      "body": "Hi there, back after taking yesterday off as well sadly, still getting back into the swing of things after Tuesday's events. I decided to drop this list now before the set came out, to get an idea floating out there early! Tomorrow I'll post twice to catch up a bit, and I think you'll like what I've got in store. I don't want to drag on, so; Without further ado, a bad MSPaint edit for the thumbnail:\n\n# Yourassic Park (A Standard Dino Zoo)\nhttps://i.imgur.com/iWurKqv.png\n\n# Overview\n\nYourassic Park is an aggro deck meant to gain an early advantage by sticking aggressively costed threats, and protecting those threats through well-timed pump spells. Almost every creature costs two mana, so three or four lands is the sweet spot to find. Turn 3 is the most important of the game for this deck, being able to untap with a 2-cmc beater begin the offensive. Late game is a little dicey being a low end aggressive deck, but if you time your pump/protection spells correctly there's always a way out of a jam. This is my first go at the list and I'll be updating it through later installments!\n\nI made the deck on MTGSalvation's deckbuilder, which I highly recommend anyone to use! It's very simple and fast!\nhttp://www.mtgsalvation.com/decks/962-yourassic-park\n\n# The Decklist\n![dinos.png](https://steemitimages.com/DQmY82Pi96DkuUhSo8NXGaiLLZAxPGcjDhZmmumAQwXkayt/dinos.png)\n\n# Notable Card Choices\n**PATH TO METTLE:** Really strong at clearing most tokens, and doesn't drop any of your creatures except **Cherished Hatchling** (more on that in a second) so you really don't need to be afraid to let this one rip. The flipside gives you some inevitability, and can also allow you to drop more of your hand out if you've been having some mana problems.\n**CHERISHED HATCHLING:** While this little guy IS a nonbo with **Path to Mettle**,  it also doubles as one of the scariest cards for your opponent to clear with removal precombat if you get to untap with him.  The fight mechanic is a way to regain board superiority against big and wide strategies alike.\n**THRASHING BRONTODON:** While the double green and 3-cmc is a little hard to stomach, this guy is gonna do wonders against decks that can land a **_______ Gearhulk** onto the battlefield, so this is a necessary mainboard inclusion. the 3/4 body is still pretty relevant, and can act as a decent beater against the decks where Gearhulks won't be the issue for you.\n**APPEAL // AUTHORITY:** The top side is a cheap&impressive combat trick, with the backside being a slightly more expensive, slightly more impressive combat trick! Playing from the graveyard has impressive upside to it, and the backside also helps activate your **Path To Mettle**s\n**BLOOD SUN:** In the board, this one sides into the deck pretty nicely against certain greedy manabases. I can see swapping the Paths for **Blood Sun** if Path doesn't effect your opponent so much! Also doesn't hurt your **Unclaimed Territory** if it was placed down before  your Sun rises.\n\n#Early/Mid/Late Game\n\n###### Early Game\n The most important phase of the game, you definitely want your opener to have at LEAST two threats and a protection/pump spell.  Always play the creatures first if you're debating between one and a **Path To Mettle** \n. **Siegehorn Ceratops** and **Relentless Raptor**  are both incredibly powerful starts, both powering through Path (with Siegehorn being especially powerful). If your opponents come after one of your threats, you should always use your spells to protect them. Make them work to clear your early pressure! Turn 3 is paramount, going 2-drop with protection spell mana open is your optimal route here.\n\n###### Mid Game\nThis is where you need to finish the game in most circumstances. Keep applying board presence, using combat tricks to your advantage while keeping your guys on the field. **Appeal // Authority** is especially strong here, and **Savage Stomp** can clear a board for your alpha strike finish. **Gearhulks** and creatures with high toughness are your main problem here, but **Blossoming Defense** can allow you to finish off large creatures. I would say to reserve **Lightning Strike** and **Shock** for your opponent's head, but clearing out a midrange beast might be well worth the spell's use. Hope you end it by turns 6 or 7!\n\n###### Late Game\nYou Lose!!! Don't let yourself get to the late game. Seriously, just don't. If your opponent is able to cast two large spells in one turn, it's hard to catch up. **Path to Mettle** again can end a game through it's shocking, but that alone is a pretty tall order to fulfill. Keep hope alive! Peeling multiple threats and protection off the top might be enough to power you home.\n\nAlright, that's pretty much all I have to say for now! The card features an apparent clash of interests, as the backside of the card feels best in a control shell, whereas the front side wants to be using some sort of aggro strategy. The backside makes me want to make a Deck that could utilize this bad boy with Ajani Vengeant and some relevant midrange threats with *vigilance* or *first Strike*.