bodyThis app would be great but I have made 2 trades off the site and both have not gone well. one had a loss of almost $200 and the other $85 and so far they have only offered $130 and that is not put back into my account. They give it to mew to use for membership fees? This is unacceptable and we will not be using this site anymore unless they make it right and even then caution is always a must.

body![rrg.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmVEo5vRZ1cZbsq3nXfD6RTE6Fq1kh2qW4fML7fuqavAME/rrg.jpg) Post By: @CryptoLanger Hey Guys. Here is a post for someone who is BRAND new. Someone who has heard of Bitcoin but has never actually invested in it. Half of the battle is converting your Fiat (current money you use in everyday life) into Cryptocurrency. If you are a US or Canadian Resident you have two options that I can recommend to use in order to turn your USD/CAD into Bitcoin to get started. https://www.coinbase.com/ https://www.quadrigacx.com/ Step one is to register to Coinbase (if you wish to use VISA to pay) or QuadrigaCX if you want to do Bank Wire, Interac E Transfer or a few other methods available. To start you’ll have to verify your accounts and make sure you complete the Know Your Customer (KYC) protocols that are found on all exchanges. They put these stringent protocols in place to protect themselves from government audits to make sure they aren’t letting anonymous traders participate in money laundering. Once you move your CAD/USD into one of these exchanges (or any exchange you found that accepts these types of Fiat (a word used to describe regular currency that isn’t cryptocurrency) you can now buy Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Litecoin. The three Giants. From here you buy these coins and simply hold on the exchange (Coinbase and QuadrigaCX each generate their own “Wallets” for these coins. So if you just want to buy these and hold them long term then you can simply leave them on the exchange as they are. If you want to trade for other cryptocurrencies you have to move them onto larger volume exchanges that offer a larger variety of coins. These are: https://www.binance.com/ - Binance, Hundreds of Coins. 5million+ users https://bittrex.com/ - Bittrex, Another large exchange https://www.kucoin.com/#/ - KuCoin, Smaller Exchange offering SmallCap Coins https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Exchange - Cryptopia, SmallCap Coins https://www.coinexchange.io/ - Coin Exchange, SmallCap Coins Each of these exchanges I’ve used. Each of these you can hold any of the coins on as you trade. But LONG TERM, its never safe to keep your money on an exchange. Its beneficial if you want your coins readily available to trade right away. But if you just want to hold ETHEREUM for the next two years then I’d suggest using a Hardware Wallet. A Hardware Wallet; Ledger Nano S, can be bought online and is a piece of hardware you connect onto your computer that acts as Cold Storage (for the coins it supports; see the website for coins it supports). This way it can’t be hacked or can’t be lost. FYI a lot of people keep there money on exchanges and keep it perfectly safe. But just to know if you don’t plan on trading then that’s the safest way to store your coins. This gets into the Wallet discussion. As I said, wallets are on all exchanges. IF the exchange allows you to trade a certain coin, it will have a corresponding wallet for you to hold it. Now if you want to keep your funds OFF the exchanges then each coin should have their own wallet. (People are hesitant to keep funds on an exchange because of Mt.Gox collapse. Just Google it and you’ll get the history of the collapse of the exchange and how people lost millions). MyEtherWallet is a site that allows you to store any coins that are built off the Ethereum Platform (over 800+ coins). Although its not an exchange it also has its risks of being hacked. So use it only if you need to use certain coins; but my opinion is its no safer or no riskier than keeping it on an exchange. Just google the coin your looking for and read on Reddit and Steemit communities on which wallets are safe for which coins and just research what other people say. That’s the best way of finding out. But personally, I keep most of my funds on exchanges and keep some funds on my Hardware Wallet that I want to HODL. There are several types of Wallets so its best to get the general idea of what types of wallets are out there, and then once you find coins you like; find their corresponding wallets; • Desktop: wallets are downloaded and installed on a PC or laptop. They are only accessible from the single computer in which they are downloaded. Desktop wallets offer one of the highest levels of security however if your computer is hacked or gets a virus there is the possibility that you may lose all your funds. • Online: wallets run on the cloud and are accessible from any computing device in any location. While they are more convenient to access, online wallets store your private keys online and are controlled by a third party which makes them more vulnerable to hacking attacks and theft. • Mobile: wallets run on an app on your phone and are useful because they can be used anywhere including retail stores. Mobile wallets are usually much smaller and simpler than desktop wallets because of the limited space available on a mobile. • Hardware: wallets differ from software wallets in that they store a user’s private keys on a hardware device like a USB. Although hardware wallets make transactions online, they are stored offline which delivers increased security. Hardware Wallets can be compatible with several web interfaces and can support different currencies; it just depends on which one you decide to use. What’s more, making a transaction is easy. Users simply plug in their device to any internet-enabled computer or device, enter a pin, send currency and confirm. Hardware wallets make it possible to easily transact while also keeping your money offline and away from danger. • Paper: wallets are easy to use and provide a very high level of security. While the term paper wallet can simply refer to a physical copy or printout of your public and private keys, it can also refer to a piece of software that is used to securely generate a pair of keys which are then printed. Using a paper wallet is relatively straightforward. Transferring Bitcoin or any other currency to your paper wallet is accomplished by the transfer of funds from your software wallet to the public address shown on your paper wallet. Alternatively, if you want to withdraw or spend currency, all you need to do is transfer funds from your paper wallet to your software wallet. This process, often referred to as ‘sweeping,’ can either be done manually by entering your private keys or by scanning the QR code on the paper wallet. NOTE: Paper wallets need to ensure if you print your WI-FI printer is secure as these are easily accessible to hackers. Just hand write it if concerned. Now I know that is a lot to take in. Use this as a guide. Ive posted some links to youtube videos of people explaining how to do what I just explained. Sometimes people learn differently and it may take a certain way of explaining it in order for your to truly understand. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KkiO7sJu4lI - How to Buy Bitcoin using QuadrigaCX https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gW20txWsS0 - How to Buy Bitcoin using Coinbase https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6t_-uEsF6zc - How to use Binance (an exchange for your Bitcoin) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gr85QdOednE - Move Bitcoin from Coinbase to Binance (on your Phone) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TJLlf6Xqyk - Move Bitcoin from Coinbase to Binance (on a Mac) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_as-SRRDAlg - Choosing a Wallet for your Coins https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzTA7wo2MEY - How to use MyEtherWallet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFPAjM3jll4 - A bit more advanced, but how to create your own Hardware Wallet using a 64gb USB. body![hgthrt.