খারাপ,কারণ তার গোলবারে একটানা দাঁড়িয়ে থাকতে ভালো লাগে না।এরই মাঝে সর্বকনিষ্ঠ খেলোয়াড় বলে উঠলো,'আমি রবার্তো কার্লোস হবো!'\nএই ছোট ছেলেটা মাঝে মাঝে তার ভাই এবং ভাইয়ের বন্ধুদের সাথে খেলতো।কিন্তু করাটা রোমাঞ্চকর ছিলো!সুদূর রে ডি জেনিরিও থেকে মাদ্রিদে,যেই মানুষটার খেলাকে অন্তরে লালন করতেন তাঁর সাথে খেলতে পারার সুযোগ করে নিয়েছিলেন!যখনিই তিনি সমবয়সীদের সাথে রাস্তায় বা বিচে খেলতেন,তিনি ব্রাজিলের ৫'৬\" উচ্চতার 6 নাম্বার জার্সিধারী খেলোয়াড়টির রোল প্লে করতে চাইতেন!এই পজিশনে নিজেকে কম্ফোর্টেবল করার জন্য ব্রাজিল বা রিয়াল মাদ্রিদের হয়ে রবার্তোর যতগুলো ম্যাচ দেখা সম্ভব সবগুলোই দেখেছিলেন মার্সেলো।\n\nমার্সেলোর জয়েন করার পর ক্লাবের ইচ্ছা ছিলো মার্সেলোকে \n'কাস্তিয়া'য় খেলানোর।যাতে নতুন ক্লাব এবং পরিবেশে সেকেন্ড টায়ারের টিমগুলোর সাথে খেলে মাদ্রিদের প্লেয়িং স্টাইল রপ্ত করতে পারেন।কিন্তু ফার্স্ট টিম কোচ ফ্যাবিও ক্যাপেলো তাঁকে ফার্স্ট টিমের সাথেই ট্রেনিং করাতে থাকেন।এতে করে তিনি রবার্তোর সান্নিধ্যে আসার সুযোগ পান,যাঁকে রিপ্লেস করার গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দায়িত্ব নিয়ে এবং খেলোয়াড়সুলভ মনোভাবের অধিকারী ছিলো।আমার মনে আছে,সে নম্র ছিলো এবং সে কথা বলার তুলনায় শুনতো বেশি।\"\n\nঠিক এসময় ট্রেনিংয়ে ডেভিড বেকহ্যামের একটি গ্রাউন্ড ট্যাকেলে রবার্তো কার্লোস ইনজুরিতে পড়লে মার্সেলোর জন্য দ্রুত একটা সুযোগ তৈরি হয়ে যায়।কিন্তু এত তাড়াতাড়ি কোচ তাঁকে স্টার্ট করাতে রাজী ছিলেন না।ফলে সার্জিও রামোস লেফট ব্যাকে স্টার্ট করেন এবং শেষের 30 মিনিট মার্সেলোর ডেব্যু মিনিটস হয়ে করেন।সে ম্যাচেই 88th মিনিটে গঞ্জালো হিগুয়েইনের সাব হিসেবে মাঠে নামেন মার্সেলো।এক ইতিহাসের স্বাক্ষী হয়ে যায় সেদিনের বার্নাব্যুর দর্শকেরা!সেই ম্যাচের কয়েকটা মিনিটই মার্সেলো এবং রবার্তো কার্লোস কোন অফিশিয়াল ম্যাচে একসাথে মাঠে ছিলেন।সে সিজনে মাদ্রিদ লীগ জেতে,যার নাম দেয়া হয় 'League of comebacks' বা 'প্রত্যাবর্তনের লীগ'।কিন্তু রবার্তোর সাথে মার্সেলো বেশিদিন খেলতে পারেননি।সে সিজনেই রিয়াল মায়োর্কার সাথে খেলা ম্যাচটিই রবার্তোর রিয়ালে শেষ ম্যাচ ছিলো।