\n\n##### Journey to Eternity\nhttp://www.mythicspoiler.com/rix/cards/journeytoeternity.jpg http://www.mythicspoiler.com/rix/cards/atzalcaveofeternity.jpg\n- Probably (?) the best of the bunch. Aggressively costed, recursion for a threat, mana ramp, AND reanimation on a land??? Well then. Any etb effect is great with this, and anything with a relevant death trigger as well. So essentially... most creatures you would be playing anyways in these colors? I see Jund or BG Rock coming in strong with a few of these in their lists very soon. Interactions with a card like **Fulminator Mage** are just the start of its' utility.\n\n##### Storm the Vault\n- Similar to Path of Mettle in the sense, this one feels like it's being pulled in a few too many directions. The flip side has trememdous upside, and gives you another way to add threats to a board that might get stalled at some point.\n\n##### Protean Raider\nhttp://www.mythicspoiler.com/rix/cards/proteanraider1.jpg\n- Attack triggers are always awesome, and you don't even have to tip the opponent off to this before it's already too late for them to react outside of a counter. Clone effects are always great, and 3 mana is pretty slick!\n\n##### Siegehorn Ceratops\n-Holy Moly! Any sort of Ping effect is great with this, and gives you inevitability. Pyrohemia, this, Ripjaw Raptor, and TrapJaw Tyrant make me want to brew a Naya Dinohemia deck!\n\n##### The COMMANDER Ones\n- Azor, the Lawbringer\n-Elendra, the Dusk Rose\n- Zacama, Primal Calamity (Might need to make a commander deck now...)\n\n##### Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca\nhttp://www.mythicspoiler.com/rix/cards/kumenatyrantoforazca1.jpg\n- If it weren't for his fish-centric abilities, he'd be in the Commander Ones... But since it IS Merfolk, this gives him some playability there (along with the usual undercosting of him).  Each of his three abilities are relevant in most cases, so even if you only have the first ability active he can do a bit of damage. Toolbox Merfolk? What could go wrong! We'll sure find out soon :')\n\n##### Angrath, the Flame-Chained\nhttp://www.mythicspoiler.com/rix/cards/angraththeflamechained1.jpg\n- 5 Mana really, really scares me off of him for his ability set, but he might be great if built around. His + is a slow but steady way to grinding out a win, and his - gives you reach and aggression. the only problem is that neither of them give him any protection! To even get to thinking about his ultimate, you NEED to protect him.\n\n##### Hautli, Radiant Champion\nhttp://www.mythicspoiler.com/rix/cards/huatliradiantchampion.jpg\n- Maybe the most Narrow walker there is, having to be in a heavy creature strategy to have any sort of explosive start. Board wipes and removal spells directly affect her in every aspect, which is something I usually don't want to see on a walker.\n\n## Colorless\n(no picture, booo!)\n\n##### The Limited/Commander Ones\n- The Immortal Sun (still cool tho)\n- Captain's Hook\n\n##### Silent Gravestone\nhttp://www.mythicspoiler.com/rix/cards/silentgravestone1.jpg\n- A 1 mana yard hoser that... The exclusion of any evasion, hurts, but if one of your lands happens to be called **Kessig Wolf Run**, I don't think you'd mind very much about that!\n\n##### Azor's Gateway\nhttp://www.mythicspoiler.com/rix/cards/azorsgateway.jpg http://www.mythicspoiler.com/rix/cards/sanctumofthesun.jpg\n- Really, an impressive (but odd) card. Certain decks will automatically rule out its' inclusion due to the cmc requirements for flipping. Cyling cards is never a bad thing to be doing, and the potential payoff of a huge mana generator will be tempting for many decks to try and break.\n\n##### Arch of Orazca\n-  I think the mana investment will be too annoying for any deck to try and put up with outside of Lands. Aggressively costed, recursion for a threat, mana ramp, AND reanimation on a land??? Well then. Any etb effect is great with this, and anything with a relevant death trigger as well. So essentially... most creatures you would be playing anyways in these colors? I see Jund or BG Rock coming in strong with a few of these in their lists very soon. Interactions with a card like **Fulminator Mage** are just the start of its' utility.\n\n##### Storm the Vault\n- Similar to Path of Mettle in the sense, this one feels like it's being pulled in a few too many directions. I'll reserve judgement on this one due to possible combo applications, but it's close to being one of the \"limited ones\"\n\n##### Profane Procession\nhttp://www.mythicspoiler.com/rix/cards/profaneprocession1.jpg http://www.mythicspoiler.com/rix/cards/tomboftheduskrose1.jpg\n- Mardu superfriends... Acting aggressive in the early game is very important, as you want to limit them to as few options as possible. Setting up a devastating Smallpox requires some work and insight, thinking about what you would like to allow them to have in hand AND on field for when you * get down with the sickness * (yeah, sorry about that). Keeping the resources low will allow your strategy to flourish, as the creatures have alternative methods of battlefield entry. ALWAYS attack with anything outside of Avatar of Woe, since they can't block! Call to the Netherworld allows you to rebuy this one with its' *Madness* trigger, so you'd be able to get a second cycle in for good measure.