      "body": "When it comes to essays and philosophical reflections, nothing hits home more than reality. *Listen, Little Man* by Wilhelm Reich is quite important when it comes to self discovery. It comes from the perspective of a physician with regard to how people will consistently put their self into misery and disregard great men/women for their own personal greed and lust for power. It remarks on how men will choose by their own free will to side with religion, nationality, right/left wing extremism as an escape from personal responsibility and fear and how most people will fall to give up their freedom to states and corrupt powers.\n\n\n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmXuQzeG7JVBaH6xVyw4QSXFfgrXeVdwBKGbnmR4aHQwWm/image.png)\n\nThe goal of the essay is to try to get the reader to personally reflect on their self and their life decisions and responsible action. *\"You let men in power assume power ‘for the Little Man’. But you yourself remain silent. You give men in power or impotent people with evil intentions the power to represent you. Only too late do you realize that again and again you are being defrauded\"*. Most people in Wilhelm's opinion have an overarching ego that makes them afraid of criticism and adjustment for change. It makes them narrow-minded and dangerous both to society and their self. \n\nTo Wilhelm most people will continue to want new masters to lead them, and their own greatness/success is only derived by great men and not personal achievement. Most people will give up their freedoms and give into their fears, starving and murdering great men over their own desire to be controlled. *\"You must come to realize that you made your little men your own oppressors, and that you made martyrs out of your truly great men; that you crucified and murdered them and let them starve; that you did not give a thought to them and their labors for you; that you have no idea to whom you owe whatever fulfillments there are in your life.\"*\n\nA major thought experiment behind people is the comparison between the great and little man and how it juxtaposes each other. *\"You call him ‘asocial’ because he prefers the study, with his thoughts, or the laboratory, with his work, to your empty, babbling social ‘parties’. You call him crazy because he spends his money for scientific research instead of buying bonds and stocks, as you do. You presume, Little Man, in your bottomless degeneration, to call the simple, straightforward man ‘abnormal: as compared with you, the prototype of ‘normality’, the ‘homo normalis’. You measure him with your petty yardsticks and find that he does not meet the demands of your normality\"*. More so there is an observable truth when most people drive great men away from their social life because of their supposed lack of normality that most people have, by differing opinions and lifestyles.\n\nContempt and jealousy of other people is another big factor that keeps people from developing ideas and becoming great. Again, referring to the ego of most people *\"You do not believe that your friend could [be] something great. Secretly, you despise yourself, even when – or particularly when - you make the greatest display of your dignity; and since you despise yourself you cannot respect him who is your friend. You cannot believe that somebody who sat at the table with you or lived in the same house with you could achieve anything great\".* It is another true statement, and something I often see even in Engineering when colleagues say \"I would never consider buying a hedge fund from you because you are young\" or \"we are too stupid to develop a process\". That same negativity and self-doubt prevents people from working hard and often creates jealousy in people who do work hard.\n\n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmeXafBp4mSEjrRMNBNqZirDTL6SXKHrGDi9P6iDHrA2Dk/image.png)\n\nAnd rather than developing character and achievement, most people will attempt to find blame in others for their short-comings. They instead attempt to find some form of power or \"institutional\" reason for why they themselves fail in life. *\"That’s the way you drivel, Little Man. From your drivel you create armed formations and these slay ten million people as ‘Jews’ though you cannot even tell what a Jew is. That’s why one laughs at you, why one avoids you when one has serious work to do, that’s why you stick in the moras\"*. The same is said today when the alt-right looks at Jews, how the conservatives blame the left, how the left blames conservatives, how people look to identity politics and \"institutional racism\" to make them feel superior. And because of this according to Wilhelm,  *\"you have to do that because you really feel miserable. And you feel miserable because you are precisely that which you murder\"*. It is a demonstrably sharp observation.\n\nFurthermore, people don't help each other to produce great ideas. They merely let the great worker put in years of their life into research and development then \"devour\" their happiness by taking the ideas and using it for their own personal gain.  *\" No, Little Man, you never come to your helper to help. You play cards, or you yell yourself hoarse at a prizefight, or you slave away dully in an office or a mine. But never do you come to help your helper. You know why? Because the discoverer, to begin with has nothing to offer but thoughts. No profit, no higher wages, no union contract, no Christmas bonus and no easy way of living. You want to be free to like your own religion. Well and good. But you want more than that: you want your religion to be the only one. You are tolerant as to your religion, but not tolerant as to others. You become rabid when somebody, instead of a personal God, adores nature and tries to understand it. You want a marital partner to sue the other, to accuse him or her of immorality or brutality when they no longer can live together\"*.  There are not many people today who understand this, and together there is constant infighting in countries over their religion and lying about how tolerant they are toward each other. Instead they create hate speech laws and try to force their selves into employment positions and power based on what they believe in while simultaneously believing that \"human beings are the children of God\".