Some of the greatest scammers in the world are participants at the Davos conference about cryptocurrencies (cyptos).\n\nWhy are the cryptos so volatile? So far, they are young without a lot of participation. Is the participation growing? Yes. It is the market forces of the free market in action. It also means a lot of people are jumping into something because they are in fear of mission out (FOMO), not because they understand the basic concept. \n\nThen, when \"trustworthy authorities\" such as those mentioned above make veiled and direct threats, those who don't yet understand what they have in their hands panic and bail out. \n\nDoes this happen in other arenas? Yes. Why then don't we see the same volatility in the other arenas? Simply because there is a much greater number of individuals involved. \n\nWill the cryptocurrency volatility ever smooth out? Yeah. As the cryptocurrencies mature and most people adopt the use of them, they won't be as susceptible to the outside forces attempting to manipulate them for their own benefit.",

And what are you going to do about it.\n\nBy now, you should all have heard about Charlie Gard and his parents fight for his life. \nIt seems that Charlie had a rare mitochondrial disease. However, after the hospital determined what the issue was, they told the parents that the best thing they could do was let him die. \n\nWell, they weren’t willing to give up that easily. So, they started looking around for alternatives. The parents discovered that there was some experimental treatments in the United States that might save Charlie’s life. \n\nThere was only one problem, the hospital and the exemplary healthcare system of the UK wasn’t willing to pay for it. In the meantime, the hospital was going to court to gain control over Charlie so that they could pull the plug on the machines that where hooked up to Charlie. \n\nSound anything like death panels? \n\nWell, the parents were eventually able to raise through a crowdfund page $1.6 million in order to take Charlie to the US and pay for the experimental treatment. However, they were denied by the hospital and the court. \n\nAfter 9 months of battling it out in the court, they finally got permission to have the lead physician in the US for the treatment to come to the UK and evaluate Charlie. The only problem was that the 9 month delay removed any chance that the treatment could help Charlie. Even the physician from the US, after 4 days of tests and evaluation, had to admit that it was too late. \n\nThe parents asked if they could at least take Charlie home for his last day(s). They were denied. \n\nThey then asked if they could at least spend time with Charlie in the hospital. The hospital denied it. \n\nYesterday (August 1st, 2017) Charlie died alone, without the loving arms of his parents, a victim of the death panels of socialized medicine (national single payer system) and its death panel.\n\nYesterday, a story broke of children being taken from their parents in Redmond, Oregon, because the state had decided that the parents were too stupid to take care of the children. \n\nNevermind that there is no direct evidence that the children were ever harmed or neglected. \n\nIt was instigated by Child Protective Service based on two anecdotal reports by parties who had every reason to shade the truth, without any further investigation. \n\nThe first was her father who was upset because she had the audacity to move in with the father of her children against his wishes. \n\nThe second was an ex-friend who’s only comment was that the father didn’t clean the baby’s bottom properly and forgot to feed the dog. You will notice that it is an ex-friend, so obviously there is some bad blood there. Again a reason to be suspicious of the report. \n\nBased on those two pieces of anecdotal evidence, the State of Oregon’s Child Protective Service has determined that they own the children and the parents have no legal standing. Mind you, there seems from reports that there was never any further investigation to find evidence of neglect or abuse \n\nNow, they are also ignoring the report by the “advocate” who has been in the house on a weekly basis for the last 14-15 months and has seen no signs of abuse, negligence or any other issues that would indicate that the parents were incapable of caring for the children.  \n\nI have listened to an interview of the mother…and she sounds more competent than most of the “intelligent” people which I hear interviewed on most news programs daily. \n\nShe has a strong sense of what is right and what is wrong…a strong love for her children and their welfare…and she’s willing to fight for them because what’s happening is NOT right. \n\nOhh…this is going through the local court with a court-appointed attorney. This is a small town where all the lawyers and judges know each other well. So, decisions are being made behind the scenes between friends because “they’re not going to understand the court proceedings anyway.” \n\nShe is currently looking for an attorney from outside the area because she knows that she isn’t getting the fair representation that’s she’s entitled to receive. \n\nSo, these are only two stories in the last couple of days. You could say that they are two canaries in the mine. \n\nWhere do we draw the line? \n\nDo we say NO to the state now? \n\nOr do we wait until they control everything? \n\nBecause you and I know that is their ultimate goal.\n\nAnd then they came for me…and there was nobody left to help me defend myself.",

      "body": "Life is amazing and totally strange...and me...well...I can sometimes be as stubborn as an old mule. And, with three score plus years under my belt, I'd say the latter is an apt description. \n\nI've realized for a long time that the USSA has seen it's better days. And, even knowing that, it is amazing how long we hang onto things and ways of doing things because \"that's the way it's always been done.\" LOL...or so we've been told. \n\nAs I stepped into \"retirement,\" I also realized that what I had set aside (which quite frankly wasn't much) just wasn't going to get me through the next four decades at least. And, when you add in the fact that most of it depends on a government program that, even if it survives the coming collapse, won't be worth the toilet paper it might be able to buy...who am I kidding besides myself?\n\nOkay, so I had come to the conclusion that there was no way I could remain in the USSA and live a \"comfortable\" life. So, with that in mind, I knew I had to find another country.  \n\nIt was, honestly, by sheer happenstance that I ended up coming to Chile for a workshop. In the week I was in Chile that time, I knew this was at the very least my first stop. Since then, I have become a Residente Permanente of Chile. \n\nWhy you might ask? Simply put...I want to jettison the blue book, which unfortunately in the current world requires a replacement. So why not replace it with one that has almost the same reach as the blue book, but without the gun and strong arm capacity? For me, it was an acceptable alternative until decentralization demolishes borders and coercive governments.\n\nSo, why am I calling myself a stubborn old mule? Intellectually, I get it. I know, kind of strange for an old fart like me. However, I have recently realized that I am continuing to use the old programming installed in my brain \"centuries\" ago. \n\nUnfortunately, those ways aren't conducive to free enterprise...and dare I say, anarcho-capitalism. That is ultimately where I want to be and how I want to do whatever it is that I do. But...umm...if I keep doing things the way I've always done them, I'm always going to get the same results, right?