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmXWLwgr6QVMhohy9DnqECc7kYrVvwUkfff6zGMiFz79zG/hgthrt.jpg) Post by: @CryptoLanger Hey Guys. Here is an overview on the ways you can keep you and your money safe on the web. As Cryptocurrencies become more mainstream its attracting many scams and hackers to prey on people who aren't properly protected online. Here's how to keep your personal information and your money safe. https://www.ledgerwallet.com/products/ledger-nano-s Is the Hardware Wallet I use. It have over 15 compatible coins on it that you can safely store offline in cold storage. (see their site for the coins they are compatible with). Now unfortunately these ledgers don’t carry the majority of coins so this isn’t practical for all coins. You can however carry ALL ER20 tokens. (ER20 tokens are any tokens made using the Ethereum Platform). You can link up your Ethereum Wallet to your Ledger Nano S. This requires you to physically use your Ledger Nano S to gain access to the funds on your Ethereum Wallets. A Great security to prevent hacking. Here is a video on how to link your Ethereum Wallet to your Ledger Nano S. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPpZxOjvU10 Remember when buying this don't buy a used one off Amazon. Buy straight from the company to prevent any possibility of tampering. If you aren't the one manually typing out the 24 character key phrases then its been tampered with! The next best way to be safe is to protect your private keys. (If You don't know what a private key is; see Terminology blog post). Don’t take screen shots, don’t take pictures etc. Print them or write them on paper and keep them stored safely. Not on the internet, not on the iCloud, not on your laptop. These are hack-able. Think of a Wallet like a Key Chain. If somebody steals your keys they have access to your car. Keep your keys safe. Next thing is to back up all exchanges and your email address with Google Authenticator (2FA). This generates a secret six digit password to your phone every 15 seconds so even if someone stole your password and username on an exchange they also have to get onto your phone, open up your Google Authenticator App and input the six digit code that pops up within that 15 seconds. This is a trusted, Google application. This should be used everywhere you need to keep information safe and private. You find the Google Authenticator App in the Mobile App Store. Do your due diligence on identifying what are fraudulent sites and scams. Personally, I don’t go on sites unless I read comments on Reddit first. Typically, your safe to go on the coins actual site because if it was fraudulent, on the same google search page it should have Reddit articles of people saying it’s a scam. So just be safe, use recognized sites as often as possible, and when in doubt; read on reddit first. Only Trade cryptocurrency on laptops that are clean and that run malware protection (I recommend Malwarebytes), antivirus scanner (I recommend Norton Antivirus), and a Password Manager (if you choose Norton it comes with an Identity safe that allows you to safely store passwords. Keep these updated daily. Use strong passwords (15-20 characters) and keep your passwords different on each exchange. (Keep a record of passwords along with copies of private keys kept in a Fireproof/waterproof safe along with your hardware wallet and any other important secure information such as an External Hard Drive of your computer backed up). Don't use repeat passwords and change them every so often. This is why features like Identity Safe's or LastPass password managers work so well because It's impossible to memorize 30+ different username and password combinations. Aside from these tools never write your password list on your computer or print it. Always hand written and kept in a safe. People can easily hack your computer and hack your wifi printer and see what you've printed. Proton Mail is a free email account that you can make that allows privacy and encryption. Ideally keep emails you use on exchanges different from ones you use on social media. You can buy a VPN (NordVPN is very user friendly with a great interface and is under $4 a month) in order to keep your IP address Private if your concerned about privacy and spying. Most VPN's you have to pay for but you can use Opera Browser which gives you a free option to use a VPN. It works well and it is free. However you get more protection in a paid NordVPN than Opera VPN free. Use Browsers like Firefox instead of Internet Explorer and use search engines like DuckDuckGo (or Norton Search if you use Norton) to keep searches private. Make sure you at HTTPS:// into your browser on all sites to prevent malicious phishing scam sites. Another tip I recommend is to watch @ThioJoe on Youtube as he is a guru at safety and technology! He mentioned in a video to make sure your laptop account is logged in on a standard account rather than an administration account (as a standard account gives less access to your PC than that of an administration account (if an app were to ever compromise your PC). Between these features and doing your own due diligence you should be safe from 99.9% of hacks. Just constantly check that if you go on Myetherwallet Website, just double check that it is truly Myetherwallet by looking at the HTTPS:// address and that you didn’t click on a phishing site that looks identical to Myetherwallet. One important thing to on scams in Crypto. Initial Coin offerings are very enticing but there are so many out there that are fraudulent. Just make sure you do lots of research before sending your coins to ICO’s. Make sure the companies are active on Twitter etc, make their management team public, etc. Or else you’ll be sending them Ethereum and waiting for them to Air Drop that ICO in your MyEtherWallet Account and months later realize it was a scam ICO. There have been ICO's that will say certain famous or reputable people are on the panel or make up some fictitious people and say they are the CEO or on the team. This is often hard to identify if its a scam or not. So unless you are positive and watch these guys on video and you can trust it's legit I just wouldn't risk it. But thats my opinion only! One other thing. Keep long term holds in a wallet rather than an exchange. Exchanges are susceptible to hacks. When your money is on an exchange its not in your hands it's in the exchanges hands. Keep this in mind. Keep your money on it as you trade coins (its impractical to send money back and forth daily between the wallet and exchange) but just make sure your not storing funds long term on an exchange. Or if you are; atleast spread between a few exchanges so you limit your hit if one of the exchanges were to go under. Lastly, if you are big into Privacy coins then look into coins such as Verge: ![DWQCH8nU0AASaws.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmVTF9KsVtFjAbG2cS2v1ciLfUdb6xPMVmTHviBwTYDuKg/DWQCH8nU0AASaws.jpg) Thanks for reading guys. Any further questions, comment below or shoot a message to the Discord Community Group and myself or others will gladly be able to help! Other things I didn't touch base on but are good to reference as well - changing DNS (ThioJoe has a video on this) and using encrypted USB sticks as a form of ledger nano S (which there are youtube videos explaining this method) Follow on Twitter @Cryptolanger

