a \"soil science major\", got to talk about biochar and his various knowledges of permaculture, and the <a href=\"http://sunburst.org/\">Sunburst</a> leadership got to showcase all their food forests, buildings, and spaces..</p>\n<p>Until the whole lodge begins to vibrate/ loud!! We look up in the sky, and it appears like some sort of unidentified flying object.. government related? or other worldly? Who knows?!! We said our final good byes, as 2 parts slowly came together, we prepared for the \"end of the world\"... It ended up being a <a href=\"https://www.theverge.com/2017/12/26/16820028/jesse-watson-photographer-time-lapse-spacexs-falcon-9\">Spacex rocket launch</a>.. Which is pretty cool.. From the Vandenburg Air Force Base.... All is well, we said our goodbyes to our friend, who then headed home...</p>\n<p>Deb and I went to the office, motivated, to further build systems for the tour... We called Dave 1st! He was open, and ready to see us... Deb never lets a hair get out of line! Not for a moments time! ;)</p>\n<p>A BIG ENERGY CAME THROUGH.... and the word was....</p>\n<p>Deb feels complete with this tour, and ready to return home for rest and rejuvenation... and Doron is ready for Hawaii..</p>\n<p>So we worked out some initial planning and discussions for our next phases/ directions...</p>\n<p>And on to bed to get some well-needed sleep!!</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><strong>December 28th:</strong></p>\n<p>We woke super-focused... as both of us had a super clear directive by spirit!&nbsp;</p>\n<p>The 4 hour jaunt up to Marin was just not in the cards... With the check engine light on.. with our trip's costs adding up... And Deb exhausted, hoping for \"another level\" of \"rest and rejuvenation\"....</p>\n<p>Deb wanted to help Doron's transition go super smooth (whichever direction that took), and Doron wanted to help make sure Deb got home to rest, in the most ease and grace way...</p>\n<p>We worked super well together... as Doron narrows down the options, and removes \"up the coast\" from the list... and narrows the choice of islands down to Maui!!</p>\n<p>We cleaned up the whole space at our SLO home... adding our touches; extra toilet paper, paper towels, doing the laundry, cleaning stove/countertops, vacuuming, sweeping, and filling up food bowls for the cat... and we packed up our stuff with focus!</p>\n<p>We determined that Doron would drive Deb back to <a href=\"http://ojaicity.org/\">Ojai</a> to unload some of her things to make it easy... and we would spend 2 more nights in <a href=\"https://www.oxnard.org/\">Oxnard</a>... to wrap up our tour... and send Doron on his way to LAX, to go to Maui...&nbsp;</p>\n<p>We booked a flight, we booked a shuttle to the airport, and booked our hotel nights at... you guessed it, <a href=\"https://www.motel6.com/#/home\">Motel 6</a>....</p>\n<p>All was perfect and complete, and we were ready to go! On we went, direction- <a href=\"http://ojaicity.org/\">Ojai</a>, California!</p>\n<p>With a stop at <a href=\"https://www.mcdonalds.com/us/en-us.html\">McDonalds</a> along the way :)</p>\n<p>Doron helped Deb unload, and get everything just right, back to her comfort zone... And Deb received a wonderful Christmas present at the door, from a very good friend! And it was perfect! We were aiming to go out &nbsp;for pizza, and in that gift was an <a href=\"http://theonlygoodpizza.com/\">Ojai Pizza</a> gift card, and other super cool items too!</p>\n<p>With the home in good order.. on to <a href=\"http://theonlygoodpizza.com/\">Ojai Pizza</a>! &nbsp;We had a wonderful time, great service, amazing food! Even though we weren’t sure we could really afford the extra cost of things like catching a movie….Expenses were climbing fast, but in came great news!!! Someone on the </strong><a href=\"http://ojaicity.org/\"><strong>Ojai</strong></ins></a><strong> FB groups said to look into Renters Insurance..</strong><br><br>\n<strong>We called </strong><a href=\"https://www.metlife.com/\"><strong>Met Life</strong></ins></a><strong>, and the customer service was outstanding! Thank goodness for Renters Insurance, (especially to Deb’s amazing landlady who advised it :) )....&amp; thank you </strong><a href=\"https://www.metlife.com/\"><strong>Met Life</strong></ins></a><strong>!</strong><br><br>\n<strong>What a breath of fresh air.. The perfect fit!</strong><br><br>\n<strong>So we drove over there, and the team at </strong><a href=\"http://sunburst.org/\"><strong>Sunburst</strong></ins></a><strong> was open to the visit!</strong><br><br>\n<strong>It was really nice to connect with the leaders there at </strong><a href=\"http://sunburst.org/\"><strong>Sunburst</strong></ins></a><strong>, such an amazing group! We found another home at </strong><a href=\"http://sunburst.org/\"><strong>Sunburst</strong></ins></a><strong> :)</strong><br><br>\n<strong>And we would have definitely taken them up on their offer, to stay in their cabins, but the Renters Insurance wanted us to stay as comfortable as we could… to stay in the hotel, as long as we needed to! And more rest! And more rest!!!</strong><br><br>\n<strong>And then the skies showed signs of blue!!! Great news!!! The smoke finally cleared!!!</strong><br><br>\n<strong>And then Doron’s 2 week stay was nearing an end, so we tuned into that tour up the west coast that we were readying to take before the fires came in…</strong><br><br>\n<strong>And with a “very focused new purpose”, to support the families that have lost their homes in </strong><a href=\"http://ojaicity.org/\"><strong>Ojai</strong></ins></a><strong>, and the surrounding areas..