রবার্তোর সাথে ব্রাজিলেও খেলা হয় নি মার্সেলোর।২০০৬ সালের সেপ্টেম্বরে মার্সেলোর অভিষেক হয়,তার ঠিক এক মাস আগেই রবার্তো অবসর ঘোষণা না,বরং তিনি বিশ্বের অন্যতম সেরা ফুটবলারকে রিপ্লেস করছিলেন,অথচ তার বয়স তখনও ২০ পেরোয়নি!এটা নিয়ে 'এল পায়েস' এর এক ইন্টারভিউতে তিনি মজা করে বলেন,তাঁর দাঁড়ির জন্য তাঁকে বয়স্ক দেখাচ্ছে,যদিও তিনি অতটা নন!\n\nতরুন মার্সেলোর মুখ থেকে এত সব ঝড়-ঝাপটার পরেও হাসি কমেনি।ফ্যানরা হয়তো তাঁকে নিয়ে সন্দিহান ছিলেন,তিনি আদৌ রবার্তোর রিপ্লেসমেন্ট হতে পারবেন কিনা,কিন্তু বিভিন্ন ডিনারে রবার্তো নিজেই এই শিক্ষানবীশকে উপদেশ দেন এবং বলেন মার্সেলো সঠিক পথেই আছেন।এ ব্যাপারে কোন সিক্রেট নেই,মার্সেলো কঠোর পরিশ্রম দিয়েই দলে জায়গা করে নিয়েছিলেন।২০০৭/০৮ সিজনে কোচ এবং ফ্যানদের জয় করে নেন এবং লেফট ব্যাকে স্টার্টার হন।তবে মার্সেলো লেফটব্যাকে একটু অন্যরকম ছিলেন,তিনি ফরোয়ার্ডে চলে যেতেন খুব বেশি এবং সময়মতো ডিফেন্সে ব্যাক করতে পারতেন না।তাঁকে পজিশনে ফেরার জন্য বিভিন্নভাবে হেইঞ্জ এবং ক্যানাভেরো সাহায্য করতেন।মার্সেলো খুব দ্রুত উন্নতি করছিলেন।কিন্তু ২০০৮/০৯ সিজনে কোচ হুয়ান্দে রামোস মার্সেলোকে লেফটব্যাকে খেলাতে তেমন আগ্রহী ছিলেন না।তিনি দ্রুত ফলাফল চাইতেন এবং মার্সেলোকে লেফট উইংয়ে শিফট করেন।তবে মার্সেলো উইংয়েও ভালো করতে থাকেন।স্প্যানিশ পত্রিকা EEE তে বলেন,\"এটা শুরুতে আমাকে অবাক করেছিলো।কিন্তু আমি এতে স্বচ্ছন্দবোধ করি কারন আমি বল নিয়ে ফরোয়ার্ডে যেতে পছন্দ করি।আমার ন্যাচারাল পজিশন লেফটব্যাক হলেও আমি উইংয়েও উপভোগ করি।\"\n\nম্যানুয়েল পেলেগ্রিনি রিয়ালে আসার পর প্লেয়ারদের ডিফেন্সিভ ডিউটি বেড়ে যায়।ফলে মার্সেলোও কদাচিৎ হাই পিচে খেলতেন।কিন্তু ডিফেন্সিভ ডিউটি তাঁর পারফরম্যান্সে প্রভাব ফেলতে পারে নি।২০০৯/১০ সিজনে শুধুমাত্র ক্রিশ্চিয়ানো ও কাকার অ্যাসিস্ট তাঁর চেয়ে বেশি ছিলো!এরপরে মৌরিনহো মাদ্রিদের কোচ হয়ে আসেন।মৌরিনহো এসেই মার্সেলোর প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বী হিসেবে স্বদেশী লেফটব্যাক ফ্যাবিও কোয়েন্ত্রাও কে আনেন।\n\nলা দেসিমার সব ক্লিপগুলোয় সার্জিও রামোস কিংবা বেলের হেডার এবং রোনালদোর লেট পেনাল্টি যেভাবে ইনজয় করা হয়,তার তুলনায় মার্সেলোর গোলটি একটু কমই করা হয়ে থাকে!