| title | Take another look at Foldingcoin- FLDC |
| body | What's up steemers, I'm back from a lil time off, like always we try to make it short and sweet and this is not investment advice, ALWAYS DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH! A few weeks ago we talked about foldingcoin and we suggested that you get familiar with the coin. We also cautioned that it was currently spiking on polonix and to watch and see how it traded for a bit before making any big decisions- fast forward a few weeks and FLDC went from about 1150 satoshis to almost 1600, before falling all the way down to 700 satoshi yesterday- the total market cap is just over 9MM, so this coin is still a baby. Looking at the order book on Polonix, there is currently a large buy order position at 701,700,699- it held yesterday and is bouncing a little today; this could be an easy trade if you look to enter around here and just stop out if it breaks 698- this is an extremely volatile and risky coin, anything that you would put into FLDC you must be willing to lose, but on that note, I think this coin actually could have some phenomenal potential as it relates to curing extremely complex and deadly diseases- IOW you might need to pay with FLDC in the future if you want Stanford to analyze your cancer and give you a personal treatment reccomendation- what would you pay for that in 20 years? Also, we will do some more BTC analysis as we haven't comment in some time, however it has been relatively range bound over the last month and doing what we expect- we did say that we wouldn't be surprised to see BTC back at 1400-1600, and I'm still of the belief that we head lower before making the next move higher. I'm curious what the others think on BTC and FLDC, let me know- happy steaming all. |

We also cautioned that it was currently spiking on polonix and to watch and see how it traded for a bit before making any big decisions- fast forward a few weeks and FLDC went from about 1150 satoshis to almost 1600, before falling all the way down to 700 satoshi yesterday- the total market cap is just over 9MM, so this coin is still a baby.\n\nLooking at the order book on Polonix, there is currently a large buy order position at 701,700,699- it held yesterday and is bouncing a little today; this could be an easy trade if you look to enter around here and just stop out if it breaks 698- this is an extremely volatile and risky coin, anything that you would put into FLDC you must be willing to lose, but on that note, I think this coin actually could have some phenomenal potential as it relates to curing extremely complex and deadly diseases- IOW you might need to pay with FLDC in the future if you want Stanford to analyze your cancer and give you a personal treatment reccomendation- what would you pay for that in 20 years?\n\nAlso, we will do some more BTC analysis as we haven't comment in some time, however it has been relatively range bound over the last month and doing what we expect- we did say that we wouldn't be surprised to see BTC back at 1400-1600, and I'm still of the belief that we head lower before making the next move higher.\n\nI'm curious what the others think on BTC and FLDC, let me know- happy steaming all.",

| body | What's up steemers, going to make this short and sweet... As always, these are not recommendations or investment advice, DO YOUR OWN RESEACH! If you have not taken a look at Foldingcoin yet you should. This is a very interesting platform that is a combination altuastic donation of your computing power to Standford researchers to study Alzheimer's and other horrible diseases, as well as a crowdfunding platform for crypto. This coin is still fairly new and just experienced its first halving of the reward based on 450,000,000 of the 900,000,000 coins being issued. All of this information can be found on foldingcoin.net- I strongly suggest you take a gander if you're interested in crypto. In these "early" days of crypto it feels very much like the mid to late 90's with tech stocks- pretty much everyone is throwing money at any blockchain that can get a coin issued and running to start a network, if you have a coin, they will buy it... Silly, because a lot of these coins are backed by morons and people that don't know code or what their intent even is in some cases- many popular coins still have glaring backdoors in them that allow for the chain to be manipulated and forked, and we're not talking coins with small market caps either, there are several over 100M, and we probably will be hearing about these in the future and how they were compromised- nonetheless FLDC seems like a legit project, that actually helps really smart people at standford cure disease. This is a "feel good" coin, with the potential to do much more, sure you can say that about pretty much all crypto at some point, but this one is worth looking into, and its still relatively "early"- the price on Polonix (a popular exchange) has recently spiked, so this might have some serious volatility as its drawing the interest of a lot of "day-trading" money- watch the price for a while first and get an idea what this coin is doing if you decide you want exposure- but nevertheless, you need to look into what is going on with foldingcoin. foldingcoin.net |

