      "body": "It's my Bantayan Island Holy Week Escapade !!!!\n\nThis time, I preferred to celebrate my first summer vacay in our very own Cebu!! Holy Week naturally is not about fun and vacation, it's about reflecting on our spiritual aspect, our hunger and thirst for spiritual guidance. But as an employee Holy Week is one of the longest holiday I could avail from work (aside from Christmas Season). I enjoyed unwinding and relaxing myself away from the chaotic city life to the hot island life.\n\nI stayed in the Municipality of Bantayan,Bantayan Island,Cebu.\n\nBantayan is a first income class municipality on Bantayan Island in the province of Cebu, Philippines.[5][6] It is located 136 kilometres (85 miles) by road and sea from Cebu City. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 74,785, making it the island's most populous town as well as the largest.[3] In the last election, it had 45,814 registered voters.[4] It is bordered to the north by Madridejos and to the southeast by Santa Fe. The municipality also includes numerous smaller islands, such as the Don Islands (Botigues, Doong, Lipayran), Hilotongan, and Yao. \nFor several decades, local and international tourists flock to Bantayan for what is often mistaken as the island’s fiesta (feast day) during the Holy Week. The possible cause is perhaps the peculiar manner that the Bantayanons (people of Bantayan) have traditionally celebrated Holy Week.\n\nDuring Holy Week, the Municipality of Bantayan is popular for its Santo Entierro (Holy Burial) procession where the Stations of the Cross are portrayed in life size figures mounted on carozzas (carriages).Some of these images are believed to have been brought by Spanish priests in the late 1800s. The relatively recent figures and images have been commissioned by the affluent families of Bantayan. Every year, these images are displayed during the Good Friday procession. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis is a glimpse of the procession scenario in the Municipality of Bantayan.. Many stalls were also on the sidewalks just in case you need to grab something. Strolled on the beach, had night swimmings, moon watching, but the highlight of the tour or \"laag\" is the visit to Bantayan Nature Park and Resort ( is only 20 minutes away from the port of Sta. Fe.).       "body": "Last February of 2015, I visited Manila, the capital city of the Philippines. It was my first time. Though, I am a Filipino, but I am from Cebu (a province in the Visayas area which is far from Manila). There, I stayed at the historical Manila Grand Opera Hotel.\n\nMy itinerary includes a tour to the Coconut Palace which is the office of the Vice President of our country, (the Republic of the Philippines). I also visited the Villar Foundation in Las Piñas, had a sumptuous dinner at The Food Club in Pasay. I also had the opportunity to tour inside the Nuclear Power Plant in Bataan. But my favorite part of the tour was the Corregidor Island experience. I was so excited because finally I would be seeing such historical place in which I only read and saw in books.\n\n\n In going there you will ride a ferryboat, the Sun Cruises (a tour company operating from the old Hoverferry terminal near the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex along Roxas Boulevard, provides ferry services to Corregidor. Its booking office can be contacted at (632) 834-6857 to 58, (632) 831-8140 . The cost of the tour includes roundtrip ferryboat transfers, shrine and terminal fees, guided island tour, and lunch. There is a scheduled trip that departs from Manila daily at 8:00 a.m. and arrives in Corregidor a little over an hour. Due to this location, Corregidor was fortified with several coastal artillery and ammunition magazines to defend the entrance of Manila Bay and the City of Manila from attacks by enemy warships in the event of war. Located 48 kilometres (30 mi) inland, Manila has been the largest city and the most important seaport in the Philippines for centuries, from the colonial rule of Spain, Japan and the United States, to the establishment of the Republic of the Philippines in 1946.\nCorregidor (Fort Mills) is the largest of the islands that formed the harbor defenses of Manila Bay together with El Fraile Island (Fort Drum), Caballo Island (Fort Hughes) and Carabao Island (Fort Frank), which were all fortified during the American liberation of the country. The island was also the site of a small military airfield, as part of the defense.\nDuring World War II, Corregidor played an important role during the invasion and liberation of the Philippines from Japanese forces. It's worth it cause it can give us more information and knowledge of what was the happening way back then that was not written in our elementary and secondary history books.\n\nAfter the show, we rode the shuttle to the port area where the Sun Cruises heading back to Manila Bay were waiting for us.Me and my tour mates  had big smiles on our faces because aside from the fun and amusement, we also had lots of learning on a very important part of the Philippine history.\n\nTil' the next travel and adventures.\n\nChoose Philippines!       "body": "Last February of 2015, I visited Manila, the capital city of the Philippines. It was my first time. Though, I am a Filipino, but I am from Cebu (a province in the Visayas area which is far from Manila). There, I stayed at the historical Manila Grand Opera Hotel.\n\nMy itinerary includes a tour to the Coconut Palace which is the office of the Vice President of our country, (the Republic of the Philippines). I also visited the Villar Foundation in Las Piñas, had a sumptuous dinner at The Food Club in Pasay. I also had the opportunity to tour inside the Nuclear Power Plant in Bataan. But my favorite part of the tour was the Corregidor Island experience. I was so excited because finally I would be seeing such historical place in which I only read and saw in books.\n\n\n In going there you will ride a ferryboat, the Sun Cruises (a tour company operating from the old Hoverferry terminal near the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex along Roxas Boulevard, provides ferry services to Corregidor. Its booking office can be contacted at (632) 834-6857 to 58, (632) 831-8140 . The cost of the tour includes roundtrip ferryboat transfers, shrine and terminal fees, guided island tour, and lunch. There is a scheduled trip that departs from Manila daily at 8:00 a.m. and arrives in Corregidor a little over an hour.