বায়ার্ন মিউনিখের সাথে সেমিফাইনালের দুটি লেগই মার্সেলো ইনজুরির জন্য মিস করেছিলেন।তাই ম্যাচডে'র সন্ধ্যায় ধারণা করা হচ্ছিলো,হয়তো মার্সেলো ফাইনাল মিস করতে পারেন এবং হয়তোবা কোয়েন্ত্রাও স্টার্ট করতে পারেন।২০১১ সালে কোয়েন্ত্রায়ও মাদ্রিদে আসেন,যেটা ছিলো মার্সেলোর পজিশন ধরে রাখার জন্য একটা থ্রেট।কিন্তু রেমন ক্যালেদ্রোনের ধারণাই সত্যি হয়।কোয়েন্ত্রাও,রাউল ব্রাভো,মিগুয়েল টোরেস,দ্রেন্তে এবং হেইঞ্জের মতো খেলোয়াড়দের পেছনে ফেলে রবার্তোর রিপ্লেসমেন্ট হওয়ার পথে এগিয়ে যান মার্সেলো।মৌরিনহো বলেছিলেন,\"শুরুতে আমি তাকে (মার্সেলো) নিয়ে দ্বিধায় ছিলাম,কিন্তু এখন আমি ওকে যথেষ্ট পছন্দ করি।\"রিয়ালে কোচ থাকাকালীন মার্সেলো ছিলেন মৌরিনহোর সর্বোচ্চ ৯ম ব্যবহার করা খেলোয়াড়,যেখানে কোয়েন্ত্রাও এই ধারায় ছিলেন ১৫তম!\n\nলা ডেসিমা নাইটে কার্লো আনচেলত্তি হয়তো কোয়েন্ত্রাওকেই বেছে নিতেন।কিন্তু মার্সেলোর মেডিকেল রিপোর্ট দেখার পর তাঁর অধীনে সর্বোচ্চ মিনিট খেলা প্লেয়ারদের মধ্যে ৬ষ্ঠ প্লেয়ারটিকে আর বসিয়ে রাখতে পারেননি।বাদবাকি ডেসিমার নাইটের কথা আমরা সবাই জানি!২০১৫ সালে আনচেলত্তির বিদায়ের পরে মার্সেলো মাদ্রিদের ভাইস-ক্যাপ্টেন হন।তাঁর হাসিখুশি স্বভাব এবং সাবলীলতা দিয়ে মার্সেলো ড্রেসিংরুমে ফেবারিট হয়ে ওঠেন।যদিও ড্রেসিংরুমের চেয়ে অন দ্যা পিচে তাঁর পারফরম্যান্সই বেশি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ছিলো।তাঁর লেফটে একাধারে অফেন্সিভ এবং ডিফেন্সিভ কন্ট্রিবিউশান এবং রোনালদোর সাথে কেমিস্ট্রি পুরো বিশ্বে পরিচিত হয়ে ওঠে।মার্সেলোর লেফট সাইডে ডমিন্যান্সের কারনে রোনালদোর ডিফেন্সিভ ডিউটি ছিলোনা,ফলে তিনি সহজেই সেন্ট্রালি শিফট হতে পারতেন।মার্সেলো হয়তো রবার্তোর মতো নিজে ব্যালন রেসে ছিলেন না,তবে রনকে ইনডিভিজুয়াল পুরষ্কার জেতাতে বেশ ভূমিকা রেখেছিলেন।\n\nটেকনিক্যালি বলতে গেলে,২০১৫/১৬ চ্যাম্পিয়ন্স লীগ জেতাতে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সদস্য ছিলেন।জিদান এসেই তাঁর টিমকে স্ট্যাবিলাইজ করতে একজন এটাকিং মিডফিল্ডারকে (হামেস অথবা ইস্কো) স্যাক্রিফাইস করেন এবং ক্যাসেমিরোকে এলিভেনে সেট করেন।