| title | Op-Ed: The Bitcoin pricing conundrum- what is Bitcoin worth- 1,000,000? |
| body | If you're like most, you just want the bottom line and you want it now. So here it is- Bitcoin is "worth" whatever the next man will pay you for it- some may call this a greater fool theory, others just see it as simple supply and demand. But simply put, the market cap of BTC as of this article is approximately 44.6 Billion- which represents only 39% of the total crypto in "circulation"- as many who have been following BTC for some time know, this is a virtual all time low as far as BTC % of total crypto market cap- most of this erosion has come from the stratospheric growth of Etherium, which is 75% of BTC's market cap (see chart below from coinmarketcap.com) So BTC is by no means the clear cut winner as many once thought; I do however still believe BTC will be the standard by which all other alt's are based off of, but it does appear as if Etherium is the most viable contender for the throne. The fundamental analysis around the "worth" of most crypto is rooted in the mining fees being colected, how much you value a certain blockchains IP or "niche" is a whole different beast in and of itself- today there are almost 7 million dollars a day of fees being collected on the BTC blockchain, versus just 1 million a year ago, so the fundamental analysis behind BTC might suggest that it is actually fairly valued in relation to itself or perhaps even undervalued currently in relation to the other alt's, namely Etherium, and you can toss in Ripple too. As far as #'s in terms of US dollars, there was a guy on CNBC today saying BTC could go to 500K by 2030. WOW! Well if its just about headlines, then I say it can go to 1,000,000 dollars by 2031!!! (hey thats only a 100% pop off of a 500K price target of some other crazy smart VC guy on CNBC)- but now herein lies the current pricing conundrum... The fundamental analysis which could potentially drive BTC higher is based on mining fees which many believe are being artificially inflated at the moment by the aforementioned miners themselves. So while many people are still choosing to use the BTC network and pay a higher fee (which I believe they just simply don't know they're paying more), the potential for a scaling solution to allow for both a faster and cheaper network again (as many believe Satoshi envisioned in the first place), is in fact a fundamental negative for the BTC price, while the potential growth of the network and the additional IP value is a positive- if a legitimate scaling solution is implimeted there is a high likelihood that the other alt's would lose market cap back to BTC- so how do you try to fundamentally figure out what BTC is worth? The answer, you don't... There is no proper way to fundamentally value BTC, any analysis based on mining fees is just simply one's attempt to rationalize an asset which was essential created out or no where, essentially exists no where, is not controlled by any person or central agency. There are many who are successfully trading BTC and alts using Algo's and technical analysis, but they don't pretend to know what these coins are fundamentally worth- they are simply trading lines on a screen, and for now thats probably the smartest way to do it. In a matter of 8 years, BTC has gobbled up some 44+ Billion worth of traditional fiat currency from the global economies- include all the other alt coins, and that total figure exceeds 100 Billion, so either there are a lot of "greater fools" out there, or maybe their is actually something to this whole crypto currency thing, and we're only really just getting started... |

| body | To convert Fiat to BTC I mainly use Coinbase- there are a few others but they are far smaller and less reputable; unfortunately I think we need to stick with coinbase for now, but once you have your BTC I'd suggest sending it to your own wallet or to an exchange if you want to trade or buy other alt's- coinbase is really only good for moving fiat to crypto or back if you need more fiat for something. |

| title | Bitcoin bear market, short and long term price targets |
| body | Good afternoon all, time is bitcoin so let's jump right in. In the previous post 2 days ago we commented on the recent BTC sell off and where it found support and bounced on the chart- that level was at $2285, and we saw a violent bear market rally back up to over $2700 on Bitfinix- see chart from 2 days ago below. We said that we thought that $2132 was in play using our measured move analysis off of BTC's 2013 spike higher and compared it to this most recent move up. We know there is usually a premium to purchase BTC on the coinbase network, and this spread seems to widen when BTC sells off quickly in the several exchanges that I watch- sometimes coinbase just outright crashes and they don't let anyone buy or sell BTC when the price is tanking- thats a whole separate topic that we should discuss sometime. So 2 days ago we put a $2250 price target on BTC on coinbase and suggested that be the first bullet you fire if you're new to BTC. Fast forward 2 days and we're rolling over again- see chart from about 3:45PST below As you can see we have just violated that previous trendline that was serving as major support, I believe there is a very good chance we will see $2132 on Coinbase and that we could even see those levels in the next 6-12 hours. The next level of major support doesn't come into play until you reach $1725 (see chart below) This level ($1725) I think will be tested at some point in the next month, but I think its highly unlikely that we see it on this particular sell off. I think like the first sell off from 2 days ago, we will see a violent bounce back up to our decending trendline and that we are setting up for another bear market bounce (and yes using the highs of $3003 2 days ago, BTC is in a bear market). As we said, we think $2132 on Bitfinix and $2250 on Coinbase represent a nice entry point for an initial BTC purchase, perhaps 10-15% of the total position desired. Long term we think BTC will come back into the 1400-1600 range, most likely in the next month, and we would be buying aggressively at this long term support line (see chart below) In closing, look for an entry in the next 6-12 hours with an opportunity to sell that on a bear market bounce, but long term we think BTC still has plenty of downside in front of it. IF YOU DO INTEND TO TRADE DO NOT USE COINBASE, transfer funds to an exchange of your choosing after doing your due diligence, as the fees and spreads are for more manageable there. |