Here is an overview on the ways you can keep you and your money safe on the web. \n\nAs Cryptocurrencies become more mainstream its attracting many scams and hackers to prey on people who aren't properly protected online. Here's how to keep your personal information and your money safe.\n\nhttps://www.ledgerwallet.com/products/ledger-nano-s Is the Hardware Wallet I use. It have over 15 compatible coins on it that you can safely store offline in cold storage. (see their site for the coins they are compatible with).\n\nNow unfortunately these ledgers don’t carry the majority of coins so this isn’t practical for all coins. Here is a video on how to link your Ethereum Wallet to your Ledger Nano S.\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPpZxOjvU10\n\nRemember when buying this don't buy a used one off Amazon. Buy straight from the company to prevent any possibility of tampering. If you aren't the one manually typing out the 24 character key phrases then its been tampered with!\n\nThe next best way to be safe is to protect your private keys. \n\nNext thing is to back up all exchanges and your email address with Google Authenticator (2FA). \n\nDo your due diligence on identifying what are fraudulent sites and scams. \n\nOnly Trade cryptocurrency on laptops that are clean and that run malware protection (I recommend Malwarebytes), antivirus scanner (I recommend Norton Antivirus), and a Password Manager (if you choose Norton it comes with an Identity safe that allows you to safely store passwords. Keep these updated daily.\n\nUse strong passwords (15-20 characters) and keep your passwords different on each exchange. People can easily hack your computer and hack your wifi printer and see what you've printed.\n\nProton Mail is a free email account that you can make that allows privacy and encryption. Ideally keep emails you use on exchanges different from ones you use on social media. \n\nYou can buy a VPN (NordVPN is very user friendly with a great interface and is under $4 a month) in order to keep your IP address Private if your concerned about privacy and spying. Most VPN's you have to pay for but you can use Opera Browser which gives you a free option to use a VPN. It works well and it is free. However you get more protection in a paid NordVPN than Opera VPN free.\n\nUse Browsers like Firefox instead of Internet Explorer and use search engines like DuckDuckGo (or Norton Search if you use Norton) to keep searches private. Make sure you at HTTPS:// into your browser on all sites to prevent malicious phishing scam sites. \n\nAnother tip I recommend is to watch @ThioJoe on Youtube as he is a guru at safety and technology! He mentioned in a video to make sure your laptop account is logged in on a standard account rather than an administration account (as a standard account gives less access to your PC than that of an administration account (if an app were to ever compromise your PC).\n\nBetween these features and doing your own due diligence you should be safe from 99.9% of hacks. Just constantly check that if you go on Myetherwallet Website, just double check that it is truly Myetherwallet by looking at the HTTPS:// address and that you didn’t click on a phishing site that looks identical to Myetherwallet. \n\nOne important thing to on scams in Crypto. But thats my opinion only!\n\nOne other thing. \n\nLastly, if you are big into Privacy coins then look into coins such as Verge:\n\n![DWQCH8nU0AASaws.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmVTF9KsVtFjAbG2cS2v1ciLfUdb6xPMVmTHviBwTYDuKg/DWQCH8nU0AASaws.jpg)\n\nThanks for reading guys. Any further questions, comment below or shoot a message to the Discord Community Group and myself or others will gladly be able to help!\n\nOther things I didn't touch base on but are good to reference as well - changing DNS (ThioJoe has a video on this) and using encrypted USB sticks as a form of ledger nano S (which there are youtube videos explaining this method) \n\nFollow on Twitter @Cryptolanger",

body![sassd.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmeF5Ru8zxYUP7odozrSgAabYTHYS7tCAjRv9izNxhB4do/sassd.jpg) Post by: @CryptoLanger Hey guys. Here is a brief overview on the terms used in cryptocurrency that I think it is important for you to know as you begin your journey. Keep referring back to the page as a cheat sheet! Any words not on here please leave a comment below or ask the community on the Discord Community Chat. Before i get to the list. If you are wanting to get a technical and thorough explanation on "how Bitcoin works under the hood" then take the time to watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lx9zgZCMqXE Here's the Terminology you may need to know: HODL – Hold On For Dear Life (initially found on bitcointalk forum in 2013 when Bitcoin was crashing and there was a user who wrote a long story about how his GF is out at a gay bar and he’s at home hammered and Bitcoin is just crashing and he doesn’t care because “He’s HODLING!!!”. This was misspelt but other forum readers joked about how HODL stood for he is Holding on for Dear Life. Since then it’s been a golden quote used to Hold long term, through all dips and valleys. Altcoin - Any coin that is not Bitcoin Exchange - A website that was built by a company to allow people to exchange Bitcoin for money or other Alt Coins. (Remember, these are safe; but they are still companies and companies are prone to hacks. Don't keep all of your funds on exchanges for long periods of time to reduce the risk of this ever happening to you) a Satoshi - The smallest fraction of a Bitcoin you are able to own; which is 0.00000001 (8 decimal places). Example: Tron is wort 0.00000546 Satoshi. UTC - Universal Time, the time on which all cryptocurrency exchanges run on. Rekt – When you buy something you took a risk on/shouldn’t have and you lose lots of money on it you were “Rekt”. Bag Holder – When you buy Shit Coins (Altcoins that are going nowhere) in the purpose of trying to day trade and then you ride the pump but get hit on the dump (because you didn’t set a Stop Limit!) and now your stuck holding a bag of coins that your money is tied up in for a long time. Private Key - is a secret piece of data that proves your right to spend bitcoins from a specific wallet through a cryptographic signature. Here is how I explain Private keys vs a public key. Public keys are like your E transfer email address. If you want someone to E Transfer you money you give them the email address you want them to send it to. Your private key is basically your Mobile Banking Username and Password. Once you have access to your private keys (username/pw) you control everything to do with the funds within that account. This is why you never share private keys, only public keys. (To understand the difference between a Private and a Public key; see the following article): https://medium.com/@vrypan/explaining-public-key-cryptography-to-non-geeks-f0994b3c2d5 Hash Rate - is the measuring unit of the processing power of the Bitcoin network. The Bitcoin network must make intensive mathematical operations for security purposes. When the network reached a hash rate of 10 Th/s, it meant it could make 10 trillion calculations per second. Double Spend- If a malicious user tries to spend their bitcoins to two different recipients at the same time, this is double spending. Bitcoin mining and the blockchain are there to create a consensus on the network about which of the two transactions will confirm and be considered valid. Cryptography - is the branch of mathematics that lets us create mathematical proofs that provide high levels of security. Online commerce and banking already uses cryptography. In the case of Bitcoin, cryptography is used to make it impossible for anybody to spend funds from another user's wallet or to corrupt the Blockchain. It can also be used to encrypt a wallet, so that it cannot be used without a password. Block – A Block is a record in the block chain that contains and confirms many waiting transactions. Roughly every 10 minutes, on average, a new block including transactions is appended to the Blockchain through mining. Block Chain - is a public record of Bitcoin transactions in chronological order. The block chain is shared between all Bitcoin users. It is used to verify the permanence of Bitcoin transactions and to prevent double spending. Confirmation - Means that a transaction has been processed by the network and is highly unlikely to be reversed. Transactions receive a confirmation when they are included in a block and for each subsequent block. Even a single confirmation can be considered secure for low value transactions, although for larger amounts like 1000 US$, it makes sense to wait for 6 confirmations or more. Each confirmation exponentially decreases the risk of a reversed transaction. Bitcoin Address - is essentially the