কিন্তু এতে দলের এটাকিং কন্ট্রিবউশন কমে যাচ্ছিলো এবং এর সমাধান হিসেবে জিদান মার্সেলোকে ব্যবহার করতে শুরু করেন।এবং এর ফলাফল আমরা সকলেই জানি।মার্সেলো শুধুই রবার্তো কার্লোসের যোগ্য রিপ্লেসমেন্টই ছিলেন না,তিনি কিছু কিছু দিক থেকে রবার্তোকে ছাড়িয়েও গিয়েছিলেন।\n\nমার্সেলোর এই পর্যায়ে আসার জন্য সবচেয়ে বেশি অবদান তাঁর দাদা পেদ্রো ভিয়েরা ডি সিলভার।মার্সেলোর মা শিক্ষিকা ছিলেন,তিনি মার্সেলোকে পড়াশোনার জন্য বলতেন।কিন্তু সাবেক ফুটবলার পেদ্রো নাতিকে বলতেন,\"তোমার অবশ্যই পড়াশোনার দরকার আছে তবে ফুটবল খেলাও অনেক বেশি দরকার।\"\nদাদার অনুপ্রেরণায় মার্সেলো ফুটসাল খেলতে শুরু করেছিলেন।একবার একটি ম্যাচে তাঁকে ফুটসাল গ্রাউন্ডে আগুন ঝরাতে দেখেন ফ্লুমেনিস ক্লাবের প্রতিনিধি।ফ্লুমেনিস তাঁকে আমন্ত্রণ জানায়।কিন্তু মার্সেলোর ইচ্ছা ছিলো বাবার মতো অগ্নিনির্বাপক কর্মী হবেন।পরে তাঁর দাদা তাঁকে আগ্রহী করে তোলেন।\nপেদ্রো ভিয়েরার স্বপ্ন ছিলো মার্সেলোকে একজন প্রফেশনাল ফুটবলার হিসেবে দেখার,একজন ইউরোপীয়ান কাপ বিজয়ী হিসেবে দেখার এবং ব্রাজিলের জাতীয় দলের হয়ে খেলতে দেখার।পেদ্রো হয়তো লাখো ব্রাজিলিয়ানদের মধ্যে সবচেয়ে বেশি গর্ববোধ করেছিলেন ১২ জুন,২০১৪ ব্রাজিলের হোম বিশ্বকাপের উদ্বোধনী ম্যাচের লাইনআপে দেখে।তাঁর স্বপ্ন,প্রচেস্টা সফল হয়েছিলো।পেদ্রো কিংবা মার্সেলো ভিয়েরার একজনও হয়তো স্বপ্নেও কল্পনা করতে পারেননি,একসময় মার্সেলো ভিয়েরা 'ইতিহাসের সেরা লেফটব্যাক' বিতর্কের একজন হয়ে উঠবেন।কিন্তু তাঁর মেধা,নৈতিকতা,আশাবাদ এবং কঠোর পরিশ্রম তাঁকে এই অবস্থানে নিয়ে এসেছে।শুধু কি তাই?মার্সেলোর ছোটবেলার আদর্শ রবার্তোর সাথে তাঁর সুসম্পর্ক তৈরি হয়েছে,তাঁরা সুযোগ পেলেই একে অপরের প্রসংশা করেন।আজ রবার্তো বলেন,\"He is the best fullback in the world has more ability and quality than me.\",তো কাল মার্সেলো উত্তর দেন,\"It'd be impossible to surpass Roberto Carlos,as he's the best.\"\n\nরবার্তো আর মার্সেলোর মধ্যে কম্পেরিজন মূলত সময় নষ্ট ছাড়া আর কিছুই না।বরং সে সময়টিকে তাঁদের বৈশিষ্ট্য এবং গল্পে আলোচনা করে কাটানো উচিত।মার্সেলো বলেছিলেন,\"আমি মার্সেলো
