You are never fantastic in the beginning and make mistakes.\n\n**Investing and trading are no different.**\n\nI went back and looked at what I was doing when I first started. Somethings made me happy, while others made me shake my head.\n\n**Many people do not want to share their mistakes out of fear.** Fear of being made fun of or being called stupid. The first coin I found on my own is ETP, so I became attached. **Do not get attached to a coin, stay neutral.**\n\n3. After investing in ETP it rose quickly. I put more money to make more of a profit. **Selling would've been the better thing to do.**\n\n4. I like IOTA, but this did not stop me from selling. **If possible, take at least your initial investment out.**\n\n6. **When selling, you can always leave coins behind for a long term hold.** Do not look at selling like an all-or-nothing proposition.\n\n7. **Dollar cost averaging is a good thing.** Instead of buying all at once price, set buy prices or days. Meaning buy at that price or day.\n\n8. **You can use dollar cost averaging when selling.** When I sold IOTA, I did not sell everything right away, I sold some and waited. When I sold 100 ZCoin at $75 I made around $7500. A week later the price went to $150. If I had waited, I would have made $15k. This bothered me for a while. Now the price of ZCoin is $18 and my sale looks good.\n\n**Never, ever feel bad about taking a profit. Focus on what you got, not on what you do not have.**\n\n10.I own a ZCoin masternode. A masternode is when you own a certain amount of coins and process transactions for that network. They pay you in that coin. This can take a lot of coins, and money, to own a masternode.\n\nI did not sell all of my ZCoin when the price rose to $150 because I owned a masternode. For those of you who don't know Bittrex is one of the largest exchanges to buy coins on.\n\n**The delisting of this coin was a huge cause for concern.** It lowered the volume per day to around $4000. This is not good for buying or selling.\n\nIt also made the coin look as though it would not survive and die. \n\nAfter watching GCR for a few weeks I sold it after a big move up. I still lost 44%, but no longer had to worry about the coin losing all its value.\n\n**Everyone needs to watch their portfolio to make sure their coins are valid and not dying.** \n\nA great place to check for this information at is will not.com\n\nWith the crypto markets consolidating, many coins can and will fail. Even coins that are doing something great may not make it.\n\nThe market is young and growing. Just don't get caught holding onto something that will not make it.\n\n**Do not be afraid to sell at a loss if a coin doesn't look to be surviving.**",

My trading portfolio, at the time of writing this, is $2800. This has been the driving force of prices falling. **As Bitcoin goes, so does the price.** \n\nThings started off fast. Bitcoin was nearing an all-time high, people were interested, money was coming in. My portfolio got up to $15,500. It looked like I would hit my goal much faster than I had originally thought.\n\n**But what goes up must come down.**\n\nEverything ran up so fast in price there was no way it could keep it up. It had to correct and consolidate. Long term this is a good thing, short term it hurts a bit.\n\nSo does it sound like I am depressed, really down about this? **If so, then here is the twist.**\n![twist.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmV2umsPZWuZtzrD3ZRnZPpSHAg2UgGrmsuBf61d4pTCUi/twist.png)\n\n\n**I am fine with where things sit. Actually, I am pretty f**king pumped since I could be worse off.**\n\nHere is why I feel this way.\n\nI am only down 0.22 Bitcoin, which is only 34% from what I started with.\n\nThe way the markets are I could be down much more. Many coins have lost half their value or more. Bitcoin alone has fallen 68%. 34% doesn't seem so bad when looking at it like that.\n\nMy main goal is to accumulate more Bitcoin. The more Bitcoin I can get, the closer I get to my goal of $50k. **When Bitcoin's price goes up, so does my portfolios cash value.**\n\nIt looks like it will take me longer to get to $50k than I first thought. This is the only thing that somewhat discourages me. I can not make the prices go up. **What I can do is keep working at it.**\n\nMake trades when I can, take smaller gains and get there little by little.\n\n**If it were easy, everyone would be doing it.**\n\nSo keep following along. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.\n\n*Can you tell me a little about yourself?*\n\nI’ve been in the tech industry since 2004. I started as Sales Manager in a software company, but then moved into Marketing and spent several years in FMCG and real estate. I moved back to tech when I joined Gett (https://gett.com/juno/) in 2014. I love technology companies for their dynamism and innovative ideas. I’ve been lucky enough to work with some great people, both within the companies I’ve been apart of and outside of them in the course of my career, and have learned a lot from them. I was even named one of the Top 10 Females in Crypto for 2017!\n\n*What got you into blockchain and crypto?*\n\nMy story with blockchain started at the beginning of 2016 when I was working as Head of Marketing & PR at Pay-Me (https://www.pay-me.ru/), the Russian equivalent of Square. The founder of Pay-Me, Vladimir Kanin, along with Igor Barinov, co-founder of Block Notary, decided to make a KYC solution for Pay-Me’s clients via a video interview on the blockchain. That was when Vladimir explained blockchain technology to me. Later I joined the Waves Platform and learned more about this technology.