| title | Bitcoin is hurting Gold and gold miners, and this could soon change.. |
| body | This is my first post and I will make it brief and to the point. My main goal here is to explore the steemit site and see if there is an audience for such information. I am a financial professional that manages money for wealthy individuals, and I am one of the few people in my circles that believe in cryptos (and I am generally against the dollar and dollar dominated assets). Yes, I am forced to work in a system that at its core I think is fundamentally flawed, however I feel that I can do a service for clients by making them aware of the rapidly changing paradigm know as cryptocurrancy and how it has affected more traditional "stores of value" such as precious metals and hard assets. Just to go over the #'s briefly, the total market cap of $BTC recently surpassed 48 Billion when it briefly kissed $3,000, it has recently pulled back in price and at the time off this article it is approx. 43.8 Billion- depending on what site you use to price BTC (which is another large problem with BTC price discovery, as there is still a tremendous amount of arbitrage opportunity on the BTC network between trading platforms, and candidly there shouldn't be if the BTC network worked as it should- meaning that you can send BTC anywhere almost instantly and for a few cents- which we can no longer do). By comparison, the current market cap of the major gold ETF's- (GLD 34.86B & IAU 8.32B as reported on google finance), combine to total 43.18 Billion, a shade under the total market cap of BTC. Now this is but a fraction of the approximate 7.7 Trillion worth of gold that has currently been mined and is in "circulation," however it is the primary means by which anyone who wants to invest in said assets would do so using funds in a brokerage account. Most individual investors don't hold the actual metal or futures contracts on such, they use an ETF or buy the common stock of a gold miner to establish exposure to the commodities' underlying price. By this same logic, one must also include the market cap on the recently insane BTC ETF known as the GBTC, and while this trades at an absurdly stupid premium over the NAV of the actual Bitcoins it holds, it is still the primary if not only means by which one can get Bitcoin exposure through a brokerage account. Yes, you can buy stocks like TXN & AMD given that these are the chips being used in Bitmain's miners, but these are nonetheless not a pure play on BTC. The market cap of GBTC as of this article is 850 Million. My point simply put, BTC (and other Alts, mainly Etherium), have recently provided substantial competition to traditional "safety/ store of value" investments, mainly precious metals and hard assets. I think it is very likely that if crypto in general sees a correction off of these stratospheric highs, gold ETF's and mining stocks will benefit from such a correction. The funds in the GBTC could easily be moved, other funds in BTC in theory couldn't be immediately invested in metal ETFs- however that being said, most major players who have any substantial exposure to BTC will also have the ability to invest inside of a brokerage account with another source of funds, as we all know, $ is extremely fungible in this day and age, so they could most likely sell BTC and be buying metals at the same time with a different source of funds, while still maintaining their overall desired exposure to alternative assets. Again, the actual movement of those funds into the metals ETF is not what would move the underlying commodity price, those ETF's are not the tail wagging the dog, rather the purchase of the futures contracts as it relates to the overall gold market and it's 7.7 Trillion + is what matters- what I'm saying is that if BTC pulls back 50% like I think it has the potential to do, say to $1500, that environment would not be conducive to portfolio managers buying BTC, and by default I can see those funds and that exposure immediately finding its way to precious metals (and not just gold but silver and as the title of this article suggests, platinum too). The ferver to own BTC over the last few weeks has blinded many institutions and frankly they have lost some interest in precious metals because of such. If today's 15-20% dip in BTC doesn't wake up the new owners of BTC to the risks here, I'm not sure anything will, and then the sell-off that I thought would be 50% could be closer to the measured move of BTC from its peak in 2013 ( just over $1100), to its lows of approx $175 a year later, and that would be almost an 85% decline. While I think this is fairly unlikely, mostly because BTC went from just over $100 to $1100 in a few weeks back in '13, and while this most recent move has also been fairly violent higher, it has by comparison gone from just under $900 a few months ago to kiss $3000 this morning, so a little over a triple in that time (vs. a ten bagger back in 2013)- perhaps we could at least expect to see about 1/3 of the move down that we saw back in '13, so about 28-29% down. Bitfinix quotes this morning topped out at $3003, and bottom ticked at $2284.40, for a peak to trough decline of 24%- while almost getting to our downside target of $2132 (which is 29% off of the $3003 high), the extremely important short term moving Ave (see chart below) provided substantial support at the previously mentioned $2285 level. I still think the $2132 is in play on Bitfinx, which means that Coinbase will probably try to artificially keep the price north of $2250, if looking to convert fiat into BTC and you are using the Coinbase platform to do such, I think your first bullet should be at $2250, and be prepared to buy it systematically to $1500, and should we all get lucky enough to see BTC approach $1,000 again, well that's where you back up the truck- but until then, I think you'd be very wise to move some of those newfound gains in BTC & ETH into GLD or IAU. For what its worth, I think that 10% exposure to precious metals, alternatives, and hard assets is appropriate in a diversified portfolio, and I think up to 20% of that pie can be allocated to crypto's. Of that 20%, I'd be inclined to put at least 50% if not 75% into BTC, with the remainder being exposed to the Alt's- I absolutely would have zero exposure to Eth at $350 or Ripple at north of .30, both of those have simply gotten out of control. I'd be more inclined to hold some XMR or DASH if I was looking to hedge my BTC exposure with other Alts. Hopefully this starts a thread or conversation, I'm curious to hear what other fans of crypto and metals think! |