\n\nOn the basis of fear, most people are willing to take and use the achievements of others for their own gain, *\"the fate of great achievement, born from a way of living which sets truth before security , is this: to be greedily devoured by you and to be shit out again by you\"*.  Wilhelm describes most people as users, as people take the teachings of great men and distort it for their own use without understanding the full context. And free expression of ideas is often neutered by the thought of what other people are going to think about them so many hide and detest their ideas. This is further expanded upon through many cases of history, such as Nietzsche's elevation to the Umbermensch and Hitler's degradation into the Umbermensch and between the cruelty of Robespierre in the French Revolution and Danton. And again most people won't derive happiness because they have nothing to add. *\"You are clever but; psychically constipated, you are unable to create. Thus, you steal a bone and crawl into a hole to chew it up, as Freud told you once. You congregate around the voluntary giver, the cheerful spender, and suck him dry. You are the sucker and, perversely, you call him the sucker. You gorge yourself with his knowledge, his happiness, his greatness, but you cannot digest what you have swallowed.\"*\n\nA few simple guides are laid out. \n\n-Build your house on rock. The rock is your own nature, which you kill in yourself, the bodily love of your child, the dream of love of your wife, your own dream of life\n-Exchange your illusions for a bit of truth\n-Send your politicians and diplomats packing\n-Forget your neighbor and listen to what is in you\n-Tell your fellow works that you are willing to work for life only, and no longer for death.\n-Protect the love of your small children against the attacks of lascivious, ungratified women and men\n-Prosecute the gossiping spinster and expose her publicly\n-Do not try to outdo your exploiter in exploitation when you are in a position to guide work\n-Don't ask for a license to embrace your wife\n-Make contact with people in other countries for they are like you\n-Let your child grow up as nature has made it\n-Don't try to improve nature. Understand and protect it\n-Go to a library instead of a prizefight to foreign countries instead of Coney Island\n-Listen to your inner voice. Do not entrust it in anyone else\n\nOn freedoms, people tend to misuse and distort them instead of making it part of their routine life. *\"I saw you as a German refugee misuse Swedish hospitality. At that time, you were a would-be Fuhrer of all the suppressed people on earth. You remember the Swedish institution of smorgasbord. Many foods and delicacies are spread out, and it is left to the guest what and how much he will take. To you this institution was new and alien; you could not understand how one can trust human decency. You told me with malicious joy how you did not eat all day in order to gorge yourself on the free food in the evening.\"* And this is quite true. There are many people who chose not to work or develop skills and prefer to live on welfare because they are lazy. If a 30 year old woman has several children from several different men and lived on government welfare for more than a decade because she didn't want to work and build up her personal skills, it is immoral usury to then demand what that country does with its money.\n\nA contrast of freedoms people have destroyed is nicely summarized by *\"for you steal where you are being given, and you give where you are being robbed. You confuse the right to free speech and to criticism with irresponsible talk and poor jokes. You want to criticize but you don’t want to be criticized, and for this reason you get torn apart. You always want to attack without exposing yourself to attack\"*. For example, *\"Before the first 'World War', there were no passports in international travel; you could travel wherever you wished. The war for 'freedom and peace' brought passport controls, and they stuck to you like live\"*. This is especially true today after the \"War on Terror\" began adding unnecessary safeguards to airport security and background checks.  It goes directly against the original idea that people have the freedom of mobility, in the name of security and protection.\n\nIn the pursuit of truths, most people would see the potential discoveries and development of ideas that go against a given narrative as being dangerous to their existence. Instead of helping and doctoring the development, they selfishly steal and take the benefits but discard the person who discovered it.  *\"She was my neighbor and knew that I kept experimental mice in my basement. She was afraid the mice might crawl under her skirt and between her legs. She would not have this fear if she had ever enjoyed love. It was in these mice that I learned to understand your cancerous putrefaction, Little Man. You happened to be my landlord, and the poor little woman asked you to evict me. And you, with all your courage, your wealth of ideas and ethics, evicted me. I had to buy a house in order to continue to examine the mice for you, undisturbed by you and your cowardice. After this, what did you do, Little Man? As an ambitious little District Attorney you wanted to use the famous dangerous man to further your career. You said I was a German, or, again a Russian spy. You had me jailed. But it was worth it, seeing you sitting then at my hearing, blushing all over. I felt sorry for you little servant of the state, so miserable were you.\"* Above that, it is certainly true that many people will discourage people from reading books and ideas from different men without accusing them of being against their supposed ideal.\n\nWomen play a role responsibility. The accusations of rape and desire to not have any responsibility has become a rampant,  evil display of desiring fantasies not out of love but temporary lust. Many steep to feminism to provide them  a solution and resolve them of any personal responsibility and these groups lobby the government to remove the rights of men over falsehoods and delusions of being a poor, helpless female.  \"*If you had been able to give love to a man a single time, the life of many a Negro Jew or worker would have been saved. Just as you kill your life in your children so you kill in the Negroes your inkling of love, your frivolous pornographic fantasy of lust. I know you, you girls and women of the rich. What abysmal vileness you breed in your rigid genitals! No, you daughter of this or that revolution, I have no intention of becoming an LLD. or a Commissar.. That I leave to your stiff creatures in robes and uniforms.\"*\n\n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmRBfEUdQp7Ao6NjXpiktZPzT5qhvf8DmC5scnwC97CWYr/image.png)\n\nWilhelm gives a simple summary of the essay. **\"All you have to do is continue what you have always done and always want to do: to do your work, to let your children grow up happy, to love your wife, IF YOU DID THIS CLEARLY AND UNFLINCHINGLY THERE WOULD BE NO WAR\"**. Usually with history, people have been given countless works by many philosophers on how to live a virtuous, happy life. But the issue was that there is a clear bias when a person reads only the good parts and leaves out the criticism of their self. As Wilhelm suggested, most people are afraid of criticism and instead of taking responsibility they devolve to the state for their power and needlessly run through life in a chaotic and destructive manner. He wrote this work in 1945, so much of his perception came from his experiences with the world wars. It is rational to see that most people simply will not follow the advice or words from great men and as expected for thousands of years people have consistently been *Little Men/Women*. Most people today are exactly as they have been despite all the effort that has gone into improving the state of man kind. \n\nIt serves as a good introduction into other works by Wilhelm. This essay created an important self-reflection that I had not considered before. I think there are several major improvements that once implemented can vastly change a person's life.",

More so there is an observable truth when most people drive great men away from their social life because of their supposed lack of normality that most people have, by differing opinions and lifestyles.\n\nContempt and jealousy of other people is another big factor that keeps people from developing ideas and becoming great. You cannot believe that somebody who sat at the table with you or lived in the same house with you could achieve anything great\".* It is another true statement, and something I often see even in Engineering when colleagues say \"I would never consider buying a hedge fund from you because you are young\" or \"we are too stupid to develop a process\". That’s why one laughs at you, why one avoids you when one has serious work to do, that’s why you stick in the moras\"*. The same is said today when the alt-right looks at Jews, how the conservatives blame the left, how the left blames conservatives, how people look to identity politics and \"institutional racism\" to make them feel superior. And because of this according to Wilhelm,  *\"you have to do that because you really feel miserable. And you feel miserable because you are precisely that which you murder\"*. It is a demonstrably sharp observation.\n\nFurthermore, people don't help each other to produce great ideas. They merely let the great worker put in years of their life into research and development then \"devour\" their happiness by taking the ideas and using it for their own personal gain.  *\" No, Little Man, you never come to your helper to help. Wilhelm describes most people as users, as people take the teachings of great men and distort it for their own use without understanding the full context. And free expression of ideas is often neutered by the thought of what other people are going to think about them so many hide and detest their ideas. This is further expanded upon through many cases of history, such as Nietzsche's elevation to the Umbermensch and Hitler's degradation into the Umbermensch and between the cruelty of Robespierre in the French Revolution and Danton. And again most people won't derive happiness because they have nothing to add. *\"You are clever but; psychically constipated, you are unable to create. Thus, you steal a bone and crawl into a hole to chew it up, as Freud told you once. You congregate around the voluntary giver, the cheerful spender, and suck him dry. You are the sucker and, perversely, you call him the sucker. Usually with history, people have been given countless works by many philosophers on how to live a virtuous, happy life. But the issue was that there is a clear bias when a person reads only the good parts and leaves out the criticism of their self. As Wilhelm suggested, most people are afraid of criticism and instead of taking responsibility they devolve to the state for their power and needlessly run through life in a chaotic and destructive manner. He wrote this work in 1945, so much of his perception came from his experiences with the world wars. It is rational to see that most people simply will not follow the advice or words from great men and as expected for thousands of years people have consistently been *Little Men/Women*. Most people today are exactly as they have been despite all the effort that has gone into improving the state of man kind. \n\nIt serves as a good introduction into other works by Wilhelm. This essay created an important self-reflection that I had not considered before. I think there are several major improvements that once implemented can vastly change a person's life.",