\n\n*How did you get involved in Waves? (I actually invested in Waves awhile ago)*\n\nReally? Great!\n\nIt was easy. I saw Sasha Ivanov, Founder & CEO of Waves, post on Facebook that he was looking for a Marketing & PR Specialist, and I wrote to him. We met and after a while joined the team in September 2016. At the time there were only 10 people in the Waves Moscow office, and a few more who worked remotely. I was the only woman in the team. I had many different responsibilities, but it was like a second family.\n\n*What is Waves’ goal long-term?*\n\nWe want to become the foremost custom tokens blockchain in the world. Tokenisation is clearly going to be a major use case for blockchains, and there’s lots of demand for this from businesses right now. We want to make a set of tools and services that will bring the benefits of blockchain technology to as many people as possible.\n\nWaves is going about fulfilling this vision in a different way to other projects, by creating a whole ecosystem of interconnected services – blockchain tech at the core, but also compliance services and influencers, fiat and crypto gateways, crowdfunding specialists and marketing, research and development, and more. We also want to develop private blockchain solutions for enterprise, since this will be a major area of interest in the future.\n\n*I have yet to use the Waves Dex, can you explain the benefits of it?*\n\nThe DEX is a decentralised exchange, so your funds are very safe and the exchange can never be hacked or shut down. Unlike a regular exchange, you don’t give up control of your crypto when you use it. All orders are settled on the blockchain, peer to peer. But despite that, it’s very fast because it uses centralised matchers to pair trades, so you get the best of both worlds. And we’ve worked really hard on the interface, so the user interface is just like a traditional exchange!\n\n*I saw Waves helped Kazakhstan regulate cryptocurrency. What was that process like?*\n\nThe approach of Kazakh authorities towards blockchain is complex and mature. It is based on a deep understanding that digital technologies are rapidly growing as a total share of the global economy. Kazakhstan’s plan to turn the country into the ‘Singapore of blockchain’ is based on objective realities, and we’re glad to be working together. Earlier this year Waves Platform signed a strategic partnership with AIFC. The goal of the partnership is the creation of an advanced ecosystem for financial technologies, using the latest blockchain tech.\n\n*What regulations are you trying to get set up?*\n\nWe are confident that our partnership will bring to Kazakhstan the most advanced practices in the field of blockchain technologies and will turn IFCA into one of the foremost centres for the development of the industry in the world. Thanks to the experience accumulated in the course of our cooperation, we will also be able to replicate the right solutions elsewhere, which will have a positive impact on the development of the entire blockchain ecosystem in the CIS. One of the purposes of the collaboration will be to support startup companies as they engage with new financial and blockchain technologies, providing them with access to Waves blockchain solutions. Waves will also help attract foreign startups to the IFC Acceleration Program and conduct training events.\n\n*Waves partnered with Deloitte to develop a legal framework. What framework has been set up?*\n\nWaves’ partnership with Deloitte is aimed at providing clients with comprehensive initial coin offering (ICO) services and customised blockchain solutions, tailored to specific business tasks. Moreover, we are now in the process of establishing a self-regulatory body that will provide reporting, legal, tax & accounting, KYC and business due diligence standards for ICOs and the blockchain industry. This self-regulatory body will be working with the ICO Governance Foundation (IGF) and other professional foundations to coordinate on cross-platform ICO disclosure protocols.\n\n*How many tokens have been launched with Waves?*\n\nI believe over 25,000 tokens have been launched on Waves. Perhaps a more meaningful measure of adoption, though, is the trading volume on DEX. We’re regularly seeing $2-3 million, and recently hit $5 million daily volume, across all our tokens. That figure is rising all the time.\n\n*What sort of regulation or government support do you have? Just recently Wyoming passed a law that defined virtual currency as a legal currency. They passed several other bills that helped crypto. They are the first to do this and several other states are following. Businesses won’t use it without knowing what kind of framework they are operating in, especially larger corporations. But that regulation needs to be proportional and appropriate, to avoid choking off innovation and preventing this new set of technologies from developing further. I think a lot of jurisdictions are taking the right line with a fairly common-sense approach. If it looks like money, it should be treated as money. Inevitably that has led to a temporary loss of confidence on the part of the public, and the mainstream news cycle doesn’t help with that. In the medium term, though, the picture is looking very good. There is a lot of interest, for good reason, some very strong use cases being developed behind the scenes, and business and institutional interest is growing all the time. In short, this isn’t a technology that is going to disappear.