same thing as your home address. It’s the location from which you would receive, send or hold your currency. These addresses generally manifest in a long string of alphanumeric characters and will look something like: Hj35j3ifdggj4456jgodop3lfpxznDfio A wallet address is the public portion of the two encrypted keys necessary for a holder to accept or verify a transaction. Halving - is the reduction of minable reward every so many blocks. For Bitcoin the Reward is Halved after the first 210,000 blocks are mined and then every 210,000 thereafter. Mining - is the term used for discovering and solving blocks along the blockchain. A reward is given for solving the algorithm and lengthening the chain, called a mining reward. The mining reward for the Bitcoin blockchain is Bitcoin. A node - is essentially a computer connected to the Bitcoin network. A node supports the network through validation and relaying of transactions while receiving a copy of the full blockchain itself. P2P - is another way of saying Peer-to-Peer. Peer-to-peer has become a very large focus of blockchain as one of the biggest selling points is decentralization. Nearly every interaction on the blockchain can be fulfilled P2P, or without a centralized variable like a store, bank or notary. Proof of work (PoW) - was a concept originally designed to sieve spam emails and prevent DDOS attacks. A Proof of Work is essentially a datum that is very costly to produce in terms of time and resources, but can be very simply verified by another party. The proof of work for Bitcoin is referred to as a “nonce,” or number used only once. This has been considered an energy intensive alternative to proof of stake as the computers unfortunately have to be on and running, which also drives the market towards centralization of hashing power… which is what the blockchain aims to defeat! Proof of stake (PoS) - has been considered the greener alternative to PoW. Where PoW requires the prover to perform a certain amount of computational work, a proof of stake system requires the prover to show ownership of a certain amount of money, or stake. A signature - is the mathematical operation that lets someone prove their sole ownership over their wallet, coin, data or on. An example is how a Bitcoin wallet may have a public address, but only a private key can verify with the whole network that a signature matches and a transaction is valid. These are only known to the owner and are basically mathematically impossible to uncover. Smart Contracts - A two way smart contract is an unalterable agreement stored on the blockchain that has specific logic operations akin to a real world contract. Once signed, it can never be altered. A smart contract can be used to define certain computational benchmarks or barriers that have to be met in turn for money or data to be deposited or even be used to verify things such as land rights. FUD/FOMO – Fear, Uncertainty, Death; a common phrase used when people are trying to use scare tactics or doom and gloom articles to make others sell coins so they can buy in at cheaper prices. Fear Of Missing Out on the other hand is people letting there emotions get the better judgement of their goals/game plan. Fiat - Any currency that is paper backed, centralized and regulated. (USD/CAD/YEN) Pump and Dump - Someone who is manipulating the price of a coin to draw in new investors (pump) then they cash out and cause the price to fall (dump) Whitepapers - Each coin has their own white paper which outlines the details of their protocols/plans. You can find these on the coins main website. If you cant find the white paper; let that be a warning sign. Shilling - When someone talks highly of a coin in which they are heavily invested or involved with in order for them to profit. Thanks guys! Please feel free to follow on twitter @Cryptolanger

Never invest more then you can afford to lose. And keep cryptocurrencies as a percentage of your overall investment portfolio. As in, stay invested in stocks. Yes, Crypto might have prettier returns. But to be an intelligent investor its up to you to be smart with your funds. Decide how much of a percentage you’d like as your high risk high reward bucket (based off years left of investing before retirement, current money situation, etc). Now that’s out of the way, you have your funds allocated for cryptocurrency and are trying to decide on how to make a balanced portfolio. One rule is different from stocks. You don’t Rebalance (as often). Due to the lack of market makers and many other differences it just doesn’t apply in the crypto markets. If you rebalanced your stocks each year, you would have significantly missed Ripples 36,000% 2017 run up or Bitcoin 1000% run up or Tron’s 800% run up in a week. Its fine to skim profits off a pump but just remember its such a young market still that lots of these coins are just simply growing and when the market dips it dips across the board so allocating to a different coin and losing your dirt cheap buy point to move in to a coin more expensive doesn’t make sense here. That is speaking in terms of coins you want to HODL. Create your portfolio how you see fit. If your going to be hands off then I would have a 100% HODL portfolio. If your going to be on the exchanges daily Id do a 25% HODL portfolio, 25% Day Trading, 25% Swing Trading, and 25% USDT (tether – which is essentially equivalent to $1USD at all times... it’s the loop hole for keeping your money in crypto without exchanging back to fiat WHILE being able to shelter it away from the dips of crypto markets in the days there are blood in the streets of the markets). Percentages are irrelevant they are just guidelines, go based off which coins you want and how much you want to hold of each. Ways to diversify: - Large Cap/Small Cap coins - Types of coins (Privacy, Currency, Platforms, financial) - Cash out principle out of profits on big jumps and move to Tether for dips - Keep some coins on hardware wallets, some on exchanges - Some in ICO coins, some in top 10 coins, etc. These are just ideas you can use. Ideally find coins you feel are disruptive, game changing technology that you would love to stick with long term and invest in these. And keep how many coins you own less than 10 ideally. (Don’t over diversify because if one of your coins takes off you want to hit the jackpot you don’t just want to watch an 800% ROI get you a measly $1000 profit. Also, an FYI for the Cryptocurrency trading market. Brace yourself for volatility. Don’t expect 1000% gains without the sight of seeing 50-80% dips. With a market that produces gains that high its only all but healthy to see corrective dips occur to that extreme. The longer it goes without massive dips like that the more likely it becomes of an imminent massive dip. Just remember just look at history. If Bitcoin were going to die it would have died hundreds of times by now. (There is actually a Bitcoin Obituary site that tracks every time bitcoin crashes). Spoiler alert, each time it came back with higher and stronger. I can’t write my 2018 portfolio as the coins I hold will be changing throughout as a strategy, but I will say here’s my general class breakdown/game plan: 1 HODL coin: Ethereum (eventually, 1BTC as well) Day Trading: Day Trade BTC/ETC and other Altcoins that show upward trends Swing Trading: Using Technican Analysis for entry and exit points Mid range holds: Coins I like and swear by and believe they will have massive ROI in 2018. I will split the coins I own to ensure I have coins the spread across these classes: - Large Market Cap - Micro Market Cap (ICO’s that are just released on exchanges) - Privacy coin, Platform coin, Currency Coin (at least 1 of each) - I will use USDT(Tether) When I see a Pump occur in a coin to capture profits and save for rainy days. - If Market grows euphoric I will remove principle into USDT as you know its becoming evermore expected of an imminent correction. - Will TRY to keep under 10 coins. This will limit me but in order to maximize gains this will have to be done. This is not financial advice, like all of my posts this is just my opinion and what I like to do.