\n**AVATAR OF WOE:**    When running 8 cycle creatures and 7 more that basically live in the yard, Avatar of Woe can come online in almost every matchup. The tap ability will always be relevant, and the 6/5 body makes it a hefty foe for any deck to deal with. Casting Avatar, and playing a land the following turn can allow you to destroy a threatening blocker and crack in with some Bloodghasts\n**Nether Traitor:**    Shadow creatures are always fun to play with, especially when they have *Haste*. Not only is the synergy with Bloodghast evident, Nether Traitor plays incredibly well with Ensnaring Bridge, allowing you to go in for chip damage even when you're fiddling around with a single card in your grip.\n**FOUR (!) Surgical Extraction:**    Surgical has a ton of uses, my favorite of which being the classic *no-permanents-on-board fetchland* extraction. Seriously, target those Misties and Catacombs. Immediately! Screwing with a manabase can ruin anyone's gameplan, as mana is universal. If you can't pop off that spicy play, make sure to pull a relevant midgame threat out of their hand (or counterspell) with a discard spell. And what the heck, might as well use the Surgical on anything you pick out as well! Smallpox plays well with Surgical as well, allowing you to get rid of other lands such as any Urza's, or Celestial Columnade if you're lucky.\n**CALL TO THE NETHERWORLD**    Is here for our nonrecurrable friends in this deck. It doesn't get much sweeter than pulling a felled Avatar of Woe from the graveyard for free (!) off of a Liliana discard trigger. The play of: Street Wraith cycle --> Liliana Discard, discarding Call ---> Cast, Targeting Street Wraith ---> cycle Wraith enemy EoT is a pretty incredible way to cycle your way into putting more and more pressure on your opponents' resources.\n\n# Early/Mid/Late Game #\n##### Posted on MTGSalvation #####\n\n###### Early Game ######\n\nOpening with a surgical extraction,  discard spell, two lands, and a smallpox is the most explosive start in this deck regardless  of the other two cards in hand. If you're on the draw, any fetch the opponent uses should be surgically removed ASAP. Like while they're searching for their shock, might as well get the other 3 Misty s out of there too buddy! Following with a Discard spell t1 is great, as it allows you to see what you're getting into the following turns. I leave them something to cast, to open themselves up more to the effects of the next turn's Smallpox. By this time, you have disrupted their mana base, their hand twice, and their land most importantly. All by turn 2! Dropping a few Cyclers or a Bloodghast into the yard on these turns will allow you to set up for the mid/late game as well.\n\n###### Mid Game ######\nBy this point, you have hopefully drawn into more discard, another smallpox, cyclers, etc... but what you're really looking for turns 3-6 are a Liliana of the Veil, or the Ensnaring Bridge. Since the deck uses cyclers and not draw spells that gain you cards, your hand will be kept relatively low along with your opponents'. Ensnaring bridge won't let anything above 2 power through regularly, and Liliana of the Veil can be used after you cast anything juicy you peel off the top. Now your discard should be targeting relevant mid and late game threats, which you can pitch a Surgical on as well. Anything you feel threatened by at this point; don't risk it, and get rid of it. Planeswalkers are especially difficult to stop, so if you can get one of those exiled it will go a long way towards the W.\n\n###### Late Game ######\nGrinding out a victory with Bloodghasts and Nether Traitors is great fun in the late game, as you have quite an arsenal to clear the board and find answers. Avatar of Woe will become relevant past turn 5, as your cyclers and recurring creatures count towards her cost reduction as well. If you can get 2 or 3 creatures into their graveyard, you could see this big baddie out by turn 6 or 7. With a large body and a tap effect that gets rid of bigger threats for the rest of the guys to bust in some chip damage.\n\nAnyways, that's about all I had for now! While I appreciated the wind animation during this scene, it dragged on to DBZ-esque lengths. Golden Frieza I believe, could make light work of him though. Toppo was in rare form this episode, shrugging off the attacks our two heroes threw his way. The late game beater/blocker aspect of this makes me think the two can have a place in the same deck, as she helps accelerate the Ascend trigger.\n\nTendershoot Dryad\n- EACH upkeep? With a Lord of Atlantis or Master of the Pearl Trident online, this could be a 5/4 on turn 3. Scary!!!\n\nDeeproot Elite\n- Honestly, the biggest thing holding this Elite back is his CMC. Jostling around at 2 drop with most of the lords in the deck and Silvergill Adept isn't a very advantageous spot to be in. Regisaur Alpha comes to mind right away, and the obvious inclusion in enrage strategies will make for an insanely powerful wincon. Certain strategies may see a use in reanimating or cheating this one into play early and take the game over there.\n\nLongwinded post!