\n\n*How do you think we can get it adopted faster?*\n\nBy developing and releasing useful applications, and by continuing to build the infrastructure of exchanges and services – exactly what we are doing, in fact.\n\n*Biggest hurdles we may have to get it mainstream?*\n\nPopular perception and the normal market cycles aren’t helping at the moment, but the fundamentals are there, so that will sort itself out in time. At the moment, a lack of regulation means that we don’t have the necessary clarity for widespread adoption. Once that is in place, a major barrier will disappear.\n\n*What are your favorite currencies?*\n\nI believe in Russian tech entrepreneurs, so my favorite currencies are Waves, Ethereum, Ergo (https://ergoplatform.org/), and so on. If you do go to the bottom for my list of coins I like for passive income.\n\n**Masternodes** are when you buy a certain amount of a coin and run a node for them. You get paid in that coin for running the node. Each coin has a different ROI for running a masternode. For example, you have to have 1000 zcoin to run a node and the ROI right now is 30%.\n\n**Staking** a coin is when you put the coin in their wallet and stake it. Some of them allow you to pick a time frame to stake the coin and you get a predetermined return. In others the more coins you stake, the bigger the chances are that your wallet will solve the next block earning you more coins.\n\n**Dividends** are when you put the coins in their wallet. You then are paid dividends in according to how many tokens you own. This makes people not want to trade them, hopefully leading to stability and price increase.\n\n**So what coins do I like for Passive Income.** The list is not from best to worst.\n\n- **Zcoin** is my favorite as of now. I partnered on a node and have seen good returns. We bought when the price was $30 and it ran up to $150. We would have sold if we were not running a node. This is one reason coins have passive incomes like this. It causes people not to sell and to keep holding.\n\n- **NEO.** Holding Neo allows you to generate GAS (the name makes me laugh). GAS is a currency of its own so you can trade it. Now exchanges allow you to generate gas by holding NEO on the exchange.\nPhore. I do not own any Phore but the guy I partnered with on the zcoin node does. It has been out performing the zcoin node.\n\n- **KuCoin Shares.** You buy this from the KuCoin Exchange. Holders then get rewarded 50% of KuCoin's earned transaction fees every day. The amounts may be small but can add up.\nVeChain Thor. To earn Thor, you can either stake your VET in a Wallet or run a Masternode.\n\n- **Stellar Lumens.** I like what this coin is doing. I think long term this could be a great coin and that is why I am adding it to the list. For most people though using it for passive may not be an option. The reason is that the minimum amount you need to vote is 0.05% of all Lumens in existence. This will make many people have to join a pool to receive the payouts. Some pools you have to pay a fee of your payout to take part and others do not.\n\n- **Icon.** You cast your delegate vote and then receive a payout through the delegate as a reward for voting for them.\nThere are many other coins that allow you to receive passive income. I encourage you to look and see if the coins you are invested have something.\n\nMasternodes can be expensive to get into depending on the coin. There are pools out there that allow you to buy into a node with the amount of money you have. View things like I am just getting started with crypto again.\n\nBy doing these things I hope to start spotting opportunities earlier and having the chance to get into them early.\n\n**So what made me do these 5 things.**\n\nWith the market going down many people have stopped paying attention. Others still watch but not as close as if the market was going up. I am guilty of that myself by not looking for new opportunities.\n\n**I need to pay attention like I did when I just got into crypto.**\n\nEverything was new to me when I got into this. I didn't know any alt coins or what the prices were. I was like a kid in a candy store, looking at everything with fresh eyes. Everything was an opportunity.\n\nNow I know that the market is down, I have seen my investments fall, I stopped seeing some opportunities that were there. But there are still opportunities out there if I keep paying attention.\n\n**Loom Network is a perfect example of why I need to keep paying attention.**\n\nLoom came out March 14th and did not do an ICO. It seems to have solved the Ethereum scaling issue. Since it has come out the price has risen from 7 cents to a high of almost 65 cents. More about Loom [here](https://medium.com/loom-network/everything-you-need-to-know-about-loom-network-all-in-one-place-updated-regularly-64742bd839fe).\n\n**That is an amazing profit if you got in right away.**\n\nI did not know about Loom until about a week ago. If I had been paying closer attention would I have gotten in at the beginning?\n\nMaybe, maybe not.\n\nI do know that I would have known about it sooner than a week ago though. What can bring it back around so we can make money?\n\nI believe there are 2 main things that could bring about another bull run.\n\n**1.Etrade or other stock market trading platforms need to make investing in crypto easy.