Breakfast of Champions: Omelette If you’re not eating eggs daily while trying to build muscle mass, then you’re playing yourself. It’s hard to keep eggs interesting when you’re eating them everyday. Sometimes I boil them when I really can’t be bothered, and other days I’ll scramble them just to make them more edible. But when I’m really feeling like feeling my body for a strong workout, I go with an omelette. This is super simple. I take 3 eggs, chop up a bunch of spinach, mix in diced tomatoes, peppers, shredded cheese and if I have it, ham, whisk it all together and throw it in a frying pan. I know that compounding this with 4 slices of bacon probably wasn’t the healthiest of options but I’m only human and it was the last 4 pieces in the pack. Anyways, the meal was going pretty well until I realized that I had placed the pizza onto wax paper which stuck to the bottom of the pizza as it baked. I spent 10 minutes slowly and methodically peeling the wax paper off from the bottom of the pizza… but after all of that, it was pretty delicious. It was a heavier meal than I would have liked to have had but thats what came with our subscription this week. Next week I'll make sure to keep it a little lighter. |

"body": "Ok.... so this wasn't the healthiest pizza that I could have made, but it was delicious...\n\n\n\nIf I’m going to post food, I’ll post recipes, delicious meals that I’ve had, or food disasters. But as I said in a previous post, nutrition is 80% of whats required to make changes to your body. And the #1 staple food that people should be having for breakfast? Eggs.\n\nBreakfast of Champions: Omelette \n\n\nIf you’re not eating eggs daily while trying to build muscle mass, then you’re playing yourself. \n\nIt’s hard to keep eggs interesting when you’re eating them everyday. Sometimes I boil them when I really can’t be bothered, and other days I’ll scramble them just to make them more edible. But when I’m really feeling like feeling my body for a strong workout, I go with an omelette. \n\nThis is super simple. I take 3 eggs, chop up a bunch of spinach, mix in diced tomatoes, peppers, shredded cheese and if I have it, ham, whisk it all together and throw it in a frying pan. \n\nI know that compounding this with 4 slices of bacon probably wasn’t the healthiest of options but I’m only human and it was the last 4 pieces in the pack. I need to be well fed to have a good workout and this meal did the trick. \n\n*PRO TIP* Pre dice the ingredients ahead of time and store them in Tupperware in the fridge. It saves you a bunch of time and makes making omelettes in the morning super easy.\n\n\n\n\n\nA bit of a lunchtime disaster...\n\n\nIf you live in Canada, you might have heard of Make Good Food. Its a meal delivery service where they ship you a box of fresh produce and recipes with everything already proportioned out. Its fantastic for saving time and being introduced to new foods that you ordinarily wouldn’t make yourself. \n\n\nToday it was Ground Beef and Mozzarella thin crust pizza but it was a bit of a struggle. The recipe was simple enough, until I had to kneed the dough myself (something which I’ve never really done). And don’t get me started on chopping the onions.. | body | <html> <p>This is my first post on Steemit so I thought I'd post about something that's meaningful to me and use this platform as a way to be accountable to myself.</p> <p>For the next 30 days, I'll be using this platform to post my workouts, progression, nutrition and supplementation tips, diet recipes that I'm using and more. Hopefully this can inspire others to make a positive change in their own lives.</p> <p>I'm in decent shape, but like so many people, I struggle with keeping a regular habit of going to the gym and living a healthy lifestyle. Don't get me wrong. I'm young (29 years old), active, and eat relatively healthy most of the time, but I know that I can be better. </p> Random Selfie https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmbUVHWkjFY5uxJCAcnrA6oVNDEpMTLWsEW3SbmvDs8yvF/ATB03835.JPG <p><strong>Day 1</strong></p> <p>I'll largely be following <a href="https://www.muscleandfitness.com/workouts/workout-routines/complete-mf-beginners-training-guide-plan">this workout from Mens Health.</a> It's a 4 week beginner workout plan that I've used in the past but I may make a few small modifications. For one, my arms have always been large relative to my proportions so I'll reduce the amount of dedicated arm workout. I've also been getting over a cold so I cut the workout slightly shorter than I would have liked to have as to not over exert myself.</p> <p>I was able to drag myself out of bed and be at the gym for 6am this morning. I started the day out with a protein shake made with bananas, strawberries, spinach, almond milk, water, and protein (I had made it the previous night and kept it in the fridge- I'll do another post for that smoothie recipe if anyone is interested), and took 2 multivitamins and 2 tablets of purple k creatine. Following the workout I took another 2 purple k tablets and downed a whey protein shake with a scoop of BCAA's (branch chain amino acids) and glutamine. I find that it really helps me to feel ready to put in a good work out. *Pro Tip* I use some eucalyptus essential oils and throw some against the walls to give the room a better smell.</p> <p>Getting in shape is 20% based on what you do in the gym and 80% based on what you do outside of the gym. "body": "<html>\n<p>This is my first post on Steemit so I thought I'd post about something that's meaningful to me and use this platform as a way to be accountable to myself.</p>\n<p>For the next 30 days, I'll be using this platform to post my workouts, progression, nutrition and supplementation tips, diet recipes that I'm using and more. Hopefully this can inspire others to make a positive change in their own lives.</p>\n<p>I'm in decent shape, but like so many people, I struggle with keeping a regular habit of going to the gym and living a healthy lifestyle. Don't get me wrong. I'm young (29 years old), active, and eat relatively healthy most of the time, but I know that I can be better. </p>\n\nRandom Selfie\nhttps://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmbUVHWkjFY5uxJCAcnrA6oVNDEpMTLWsEW3SbmvDs8yvF/ATB03835.JPG\n\n<p><strong>Day 1</strong></p>\n<p>I'll largely be following <a href=\"https://www.muscleandfitness.com/workouts/workout-routines/complete-mf-beginners-training-guide-plan\">this workout from Mens Health.</a> It's a 4 week beginner workout plan that I've used in the past but I may make a few small modifications. For one, my arms have always been large relative to my proportions so I'll reduce the amount of dedicated arm workout. I've also been getting over a cold so I cut the workout slightly shorter than I would have liked to have as to not over exert myself.</p>\n\n<p>I was able to drag myself out of bed and be at the gym for 6am this morning. I started the day out with a protein shake made with bananas, strawberries, spinach, almond milk, water, and protein (I had made it the previous night and kept it in the fridge- I'll do another post for that smoothie recipe if anyone is interested), and took 2 multivitamins and 2 tablets of purple k creatine. Following the workout I took another 2 purple k tablets and downed a whey protein shake with a scoop of BCAA's (branch chain amino acids) and glutamine. I'll do a deeper dive into supplementation in separate dedicated posts in the future. </p>\n\nAt the Gym\nhttps://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmQoX9tAMPvSkJRy384T3VcmAFuTXQdPcRbjqLxvGk3de9/20181003_070146.jpg\n\n\n<p>I like to start my workout sessions with a 10-15 minute sit down in the steam room or dry sauna to warm up and loosen my muscles. I find that it really helps me to feel ready to put in a good work out. *Pro Tip* I use some eucalyptus essential oils and throw some against the walls to give the room a better smell.</p>\n<p>Getting in shape is 20% based on what you do in the gym and 80% based on what you do outside of the gym. I started the day out with a protein shake made with bananas, strawberries, spinach, almond milk, water, and protein (I had made it the previous night and kept it in the fridge- I'll do another post for that smoothie recipe if anyone is interested), and took 2 multivitamins and 2 tablets of purple k creatine. Following the workout I took another 2 purple k tablets and downed a whey protein shake with a scoop of BCAA's (branch chain amino acids) and glutamine.