      "body": "Both Canada and the US have been actively engaged with legalizing Marijuana and there has been a substantial development in Cannabis related stocks as well as contentions with government taxation on its growth. Before people consider buying into Marijuana companies or agreeing with the insurmountable amount of garbage promoted on the Internet, there are a number of factors to consider. \n\nHealth considerations:\n(1)\nLong-term effects of marijuana and THC is well documented. Adolescence smoking leads to accelerated OFC myelin maturation, which impedes neural development thus degenerating the user's lifetime cognitive potential. \n\nActive and exclusive(people who only smoke marijuana) users after an MRI data process was used with voxel-based morphology techniques (VBM), which uses the University of Oxford's Resonance Imaging of the Brain Software Library 4.0 have determined a few key findings.  It was determined that there was a general correlation with marijuana users  having a lower OFC grey matter volume(lower IQ), but a higher neural connectivity. The higher neural connectivity required a much higher glucose intake in order to maintain which makes efficiency questionable. Imagine this as a car with a smaller engine running at a higher RPM that it wasn't built for. The subtlety of the study however was that when cannadidiol(CBD) was used alone in low quantities, it improved recognition compared to the control group.  However related to THC inhalation, \"research clearly shows a reduced recognition to both positive and negative emotional valence which suggests that both recognition accuracy and interpretation of ambiguous faces are important in the aetiology[cause] of the disorder[major depression]\", indicating a negative effect on depression. CBD alone can block these effects to a degree, and taken alone has the possibility to improve recognition.\n\nActive ingredients of Cannabis can be found in (3). And while there are cannabinoids(86 identified), they are less prominent and the yield seems more like an opportunity cost. There are other properties such as anti-inflammatory uses and anti-oxidation in low doses, however it's clouded by the documented effects on neurology and those in favor of recreational use. \n\nInvestment considerations:\nMuch of the major hype regarding the legalization of Marijuana in Canada has been very successful for investing late 2017 to January 2018, in some cases receiving a 5x return in the case of WEED and ACB(Toronto Exchange). The major problem I found was that the entirety of the equity movement is based more on hype than it is on results of finalizing legalization which are still under discussion and realistic return expectations. Institutional investments will likely hold off on purchasing shares until there is a solid foundations of sales, which will also likely fall short after the initial hype factor dies off.\n\nA much larger and in-depth analysis will be performed later on closer to the full legalization date of July 1, 2018 which will focus on the projected performance, a more detailed analysis on the effects and important medical considerations after an Oil & Gas report and Machine Learning development.       "body": "Yesterday I made a post about the recent documents released(1) from the Waltman document from page 102 to 111.  In the documents, there was a civil lawsuit case of John St Clair Akwei vs the NSA making spectacular claims. I couldn't find much information on the lawsuit itself, which I'm beginning to believe the suggested source obtained from the document is questionable (2).  I thought the information was new until I did more investigation. If the NSA had a unique technology that would enable it to monitor people in 1992 as was claimed, the technology would have been patented(3) and available for public use today because of the expiry of said patents. \n\nConspiracy out of the way, what I found quite fascinating is that being able to monitor and manipulate brain wave functions had already been patented. US3951134A(4), signed by Dorne and Margolin Inc had actually developed technology that was capable of what the document claimed in 1974, relying on concepts produced in 1916-1919(US1425743A). Using radio frequency(RF) and electromagnetic(EM) waves seem to be a more recent phenomenon in US20160378687A1(9). China also recently filed an application for their own technology called \"Method and system for eliminating fighting strength of opposing combatant using electromagnetic wave\" in mid 2017(11) indicating that weapon uses of electromagnetic waves is a recent phenomenon.\n\nIt will be very interesting to look into this technology and acoustics further to keep people more updated and easily informed. I'm always open to learning more on the concept of EM/RF technology and the physics behind it.       "body": "Files have recently been released regarding left/right wing radicalism in the US after public request(1). These files discuss a variety of topics, which includes a wide range spectrum of right leaning groups that have been notably tracked.\n\nInside the files so far, I've come across some released information from the Waltman document on page 109 that the NSA has been using EMF brain stimulation techniques in order to \"map out electrical activity from the visual cortex of a subject's brain and show images from the brain on a video monitor\", as well as \"send images direct to the visual cortex, bypassing the eyes and optic nerve\".\n\nFigure 1: Sample of technology used for mapping\n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmZdsKTSh1U6G8qbNxvLBGhFbDDHqVJwxd4ZpnRQ1WycDz/image.png)\n\nThe way they claim it works is by sending and pulsing an electromagnetic signal to evoke potentials in the brain, which can form images and change a person's brain states. This can be done if an electromagnetic frequency is used to control the brain without any invasive drugs/chemicals such in the case of neurotropics. It does seem complex by their description and would require an understanding in acoustic physics -something that I don't understand yet- but such advances would save a lot of money on pharmaceuticals if there is adequate proof that the effects can be sustained. It might be HUGE if this information is released to the public and should be a future point of research. It will be a great Biomedical-Engineering challenge and something I look forward to potentially working on.\n\nOf existing research, there has been a discussion on devices that claim to use \"pulsed electromagnetic fields\" which produced laughable claims (4), and there exists operations such as ECT treatments that still require the use of drugs as a precursor(6).
