titleDealing with merchant accounts.......
bodyBuried deep in the agreement is a clause that says they can go into your bank account and take and hold a bunch of money. 2003 things are humming along pretty good. 2.5 million in sales. Profits look good. Margins in check. Cash flow good to go. Friday is payday for my employees. About a $10,000 dollar payroll best I can recall. No problem $35,000 in the bank, on Wednesday. Thursday morning do the routine pulse of the business check and find out $30,000 has been taken out of the business checking account, Panic ensues......NO MONEY FOR PAYROLL......... No matter how great of a manager you are, if the the people who work for you don't get paid there will be severe consequences. So turns out the merchant account company did a risk assessment on us and even though we did not have a chargeback in 3 years of doing $50,000 a month with them thought it was a good idea to hold 30k for 6 months as a security measure. Thank god my partner had deep pockets or it was game over. LESSON LEARNED: Never have you main business bank account connected to a merchant account company. Have multiple bank accounts at different banks......Never happened again

titleAlcoholic, Serial Failed Entrepreneur. Hows that for an introduction?
bodyMy name is Tim, I started my first company 3 weeks before my 18th birthday. I am 49 next month. As for the alcoholism I guess it was my inheritance, Grandfathers and Grandmothers on both sides ,Mother,Father,4 of my 5 brothers and 2 sisters all have it. 3 brothers died from it young. Another one is well on his way. I will most likely die from alcohol related illnesses. It's just a family thing. Yeah its been a crazy life but a a lot of fun. I have been technically a millionaire twice. But never had a million cash. Went bankrupt twice once in 1998 for 500k and 2008 for 2 million. The stories I am going to tell will be 100% true. For some reason this platform feels like a place to finally tell my stories. I am not sure how many companies I have started but it is somewhere in the neighborhood of 20. Some failed immediately. Some exploded into multi million dollar operations almost immediately. I will write about all of it. All my mistakes, how to avoid the government parasites that are actively working to crush creative entrepreneurs. When I say failed I really mean by the tradition score keeping sense.....Money. But I am still self employed. Am completely under the radar and earn my family 2 grand this week. So failure is a relative term. When you get older ego is less important than results. I have not filed taxes in 8 years. Drive without a license for 7 years.(30 year old excise tax believe that shit) Have 3 kids. 22 year old daughter smart as hell studying Biology 24 year old son into sales. Killing it. 6 year old daughter. All kinds of awesome. Thank you for having me and hopefully some of the stories I am going to tell will help some of the younger entrepreneurs avoid some pitfalls.

I have been technically a millionaire twice. But never had a million cash. Went bankrupt twice once in 1998 for 500k and 2008 for 2 million. The stories I am going to tell will be 100% true. For some reason this platform feels like a place to finally tell my stories. \n\n I am not sure how many companies I have started but it is somewhere in the neighborhood of 20. Some failed immediately. Some exploded into multi million dollar operations almost immediately. I will write about all of it. All my mistakes, how to avoid the government parasites that are actively working to crush creative entrepreneurs.\n\n When I say failed I really mean by the tradition score keeping sense.....Money. But I am still self employed. Am completely under the radar and earn my family 2 grand this week. So failure is a relative term. When you get older ego is less important than results. \n\nI have not filed taxes in 8 years.\nDrive without a license for 7 years.(30 year old excise tax believe that shit)\nHave 3 kids.\n22 year old daughter smart as hell studying Biology\n24 year old son into sales. Killing it.\n6 year old daughter. All kinds of awesome.\n\nThank you for having me and hopefully some of the stories I am going to tell will help some of the younger entrepreneurs avoid some pitfalls.",

titleAlcoholic, Serial Failed Entrepreneur.