**\n\nThe average person does not want to buy bitcoin, move it to an exchange, buy another coin, then move it to a wallet. If these platforms make buying crypto as easy as clicking a button the market cap will increase, and prices follow. They could give exposure to more than one crypto with a fund and increase several coins at once.\n\n**2. Governments move some of their assets to crypto.**\n\nIf a government's currency is losing value, they could move some into crypto for a more stable and profitable investment. Crypto is not stable in general but if they diversify, they can reduce risk. The upside is also better than watching their currency lose value continuously.\n\nThey would only need to move a small percentage of their assets and see benefits. This would also take the supply of some cryptos down, increasing price.\n\nThese are two ways that I see could really move the market upwards and keep it there. When I saw I had played Payday 2 for over 150 hours, I thought \"I could have been spending that time doing something more productive.\"\n\nFinding something to do with the time was the hard part. I wanted to do something that could make some money. I thought about writing a book, starting a movie podcast, and possibly an online business. Nothing peaked my interest.\n\n**Then I found crypto.**\n\nAt first all I knew was that you could buy Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin. I got tired of paying fees and found Gdax. The industry is always changing. It is impossible to master.\n\n**Crypto has given me motivation to do new things.** I write this blog, do a YouTube video, and a podcast. I have done interviews which is something I had never done before. I am enjoying all of it.\n\nI have found a profitable way to occupy my time. Portfolio is down to $3400. Hurts a bit when I think that it was up to $15k. **That is a long fall down.**\n\nLately, I have been asked a lot when the market is going to come back. We need to think about the people who bought bitcoin when it was $2. They waited a long time, and it paid off.\n\n**It will go up, but it may take a little time.**\n\nI have not been making any trades lately. I would have to put in more cash or move some Bitcoin to do it. I want to keep my Bitcoin where it is, so when it goes up I can make a profit. \n\nI have been buying Bitcoin and Ethereum every Wednesday. Usually around $20 of each. Not much, but it adds up over time. **With the price being as low as it is I am able to increase my holdings at a great price.** \n\nRight now that is my main goal. Increase Bitcoin and Ethereum holdings while I can. It will get back to all-time highs. Check For A Beta or Demo**\n\nIf there is a beta or demo use it. This will allow you to see the product in action. If it sucks, is confusing, or just doesn't work it can tell you a lot. If you do not like it, then why would you invest in it?\n\n**2. GitHub**\n\nGo to the projects GitHub site. See how often they have commits and are checking in. If there have not been any in months, this can be a red flag. If they are active, that is a positive sign.\n\n**3. Search For Info**\n\nA good place to start is their website. They will often have videos explaining the project and what they are trying to do. If there are none on the website check YouTube. It is always good to find videos created by the actual team. Then you can check other websites or places you get information.\n\n**4. Token Distribution**\n\nSeeing where they allocated the tokens is important. You do not want to see the team keeping them all. Check to see if the tokens are vested for a period of time for the team before they can sell. Make sure where the tokens are going is useful and helping the project long term.\n\n**5. Look At Team**\n\nLook at the team and check their linkedin account. Odds are you will not know any of the people on the team and that is fine. Just make sure they are legit. You do not want to see that they have no experience with technology.\n\n**6. What Is It Solving**\n\nAsk yourself what the project does, how it works, benefit of the project, is there a real-world problem it can solve? These questions can tell you if the project has value and use.\n\n**7. Competition**\n\nFind out if there is any competition and what their value is. If the competition is valued way less than the project you are looking at, this is a red flag. You want them to be valued somewhat similar.\n\n**8. Roadmap**\n\nWhen looking at the roadmap you do not want to see things too far out. For example you do not want to see the product coming out in 2025. Things should be realistic and not too far out.\n\n**9. Market Cap**\n\nThe market cap for a coin can differ for each product. Looking at the competitions market cap can give you an idea of where it should be. You do not want to see such a large market cap that the price will never move and can become worthless. The more of something the harder it is to move the price.\n\n**10. Check Network Of Friends**\n\nIt is always good to have a network of friends or people you can ask questions too. They may have some insight that you did not think of. One that I use is [AboveCrypto](https://abovecrypto.com/). They have a free [Discord channel](https://discord.gg/fxkyJRJ)where I can ask questions. Reddit is also a place to ask questions, but the info can be hit or miss.\n\nWhen looking into all of this be skeptical and make them prove their product to you.