bodyPost by: @CryptoLanger ![dsd.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmUfLMgBb8GUAKCP3dq6L3ccuq5JearRUNk6YL6tuDcguf/dsd.jpg) ![dvsdsd.png](https://steemitimages.com/DQmX6DZAKzFNpJUYATtnxvLriMscgPnh8Fn4c1AAPyBjfFC/dvsdsd.png) We receive so many questions (mainly due to FOMO from twitter!) on how should you be trading? You hear some people praise HODL while others never hold a coin more then a couple hours at a time. Then there is others who do a bit of both. Ultimately; do what works for you! If you are great at Technical Analysis but also enjoy Fundamental Analysis of a coin (like myself) then do both. Here is a breakdown of different trade strategies that you can implement and decide for yourself. You can be a 100% Day Trader or a 100% long term hands-off investor, or do both! HODL – Long Term Investments: HODL is quite simple. Buy the coin, keep the coins in a safe wallet. Just make sure you DYOR to ensure the coin you are buying has long term potential. This, like a stock pick, would be a coin you could go weeks without knowing what the price of the coin was. You also wouldn’t lose sleep if the coin plummeted in price for weeks or months at a time. As a HODL coin, you are investing in the coins future. Not the current price of the coin. The price of the coin shouldn’t matter to you. If you are worried about a 25% dip or the coin staying stagnant for many months on Dangers of a HODL’er: - Lethargy during a sideways market - Disregarding your strategy - Chasing somebody else’s dream - Believing somebody else’s FUD - Using money that you shouldn’t be - Failing to properly do a self risk analysis before investing - Feeling like you HAVE to do something or make moves (That quote was pulled from Twitter, unknown author) If you can cope with these dangers then this type of investment will do well for you. This is a hands-off, long term method of investing. DYOR, find good coins with bright futures, buy and hold. Don’t worry about the daily percentages Swing Trading 101: Swing trading is essentially buying and selling coins (as investments) for quick profits rather then one long term profit in a HODL. This is when you find an opportunity in market dips (or more particularly specific coin dips) and you buy in low before the break out into its upward trend. You then can hold it for a few days to a week to even a month. Hold it until it reaches a peak or close to the next resistance level (or at a profit your satisfied with) and then sell it. Now with this trading you have to be considerate of the pairing your trading with. Example a BTC/TRX pairing; if you are swing trading TRX (buying at a dip it just had and plan on selling it in a week or so when TRX news release comes out as planned). You have to be aware of BTC price fluctuations. If you are holding out for a dip in TRX then your money is currently sitting in BTC. If BTC is in a downward trend you will be losing money while you wait for a further TRX dip. In this situation its best to either a) take a risk and put your money in an upward trending coin or b) shelter in Tether (USDT) until your ready to take your money and switch it to BTC and then right into TRX. This is only an issue if BTC is in a downward trend. If BTC is soaring then its even better to keep it in BTC until you are at your buy level with TRX. One important note with swing trading is to only swing trade coins you feel have bright futures and wouldn’t mind holding if it continued to drop after you bought in. Don’t buy “Sh!!coins” or you’ll just hold bags not investments. Swing trading is beneficial if you have a fundamental understanding of technical analysis but it isn’t essential. I would be very comfortable swing trading as long as you have been paying attention to the mood of the market and the previous days/weeks of that coin your trading. If you find a coin that you know is making DEV progress, making announcements and keeping the public engaged on twitter, etc, and you see the coin in the past few months has been in an upward trend but the past week or two its taken a dip. Sometimes dips can simply be big whales cashing out followed by subsequent FUD sellers due to the sudden price dip. If you can pick up on these then that is all you need in swing trades. You just have to DYOR to make sure the price isn’t dipping for a reason. (Example: Bitconnect shutting down). Day Trading: Day trading is very dependent on technical analysis. One thing to note is that many of the indicators out there that are used so heavily in the stock market are also available in cryptocurrencies however they aren’t as reliable. To keep it simple; in the stock market there are market makers who will have thousands of “Apple” shares on standby and when the spread between bids and asks in Apple starts getting to far apart they will use those shares to fill the gap; reducing the market volatility. In Cryptocurrencies there are no market makers. What makes these indicators successful are other traders doing the same things you are. If 1000 people know the support level of a coin then they will make sure they put there buy limit at that support level. This essentially creates a wall to protect from the chances of a further dip. Likewise, in a resistance level many traders will cash out before hand which is why its hard for the price of the coin to continue up past it. However, when bulls do break through that resistance you tend to see a strong upward trend as traders will ride the upward trend as that previous resistance level becomes the new support level. Now the most common indicators used for cryptocurrencies are Simple Moving Averages (20-50-100-200) MA’s, RSI, and Bollinger Bands. (more advanced users like PhilakoneCrypto and Eric Choe use Fib Retracements, Elliott Wave theory, etc). A 20-moving average means whatever chart your looking at there will be an average price of the past 20 of that specific measurement of time that will appear on the chart. So, if you’re in hours it will have the past 20-hour average. If its in days it’s a 20-day moving average, and so forth. This helps you recognize if your trading bullish (above the moving average) or bearish (below). Obviously, the higher the MA the more accurate it becomes. A 200-day moving average may be more reliable then a 20 day. An RSI is an oversold or overbought indicator. An RSI less than 30 means its oversold and an RSI greater than 70 means its overbought. As the name implies its an indicator; an RSI of 20 can still drop. Conversely, an RSI of 80 can still climb. It’s just a tool of probability. Bollinger bands coincide with the Moving Average. The bands are bracketed around the Moving Average and are there to track volatility. The wider the bands are away from the MA the more volatile the coin. Typically speaking, the more the coin trends toward the top band means the coin is overbought and when it trends close to the lower band its oversold. One important thing to note is breakouts 90% of the time occur within the bands. It is a major event if there is a breakout outside of the bands. Note a breakout can be a rapid sell off or buy in. These are the 3 common indicators. The best advice I can give to learn day trading is to research lots of youtube videos. https://babypips.com can teach you forex trading which is 95% the same as cryptocurrency trading. Chart Guys, DataDash, BoxMining are all great guys to follow to learn trading material on Youtube. Note one thing to understand is to get used to trading in satoshi’s as that’s what the charts go by on exchanges. A Satoshi represents one hunred millionth of a bitcoin (the smallest unit of bitcoin currency recorded on the blockchain). This is written as 0.00000001 Satoshi (or