Especially in cases like this, when you're going to go around system and remove some files - you'd better know that you have back up somewhere in case you occasionally remove something important. Of course, you can always restore the data right away after removing it, but better not to go into this if you can be more careful in the beginning and have back-up as well!\n\n## Let's begin\nWith the back up in place and peace of mind, let's begin our clean-up adventure.       "body": "Greetings!\n\nHave you ever approached situation when your disk partitions are full and you have delete something? Don't worry; today I'm going to tell you all you need to know about cleaning your Fedora / CentOS / RedHat / similar installations.\n\n![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmUsdf1Z42MKuPKRCxBcEByozXhkbEw3MCbmNxmx8YQPC8/image.png)\n\n## Important info\nFirst and foremost, please do back up your system. Especially in cases like this, when you're going to go around system and remove some files - you'd better know that you have back up somewhere in case you occasionally remove something important. Of course, you can always restore the data right away after removing it, but better not to go into this if you can be more careful in the beginning and have back-up as well!\n\n## Let's begin\nWith the back up in place and peace of mind, let's begin our clean-up adventure. What are our steps that we can perform to clean space in Fedora installation?\n\n* You can clean DNF packages that you don't need with: <BR> `sudo dnf clean packages`\n* Clear additional space by removing older parts of system journal: <BR> `sudo journalctl --vacuum-size=100M`\n* It should be safe to remove all files from /var/tmp/* as well as /tmp/*: <BR> `rm -rf /var/tmp/* /tmp/*`\n* If you have Docker installed, remove unused containers: <BR> `docker system prune -a`\n* Check out 20 largest packages (and if you don't need some of them, remove them via dnf or GUI Package Manager of your choice): <BR> `rpm -qa --queryformat '%{name} %{size}\\n' | sort -n -k 2 -r | head -n 20`\n* If you see that your system has some languages installed that you don't need, please check out my github gist for more help: <BR> https://gist.github.com/sxiii/674ccd0cbefe25b240e9ef4955442c73\n\nAnother things to check is if you have Steam installed, you might want to remove one or several games to make a lot of space at once. Another things to consider is checking your ~/Downloads folder for Linux torrents, music, movies, or whatever you might have downloaded and don't need any more. \n\n## Software that might help you\n* Very important tool to clean up some space is Baobab: <BR> `sudo dnf install baobab && sudo baobab`\n* Install additional GUI tool called bleachbit to clean up more space.       "body": "Greetings Steemit!\n\nI planned to write this article quite a long time ago. I can really feel the need of it now, so I am doing it!\n\nhttps://articles-images.sftcdn.net/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2018/11/blockchain-700.jpg\n\n## Overview of freelancing status\nI will pull up some bullet points with my thoughts on freelancing websites and the market in general:\n* There are several high-volume and high-competition websites like Upwork.com (Odesk) and Fiverr.com\n* There are follow-up'ers like freelance.com and local countries' websites (workzilla and youdo for Russia, etc.)\n* All of the top tier and middle tier freelancing websites are a hassle in general, because:\n1. They charge incredibly high commissions (for instance, if you count all the fees in total, starting with money from somebody who need work ending into somebody who does the work and get the money, Upwork results in total commissions up to INCREDIBLE 60%! This is not a joke - they are just treating us, the people, as we would work for them basically!  If you don't believe me, check by yourself. They take some commissions on different moments UP TO 8 TIMES, totaling from minimum of average 35% to max of 60%.\n2. They are uncomfortable and lack a lot of features\n3. They are centralized and their opinion is controlled by some board of directors, so they can, for example, block some countries or accounts without any explanations from competing on the job market. Also, as they are centralized, they can went bankrupt, etc. etc. - anything can happen.\n4. You have to trust them with your money. On the both sides.\n5. They usually discourage or totally forbid using external communications methods. If you like some sort of program and want to discuss your job in this program (let's say, Jitsi Meet or whatever), their system will find \"forbidden contact details\" in your messages and will show a notice or even block your messages or, even worse, block your account.\n6. They disallow discussion of competing platforms and solutions (e.g. it's denied to say \"Fiverr\" on Upwork and vise-versa. So, no free speech and no opinions/discussions.\n7. Their support is slow and as they have a large user base it works really bad for everybody.\n8. They require you to verify your profile, and they disallow anonymous work.\n9. There are other points as well, if you think about it more (let me know down in comments!).\n\n## Are we really wasted?\nOkay, so, we now see that currently popular  freelancing websites are total crap. Are there any decentralized, modern solutions with low fees, better support, no required stupid verification process etc? Yes, they are, multiple:\n* https://www.cryptogrind.com\n* https://ethlance.com\n* There are several \"ad services\" for crypto jobs as well, but that's not what I am searching for (like: cryptorecruit.com, cryptojobslist.com etc.)\n* Maybe I missed one or two - let me know down in comments if you know good website\n\n## So what's the problems with that? Why just don't we use the blockchain based solutions?\n\nWell, first, they don't have enough marketing, and because of that, they don't have enough users. So it's nearly impossible to find a job there, unless you're searching for a crypto job.\n\n## Can we do something about it?\nI think, there are 3 main ways:\n1. Try to gather the community around the platforms that exist and PROMOTE, PROMOTE, PROMOTE them to everybody!\n2. Build new services if you have power, and then switch to step #1 (PROMOTE, PROMOTE, PROMOTE!)\n3. Do both things in parallel.\n\nI was actually thinking about all this since ~2015 and tried to pull several projects together, but I didn't quite made the day. Still. Here's the post about the project from it's leader:\n\nhttps://commun.com/askcommun/@marina/the-bell-tolls-1602250203\n\nSo I will tell my opinion on what's happening in a separate post - right here.\n\nThis is pretty sad that another project is closed and this seems like a pattern that Golos team has been following for a while (abandoned projects: \"golos classic (steemit based)\", \"golos eos\" (eos based), and now - Commun.\n\nI am not saying that it is wrong strategy to test markets and to decide that there is no real market for the product. This is a position that is pretty often announced as \"corporatocratic\" and hence it's widely used.\n\nStartups are created, developed, invested in, tested out, and then sometimes they die. This is a project's life process.\n\nHowever, I personally feel that you're doing two things wrong.\n\n1) First thing, is you say, that Commun hadn't find it's place in the world and market. I disagree with that and a lot of Commun users will also state the same.\n\n2) Second thing, is you're doing Opensource projects wrong.\n\nOpensource projects are created in another way. They created as open projects FROM THE VERY beginning, starting with doing code and in the same time with doing a documentation and trying to ask everybody to run a masternode, a delegate node, a GUI node, etc. etc. So, - you don't have the 10,000$, 50,000$, or whatever any other amount of spending.\n\nSuccessful opensource project are working in a way to develop ECOSYSTEM that attracts people of all sorts in all of the \"steps\" of the ladder, and this ecosystem is created so, even if leaders and former developers quit their jobs, the community continues to live (there is one good example that was picked up by community because the source was open and because of obvious support from steemit community, is the \"old golos (golos classic)\". This project shows that if done most of the things correctly from the beginning to the end, community will pick up the project and it will continue to live on forever.\n\nSo, summing up. It is possible to develop the project in such a way, that you don't need any money to support it. Even better, it's possible to create opensource project (which even does not include crypto or any money at all) that earns you money (look at: RHEL; Samsung, Linux kernel; Nginx; Apache; DC/OS; etc. etc. dozen of examples).\n\nSo I would say that it's not too late to switch the stuff on the correct side and let the community take over the project and develop it on their own sake.\n\nAnyways, thanks for being here and trying to develop something at least in any ways.\n\n@sxiii",