sat’s). Now the unit of measurement on all exchanges on the right side of the graph in charts are in sat’s so its important to be able to identify when day trading what the difference in satoshi’s will be in USD. Download a iOS phone Bitcoin calculator that you can type in the price in satoshi and it will convert to usd. You can also do this by typing it in Google. How to Day Trade aside from knowing technical chart analysis: - Best way to learn is find a pairing (BTC/TRX) and watch it for hours. Don’t put money just watch. Look at all the buys and the sells and watch how big sell walls come into play and recognize all the small purchase orders that keep changing (these are bots that do automated trading). - Find coins with high volume only - Ideally find coins in an upward trend and that are good coins to hold if you get stuck with it - Preplan an enter and exit strategy before entering the market. Set your buy price then right away set your market sell limit. This depends on how much your willing to take a loss on in order to get out safely and be able to use that money to continue day trading (maybe move to a different coin) and eventually you’ll make that loss back and then some. - Preplan an exit (sell). Don’t be greedy. Decide at the beginning based off the recent 15 minutes/half hour/4 hours/8 hours/1 day charts is it hovering between supports and resistance? How many percent is it fluctuating between support and resistance. An idea would be buy and sell for 3-5% profits at a time and do this for countless hours in a row to build compounded interest on these profits each time. - If its in an upward trend ride the wave but be ready to sell as soon as you see a downturn imminent and don’t get caught in a sell off. DON’T GET CAUGHT IN PUMP AND DUMPS There are tons of pump and dump groups. These can contain thousands of people with several million $ worth of BTC. The group leaders will announce a coin at a designated time on a specific exchange and at that exact moment the coin will see a massive spike in volume. They sometimes will delay sell offs as long as they can and spread FOMO messages on social media and exchange chat forums so they can get external buyers in on the pump. It sounds exciting but many times you can lose lots of money in the blink of an eye on the dump. There is just too many people trying to dump there shares (at market) at once and it becomes too hard to sell them until usually your very far down in the red. Candle Stick Charts: Candle stick charts are used in Cryptocurrency as it factors in human psychology which is ideal in this type of volatile market. The Green candlestick bottom is the OPEN price of that period of time. The Green Candlestick bottom is the CLOSE price of that period of time. Now a Red Bottom means the OPEN price and the Red Top means the CLOSE (as it closed further down then its open price). The wick represents the quick price of buys or sells (depending if its above or below the stick) that occurred but were just quick and unable to maintain any substance. This shows FUD and FOMO in psychology and can show market uncertainty and volatility with large wicks. https://docs.google.com/document/d/16I21Z3JR9sQReezAeAXiIUsJSihRNt3YiUUKXGWRDow/mobilebasic (Google Doc Credit goes to @XKavalis - it is his material I am just providing the link!) The article link posted above is a great tool for learning to trade Crypto. Use it and youtube videos and spend hours watching charts on your exchange of choice and find out which indicators work best for you. Remember you can’t fully rely on indicators they are simply another tool for the tool box. Also learn how to identify resistance and support levels and learn (more specifically, watch) what volume does to price changes in coins. These will help you make trading risk minimal and success rates high. Lastly, There are bots you can buy called Gunbots. These bots use your exchange API and have access to strategically buy and sell your coins for you 24/7 making you small profits. Prices are around 0.1BTC and although I haven’t used them it’s something I am considering looking into more. They don’t have your private keys, password, and are unable to withdraw coins from your account they simply just make tons of micro trades 24/7 to gain you slow and steady profits. I haven't used gunbots (and am also hesitant to suggest them; but I did just post a steemit article on 3commas.io trading bot which works using an API and I can attest that it is a really convenient tool and you don't pay for it (rather it takes a fee per trade much like each exchange fee). See my steemit blog for more information on 3 commas tool! Thanks! Be sure to follow on twitter @cryptolanger

Here is a breakdown of different trade strategies that you can implement and decide for yourself. You can be a 100% Day Trader or a 100% long term hands-off investor, or do both! \n\nHODL – Long Term Investments:\n\nHODL is quite simple. If you are worried about a 25% dip or the coin staying stagnant for many months on\n\nDangers of a HODL’er:\n- Lethargy during a sideways market\n- Disregarding your strategy\n- Chasing somebody else’s dream\n- Believing somebody else’s FUD\n- Using money that you shouldn’t be \n- Failing to properly do a self risk analysis before investing\n- Feeling like you HAVE to do something or make moves \n(That quote was pulled from Twitter, unknown author)\n\nIf you can cope with these dangers then this type of investment will do well for you. This is a hands-off, long term method of investing. DYOR, find good coins with bright futures, buy and hold. Don’t worry about the daily percentages\n\nSwing Trading 101:\n\nSwing trading is essentially buying and selling coins (as investments) for quick profits rather then one long term profit in a HODL. \n\nOne important note with swing trading is to only swing trade coins you feel have bright futures and wouldn’t mind holding if it continued to drop after you bought in. Don’t buy “Sh!!coins” or you’ll just hold bags not investments. \nSwing trading is beneficial if you have a fundamental understanding of technical analysis but it isn’t essential. \n\nDay Trading: \n\nDay trading is very dependent on technical analysis. \n\nIn Cryptocurrencies there are no market makers. However, when bulls do break through that resistance you tend to see a strong upward trend as traders will ride the upward trend as that previous resistance level becomes the new support level.\n\nNow the most common indicators used for cryptocurrencies are Simple Moving Averages (20-50-100-200) MA’s, RSI, and Bollinger Bands. (more advanced users like PhilakoneCrypto and Eric Choe use Fib Retracements, Elliott Wave theory, etc). \n\nA 20-moving average means whatever chart your looking at there will be an average price of the past 20 of that specific measurement of time that will appear on the chart. \n\nAn RSI is an oversold or overbought indicator. An RSI less than 30 means its oversold and an RSI greater than 70 means its overbought. As the name implies its an indicator; an RSI of 20 can still drop. Conversely, an RSI of 80 can still climb. It’s just a tool of probability. \n\nBollinger bands coincide with the Moving Average. The bands are bracketed around the Moving Average and are there to track volatility. The wider the bands are away from the MA the more volatile the coin. Typically speaking, the more the coin trends toward the top band means the coin is overbought and when it trends close to the lower band its oversold. \nOne important thing to note is breakouts 90% of the time occur within the bands. It is a major event if there is a breakout outside of the bands. Note a breakout can be a rapid sell off or buy in. \n\nThese are the 3 common indicators. The best advice I can give to learn day trading is to research lots of youtube videos. \n\nhttps://babypips.com can teach you forex trading which is 95% the same as cryptocurrency trading. \n\nChart Guys, DataDash, BoxMining are all great guys to follow to learn trading material on Youtube. \n\nNote one thing to understand is to get used to trading in satoshi’s as that’s what the charts go by on exchanges. \n\nHow to Day Trade aside from knowing technical chart analysis:\n\n- Best way to learn is find a pairing (BTC/TRX) and watch it for hours. Don’t put money just watch. Look at all the buys and the sells and watch how big sell walls come into play and recognize all the small purchase orders that keep changing (these are bots that do automated trading). \n\n- Find coins with high volume only\n\n- Ideally find coins in an upward trend and that are good coins to hold if you get stuck with it\n\n- Preplan an enter and exit strategy before entering the market. Set your buy price then right away set your market sell limit. This depends on how much your willing to take a loss on in order to get out safely and be able to use that money to continue day trading (maybe move to a different coin) and eventually you’ll make that loss back and then some. \n\n- Preplan an exit (sell). \n\n- If its in an upward trend ride the wave but be ready to sell as soon as you see a downturn imminent and don’t get caught in a sell off.\n\nDON’T GET CAUGHT IN PUMP AND DUMPS\n\nThere are tons of pump and dump groups. \n\nCandle Stick Charts:\n\nCandle stick charts are used in Cryptocurrency as it factors in human psychology which is ideal in this type of volatile market. \n\nhttps://docs.google.com/document/d/16I21Z3JR9sQReezAeAXiIUsJSihRNt3YiUUKXGWRDow/mobilebasic\n\n(Google Doc Credit goes to @XKavalis - it is his material I am just providing the link!)\n\nThe article link posted above is a great tool for learning to trade Crypto. \n\nLastly, There are bots you can buy called Gunbots. See my steemit blog for more information on 3 commas tool!\n\nThanks! Be sure to follow on twitter @cryptolanger",

bodyPost by: @CryptoLanger Coin Forks: ![rs=w 640.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmRqiYzCALoSRNSSLS9W9b1YZj4V5CBDhsMzbm2AGYUU3t/rs%3Dw%20640.jpg) A Coin Fork is when a majority of Miners mining a coin see a need for change in a coin’s protocol. IF the majority of miners mining a coin can reach a consensus, they can do a direct Hard Fork from the current coin and create an “edited version” of that exact same coin. The reason for this is that once a coins protocol like Bitcoin was created, it can’t be changed. Some of these miners see a need for change in the current protocol in order to make the coin more functional, scalable, etc. Since they can’t change the protocol they have to create a new protocol directly off the old protocol. ![scss.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmZY6t4yhX7bupNCk8woU9KnKjJUCzPQ4PZgAQwkratY6P/scss.jpg) Let’s use Bitcoin as an example. A Majority of miners found bitcoin became too costly in transactions and became harder to scale and they reached a majority consensus to create a new bitcoin protocol that met those demands. They then created Bitcoin Cash. This Bitcoin Cash coin came directly off the Bitcoin Protocol. Meaning; whoever held Bitcoin at that time received an equivalent amount of Bitcoin Cash via Airdrop in their wallets. A coin can have numerous forks; Bitcoin has Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold; to name a few. A Coin fork is great to fix problems on an existing protocol and at the same time is great for somebody with a big bitcoin wallet. IF they were to be holding 1,000 BTC they would have been given 1,000 BCH for free. Which at its peak before this writing BCH sold for over $3,000 USD each. Now just because a coin forks it doesn’t mean the old version of the coin goes away. They now act as two stand alone coins and its up to the community to decide which coins they prefer. IF over time everybody stopped using Bitcoin and went to Bitcoin cash; then one day Bitcoin Cash would eventually become the new Bitcoin. Much like, Ethereum Classic was the old version of Ethereum and the new version of Ethereum is now called Ethereum. There is no limit as to how much a coin can be forked. The community will decide if they like the forked coin or dislike the forked coin. The following is information from CoinTelegraph on Coin Forks in 2017: ![fwefwefwe.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmefC7Phhm8y6JL5Et7qFz9gEyYbXP7MsVVdTUYN2sAUp6/fwefwefwe.jpg) Segregated Witness: The cryptocurrency community as a whole grew increasingly frustrated with the issues plaguing the Bitcoin protocol and different solutions have been proposed over the past two years. Segregated Witness grabbed headlines in 2017, proposing two-fold changes to the Bitcoin network. The soft-fork, in August 2017, cut a Bitcoin transaction data in two, moving the signature or ‘witness’ data to the end of the transaction, effectively reducing the size a transaction takes on a block which speeds up the network. The second proposed change, which was ditched at the eleventh hour, is known as SegWit2x. This is a hard-fork, which would see block sizes increased from 1 mb to 2 mb to allow a greater number of transactions to be stored on the Blockchain. Many of the original signatories of the New York Agreement, which comprised of the world’s largest exchanges, miners and wallets, weren’t comfortable with the hard fork coming so soon after SegWit’s activation. That led to the eventual postponement of SegWit2x. Bitcoin Cash: The decision to drop SegWit2x inevitably caused a rift between two parties. The ‘big blockers’ who were adamant that an increase in block size would further solve scalability, and ‘Core’ who strongly opposed the hard fork solution. This led to the creation of Bitcoin Cash, which forked away from the original Bitcoin Blockchain on Aug. 1, 2017. Bitcoin Cash has been the subject of much debate, as the literal fork has been mirrored by unending debates by parties for and against. The likes of early Bitcoin investor Roger Ver maintains that Bitcoin Cash is the ‘real Bitcoin.’ saying it stays true to Satoshi Nakamoto’s original whitepaper. Nevertheless, Bitcoin Cash is nearing six months of existence and fears of a pump and dump situation have subsided. There are clear differences between the two cryptocurrencies, nevertheless it’s support on exchanges like Coinbase prove that the cryptocurrency is growing in popularity - even amid controversy of it’s launch on GDAX in December 2017. It seems increasingly clear that Bitcoin Cash is here to stay and it’s survival could well end further debate of a proper SegWit2x revival on the Bitcoin Blockchain. Bitcoin Gold champions the cause of the everyday mining enthusiast, who dreams of making a steady income mining cryptocurrency with high powered graphics cards (GPU). As their website states, Bitcoin Gold aims to making ‘Bitcoin mining decentralised again.’ By simply diverging from Bitcoin’s proof-of-work algorithm SHA256 to equihash, individual miners using GPUs can mine Bitcoin Gold easily, with mid-range GPUs. The fork took place in October 2017. Bitcoin Diamond is another hard fork from the original Bitcoin Blockchain which took place in November 2017. Created by mining pools Team EVEY and Team 007, BCD will have a total of 210 mln tokens, 10 times as many as Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash. Bitcoin Diamond mining uses the X13 hashing algorithm, which favors mining using GPUs much like Bitcoin Gold, opposing ASIC miners needed to mine Bitcoin, which are expensive.

body![eef.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmfVj1xsc7MjpumYeQJNt2H5yFxgP5pBNXaJC6SfnYD71A/eef.jpg) Post by: @CryptoLanger Hey guys. Here is a tool my good friend xKavalis shared with us the other day and I wanted to give you guys the tip. 3Commas is an automated Cryptocurrency Trader and Portfolio Manager. It is free to start but it takes 0.25% commission on each buy and sell. (This is $2.50 on $1000). Just make sure you consider this fee on top of your exchange fee (ie. Binance fees per trade). What it does is essentially allows you to set a buy price of a coin and it allows you to set stop losses and take profits at certain percentages. Yes you can do this on a regular exchange. But what is different is that it allows you to do a trailing stop loss and a trailing profit take. I would explain it in more detail but this main link to get started has an 18 minute video that explains it in great detail :) https://3commas.io/tracking_codes This tool is a bot trader that uses your API key on several accepted exchanges (Binance, Bittrex, KuCoin etc). Note: When you put on your API just make sure you don't allow access to withdraw; only to read and trade. I was always hesitant to offer up my API but just know they only make trades through your exchange and they aren't able to withdraw your coins. And you can delete this API key whenever you want when you are done. If you watch the video on the link above its a great 18 minute video on how to set it up step by step. I am the first one to questions things like this but I have a few good friends I trust who use this and it works well for them. Do some research and let me know what you think of it. xKavalis posted some great tutorial videos here on Youtube check them out and see what you think! IF it's not your cup of tea then no worries! Don't use it unless you feel comfortable spotting great times to buy in the markets can predetermine your sell offs and stop losses. I just wanted to post this for the few who could use this to their advantage! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9q7ofdYL8Q - Updating your trailing Stop Loss to Protect Profits https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvD8ildxNV0 - Binance Live Trailing Profits and Stop Loss https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ng_Rz6VoYu4 - Binance Trailing Stop Loss Cheers! bodyPost by: @CryptoLanger Hey guys. Yes unfortunately another scam to discuss. Twitter is swarmed by scams right now. Everyone (should) be aware of the scams where people make similar looking twitter accounts that mimic Crypto Influencers. They will often change a letter somewhere in the name and advertise they will give away free coins if you first send some coins to there address first. They then have fake accounts reply back saying wow thanks it really worked! To avoid getting scammed; I wouldn't recommend sending ANYBODY any coins in hopes of getting more coins sent back to you. Also never give out your private key. Now for the latest scam to be aware of: VERIFIED FAKE ACCOUNTS. REAL Justin Sun Twitter: ![Justin Real.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmfGxJv1BWZxjELuQrqjkQNtFqs4yNdJtBYQZC34RDsQeD/Justin%20Real.jpg) FAKE Justin Sun Twitter: ![Justin Fake.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmVPvKakYQHpti6UTY69GEd9w1inCYnQUDWbNGsom6Am4G/Justin%20Fake.jpg) This is very scary because I can easily see people falling for this. The top account, @Justinsuntron is real. The Latter photo of @Justnsunrion is fake. How does a fake account get verified?? Hackers will hack an already existing Twitter account that is verified. On twitter your able to change your name easily. So once they hack a verified account they will try to change the name to something closely replicating a Crypto-influencers account. People will now unknowingly send their information, private keys, or coins to these twitter accounts because everybody trusts verified. Stay cautious and be on alert. If it's too good to be true then avoid it. Thanks guys. Join Discord Chat https://discord.gg/AVzMa6v and follow on Twitter @CryptoLanger !

body![Top Charts.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmSUsYSfiv6uFds4TiMUow7opvbR1tTXTos2pWfzZ57PLN/Top%20Charts.jpg) Post by: @CryptoLanger Hey guys. Here is a quick post I wanted to share with you that I found on Reddit. (Note: This is not my chart I am just sharing the knowledge!) Here are the top 10 coins ranked by market cap in January of each year from 2014 to 2018. Tailor your portfolio with this in consideration. As you can see Bitcoin has been the Bull long term. Think of this as the Apple of the tech industry. Yes you MIGHT not see the same run ups as you would in some Alt's. But its a good way to hedge your investments a bit safer. You can't go wrong with BTC. Other note-able picks are Ripple, Litecoin, and Ethereum. You can see how these coins have greatly held their market caps over the years and would be great to own these coins as each of these have heavy volume, great Dev and support, and strong moats. Other points I see by reading this chart is Stellar and Dash had relatively consistent strength in their Market Caps. I know DASH wasn't shown on Jan 2018 chart but it was in the top 10 and Jan 2018 was quite the anomaly (a very massive influx in money entered the market and flooded lots of alts). The take home from this graph. Aside from the coins I mentioned most of these coins are nowhere near the top coins anymore. This can happen to any coin that might be popular now in 2018. (TRX is an example). I HOPE TRX continues to do well! Just know that some coins can rise to the top market cap and easily fall back off the top charts. Just be aware of this when you decide long term hold coins. Really make sure you know the product and can stand by the product and the team. Don't just pick a high market cap coin based purely off its market cap.

bodyNow before everyone starts questioning these picks, understand my reasoning behind these picks and who this is intended for. This is intended for someone who is relatively hands off with the market. If you are very active with trading then you'll probably be focusing on technical analysis more then fundamental analysis anyway. I chose these following coins as strong and safe coin picks for April. We are nearing the possible end of a bear market and from my experience it is the large cap coins that follow suit to Bitcoins market cap gains first. Then come the mid caps. Then come the micro caps. Obviously number one coin to hold is Bitcoin! Its the Microsoft of the Cryptocurrency industry. Here are my picks; all coins have strong foundations, great dev teams, big following and high market caps, and are at very attractive prices from there ATH (all time highs). Litecoin ![LTC.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmSiWYiWKPJXh2VjmBEBwnMDyYEFJZDe2pAxQbdbXsLatG/LTC.jpg) Making partnerships with several big merchants and now released Litecoin will be used as "LitePay". This could be the mass adopted version of what Bitcoin was "supposed" to be. I recently watched a podcast with Charlie Lee and he had mentioned that Bitcoin simply will not be the coin for everyone. Although it will be a great coin and Segwit/Lightning network will make transactions cheaper it just wont compare to Litecoin. Whether BTC will be used as macro transactions and LTC will be used for all micro transactions; only time will tell. NEO ![NEO.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmNW7AwdxmbbLtG7LhRrH8CckEjE1mzynrHVguXpq2zz8N/NEO.jpg) Neo is the little cousin to Ethereum. Neo has several ICO's building on its Neo Platform. And although similar to Ethereum; it focuses in on a specific goal: Smart Economy. Neo also just sponsored the largest Cryptocurrency convention last month and reached ATH. I've read some FUD on Neo saying its not PoW or PoS and all of a sudden has a bad rep. However this has not been any different since day one. If anything the fundamentals are all intact and hope this FUD allowed you to pickup NEO for a bargain! DASH ![DASH.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmfMr8QmfXe5DueFWnYPFR9Wv3RXmz58KfXhbVeiYPGUQf/DASH.jpg) With a low max coin supply, and an incredibly professional marketing and development team; Dash is set up for 2018 success. Need an example? It had just aired a one minute commercial on a united states flight on all of the overhead TV's in the seats. 0x ![0x.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmThizWg6xpeHqvBzAQU9WwGDvznsoMTEJmSzXw5TvKsSx/0x.jpg) Decentralized Exchanges... This would change the worries of centralized exchanges having security breaches and losing funds! This is an Ethereum Based Token that was just released for Trading on Bittrex on Feb 15th! ICON ![ICX.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmSdXaBR9aBSy6Nksn87UfLzEZGifBqk6BprNrG8Jx4BhH/ICX.jpg) ICON reached ATH just before the bear market as it hosted a cryptocurrency conference. ICON intends to build the largest decentralized network in the world. This makes for a massive market cap potential. Ethereum ![ETH.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmakJ6XpTp7f3RrS2PatPbyVXUwLpPaQfDNELjYrye85cg/ETH.jpg) Ethereum has several hundred coins built on its platform. In order for any one of those coins to be successful, Ethereum needs to survive! It will be around for a long time to come!
